Chapter 31

With Hayden’s strong hands firmly held on her small waist, Natalie leaned forward so she could recognise the dark, dirty, sweaty figure, “Jude? What happened?” she asked as he edged more forward, “I’m a mess because I am lost with you” he lied, hoping that she would feel sympathy and run back into his arms, but she didn’t move, holding on to Hayden’s hands tightly while he saw through his lie, “Oh please, you are so pathetic. You’re the one who was threatening her” Hayden laughed, seeing Jude crept further and further into the candle lit church, “You stole her from me and I am claiming her back” he angrily back as Hayden edged back, his hands still holding onto her waist, “Claiming her? She’s not your property. She chose who she wants and now it’s too late” he informed him, as Jude laughed, “Only because you’re stupid drunk friends helped you” he replied as another voice filled the room, “Hayden! How could you do this!?!” they exclaimed as they all craned their heads past Jude to see a young, brunette standing there, her eyes red with tiredness, gasping for breath and wiping her face of sweat, edging closer towards where Jude stood.

“How could you? You assured me that you would never leave me and now look what happened?” she asked as Hayden looked down at his beautiful, loving wife, “I changed my feelings and discovered my true feelings once again” he smiled, pulling her in for another soft kiss as Jude roared, “Stop kissing my finance!” as Natalie turned in his direction, “Jude, I thought I already made it clear to you. I’ll never go back to you” she smirked, before the sound of another pair of footsteps echoed through the church and Hayden, Natalie, Ewan, Nicole and Mischa wandered who else could possibly be here apart from Jude and Rachel. Little did they know, they would be grateful for the friendly warning for what Jude and Rachel were planning to do?

The two friends paused right outside the huge, dark, dimly lit church, almost out of breath, “Okay, so we saw them go inside, but no signs of trouble yet” the second friend spoke up as their friend nodded, “Yeah, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t start” they replied, “But they had no weapons on them so how could trouble start?” they asked, “Correction, no weapons that we could see, it didn’t mean that they had hidden weapons on them” they corrected their friend, tiptoeing towards the church’s large doors and softly pushing them open, before creeping in, voices in the main hall of the church could be heard becoming louder and louder.

“This is insane! All I wanted was a nice time in Rome with my girlfriend while attending my movie’s premiere and no, her ex has to show up at the same time and confuse her feelings, before running off with him!” Jude shouted as Natalie held her gaze firm, “Things happened and you need to accept that I’ve changed. I’ve made my own decisions and I’m happy” she smiled, “Besides after what you’ve done, I’m glad I’m not with you and I hope I hurt you a lot when I kicked you” she smirked, seeing him shake his head angrily, “That was not funny, yes it did hurt and I only did those things because I love you” he pleaded, dropping to his knees, as Hayden rolled his eyes, “Oh, my god” he muttered, “Please, look in your heart, take me back. I’m lost with you” he begged as Natalie laughed, “You were going fine before you met me, in fact, I remember you were engaged” she reminded him, “So, get up off your weak knees and get out. You’ve ruined a perfect ending to a perfect wedding” she angrily told him. Nicole, Mischa, Hayden and Ewan slightly stepped back, no of them had ever seen her this angry before-a different side to her, watching Jude pull himself up, Rachel standing at his side, her eyes darting back and forth from Hayden to Natalie to Jude, who looked away in defeat, “You can’t tell me you’re not leaving without a fight!” she yelled, “Because I will!” she added, edging forward, not before the sound of the second pair of wooden doors hit the cream coloured walls and two more voices filled the quiet, church.

“Run now before she gets more closer!” warned the voice, all eyes flew over to the doors, where a young boy, no older than 18, stood next to a girl no less than 17, dressed in light blue jeans, he wore a black shirt under a thick, warm, coat while she had a light, white blouse under a soft, baby blue warm coat, “They’re going to try to destroy you” the voice added as Rachel glared at the new figures, “Excuse me, what are you doing here? This is a private meeting and does not involve you two” she informed them as he snorted, “It does when you are loudly avenging your plans in a local bar a few hours ago. You’re lucky no one else heard” he pointed out as Ewan, trying to stand, waved his arms in the air, “I know you’re trying to warn us but who are you exactly?” he asked curiously as his friend laughed, “We should have done that first. Allow me, my name is Emma and this is my best friend Daniel. We are here on a little stop over and we were relaxing in a bar only to overhear these two plotting to ruin your lives…again?” she asked out loud as her friend continued, “I wanted to follow them, to try and see if we could warn you first , now we’re lucky we did get here” Daniel admitted, watching every one stare at him, “I guess we should be thankful for the warning” Natalie smiled, before turning to Hayden, “We should be leaving now” she noted, “Oh like hell you are! You’re coming with me right now!” Jude roared, not seeing Daniel or Emma slowly move around the sides and round the front, where he pulled out pieces of shoelaces from his boots, tying one end to a church pew near him and Emma, tying the other end to the pew near her, smiling cheekily, they slowly wormed their way to where Hayden and Natalie stood, “I thought I told you to leave. I’m not coming with you” she spat, seeing him edge closer, “How dare you defy……” he did not finish, because he had tripped over the shoelace not too far from him, and he went down.

Daniel and Emma spun round to the others, “Now’s your chance go!” Daniel told them, all of them agreeing, “How do we get past them?” Mischa asked, before Emma noted a smaller, side door behind Ewan, “There, behind your other friend. It should be a back way out” she pointed out, watching them spin around and run for the door, Nicole stopped, “Do you want to come with us? After all, you just saved us from more trouble” she told them, as Daniel looked back at where Jude fell, now being helped by Rachel, but Emma spoke before him, “I think it might be wise” she answered, running after Nicole, the candles still flicking giving a light breeze with the quick, slam of the side door.

“You idiot! How could you not see that!?!” she exclaimed, roughly helping him up, before slapping his left arm, “You are so stupid! I was following you that I saw the rope and stopped” she added, as he looked at her, “Could have warn me” he snarled, as she smiled, “You needed to learn from your mistakes” she smiled, looking back the front, “And now they’re gone, along with those two intervening teenagers” she snapped as he followed her gaze, “Oh damn it! Who do those teenagers think they are?” he snapped as Rachel suddenly realised who they were, “Only two of the richest teenagers around today” she muttered, whispering into his ear, who they are, “That’s them? I thought they would be older than that” he snorted as Rachel moaned, “Come on, we have to try and catch after them” she told him, spinning on her heels and darting out of the dimly lit church.

The star twinkled in the dark, navy blue sky; the music filled the city streets as group dashed through the streets, or rather stumbled. They were too far away to make to Nicole’s house and Hayden and Natalie’s hotel, and they needed a place to stay. “So how far to your hotel?” Daniel asked the group after stopping for a quick catch of breath, “I have no idea from here” Hayden replied as Emma spoke up, “Dan, why don’t we just go back to our hotel. It’s not far and your “friends” will never think to find you there” she suggested as Mischa piped up, “How are you sure they won’t think to think about that?” she asked as Emma went on, “They might think we go our separate ways after helping you” she answered, “Good point, okay lead the way” Natalie told them as Daniel moved out to signal for a taxi as Nicole gasped, “if we can sneak back to the church, three of us can take my car to the hotel” she explained, “Good idea, okay, Emma, you go with them and I’ll stay with the others” Daniel told her, “And who is that, by the way?” Emma asked politely, “Hayden, Natalie and I think Ewan because he’s still a little drunk” Nicole laughed as Emma agreed, “Okay, we’ll see you back at the hotel” she told them, just as a taxi pulled up and Daniel ushered Hayden, Natalie and Ewan inside ducking in before the cab drove off and Nicole, Emma and Mischa ran back in the direction for the church and her car, using the empty, darker streets for cover.

“Once again, they are gone and we are back where we started” she grunted as Jude looked up and down the mildly quiet street, “I still can’t believe who those kids are” he sighed, as Rachel turned her head over to him, her brown hair flicking over her shoulder, “Is that all you can think about? What about going after our friends, they are meddling in our business those damn rich teens” she spat again, kicking a small, grey stoned pebble across the dark, quiet street, then it hit her, “Wait a minute, we know where Hayden and Natalie’s hotel is because we stood outside it, let’s see if we can try and get in and wait for them or surprise them” she smirked as Jude became more brighter, “That’s using your head, alright let’s go” he told her, running over to a parked, empty, taxi.

The taxi sharply turned another corner and the four once again, slide roughly down the back seat. Once regaining a normal position, Natalie looked over at Daniel, “Once again, we can’t thank you enough, for doing what you did back there. I mean, you decided to help complete strangers you barely met from more trouble” she explained as Daniel let out a slight smile, “It was nothing. I just wanted to help out” he replied as Hayden kindly slapped him on the back, “We appreciate it. One we can call a friend, you and your friend” he assured him, “Thanks’ Daniel smiled as the taxi came to sharp halt right outside the hotel and they all climbed out, racing inside and right past the lobby and upstairs into the hotel room.

