A Secret To Hide

The actors arrived on location for the shooting of the newest addition to the Star Wars saga, Episode II to be exact. They had to meet with the director, George Lucas, so he could lay down the rules and give them the full script.

Everyone piles into the room, "Ok , everyone listen up...These are your scripts...look over them and we will do a dry run tomorrow on some scenes. Then, sometime next week after practicing the script I expect you all to have it memorized. As far as rules go, I only have one major thing that needs to be followed at all cost. Do not, I repeat, do Not form "attachments" while we are filming. I find that it prohibits actors from acting to their fullest potential when they have to worry about if that particular scene will hurt the other...I don't mind you being friends..but anything more is forbidden, is this understood" said George.

"Yes sir," they all said.

"What about friends with benefits," asked a smirking Ewan.

"Ha ha, well...as long as I don't hear of it, and it doesn't affect of your acting," said George.

"Oh trust me, it won't," Ewan said winking at Rose Byrne, the actress who plays Dorme.

"Well is that all, I don't mean to be rude, I just want to get to my trailer and rest, since we have a big day tomorrow..." asked Hayden.

"Yes, that's a great idea..You are all free to go," said George standing up and heading towards the door..."Feel free to stay here and get to know each other..."

"Well I'm out of here..see ya tomorrow everyone" said Ewan with his arm around Rose's waist.

Hayden gets up at reaches for his script when he brushes hands with someone, he looks up and finds himself drowning in a pair of beautiful chocolate brown eyes, an angel in fact..."Hi..." says Hayden.

"Hey...is this your script...i'm sorry..I thought it was mine..silly me...I already put mine in my bag," said Natalie smiling.

"No, its ok...simple mistake...aren't you...Natalie, from the testing.." says Hayden.

"Yeah, oh my gosh..you're the one who tried out for Anakin,Hayden right..well I see you got the part...." exclaims Natalie.

"Yeah, and you must be Padme right? I remember seeing you in the first movie.." asks Hayden.

"That's right..wow, you remember me...well I take that as a compliment, its not every day that someone is remembered by the great Anakin Skywalker..." teases Natalie. Hayden lightly blushes..

"Well I better get going..got to get some rest..and all," says Hayden.

"Yeah, I should too, but it was nice meeting you" says Natalie.

"Nice meeting you too..See you around," says Hayden, then he heads out the door and goes to his trailer. Natalie does the same but goes to her trailer. Hayden falls asleep dreaming of that brown-eyed angel who, at the time he didn't know, had captured his heart.

This is the update...



The next morning Hayden awoke to the sun shining in his eyes. He gets out of bed and heads to his bathroom to freshen up before he heads out to the studio.

He runs his hands through his newly "padawan" cut hair and looks at his face in the mirror, "I need a shave. I don't think padawans are allowed a beard," he thinks to himself, "I guess i better go ahead and do it, then shower." So he shaves and then steps into the shower. When he is just stepping out he hears a knock on his door. Forgetting he is just in his towel, he goes to answer it. He opens the door and sees Natalie.

"Oh hey Natalie, how's it going," asks Hayden still unaware he is just in his towel.

"Oh, um..I-i-i'm fine.. Err..George sent me..he sent me to come get you..I guess I caught you at the wrong time." says Natalie blushing heavily because she is seeing Hayden in a towel and some thoughts are running through her head. She thinks to herself, "God he has a nice body, nice tan...wait stop..I can't be thinking like this..I have to work with him," thinks Natalie to herself.

"Wrong time..what do you.." he looks down and sees that he forgot to change, "Oh my..I am so sorry, I didn't think..Um..I'll be right there.um...excuse me." says Hayden awkwardly and blushing, then he goes back to his room and changes.

When he comes back he finds her waiting there. He says, "You didn't have to wait on me, I don't want you to be late too."

"Well I didn't want to find out what would happen if I came back without you so I decided to wait," explains Natalie.

He steps out of his trailer and they began walking to the studio. "Oh well thanks.." Hayden says.

"You're welcome," she answers back...They continue on with a slighty uncomfortable silence with what had happened stilll fresh on their minds.

Hayden tries to clear it up, "I'm sorry by the way, for what happened back there...I didn't think..."

"Oh its ok..i mean...it was a honest mistake...besides, it wasn't So terrible," says Natalie

Hayden smiles back and says, "So you didn't mind the view,"

She blushes but answers, "No...not really, you have a nice tan" Hayden then laughs..soon after she laughs with him. Then they fall into a comfortable silence and soon reach the studio.

George rounded on them as soon as they step foot in the studio.

"Where have you been?! Do you have any clue as to what time it is? Natalie, you should know better. You've been here before..don't you know your way around here by now? What were you doing, I sent you to get him..not stay out all day!!" ranted George.

"I'm sor..." began Natalie before Hayden butted in. Hayden felt this protective urge come over him when George yelled at Natalie..He couldn't explain it.

"Now wait a minute here. First of all its not her fault, its mine.. I was taking a shower then I had to shave and she politely waited for me rather risk showing up back here without me..so secondly, the only one here who deserves getting yelled at is me..Not her...so don't put this on her.." defended Hayden.

"Sorry guys..sorry Nat I had no right to yell at you like that...can you forgive an cranky director." asks George.

"Yeah, i forgive you..but you did have one good point..I am used to it around here..including your little rants.." says Natalie. Everyone has a good laugh.

"Alright, alright..now let's get to work people.I trust you all looked over your scripts last night' at everyone's guilty looks.. "That's what I thought.scripts are like homework, everyone gets it, but they don't do it.Don't worry about the acting part right now..let's just get a feel for the script. So reading only unless I say otherwise.." directs George.

"Which scene would you like us to do?" asks Ewan.

"Uhh, well...let's do the apartment scene..That one introduces Anakin and Obi-Wan. Everyone ready...aaannndd..Action" says George.

"You seem a little on edge.." begins Ewan.

"Not at all," says Hayden.

"I haven't felt you this tense, since we fell into that nest of gundarks," say Ewan.

"You fell into that nightmare Master and I rescued you, remember" reads Hayden.

"Oh...yes," says Ewan. They both lightly chuckle. "You're sweating, relax...take a deep breath."

"I haven't seen her in ten years Master," says Hayden.

"Good, very good job guys..it seems someone did their homework after all..Next scene..the meadows in Naboo..where Anakin and Padme are having a picnic lunch.." directs George. "Ready and Action.."

"I don't know," says Natalie

"Sure you do, you just don't want to tell me, " says Hayden.

"Are you going to use one of your Jedi mind tricks on me?" asks Natalie.

"They only work on the weak minded," says Hayden..he thinks "and she is Anything but weak minded..whoa, where'd that come from..."

"Alright, I was 12..His name was Palo. We were both in the legislative youth program. He was a few years older than I, very cute. Dark curly hair..dreamy eyes." says Natalie..She is shocked by the jealous look in his eyes, "He can't be jealous, i'm just fooling myself..Wait, why would i have to fool myself..I don't like him...do I...No..i don't like him..at least...i don't think I do..Why am I arguing with myself." Natalie thinks to herself.

"Alright I get the picture...whatever happened to him," says Hayden..He is suprised to hear jealousy in his tone..."but then again, who wouldn't be..I mean..she is pretty...she has those wonderful eyes..and...Wait..whoa..slow the roll there Hayden..i can't like her...can I..no..hmm..then why..No..i don't like her...I Can't like her...at least..I don't think I can..she's just a friend..right" he says to himself.


"Ok, that's good...You both did very well in that...Great job with that line Hayden...you seemed to put real emotion into that one..Ok, let's run the one when Anakin and Padme first arrive at the retreat..and you can do a bit of the acting in this one..even this kiss..I want to make sure you both can get it right..and Action" says George. Haden and Natalie both had butterflies in their stomachs and turned and gave each other a nervous smile. They had to move closer together so they could do the kiss when it came time for it..which only served to increase the nervousness they felt.