It was one amazing room, a long carpet hallway stretched down to the back living room, a small kitchen off to the side, three bedrooms to the right but only one large bathroom. That didn’t matter as Daniel and Ewan entered the room, “How come they give the good hotels to the young ones?” Ewan asked, staring in awe as a sound of laughter filled the hall and both turned to see Natalie, giggling with her long, think arms around Hayden’s neck as he carried her in, “Well, it’s not ours but we can still make it romantic” he assured her as Daniel laughed, “You’re the guests here and since you two are the newlyweds, you can have the master suite” he offered, leading them down the carpet hallway, into the bedroom, “This is incredible. Thanks very much” he told him once more as he placed Natalie down on the bed, only to see her get up, and softly kiss Daniel lightly on the cheek, “You have done too much and I wanted to thank you more” she smiled, smiling as Hayden wrapped his arms around her waist, sharing a sweet, romantic kiss as the moderate sized white door slowly closed behind them.

Daniel lifted a strong hand to his cheek, where she had softly kissed him, it was unprepared for but worth it, her lips were so soft as he slowly turned back around, he heard, “We’re here!” came the cheerful voice and down the hall, came Emma, Nicole and Mischa, “Where is everyone?” Nicole asked, while Emma noticed the grin on her friend’s face, “Daniel? What happened?” Emma smirked, “Nothing. The newlyweds are in this room and the other one, “I don’t know where he went” he admitted before they heard, “Right here” came a groggy voice appearing round the bathroom, “I’ll be in here for another hour” he smiled as Nicole rolled her eyes as Mischa replied, “Serves you right for getting too drunk” as Emma and Daniel laughed, “We didn’t get your names before?” Daniel asked as Nicole laughed, slipping out of her lovely, purple heels, “Sorry about that. I’m Nicole, this is Mischa. The one in the bathroom is Ewan and the newlyweds are Hayden and Natalie” she informed them as Emma and Daniel felt very awkward, or rather star stuck, “It is unbelievable when we saw you guys at the church. We can’t believe it’s you” Emma gushed as Mischa smiled, “Like wise, you guys have made names for yourselves at younger ages than we were when we recognised” she told them, heading off into the kitchen as Nicole agreed, “And I’m sure that they’ve been thanking you for warning us” she added as Emma looked over at Daniel who was till thinking about his light kiss from Natalie, “Yes, they did, very grateful” he answered, moving over to the lovely, cushy lounge with Emma while Mischa brought over the drinks, and they spent their time, laughing and chatting, informing Daniel and Emma about Jude and Rachel and their troubles while Ewan was stuck in the bathroom and Hayden and Natalie started their honeymoon “fun”

Rachel kicked the small otter out of her way as she barged into the room, “I told you if we said we were relatives of them they would let us in and it did” she proudly boasted, strolling around the room, knocking stuff off the tables and lounge as she went as Jude moved to the centre of the room, “I don’t know. I don’t think they will come here. I mean surely they went to one of their friend’s places” Jude sighed as Rachel moaned once more, “You are so negative. Most of their stuff is here, they have to come back for that and then we will get them” she informed him as she entered the small kitchen for some refreshments, “Make yourself comfortable” she told him, “We earned it” she added, handing him a glass of cold, white wine.

The grassy plains of Europe stretch on for miles as the three horses whipped across the grass, tearing it up as they galloped across the lands, the castle becoming further and further away and a smaller village was coming into view. Knowing they could be safe, they rode into the town, welcomed by the stares of who was with them-a knight from King Jude’s army and the princess he chose to marry. What trouble have they done to have them come to their town? As the horses slowly trotted through the village to the back stables, Natalie suddenly had a bad feeling that they shouldn’t be here, “Hayden, we can’t be here. What if they come for us?” she asked her voice shaky as he gently and warmly pulled her in to his embrace, “It will be alright. I’m here to protect you and I promise that nothing will happen. We should be safe here. We’re miles away from the castle” he assured her watching Ewan help Nicole down, sharing a loving kiss together and Mischa help Ashley down, holding onto her on her hip as they moved from the stables, “We should find the motel to stay at” Ewan spoke up, “Good idea” Hayden agreed as they silently moved through the town, the stares from the local villagers made them feel like outsiders or criminals, which in fact, they were not, just looking for refuge.

Finding the hotel, was a problem, before they had gotten someone to talk to them then they were right to go, entering the small, two storied hotel, they used different names in case, someone was over listening or for future reference so no one was a traitor to turn them. “Okay, you can all have the first two room next door to each other, upstairs and first two on your right” the innkeeper informed them, eyeing them suspiciously but continued on with his work as they headed up the stairs and into their room, “We should be safe here” Hayden told them before Ashley started to cry, “What’s wrong?” Mischa asked as Hayden moved over to his sisters, “I…miss…mummy and daddy” she cried, burying her head in Mischa’s already darken white dress, “Oh, it’s okay, we’ll see them again. They’re probably looking for us too, but you still have us and our friends” she assured her sister, still crying into her dress, “Maybe she might need to sleep?” Hayden suggested, “Thanks, I’ll try that” Mischa replied, cradling her sister gently and moving over to one of double, white, beds and gently laying against the softness of the pillows, laying with her, talking softly and singing soft songs she knew Ashley loved.

Natalie smiled, it was nice to see how he loved his siblings, her family had been torn apart by Jude’s declared love for her, throwing her family in terror, dividing them across their own kingdom and prisons. She looked over at Ewan, she was surprise to see him helping them because he was one of the knights who destroyed her family and snatched her from her family, and seeing him made her wonder if he had change. Feeling her eyes begin to swell with tears, she was startled when a strong pair of arms wrapped around her, “You looked lonely so I thought I come over to comfort you, beautiful” Hayden told her as she smiled, “I love you. I was just thinking of my family and what’s happened so far” she admitted as he slowly turned her around, “I love you too and I will help you rescue your family and finally marry you” he assured her, holding her firmly and pulling her into a soft, passionate kiss.

“You should never be allowed to be a leader of your men!” Rachel shouted as she sat on her throne next to Jude, her’s was smaller and it should have been her sitting in his chair but the little peasant played a trick and ran off and the knights returned with no word or where they had gone to because they were too slow to catch up, “They took the faster horses and had a head start. We searched all the surrounding villages and no sign of them. We need more leads, maybe someone will come forward, then we go straight after them” the leader replied as she waved her hand, “You better because Jude can’t wait any longer” she snapped. She was forming her own plan: she didn’t need the peasant any more, he would be dead, the princess with the king then she would have it arranged they die in their sleep and she would be Queen, at long last. Turning to Jude, she sighed, “I know you’re upset but do you really need her as a Queen. There are others who want to love you” she told him, seductively stroking his arm, but he brushed her off, moving away, “No, I can’t. I want her. When I saw with her family in her kingdom, I knew she would be mine. I will have her!” he declared, strolling down the long, red carpet as Rachel just sat there, smirking, “Think all you want. You know it’s not going to happen. That you will fail and I will be Queen” she muttered to herself, moving up to his seat, so cushy and roomy-perfect fit-for a Queen, she thought.

While Hayden, Natalie and their friends and family hid away from the people in the village, the villagers were keen to try and sneak a peek of them. It was not everyday, royals were in their village only to cause trouble and their appearance feared them for their safety, but not for two of the older children in the village, always been fascinated to live in royalty. They wanted to be their friends, as they edged along the side of the motel, “This is not good. They want private and my friends said that they get really angry if they see people sneaking around” one friend spoke as the other laughed, “What do they have to hide?” they asked, “Now come on, my cousin works in the food area, he’ll help us sneak in, maybe we could help out” they told their friend as their friend looked nervous, “I don’t know. This is a bad idea, Daniel” Emma told him as he laughed, “Come on, you’ve always wanted to get out of this village. Now’s our chance” he told her, sneaking up to the kitchen door and popped in followed by his friend.

Natalie stood at the small, but clear glass window with Hayden’s strong arms wrapped around her, “I wish we could hide here forever” she sighed as he placed his head on top of her’s “I know me too, but maybe we can find another place where we are much safer” he assured her as she sighed, “Oh Hayden, I just want you to hold me, like you always have, and never leave me” she told him, “I never will. I will always be with you” he promised, spinning her around from the view out of the window, into a sweet, strong embrace making her feel safe as she could hear his strong heart beat inside.

Chapter 32

The relaxed atmosphere of the hotel certainly was the mood in one hotel room, a few floors up, Daniel and Emma spent most of their night with Nicole and Mischa chattering, as Daniel and Emma discovered there was more their other friends than what happened at the church. They had not seen Ewan and was so worried, only to find him passed out in the bathroom and Hayden and Natalie still in their room, deciding to have a peek, and they found both of them asleep, they looked so cute together, Natalie’s head resting against his strong chest, his right arm placed on her back while his left fingers twirled through her soft, brown hair, the flowers clearly visible, their eyes were softly closed as Daniel, Emma, Nicole and Mischa all smiled before re-closing the door and moving back to the lounge room/kitchen for some breakfast.