"We used to come here for school retreat..We would swim to that island everyday. I love the water..We used to lie out on the sand and let the sun dry us and try to guess the name of the birds singing." says Natalie.

"I don't like sand. It's course and rough and irritating..and it gets everywhere. Not like here..here everything is soft and smooth.." He then faces Natalie and leans down...finally after what seems like an enternity..their lips touch..it ignites something inside them and they both have to fight not to deepen it anymore..It sets off a chain reaction of feelings in both of them...then Natalie breaks the kiss.

"No, I shouldn't have done that." says Natalie. "I Really shouldn't have done that...damn it why does he have to be so sexy..especially now" she says to herself.

"I'm sorry," says Hayden..he is thinking, "Man..I can't believe..Why..damn it...I thought I didn't like her but now...her kiss..I can't get it out of my mind..she's so beautiful..so soft.."

"Great job..I can see you two can get through that scene just fine..., OK I think that's enough for now..take a lunch break and be back here in two hours.." says George, then he leaves..

The rest start piling out of them room. Hayden reaches out to Natalie and stops her from leaving.

"Yes Hayden.." says Natalie impatiently because she is wanting to get as far away from him as possible..afraid of the feelings she is having..like she wants to jump him and kiss him senseless..

"Umm..well..I was just wondering..about that kiss..I mean...ahh..its not going to be awkward between us now is it..because, we do have to work together..A lot." says Hayden.

"No, of course its not going to be awkward..it was Acting after all wasn't it...part of our job.." says Natalie..trying to convince herself it was Just acting..

"Yes..acting..job..right...well glad we got that cleared up.." they walk to the door..he bows and holds his arm out.."After you Milady." says Hayden.

"Oh you..' she swats his arm, "Very well..Thank you my kind Jedi."

"You're quite welcome Senator." says Hayden. They both exit the room.

Hayden is eating lunch with Ewan, sitting at a table not far from where Natalie and Rose are sitting. Hayden is looking over at Nat.

"Hey, you there man," asked Ewan waving his hands in front of Hayden's face.

"Wha..oh..sorry, got lost in my thoughts there for a minute, got distracted..my bad," said Hayden turning back to his food.

"Hmm, so what you thinking about that's got you so deep in thought...or should I say whom?" said a smirking Ewan, leaning back in his chair with his arms crossed.

"Oh it's nothing..just thinking about some scenes we did today..that's all" replies Hayden.

"Ooh...I gotcha..." says Ewan.

"Got what??" Hayden asks hesitantly.

"You were thinking about that kiss weren't you..." says Ewan.

"No...well..yes..is it that obvious.." says Hayden slightly embarrassed at being caught.

"Well, I don't blame you, with a girl like Nat, it would be hard to not think about her..." says Ewan.

"Yeah..well..I'm not supposed to..its against the rules.." Hayden says, a bit sadly.

"Have you tried not to think about her?" asks Ewan.

"Yeah, believe me..I wish I could just not think about her..but its like I can't...She's got this hold on me..and she doesn't even know it." says Hayden. He watches Nat and Rose leave before turning back to Ewan.

"What exactley is going on between you two anyways.." says Ewan.

"Nothing, nothing at all...I could ask the same of Rose and you.." Hayden shoots back.

"Well...its complicated..I mean..I've never had a girl like Rose before..its usually just..easy..no real feelings are put into my relationships..but with her..its different..I feel something more for her..i'm not sure if its love though..So don't go spreading things like I've gone soft and all..might ruin my rep.." says Ewan

Hayden laughs, "Ok I won't..as long as you don't go saying anything to Nat..."

"Jedi's honor," says Ewan.

"Ha ha..very funny..Oh shoot..we got to go..Lucas will kill me if I'm late again.." says Hayden looking at his watch.