Awaking in the neatly cleaned cream tiled bathroom, his head pounding, Ewan looked around, his eyes feeling so tired, and slowly rising to his feet, he headed over to the doorway, where he nearly stumbled onto the coloured carpet as Mischa, Nicole, Daniel and Emma glanced up at his stumbling figure, “Well, well, I hope you learnt a lesson about drinking” Mischa smiled as Ewan moved over to the table, “Shut up, I feel terrible and I don’t remember much” he told them as Nicole sighed, “Well, you missed a beautiful wedding. So magical, well, most of it” she told him as Ewan looked up, “Oh man, the wedding. What happened? Did everyone make it?” he asked, holding his sore head in his hands, “Oh yeah, even more” Nicole brought up as Ewan saw Daniel and Emma sitting at the table, “Who are you?” he asked, as Mischa smiled, “Friends, who saved us from a whole heap of trouble. Ewan, if case you have forgotten, this is Daniel and Emma” she reminded him, “I think I remember. All I remember is that the bride and groom kissed a lot” he smirked, reaching for a large, cup of hot tea, Nicole had prepared for them as Mischa laughed, “Boy, you were drunk then. You missed the little interaction with Jude and Rachel” she reminded him, nearly forcing him to choke on his tea, “What! They were there. What happened?” he asked as Mischa went on, “Well, Jude was literally, and I mean this, literally begging on his knees for Natalie to come back to him but she only got angry with him and rejected him” she told him as he smiled, “And Rachel?” he asked, “She wanted to put up a fight until Daniel and Emma arrived and were fortunate enough to help us escape before it went violent” she replied as he smiled, “Thanks very much. So it this, Nicole’s or Hayden and Natalie’s place?” he asked as Nicole spoke up, “Neither. This is Daniel and Emma’s hotel. They had the idea where we go back with them because Jude and Rachel, hopefully won’t think to come here” she answered, “Smart move. I can’t believe what I did last night. I feel terrible” he confessed as Mischa smirked, “Serves you right” she told him as they heard more giggles, “Hayden, stop it!” they heard Natalie say, then “Come on, I can do it. We’re married” he reminded her, “But everyone else might still be sleeping” she pointed out as Ewan smirked, “No, we’re up!” he yelled back before Mischa slapped him hard, “Ow!” he replied as the door opened and out stepped an refreshed Hayden and Natalie, “Morning” she smiled, she was wearing Hayden’s shirt over her white wedding dress, while he only wore his black pants, “Some night, huh?” he asked, helping Natalie into a chair before sliding into one next to her, “Yeah, it was so beautiful. You were so clueless and surprised” Mischa pointed out, “It was very nice of you to do that for us” as Hayden looked over at Ewan, “You knew didn’t you?” he asked, as Ewan sheeply hid away, “Guilty” he smirked as Hayden only rolled his eyes, turning to Daniel and Emma, “Honestly, we can’t believe what you did for us. Jude and Rachel would have given more trouble” he told them as Emma smiled back, “We know, Nicole and Mischa filled us in on what has happened so far” reaching for the plate of hot, round, delicious looking pancakes as Daniel added, “Well, it was my idea. Emma was a bit hesitant to infere but I persuaded her because from what we heard, it wasn’t going to be friendly” watching Hayden drape an arm around Natalie’s back, “Well, you did the right thing” Natalie replied, with a slight wink to him before giggling as Hayden started to tickle her.

“Rachel, it’s been 10 hours and no sign of them. They’re not coming back” Jude moaned once more as Rachel pushed her long, straight, brown hair back past her ears, “Always impatience you are, they have their belongings here. They have to come back. Did you see what she was wearing? Not very warm” she laughed as Jude pointed out, “They could always buy new clothes” reaching for a photo on the coffee table, it showed Hayden and Natalie, with his arms holding her tightly, a bright smile across her face as his eyes stared lovingly into her’s, he hated that, so he threw the photo across the room, “I HATE him so much. His whole personality and looks make me so angry!” he screamed as Rachel slowly backed away, “I would watch what you are saying because that’s my boyfriend you’re talking and she’s no prize beauty for you, mister” she informed him as he turned his head slowly around, “Will you just WAKE Up and smell the NEWS! They married each other last night. The only way to destroy them emotionally” he told her as she screamed in frustration, “You ALREADY tried that and it didn’t WORK, because in her words, their love is too strong” she reminded him, “They will come back here and we will make them see the truth” she added.

The seven of them, all sat around the luxurious living quarters on the spacious and cushy lounges, “What are we going to do now?” Hayden asked, “Natalie’s Ewan’s and my luggage is all back at the hotel” he informed them as Nicole gasped, “The belongings we brought to the church for the wedding is still at the church” she remembered as Ewan began to remember, “Damn it, I left our bag at the club last night” he brought up as Daniel and Emma looked around, “So I guess we have a bit of a pickle then” he suggested as Natalie spoke up, “Not exactly. We just have to come up with a plan that works out for all of us” she told them as Emma pointed a finger at her, “Amazingly, she’s right. How about this: it would be unwise for Hayden and Natalie to go back to their hotel, so either Daniel and myself go and get your belongings, Nicole or Mischa go back to the church and Ewan goes to the club” she explained as Hayden smiled over at her, “That’s a smart idea. Because if Mischa goes to the hotel and runs into Jude and Rachel, they’ll know she helped us” he added as Nicole replied, “So have we decided?” “I think so. If you see them, just make something up” he suggested to Daniel and Emma as everyone rose to their feet, “We’ll wait here” he smirked as everyone just rolled their eyes and moved out to their locations as Hayden turned to Natalie, “Now, we can have more alone time” he told her as she giggled, “Hayden, no” she told him, starting to run away but he was to fast, grabbing her by her slim waist and pulling her over to the lounges, tickling her before they shared a romantic kiss together.

The streets of Sydney were now bustling with crowds hurrying along, so busy with their own business that no one noticed two teenagers worming their way through the streets towards the huge, decorated, cream coloured building, “Daniel, I can’t believe we are doing this. We need to have a plan, we can’t just walk in and up to their room” Emma pointed out as Daniel secretly smirked, “I know, I thought of that and I have a plan. Just go along with whatever I say and no one will raise suspicion” he assured her as Emma laughed, “I hope so because I would hate for us to get into more trouble like them” she replied as Daniel laughed back, “Don’t worry, we shouldn’t. I have a really genius plan” he told her, as they pushed their way through the crowds towards the hotel, making their way through the double glass doors into the lobby.

“I am starting to like these two kids” Mischa laughed as she followed Nicole into the church towards the preparation room. It looked so different than the night before-the candles had long burned out, the ribbons and roses had all been taken away and the length of shoelace had been de-attached from the church pews, even the preparation room had been tidied up more, except for their travel bag, still placed on the small, white chair, “Yeah, they’re very smart kids and have helped us out a lot, more than any other strangers would have in their position. I mean they could have ignored that conversation but they didn’t” Nicole replied, quickly packing up the bag as Mischa started to help, “Yeah, you’re right. I hope they don’t have any problems at the hotel” she commented as they both hurried around the room.

Daniel and Emma slowly approached the manager behind the hotel desk, a lump was starting to form in Daniel’s throat, he hoped this would work. As the manager looked up, “Can I help you?” he asked them, “Yes, our uncle and our cousins are still staying here and have decided to come stay with us. They sent us to get their belongings and could we get a key to their room?” he asked as the clerk eyed them suspiciously, “Alright, can I have their names or the name they checked in?” he asked, as Emma watched the interaction between Daniel and the manager, “Yes, it was under the name Christensen” he replied as the manager thumbed through his large, open book, “Ah, yes. Here we are, they are in Room 312, level three and apparently we had two visitors for them that also claim they are relatives” he informed them as Daniel and Emma’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets, “Really, relatives? What did they look like?” Emma asked as the manager watched them closely, “One was a young female, dark brown hair, red eyes with tiredness and a older male, half drunk a bit but really keen to meet them” he replied as Daniel moved off, “Thanks” he added, pulling Emma away and over to the lift, “They’re here. Now we have a bigger problem to work out” he told her as she looked over at him, flicking her light, brownish blonde hair off her eyes, “I thought something would happen like this” she replied, as the lift ascended up the hotel.

Jude and Rachel both were startled at the phone call, not knowing if it was who they wanted or the hotel manager, they had asked him to call if they entered the hotel. Rachel moved over to the phone, “Hello” she answered politely, “This is Mark, the manager. I was just letting you know that more of your relatives are on their way up to collect some belongings” he informed her as she made a slight, small gesture with her mouth, “Really? More of our relatives, which ones were they by chance?” she sweetly asked as he went on, “Two teenagers, apparently the clients are their uncle and cousins” he added as Rachel, remembering to stay in character, snapped back, “Oh, of course. Those relatives, I can’t wait for them to come and see us. I miss seeing my relatives” she replied, slamming down the phone, “Ooh, they think they are so slick. I know what they are doing. Those two little teenagers are coming up here now and think they are going to waltz in here, taking their stuff. Not going to happened” she smirked, waving her finger in front of Jude’s face, “Are you sure it’s them. It might someone else” he suggested, “No, I know they worked them into their whole plan” she snapped back, “And I’m going to fight back: fire to fire” she announced.

Daniel and Emma strolled down the long, carpet, well lit hallway, stopping short of Room 312, “This is not good, we are going to be in trouble and found out” Emma kept telling him as Daniel shook his head, “No, we want. We will act casual and calm. I just have to notify one person” he replied, pulling out his phone.