"Alright man, let's go.." say Ewan. They head out the door and head back to the studio. The rest of the day was a breeze as they just ran some more scenes. Though Hayden felt it took forever. He was always losing his concentration and just getting it back in time for his lines. His thoughts were mainly focused on Natalie. If he were paying better attention then he would have felt a pair of chocolate brown eyes watching him, finding the day just as long and having difficulties concentrating just the same as him.

I'm sorry guys...i know i said I'd work on the story over the weekend..well..My great-uncle has been very sick recently..this weekend it got worse..He passed away yesterday...We were really close, he lives across the road from me he used to come over all the time...anyways..I haven't felt like writing much..I will get back on it though...I just wanted to let ya'll know, I'm not gonna abandon this story or anything..I love this site and its people too much to do that..

The next morning was filled with everyone rushing around getting bags packed and last minute things tied up. Lucas decided to go to Italy to film the lake scenes first. Everyone met in the lobby waiting for the limos that would take them to the airport where they would catch a flight to Lake Como, Italy. They would each pair up and take several small planes. George and Rick were flying in the first one. The cast, camera, make-up, and designer crew were divided into the rest. Ewan jumped at the chance to pair up with Rose. Therefore leaving Hayden and Natalie to ride together…

“Well, best get going…Here let me take your bags,” said Hayden.

“Yes and thank you,” replied Natalie. Neither of them said anything on the way to the plane. The events of yesterday still fresh on both their minds. Once arriving at the plane, Natalie immediately got in and Hayden put their bags in the compartment and got in as well. She was sitting on the opposite side...as far away as she could get…Hayden got the side with the view…Half of the trip was completed and Hayden was trying to come up with some conversation, but he couldn’t seem to find anything.

“Are you sure your okay?” he asked.

Startled at hearing his voice, “Y-yeah...why wouldn’t I be?” she asked snappishly.

“No need to get all defensive…I was just asking…” said Hayden. He looked away.

“I’m sorry Hayden...its just…I..well...I have these feelings for someone and…well…I’m not really sure I should...its against the rules...plus I don’t know if he feels the same and ummph…” said Natalie getting cut off..

Hayden listened to her but when he heard that she liked someone he felt a jealously build up inside him… “What!! Who could it be…man…I thought she might…ha…I should have known…she couldn’t like me…I just knew…wait...did she say it was against the rules…could she like me…I wonder…hmm…maybe this will stop her rambling..” He leans forward and kisses her…He was right it works almost instantly. Then when he pulls back he asks, “Ok, were you talking about me, because I really like you and all…if you weren’t then I just made a mis…oomph” he never finished because a teary chocolate eyed woman launched herself in his arms and kissed him all over his face; his cheeks, his nose, then his lips. They pulled away when they needed air but didn’t move from their embrace. “So it’s safe to say I wasn’t wrong…for once,” asks Hayden.

She laughs, “Yes…in fact you were very right this time…I really like you too Hayden…What are we going to do about George?” Natalie replies.

“I don’t know, but for right now let’s just enjoy the ride…” Hayden says.

“Hmm…good idea,” Natalie says. She lays her head on his chest on looks out the window to enjoy the view.

“Yes, I seem to be having a lot of those lately,” Hayden says. He places a kiss on her head before turning to look out the window.

Sorry guys..I know..I know..i keep coming on here with these things..but see I'm moving back into my old house (i was with my grandma) and we haven't go the computer over there..and i'm limited with the time i have..and my dog died today too...he's in a better place..not suffering anymore..playing with that big juicy bone..anyways,,it might be a little while before i get to write..but i am working on it..so don't give up on me..

Well I'm back...Hope you like it!! It might not be as long as it should but hopefully enough..

They arrived on location and immediately started setting up. Both, Natalie and Hayden, were drug to their separate costume trailers, so they had no time to say good-bye like they would have liked.

“I’ll see you on set,” said Natalie. Though her eyes were saying what she wanted to say, “I wish we could spend more time together before…”

“Ok, better get your lines right Senator…” said Hayden teasingly. His eyes responded, “I know, me too...but this is how it has to be for now,”

“Oh I think it’s you who has to worry...aren’t you still a Padawan Learner...” she shot back.

“Ok, ok…point taken…see you,” replied Hayden. They both went off.

In Natalie’s trailer, her mind was going in so many directions at once. “I can’t believe…Hayden and I are going out…When just a few hours ago I had resolved to keep my feelings hidden…Wow…I love him…I miss him already…We can’t let George find out, he’ll kick us both out…I don’t want that…What if he regrets it...What if…” The assistant was trying to get her attention but she wasn’t focused…

“Ma’am…You’re finished…you can go to the set now…”

“I’m sorry what…I was lost in my thoughts,” said a startled Natalie.

“We’re done, so you can go to the set now…”

“Oh, thank you…” She stepped out of the trailer and was walking towards the set when, as she rounded the corner, a hand reached out and grabbed her… “What in the…” She was about to punch this person in the gut when she realized… “Hayden!”

“Shhh, keep your voice down…They might hear us…” whispered Hayden.
“What are you doing…Aren’t you afraid they might catch us,” said Natalie.

“Ah, I laugh in the face of danger…hahaha…” said Hayden with a serious face.

“OK, that was…corny yet amusing…” replied Natalie

“Nah, I’m just kidding, everyone’s already on set…waiting for us…” said Hayden.

“Well then we shouldn’t keep them waiting should we,” she starts to walk away but Hayden brings her back into his arms.

“I think they can wait a few minutes…Don’t you…I’ve missed you…Haven’t you missed me,” said Hayden with his puppy dog face

“oh come on, that is so not fair…I can’t resist that face…and you know I missed you…so yeah they can wait…”

With a grin on his face, “Good,” he brings his lips to meet hers and they both feel like they are home again…They break the kiss for the need of air.

“Ok let’s get going…we’ve got a whole day to shoot and I can’t wait to get you alone again,” said Natalie.

“Ooo can’t resist the Christensen charm can you…”

“Oh hush you,” swats his arm…then walks off to the set.

“This is going to be a long day,” mutters Hayden before he follows Natalie to the set.

When they arrived they immediately were told to go to their places on set.

They sat in the boat waiting for the cue to begin. Natalie and Hayden’s mind were both deep in thought, thinking the same things, “How will we hide this now? Will they be able to notice or will they think that we are really dedicated to our work?” , that they didn’t hear George yell action.

“Action…….ACTION,” yelled George. They both jumped. “Back in the land of the living…good, now if you are both ready...Action,”

Hayden helped Natalie out of the boat then they both walked to the veranda.

Finally their lips met and as before, when they had practiced this scene, both had to fight not to deepen it anymore than the script allowed. She thought she had died and went to heaven when..

“And……..Cut!” said George, “That was great. We’ll go over it again later to trim the rough edges but other than that it was perfect. The both of you are really dedicated to your work. It looked so real. That’s what I call acting.”

Hayden began with an uneasy laugh, “Thanks…I learned from the best here,” putting an arm around Natalie’s shoulder in a friendly gesture. I just follow her lead, so if anyone here should get the credit for that…it’s her,”

“Now don’t let this guy sweet talk you here. He’s a very talented actor in his own right; he doesn’t need me to lead him. He’s a quick learner.” said Natalie.

“Well, she’s very beautiful George, Don’t you agree…So you can understand when I say it wasn’t hard for me to look at her with loving eyes,”

“Well I say you are both talented, so go practice the next scene you both have during the break,” said George.

“Thanks..,” George walks away, “So Natalie, where do you want to go practice?” asked Hayden.

“Umm…in your trailer I guess,” said Natalie.

“Alright,” said Hayden. Then he put his arm around her shoulder again and led her to his trailer.