Ewan had just emerged from the club with the black, travel bag he had to search high and low for, staring out across the busy road, he didn’t expect his phone to ring because he knew where everyone was, but he still answered it, “Hello?” he asked, as he tried to remember the voice, “Ewan. It’s Daniel and Emma. We got to the hotel but we have a little problem” he informed him as Ewan became confused, “Problem? What problem?” he asked, “Your “friends” are here” he informed him as Ewan’s eyes went wide as ever, “Damn it. Okay, I’m on my way. Don’t do anything until I get there. Are you right outside the room?” he asked, “Yes, your room 312, level three” he reminded him as Ewan nodded, “I’m on my way” Daniel heard him say, hanging up, he looked at Emma, “We’re just going to wait, until Ewan gets here” he informed her as she just stared him, “You called him!” she exclaimed as he looked at her, “Dial it down, it’s Hayden and Natalie they want and beside Ewan will be here in case things get out of hand” he assured her, leaning against the smooth wall as Emma sighed, “I hope you’re right” she softly replied.

The small village was known for it’s quietness and was very secluded. Royalty was not usually expected in the village, so to have a Princess and a Knight of the Royal army, caused the neighbours to feel very worried that something would happen to them. So they all kept their distance from the hotel, except for two older teenagers who were about to get more than they bargained for.

“Daniel, this is a bad idea. They want their privacy and we are ruining it” Emma kept telling him as they snuck into the kitchen, “No, it’s not. We’re just curious” he replied, going up to his cousin, totally surprised to see him, “Daniel! What brings you in this part? I told you it’s not allowed” he reminded him as Daniel smirked, “I know but I was wondering if you could help me” he replied as he looked on, intrigued, “I’m listening”, “There’s this new group who just arrived and I was wondering if you sneak us up, to check them out” he suggested as Emma saw him step back, “Are you crazy? I have been told no one is to go there because they have asked for privacy. I tried to get up there, I got as far as the door, totally hot girl answered it, then this guy comes up and slams the door in my face” he informed him, “Look, I know I can get in there for real. Trust me” he told him, as his cousin looked around, until the staff had moved out, “Okay, I will, but if you do, get me the name of the girl. She had brown eyes, long, brown hair and a really beautiful fancy dress” as Daniel just rolled his eyes, “Okay, I’ll try. Fingers crossed” he told him as his cousin moved over to the closet, emerging a few minutes later, with uniforms, “Here, put these on. They should help you” he assured them, before leading them out the kitchen and into the main section of the hotel.

Natalie had never spent so much time in one room, the company was nice but she felt so lonely. No close family because they were all far away, thinking she had married a King so they could be left alone from troubles in their kingdom, how were they going to take that she had fallen in love with a young farmer, with no money but just a family and his love for her. She slowly turned around over to where Hayden layed against the soft, cushy pillows, his sot blue eyes were closed and she smiled as she saw his little sister Ashley curl up to her brother, while they both slept, it mad her smile, as a voice filled the area, “He really does care for his family” and Natalie spun around to see Mischa emerging from the bathroom, “When I was younger, I got into some trouble with some friends and their older siblings and Hayden protected me from trouble and one day, shortly after Ashley was born, we were having some problems, so my father arranged for the collector to take Ashley away in exchange for money” she explained, nearly in tears, “Hayden said no, and would not let him have her. He said she was family and family stay together, so we were force to flee so we could start a nice life” she finished, wiping the tears away from her eyes, as Natalie looked down, “I had no idea. I’m sorry. I never knew” she softly replied as Mischa waved a hand, “It’s okay. You had no idea. We’ve only known each other for what, like a day or two?” she asked, as Natalie got up, to comfort her, “I feel so bad. I never knew there were troubles like this” she told her, rubbing her arms together, looking back over at a sleeping Hayden and Ashley and couldn’t help but smile, maybe he was the perfect man after all.

Daniel and Emma slowly ascended the stairs to the bedrooms, the corridor was long and dimly lit, “Okay, we’re here. Let’s hope this works” Daniel told his friend as she eyed him with a look of i-hope-so-because-i-hate-to-say-i-told-you-so as he just smirked at her expression, moving slowly up to the door, knocking loudly at the door, crossing his fingers he would get what he want.

“This is the fourth time that door has being knocked on” Ewan complained as Nicole softly rubbed his arm, “Maybe they want to talk to us” she suggested as Ewan slowly moved over to the door, “We can’t take that chance. We all have our lives on the line” he replied, reaching to open the round, moderate doorknob, to see two young teenagers standing before him, dressed in hotel staff gear, “Can I help you?” he asked, fingers tapping on the wooden door as the young teens in front of him, became nervous, “Uh, we were wandering if you would like something to eat?” the first one asked as Ewan looked them over, “No, are you sure you’re kitchen staff?” he asked, “We’re assistants but we are looking to help you. We’ve helped a lot of strangers here” the first suggested, “How can you help?” he asked as Emma rolled her eyes, “How Daniel can lie?” she thought, “let us in and we’ll talk” Daniel told him, looking down the long hallway, he simply smiled, “Okay, but you couldn’t breathe a word on what you hear in this room” he told him, allowing them to enter, Daniel smirked at his friend, “See, told you” he told her

Natalie and Mischa quickly leapt to their feet, “What’s going on!?!” Natalie demanded, “letting strangers into the apartment like this, we don’t even know who they are” she pointed out as Ewan waved his hands around, “I know it looks bad but they said they’ve helped strangers before and I thought maybe they could help us” he replied as Natalie looked back over at the sleeping forms of Hayden and Ashley, and moved over to sit on the edge of the bed, “Carry on then” she told him as Ewan nodded “Thankyou” he replied, leading them over to the table and chairs, before taking a seat next to Nicole, “Okay, who are you and tell what you have in mind” he stated as Daniel and Emma took their seat, “Well, I’m Daniel and this is my friend Emma, we live around this village and we saw you arrive and think you need some help, based on who two of you are and the distance people have been giving you” Daniel informed them, “So tell us and we can work something out” he added as Ewan took a deep breath, Nicole, Mischa and Natalie’s eyes all on him, “Okay, let’s start” he began, running his strong, firm hands together.

Chapter 33

Twisting and turning his way through the wide, crowded streets of Sydney, he finally was standing outside the hotel, thinking they needed a quick get away instead of running on foot, Ewan decided to call Nicole and Mischa to inform them of delay in the plan and his own suggestion for how they could help. Entering the hotel lobby, brightly lit with huge light fittings, he opened up his phone and dialled Nicole’s number, hoping she would answer and not already back at the hotel.

Driving along through the bustling traffic back to Daniel and Emma’s hotel room, Mischa and Nicole were both startled by the sudden ringing of Nicole’s phone, focusing on the road, Nicole spoke first, “Mischa, could you answer that? I’m not a comfortable driver while on the phone” she informed her as Mischa nodded, “Sure, no problem” she replied, picking up the phone from its charger, “Hello? Who’s there?” she asked as she heard a laugh, “If you don’t know me by now, then you are the one who was drunk” they joked as she rolled her eyes, “Ewan. What’s wrong?” she asked, “A big problem. Daniel and Emma called me, apparently Jude and Rachel are in the hotel room, I’m on my way to help them, however, we need a get away, could you meet us outside with your car?” he asked as she gasped, “Oh that’s not good. We’ll be there in a few minutes. Good luck” she told him, “Thanks” he replied, hanging up as Nicole asked, “What’s wrong?”, “Jude and Rachel are in Hayden and Natalie’s room, Ewan’s going to help Daniel and Emma but a need a quick getaway so he asked if we could meet them outside the hotel” she informed her as Nicole made a quick turn with her car, “Okay, sure thing. Just when we thought this day would turn out to be perfect” she sighed as Mischa asked “Shouldn’t we inform Hayden and Natalie?” as Nicole shook her head, her long, red locks of hair, swaying from side to side, “No, they should have some more time together and not be worried” she replied as she continued to drive onwards to the hotel.

Daniel and Emma both were startled at the sound of the lift, only to relax more when they saw Ewan’s face looking at them, “Okay, so have we got any ideas on what will do once we are in there?” he asked as he neared them, “I was thinking we just get in there and Daniel and I will move around grabbing any luggage we see and you distract them” Emma suggested as Ewan waved his hands around, “Oh great, leave me with them to deal with, although I think I see your point” he replied, moving over to the door, “Okay, here it goes” he told them, taking a deep breath, he raised his right hand and knocked, quite loudly, on the door.

Rachel and Jude sharply turned towards the door, the knocking was getting louder and louder and would not stop, “Persistent, aren’t they?” Jude asked, getting up to answer the door as Rachel moved forward, “What are you doing? We can’t let them leave!” she told them, “They’re only kids, we can handle them” he smiled, reaching for the small, round door knob, he did not expect to see three faces looking at him, “Oh great, they brought you” he groaned as Ewan shoved past him, “Yes, they did and may I say, you have no right to lie your way in here, thinking you would get them this way” he stated before laughing, “You really are that stupid, to think they would come back to their own hotel, knowing you know where it is” he laughed as Jude could feel himself getting redder and redder as Daniel and Emma slipped past and around to the main lounge room of the hotel room as Rachel snapped, “Look, just tell us where they are and we won’t have to hurt you” she threatened, as he laughed harder, “Oh, this is too much fun” he laughed more before straightening himself up, “Like I’m going to tell you where they are, but I am going to say that they had quite the honeymoon last night, if you know what I mean” he winked, knowing it would make them madder, it sure did as Jude grabbed him by his shirt, pinning him to the wall, “Look! All I want is Natalie back, so just tell me where she is and I won’t throw out that window” he indicated, distracted by holding Ewan to the wall, he did not see Rachel slip past him to where the commotion was coming from.