Once they were in his trailer Natalie visibly relaxed, “That was close,”

“What do you mean Nat?”

“I thought for sure he was going to say something about that,” said Natalie, sitting on Hayden’s pullout couch.

“About what…The scene or what I said??” asked Hayden, sitting beside her. He pulled her on his lap.

She leaned back into him, “Both…we need to be more careful with remarks like that…,”

“I know…I couldn’t help it and it’s the truth…I love you so it isn’t hard for me to look at you like that,”

“I love you too,” said Natalie, “So how about we practice that kiss one more time. Just for perfection’s sake,”

“Of course, milady,” said Hayden. Then he leaned down and gently captured her lips with his.

A few minutes later a loud knocking on the door split them apart, “Hey, are you in there Hayden!!!” shouted Ewan.

“Uh, yeah...just give me a few minutes…” Hayden said. He jumps up straightening himself and motions to Natalie to do the same.

“A few minutes? Alright, but you better hurry…George is coming this way…he wants to talk with you about something…” said Ewan.

“WHAT!!!” shouted Hayden. Natalie looked at him with fear in her eyes. “Don’t worry, we won’t get caught…I have a plan…” He bends down and kisses her gently. He whispers I love you. He leads her to the back door of his trailer.

“I love you too,” she whispers. Then she sneaks away back to her trailer.

“Hayden?? You in here??” asks George stepping into the trailer.

He comes back into the room, “Oh yeah…I just thought I saw something in the back…went to check it out,” said Hayden.

“Uh huh…well listen…That was a great performance Natalie and you did today…I hope to see more like that…but uh well some of the guys around here seem to think it was just more than acting…” at Hayden’s wide-eyed look “I told them that was nonsense, that you both care about your career and you wouldn’t jeopardize it…especially since I specifically told everyone that was against the rules.”

“Yeah, of course…Psh…Natalie and me, where do they get that idea from…We’re just really good friends, nothing more… said Hayden nervously.

“Good, that’s exactly what I like to hear…Well go get Natalie and let’s begin the next scene.” said George. “Be there in 15 minutes.”

“Yes sir,” said Hayden. As soon as George left he let out a relieved breath. “That was close.” He his trailer and went to Natalie’s to find her in tears on her couch. “Nat…what’s wrong..” She flew into his arms.

“That was close…we almost got caught…” Nat said.

“Yeah, but we didn’t…but that can’t be all that’s upsetting you…” said Hayden.

“Well…it’s just…I got this letter today…” she began.

“Hey, you know you can tell me anything…” he said soothingly. He sat down on the couch and pulled her close.

“There was this guy, he grew up with me…He liked me a lot…I used to like him, but then I grew up and I didn’t anymore, I tried telling him …He kept pushing that we were supposed to be together…it got to be so bad that I moved away…and he’s found me again…Hayden I’m scared…I don’t know what to do…” she sobbed into his chest. Hayden’s hold on her tightened to show he was there…that she wasn’t alone.

“Hey…I’m here now…I won’t anyone hurt you. I’ll protect you always. He’s not going to get to you…I promise,” he said strongly.

“Thank you Hayden. Don’t let him get me…please…” said Natalie.

“I won’t…He can’t get to you as long as I’m here…” said Hayden. “Now, let’s dry those beautiful eyes of yours…We have some work to do…” He kissed the top of her head. They got up; Natalie washed her face to rid it of tears.

“I got your cloak all wet, what will they say?” asked Nat.

“Ah…I had an accident…I spilt some water on myself…They won’t care,” said Hayden smiling.

“Think they’ll believe that?” she asked.

“Well, I use a Jedi mind trick on them…then they’ll have to believe,” said Hayden smirking.

“I thought mind tricks only work on the weak minded?”

“Who says?” ask Hayden.

“Well you do mister…In this next scene we’re about to shoot,” she teased.

“Ah…well you got me there…” said Hayden.