“Looks like they kept their luggage all together, with only a few minimums laying around” Daniel observed as Emma emerged from the bathroom, “Relatively clean in there but I found all their toiletries” she told him, placing them inside the suitcases as a voice broke their conversation, “Oh, what do you think you are doing!?!” they exclaimed as both twisted around, to see Rachel edging towards them, “I think it was about time you two just drop what you are doing and leave or you will end up in more trouble than you expected” she told them as Daniel only stared at her, his blue eyes piercing through her eyes, “No, because we have agreed to help our new friends and are not leaving till we have everything” he shot back as she came more closer, “Oh really?” she asked and before Daniel could snap back, Emma jumped right past her friend and straight for Rachel, holding her down, “Daniel! Quick, get everything together. I’ll handle her!” she yelled to him as Daniel ran past the two fighting girls towards the living room, scraping up the remaining belongings, he stopped when he spied a photo in a beautifully decorated red and white frame, a small crack at the top, he reached for it, smiling, it was a lovely photo of Hayden and Natalie, looking deeply into each other’s eyes, he had his arms tightly around her waist, and she had a bright smile across her face, placing it on his small pile of belongings, he raced back to the suitcases as the struggles between the other four continued.

Jude had Ewan firmly pinned down, “I will break you then I will break your friend Hayden snatching Natalie right from his grip” he snarled into his ear as Ewan tried t break free, he could not listen to his-they were his friends, he wouldn’t let this happen to them, not after the wedding last night, “Oh yeah, well, let’s see about that” he whispered back, lifting his leg, and brought a swift kick to his boys, that loosen his grip on him, now Ewan was the one to hold him, “I warned you I would get you back” he reminded him, delivering a hard, strong blow to his stomach before slamming him down hard right smack bang on the kitchen floor, punching him until he could barely stand then he looked over to where Emma and Rachel were, it seemed Emma had the upper hand, he observed.

“You think you can stop me!” Rachel laughed as Emma held her down, “I am going to stop you from destroying more lives!” she shouted, slapping her hand across the face, as Rachel reached out for her sandy, blonde hair, “Oh, you are so dead” she whispered into her ear but before she could get a chance to strike again, Emma was pulled off by Daniel, still breathing heavily from racing to throw the bags out in the hall as Ewan ran over, “Okay, good work, I’ll just handle this” he told them, pulling a fighting Rachel to where an nearly unconscious Jude layed, then bolted straight for the door, “Now we run!” he shouted, slamming the door shut behind them, they grabbed the luggage and dashed for the lift, their breath came in heavy, rapid gasps as Ewan smiled, “I think that went rather well” he told them as Daniel and Emma just stared blankly at him.

Natalie anxiously paced up and down the lounge room as Hayden layed full body across the cushy, wide length lounge, “Come on, Nat, they’ll be alright. It just takes time. They would have called if something was wrong, now scoot on over here” he smirked as Natalie smiled, “Hayden, I’m really worried. They didn’t have to do much and it’s now well over 2 hours and no sign of them” she informed him as he placed his hands behind his soft, wavy, blond hair, “Relax, honey. It will be alright. I promise. Now come on and let’s have some more loving” he smiled as she giggled, “No, I want to make sure they are alright” she told him as Hayden rose to his feet, “Then you leave me no choice, once again” he told her, edging more closer to her, “Hayden, no, don’t you dare” she told him, with a firm voice, “Oh I do dare” he said, as she started to run, but he was too fast, grabbing her by the waist, lifting her into his arms, he spun her around before sharing a passionate kiss together and all her worries were washed away with that sweet, loving kiss on her angelic lips.

Nicole and Mischa patiently sat outside the hotel in her black, fancy car, when they saw Ewan, Daniel and Emma dash from the glass hotel doors, along with the bags of luggage, Ewan quickly recognised their car and ushered Daniel and Emma in their direction where they shoved the bags into the open boot of the car before rushing into the back seat, gasping for breath, Mischa spun around, “What happen? I thought you said it was going to be an easy task?” she asked, “Yeah, it was, we got what we came for but had an unfortunate run in with Jude and Rachel but we overturn them” Ewan smirked before slumping back against the seat, looking around, “Why are we still here, let’s go before they come after us!” he exclaimed, as Nicole hit the gears hard and the car sped off into the traffic as Daniel, Emma and Ewan flopped back on the back seat, their job was done but it wasn’t as easy as they first thought it would be.

Locked lips once again on the soft, plush lounge, Natalie quickly looked up and towards the door, as Hayden pulled her back to him, “Don’t worry, it’s probably someone returning to their room” he reassured her as Natalie shook her head, kissing him lightly on the lips, “No, it’s not. They’re back” she corrected him, “I know it” she added, jumping off him as he slowly followed her to the front of the room, hearing the sound of muffled conversations out in the hall before the loud, slamming of the door banged against the narrow, cream wall and in strolled Nicole and Mischa followed by a struggling Ewan, Daniel and Emma with the luggage, still gasping from breath as Natalie ran forward to help them, “What’s wrong. Why are you breathing heavily?” she asked, her voice shaky with worry sounding like the overprotective sister as they carefully dropped the luggage into the back living room before straightening up, Daniel turned to her, “We got to the hotel and found out that your “friends” Jude and Rachel were in the hotel room, so we called Ewan to come help us and when we entered the room, we kind of had a little scuffle with them before making a dash out of there” he explained as Natalie gasped, then she did something unusual, moving over to where Hayden stood, she slapped him, “I told you something was wrong and we should check it out” she angrily told him as he smiled cheekily, “But they handle it and they didn’t want us to get too involved with Jude and Rachel” he put in as she glared at him then turned back to Ewan, Emma and Daniel, “So, you took care of it? You didn’t tell them where they are?” she asked as Ewan quickly answered, “No, of course, we fought back. I tell you Jude is so weak and for your information, or what I saw, Emma is tough, she took on Rachel until she couldn’t move off of her” he pointed out as Hayden smiled impressively, “Wow, you are just like Natalie, sweet and loving on the outside but when angered, you fight back hard” he laughed as Emma felt herself blush and Natalie slapped Hayden across the arm, “Hayden, that’s not funny and you know it!” she replied as he laughed, pulling her in close to him, “You know you love it” he whispered, and with that he planted a romantic kiss on her lips as Ewan cut in, “Do you have to do that, ever time I am in the room!” he announced as Mischa just rolled her eyes, teasing him, “They like to keep you feeling uncomfortable” she smirked, heading behind the kitchen for some refreshments.

Rachel looked around from her position to find Jude moaning in agony, as she slowly rose to her feet, rolling her eyes in disinterest, she kicked his leg sharply, “Get up! You fool, you’re not that hurt” she told him as Jude turned over to look her squarely in the eyes, “Excuse me, I was kicked in the balls, punched continually in the stomach, then thrown into the kitchen” he reminded her as Rachel slowly moved away, observing the sudden mess and disappearance of the luggage, Rachel dropped her thin arms to her side, “Well, this is just great. We have let them escape, and now we have no reason to be here because they have their luggage!” she shouted as Jude groaned, getting to his feet, “But we can’t let them get away like that. We’ve never given up in the past” Jude reminded her as she sighed, “I know but what can we do, they keep beating us every time” she pointed out as Jude held up a finger, “Unless, we go for perhaps one more strike-this time-all or nothing” he told her, her dark brown eyes gleaming, she spoke, “I’m listening” as Jude slowly nodded his head, holding onto the bench for support.

Daniel and Emma were busily chattering away on the soft, plush lounges in their room, Ewan and Nicole for a drink in the hotel bar, Mischa was having a light rest and Hayden and Natalie were , once again, spending some time together, “I guess that everyone will be once again leaving” Emma sighed as Daniel slowly turned his head, he didn’t quite understand what she meant, “What do you meant?” he asked as she looked over at the bedrooms, “I mean, I’m sure everyone had business to carry on with and Hayden and Natalie will want some private time because they are now married” she explained as he began to understand, “Maybe, it won’t be a for a while, maybe we can still hang out together before we all leave” he tried to tell her but she flicked her soft hair behind her ears, “I know I wish it was true but sometimes things don’t always turn out the way we want them” she reminded him as he laughed, “You’re right but most of the time, you always get the unexpected happen, when you least expect it” he reassured her as she let out a small chuckle before one of the cream, narrow doors opened, and out stepped, a clean and fresh Hayden and Natalie, dressed in light, spring casual clothes, moving over to the lounges, “Didn’t expect anyone to be here, still” Natalie told them, giggling as Hayden move his arms down her slim waist, twirling the strap of her top with his finger as Emma spoke, “We didn’t feel like doing much today, especially after such an eventful morning” making Hayden look over at her, “We’re sorry, we didn’t know. We didn’t mean to get you involved. We didn’t know that they would do that” he told them as Daniel waved a hand, “Don’t worry about it, it was……fun” he smiled as Hayden laughed, “Well, that must make it more interesting” Hayden smirked as Natalie laughed, running her hands through his soft, blond hair, “Oh, you are just so cheeky” she told him, noticing how cute they looked together, Emma had to ask, “Uh, I was wondering, since you guys look so sweet together if you wouldn’t mind telling us how you two first met?” she blinked innocently at them as Daniel rolled his eyes, “Emma! We can’t ask that, it’s none of our business” he told her as Natalie looked over at him, “That’s not true, you guys have helped us out a lot and I would love to tell you how we first met” she smiled, as Hayden looked at Daniel, “It might be long, because she’ll give you the long version” he smirked as Natalie slapped him playfully, “Hayden! That’s not nice. I’ll tell it exactly how I want to” she replied, looking over at Emma and Daniel, she began the story:

The roaming grassy green hills just outside of California were beautiful to look at while the white, light of the sun shining brightly above them as the stylish, fancy cars drove through the quiet roads to Skywalker Ranch. Three young men were beginning to feel the nerves, wondering if they would win the role of a lifetime. The cars all pulled up outside the beautiful, huge ranch sized house and the men were escorted into the back living room, introduced to the producer, director and other crew members then the actor they would be testing with. One young man, no less than 19, couldn’t believe his eyes, she was beautiful. He could see her talking with the director before she moved over to him, “Hello. I’m Natalie, I’ll be testing with you” she informed him as he just stared, before quickly saying something, “Hello, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Hayden. I can’t believe I’m here” he replied as she laughed softly, “You’re so sweet. If you would like we could move over to the lounges and talk before we start” she suggested as he gulped, “Alright, we could do that” he stuttered before following her, over to the lounge room, “It must have been exciting working on Star Wars?” he asked her as she smiled, “It was amazing, everyone was so nice and friendly especially since my age, but I formed great friendships, especially with Jake and Keira, who played little Anakin and Sabe, one of my handmaidens” she told him as he stared, “I just can’t believe I got this far” he kept telling her as she placed a hand on his upper part of his leg, “I have a good feeling about you and I think I’ll be seeing more you” she assured him, making him smile but the nerves were still with him, a lot! Especially when it was time to start the testing, told what to do and what the scene is about. Natalie sat down over next to him, she suddenly became very professional, clearing her throat, “Ani?” she asked in her sweet voice as he suddenly became aware of his lines, looking up, he looked straight at her, “Anakin. Ani, makes me sounds like a little boy” he told her as she sighed, “I’m sorry, it’s just hard to deny that you’ve grown up” she went on as he continued to look at her, “It’s frustrating because no one else notices it and I am ready to face the trials” he told her as she shook her head, “Don’t try to grow up too fast” she told him as he smiled and moved closer to her, “I am grown up” he smiled as they heard a cut, “That was great, very well performed. Well connected together” he told them as Natalie smiled, “I felt he was great too” she added, giving him a quick hug before they moved on to the next candidate.

Emma sighed in awe as Natalie finished the story of how they first met, “So you first met for an audition?” she asked, “That is so interesting and different” she added as Natalie looked over at Hayden, “Yes, it was, there were three gorgeous guys that day and I felt an immediate close bond with Hayden” she smiled as Hayden leaned over to Daniel, “Told you she would go into every detail” he whispered as Daniel laughed before both boys felt the glares of Natalie and Emma staring at them, “Why is it that boys don’t like these kinds of stories?’ Emma asked as Natalie laughed, “Because they’re boys” she smirked, leaning over to share a passionate kiss with Hayden.

“Money! There is no way any of this will work” she told him as he smiled, “Trust me, if they want to be left alone, they will listen” he concluded

Natalie, Mischa and Nicole just stared over at Ewan, Daniel and Emma, Natalie felt very uncomfortable about this two new strangers knowing their story and their troubles they are in. How did they not know that they were sent into the village by the Queen to spy on them and turn them in? she wondered as Ewan listened to Daniel and Emma’s idea for how they could solve their problems, “So you’re saying if we stage an elaborate scene, inviting the King and Queen into the village, then we get a few worthless prisoners/dying people to act as us, they think we’ve died and then we escape into the distance, they’ll leave us alone?” he asked as Daniel nodded, “Of course, worked last time” he answered him as Emma reminded him, “Only because we had the best hunters to finished the plan off” as Daniel looked away, “Well, we can still handle that, then they are shot down in defeat and flee, you escape, and they think you’re dead” he finished as Natalie shook her head, “No way, it won’t work because my parents will believe it and be heartbroken and Mischa’s parents will probably think it’s true” she informed them as Mischa shifted uncomfortably on the bed, “Uh, Natalie, that’s not entire true” she muttered as everyone twisted in her direction, “What are you talking about?” she asked, “Well, only Nicole knows this and you have to not let Hayden or Ashley know until I tell them, but…” she cold feel the tears swell up, “That day my village was attacked and Nicole and I were captured, well, our parents were murdered along with most of the neighbours, only a few survived” she cried as Natalie’s hands flew to her mouth as Nicole added, “It was horrible. Her father was killed by knights, her mother was burned in one of the fires-she was elsewhere with her sister and Mischa hid Ashley outside in the stables, she must have ran back in after everyone left” she informed them, feeling the tears swell in her eyes as Ewan moved over to console her as Daniel and Emma looked at the shocked group, Emma nudge Daniel, “Well done, Daniel, look what you’ve opened up” she told him as he looked away, “I know, I feel terrible. The more we need to help them escape their troubles” he announced as Natalie slowly moved away from the grieving group to the two teenagers, “Okay, I’ll let you help us but if you double cross us, I will have locked up for a long time” she warned as they nodded in agreement.

Rachel angrily stormed into her chambers, no sign of their prisoners who had escaped yet and she was getting very angry by the day because her plans could not work: he did not help her he escaped instead and she could not kill the Princess until Jude had seen her and they were together. None of her own troops had found them, which added more frustration, until she came up with her own idea, Ewan and Hayden were like all men and had one weakness, for beautiful women, judging the girls they were with, so she had called her beautiful, gorgeous, sexy maidens to disguise themselves as bar maidens and sent to every village and when they found them, they would seduce them and alert them so the Queen and King could meet up and deal with them. No notice yet but it would only be a matter of time before they would find them.

The small backyard outside the motel was a beautiful site at night as Mischa strolled the lush stoned pathways with Hayden and Ashley, who had run ahead to pick the beautiful, white and yellow flowers for their room, before Mischa called her over once they reached the stoned bench and sat down, “What’s wrong, Mischa?” Hayden asked as she looked away, avoiding their eyes, “I haven’t been entire honest with the you” she muttered as she slowly raised her head, “When I said that mum and dad were looking for us, I was lying” she told them as Hayden’s eyes went wide, “What!” he exclaimed, “What happened?” he asked, “That day our village was attacked, well almost everyone was killed” she started, “And?” he asked, “Dad was killed for trying to stop the attackers from entering and mum was killed in one of the burning buildings with her sister” she went on as Ashley began to whimper while Hayden slowly rose to his feet, moving slightly away, “And you knew this and you kept it from us?” he asked, “I didn’t know how to explain it. I was captured, I had to protect Ashley, you were not there and fires were erupting everywhere” she told him before she fell to her knees, in tears as Ashley looked up, “So mummy and daddy are gone?” she asked, tears in her eyes as Hayden turned away, as Ashley looked down at Mischa, “Are they?” she asked, as she could only nod before she clung to her gently, moving over to Hayden, “I wanted to tell you but couldn’t find the right time, please, don’t hate me” she cried as he turned around, once again, “I don’t hate you. I just wanted to know sooner” he replied, as he comforted her greatly.

Natalie was observing the scene from the window when she was disturbed, “I take it she told them?” Emma asked, “Yes, it’s awful. They’re his only family he’s got and he might be killed because of me” she cried as Emma smiled, “Not if Daniel’s plan works. He’s with your other friends right now” she added as Natalie stared out the dark, glassed windows, “I hope so, I have heard of his terrible past and I don’t want his family to suffer any more” she told her, watching the figures of Hayden, Mischa and Ashley console each other out in the dark, dimly lit gardens as Emma remained with her, trying to reassure her that everything will work out in the end.

[Or will it? What will happen now? Will they agreed to Jude’s money plan before he strikes again or do they have another trick up their sleeves to trick him? And will Daniel and Emma’s plan save them from the King and Queen before Rachel’s maids find them. Stay tuned!]

Chapter 34

The crisp fresh smell of sea water filled the air as Rachel strolled the pathway of Sydney harbour a few steps behind Jude, who had taken a rather twisted turn since their encounter with Ewan, Daniel and Emma, for a guy who was nearly beaten unconscious he seemed to be doing fine, scrapping Rachel’s plan of going to the police to “file” a report against their friends, hoping it would lead them to Hayden and Natalie and something else that annoyed her was the latest absence of Mischa, she had not seen her in a couple of days now, hoping that she had business to take care of, but she should have called her to notify her, shaken from her thoughts by Jude’s cheerful voice, “Come on, Rachel, get a move on, or I won’t include you in the plan” he called back to her as she smirked, “Like you would do that. This plan includes me just as much as it includes you” she called back, seeing him spin around, “Don’t think I won’t do it because I came up with the whole plan and I can carry it out without your help, now move it” he snapped as she laughed, thinking to herself, “Why they would come out to meet them to hear this plan, would be a complete surprise, because of their “new” entourage” she thought to herself, remembering the sharp encounter she had with Emma, back in the hotel room, for all she knew, they could planning on leaving Sydney and she would never see them again.

Natalie stared out across the beautiful, sparkling city, twinkling with lights like small, white stars, softly thinking about how her life had turned out to be, and it was complete different then she had pictured it, she was now married to the man she had first fallen in love with, yet there was so much trouble around and fear, that shouldn’t be there, so she couldn’t relax, as a light gust of cool, night air blew through her hair, she was startled by a softer voice, “Life is funny how it can change everything” they spoke and Natalie slowly moved her to her right side, to see Emma standing next to her, smiling as she, too, looked over the city, “Yes, it is. Where’s Daniel and Hayden?” she asked, hearing Emma’s sweet laugh, “Ewan decided to take them out for some “guy” fun, calling it ‘guys night out’” she informed her as Natalie smiled, “Typical, Ewan, wanting to have fun. What about Nicole and Mischa?” she went on as Emma smiled, “Nicole’s on the phone, first with her husband and now her children while Mischa decided to call an old friend she knew about some matter” she replied, seeing Natalie turn her head back around, “What!?! What friend, did she say who?” she asked, her voice in a state of panic, as Emma laughed once again, “It’s not Rachel, but some guy called Adam, something about Rachel and him use to date, she had an idea” she shrugged as Natalie calmed once again as Emma spoke once again, “That recount you told Daniel and me about how Hayden and you first met, was so amazing and interesting” she gushed as Natalie smirked, “Yes, it was: he was like this tall, handsome……” her voice drifted off as Emma listened more, “Beautiful Stranger” she finished as Emma sighed, “Wow, that’s a interesting description” she laughed as Natalie gave a small, smile back, as her thoughts drifted back to Hayden.

Bursting with colourful, party people, Ewan, Hayden and Daniel found themselves right in the heart of Sydney’s clubbing district, nothing like they had seen before, “This is something different I’ve never seen before” Daniel yelled over all the noise as Ewan laughed, “Well, then we’ll have to get you right into the atmosphere” he assured him as Hayden was quick to point out, “None of your special ‘lady’ clubs like on the night of my surprise wedding” he told him as Ewan groaned, “Oh man, that’s no fun, the kid need to be introduced to the high life” he laughed as Hayden shot him a cold, hard look as Daniel let out a laugh, “You took him to a strip club on the night of his wedding?” he laughed as Ewan shrugged innocently, “Hey, it was his last night as a single guy, it’s tradition” he answered back as Daniel laughed hardly while Hayden rolled his eyes, “Never mind, just where are we going now?” he asked, as Ewan slightly moved to the left, “Right here, a nightclub, where everything goes and anything that happens, stays inside the club” he smirked as Hayden exchanged a glance with Daniel, “Just when I thought he couldn’t get any worse then last time” he muttered before following Ewan inside the club, where they were flustered with bright, colourful lights and loud, booming dance music and crowds of interesting, colourful people, as they manoeuvred their way through to the bar across the dance floor, feeling the eyes of all the girls in the nightclub, staring and smiling at them as they smiled back, Hayden smirked, “I have to admit, this time you really have made it feel like a true, fun guy’s night out” he yelled over at the music, “I wouldn’t let Natalie hear you say that” Daniel informed him as Hayden smirked, “Like Ewan said, what happens in this club, stays in this club, so I can have my fun but not in any way that hurts Natalie” he assured him, sipping his drink, watching as three, young, sexy brunettes, dressed in sparkling halter neck tops and hipster, denim jeans, made their way over to the trio, “Haven’t seen you around her before? You up for some fun?” the first asked as Ewan smirked, “Well, that is why we are here for” as the girls giggled “Well, do you mind if we join you?” the first asked as he laughed, “For sure, like to introduce yourselves, ladies” he smirked as they blushed once again, “I’m Kimberly, my friend to the left is Stephanie and to my right, is my friend Michelle and you might be?” she asked, “Well, I’m Ewan and these are my friends Hayden and Daniel” he smiled as Kimberly returned the laugh, “Well, boys, do you dance?” she asked watching them shrug and look away as Stephanie spoke up, “I think they’re shy, Kim” she told her as Michelle added, “We’ll show them how then” as Kimberly pulled Ewan, Stephanie grabbed Hayden and Michelle grabbed Daniel right onto the dance floor onto several of the large dance stages the club had to offer, seductively dancing real close to the boys, who started to loosen up, although Hayden was wondering if he should really be doing this, but he let his worries wash away as he saw Ewan and Daniel enjoying Kimberly and Michelle’s company so he decided to show Stephanie how much fun he could be.

Emerging towards the laughter of Natalie and Emma, Mischa breathed a sigh of relief as a bubbly Natalie and Emma turned to regard her, “What’s wrong?” Emma asked as Mischa helped herself to some, chilled, white wine and joining her friends, “Nothing to be concerned about, just Adam telling me that he surprised that Hayden is not with Rachel because she is a hard girl to not fall out of love with and she’ll pursue till she has what she wants” she informed them, seeing Natalie go quiet as Emma laughed, “Don’t worry, you have us and Hayden will never cheat on you after what you guys went through to get where you re at now” she reminded her as Natalie sipped another sip of her drink, “You’re right, I know him, he wouldn’t go back to her” she told them as Mischa looked around, “Where is he, by the way, I thought you guys would be inseparable from each other” she asked as Emma informed her, “Ewan, literally pulled Hayden and Daniel from the hotel room, saying they needed a guy’s night out and so far, they are still out, having a guy’s night out” seeing Mischa laugh, “I hope he learnt his lesson and doesn’t get too drunk” she explained as Natalie gave a small laugh, causing them to look at her, “I wouldn’t count on it, they’ll rock up through that door, drunk as and I know this is a shock but Hayden will be too. I’ve seen them drunk, it’s not a pretty sight” she replied as Emma shook her head, “That’s not good examples for Daniel” she smirked as Mischa rolled her eyes, “That’s what concerns me more” she muttered, before enjoying another sip of her drink, sharing a laugh with Natalie and Emma as well as stories of Hayden, Daniel and Ewan.

Growing impatient every minute, Rachel tapped the sharp, pointed heel of her shoe on the pavement, waiting for Jude to finish up with his business before they could move on, he had told her he had to make a quick call to an ‘old’ friend, but that quick call turned out to be over 2 hours long! Which frustrated her to the point of walking off, leaving him alone to figure out his own plan but she knew that she wanted to find out how Jude would achieve this new plan, involving “money”, breathing heavily as Jude re-emerged from the phone booth, “Well, you took your time, what’s going on!?!” she demanded as Jude smiled, “All in good time, I had to organise a few things, make sure everything is in action so there is no more delays” he simply informed her as she looked blankly at him, “What!?! This will never work” she declared as Jude strolled simply down the street, “You’ll see” he simply replied.

As the night moved into the early hours of the morning, Hayden, Ewan and Daniel stumbled from the popular dance nightclub, almost completely wasted with Kimberly, Stephanie and Michelle, laughing and drunk with them, “This has been so much fun, we can’t believe we could have this much fun!” Kimberly exclaimed as the guys smirked, “Oh yeah, you guys can dance” Stephanie commented as they laughed, “We didn’t know we had it in us” Ewan laughed, moving into a waiting, parked taxi, they first took the girls back to their hotel for the night, with Daniel and Michelle sharing a sweet, romantic kiss together before they bid goodbye and made their way, drunkly back to their hotel, laughing and almost tripping over their own feet, ignoring the stares of the hotel manager, continuing up the stairs, trying not to cause too much noise, but they were drunk and couldn’t help it, reaching the door to their room, they burst out laughing, “I can’t work the key in the lock” Daniel whispered as Ewan and Hayden let out a laugh before trying to assist him, “I don’t want to be locked out” Hayden told them, banging loudly on the hotel door.

Natalie, Mischa, Emma and now Nicole, who was still on the phone to her family, turned their heads in the direction of the banging, Natalie and Mischa were slightly a little tipsy but still strong enough to hear the banging, “Who could that be?” Emma asked, moving towards the door before Natalie pulled her back, “It could be Jude or Rachel” she informed her as she laughed, “They don’t know where we are and if it is, I’ll finish her off like I almost did at the hotel earlier” she smirked, shrugging off Natalie’s grip and slowly creeping over to the door, and turning the small, round door knob as Hayden,. Daniel and Ewan stumbled forward, “Finally, you answer” Hayden told them, laughing, towards Natalie, “My beautiful, perfect wife” he laughed, as she caught him before he could fall to the ground, as Mischa shook her head, “I knew it! I knew it! I knew Ewan would get drunk but he also got Daniel and Hayden drunk as well, what else hook up with anyone we should know of?” she questioned them as Ewan laughed, “We met three nice girls and Daniel got very close to one” he smirked, falling onto one of the lounges while Emma moved into one of the bedrooms with Daniel while Natalie took Hayden into their bedroom as Mischa slowly moved over to Ewan, looking down at him, “Well, well, you clearly have outdone yourself this time” she sighed as he just laughed, “I said guys night out and I delivered” he told her as she yelled in frustration, “A guy’s night, leading to you three getting drunk and rolling back to the hotel at 3am the following morning!” before throwing her arms up in the air and moving over to the door, turning to Nicole, “Watch him, Nicole and make sure he doesn’t choke on his own vomit” she reminded her, before huffing angrily from the room.

Natalie watched a peaceful, now passed out Hayden lying on their bed, rarely had seen him drunk and he acted very differently, like it was one big joke and what Ewan had blurted out, and worried her, who were these three girls? That hopefully it was just innocent flirting and Hayden didn’t cheat on her with some girl. Slowly stroking the right side of his soft, face, she smiled, she wasn’t a jealous type of girl, she occasionally flirted with a few guys when she was out, but when you were drunk, different things happen, did he accidentally, drunkly kiss this girl? She moved herself closer to his sleeping form, lifting up one of his strong arms and placing it around her, allowing herself to fall asleep on his strong chest, happy to be in his warm comfort, she couldn’t shake this feeling that something could have happened while he was out.

Finding herself in a largely, decorated house, with white carpeted stairs not too far from where she stood, she could hear the laughs of two people slowly heading her way, ducking into the living room diagonally from the stairs, she peered through the stained glass coloured panels to see Hayden emerge round the corner, with his arms wrapped around a skinny, mysterious, brunette dressed in a shirt skirt, high heels and a sparkling blue bikini top, she giggled as he kissed her neck, “Oh Hayden, I think it was fate to meet you that night at the club” she told him as he smiled, “Stephanie, I feel the same way. I thought it would be strange but it’s not” he replied as she pointed out, “But Kimberly told me that Ewan told her you were married? What about her?” she asked, sounding serious but Natalie only heard him laugh, “Don’t worry, she won’t find out, she’s probably done the same to me” he told her, touching her small face, pulling her in for a kiss, “Shall we move on upstairs?” he asked as she giggled, “You’re on” she replied, Natalie couldn’t stand it anymore and wanted to run but another voice entered the large, foyer, “I knew you didn’t deserve her and I was right! You traitorous dog!” the voice yelled as Hayden and Stephanie spun around and the strong willed figure of Jude moved closer, “You are a traitor to Natalie and she didn’t deserve you and now I will end her suffering but destroying you” he informed him, reaching for his concealed weapon, he fired point blank range straight at him as Natalie ran towards Hayden, too late, it hit him as Stephanie stared in horror at Natalie, who was crying over his silent, cold body, she knew he wouldn’t cheat, he would never and now he was gone as her small, clear, little tears fell onto his strong, hard, chest as she felt a hand touch her face, he whispered, “Natalie, I’m so sorry” before his eyes closed and he was gone.

Her round, brown eyes snapped open as she felt the sweat drip down from her small forehead, it was just a dream but it felt horrible, she looked over at Hayden, who was still asleep as she slowly rose to her feet and tiptoed into the bathroom, still shaken from the dream, his arms around Stephanie’s skinny figure and his soft lips against her’s then his hand against her own cheek and his final words before he died. She couldn’t bear to live without him, and he would never cheat on her, she knew it, startled when she felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her waist, she spun around and saw Hayden’s charming smile smiling down at her, “What’s wrong?” he asked, sounding groggily, as she shook her head, “Nothing, just a bad dream” she whispered, feeling the tears swell up in her eyes as he lifted a finger to wipe her eyes, “Oh sweetie, you shouldn’t be having bad dreams” he smiled as she nodded, “I know but I also need to know, would you ever cheat on me?” she asked as he stared in disbelief before pulling her in closer, “Natalie, I would never cheat on you. I have loved you since I met you. I don’t want to hurt you ever” he assured her, “If you’re worried about the club, nothing happened, we met three girls yes, but I only danced, because I love you” he assured her once again, pulling her in for a romantic tender kiss.

Emma sat on the edge of the large, double, satin silked bed, as Daniel slowly opened his eyes, holding his head and groaning quietly, “Looks like you had an interesting night?” Emma asked, before laughing, “Went out with Ewan and Hayden, got drunk and met some girls” she informed him as he slowly propped himself up, “I can’t believe I let it happened. It was just so wild” he told her, “From what I remember” he added as she rolled her eyes, “Do you remember a kiss?” she asked as he paused then spoke, “Yes, right before the girls headed into their room, I shared a kiss with Michelle, rather enjoyable” he smiled as she giggled, “Daniel, I can’t believe you. You are so cute when you do stuff like this” she informed him as he laughed, “Yeah I am” he replied, holding his head as he felt one massive headache coming on as Emma slowly moved to the bed side table to lower the lights off his eyes before she sat back down, next to him, stroking his face, lifting his thick, brown hair from his eyes, which were starting to close again, she smiled at his silent figure, “You sleep well, buddy” she smiled and without realising what she was doing, she slowly bent down, and shared an innocent, sweet kiss on her friend’s soft, lips, surprised to find him returning her kiss!

Slowly and silently, Hayden, emerged into the room, with his arms firmly around Mischa while he held Ashley tightly to his chest, Ashley’s head was buried into Hayden’s freshly cleaned shirt now damped with small, wet tears, Natalie and Emma watched the group moved towards the bed, so upset and sad, it was horrible, to see a family like this, to know they were the only ones left, then a realisation hit Natalie, if Hayden continues to be seen with her and they continue to be together, Jude would almost certainly kill him and Mischa and Ashley will be left unprotected, all alone, she could feel her once bright brown eyes now start to swell up with tears as Emma’s voice cut through her thoughts, “This is so sad, I mean, look at them, they can’t go through anymore pain. I’m going to inform Daniel we need to up the time of the plan before it will be too late” she told her, darting off to where Daniel sat with Ewan and Nicole.

Slowly and careful, she approached the quiet, sadden group, sitting on the other side of Hayden, taking his soft, gentle, strong hand in her’s, she rosed her head so she was gazing into his’s beautiful, gorgeous baby blue eyes, seeing him give a small, loving smile she remembered from when they first met, “I’m sorry about your parents, if you want to just take Mischa and Ashley and leave, I understand” she told him as he smiled, “No, I am sad about my parents but I love you and I want you to be with me, so I am staying until we can be together, even if we have to face Jude’s army with just Daniel and Emma’s plan” he told her, raising her chin up and wiping the tears away from her eyes, “Ashley was already telling me how she can’t wait to have another sister” he smirked as Natalie let out a little laugh before she flung her arms around his neck, “Oh, Hayden, you have no idea how happy I feel right now, to know that I can truly feel cheerful here” she happily cried before they shared a passionate kiss together as Mischa and Ashley watched in awe, although Ashley just crinkled her nose at the sight because she was too young to understand.

The plan was almost in motion, they had the “decoys”, they had the hunters, Daniel had assured them his cousin’s “friends” to finish them off and the escape plan so they could slip out of the village unnoticed, there was just one matter left, then Daniel reminded them, “You do realise, that once we are all ready to begin the plan, Jude and Rachel will alerted and we be in the village, so you need to remain out of sight until Emma gives you the all clear” as Ewan understood, “I understand, but are you sure that these “decoys” will want to die like this?” he asked as Daniel laughed, “These people were going to die for their crimes or their sickness, so they want to end their suffering” he replied, “The guards will probably you out then they will emerge and the hunters will appear from nowhere, shooting you in a fire of bullets” he told them as Nicole gasped, “That sounds horrible” she pointed out as Ewan softly kissed her sweet lips, “Don’t worry, honey, I won’t let them harm you, just your decoy” he smirked as Emma broke the conversation, “I hate to spoil this conversation but I would like to point out that this better work because Hayden, Mischa and Ashley have already loss their parents, I don’t think they can lose anyone else” she informed them as Daniel laughed, “Emma, Emma, this has worked in the past and it will worked this time, we have the decoys, which surprisingly looked exactly like them and the hunters to finish them off, it will work. You worry too much, every time” he reminded her, rolling his eyes before turning back to Ewan and Nicole, “My cousin will notify me shortly when his friends are here and positioned, then we send a messenger to the King and Queen, informing them we have you and then they come, you hide in the stables, we greet them, and then watch what happens before Emma informs you and you’re home free” Daniel once again explained as Mischa spoke, her voice barely a whisper and her eyes red from crying, “I hope it works because we would really appreciate this” she told him, “Trust me, It will” he laughed

Angrily, Jude stormed the giant, hallways of his luxurious castle, he would furious, no sign of Natalie or her friends and Rachel’s secretive hiding angered more, he knew she wanted to be Queen and was plotting to destroy him, some of his most trustworthy guards had let it slipped, she had a secret agreement with the young farmer before he escaped and now had her young, beautiful maidens posing as bar matrons and seduce the boys and hopefully all without consulting him. Pushing back the huge, cream and gold doors to her chambers, he found her sitting at her vanity with two other maidens styling her hair and makeup while she sat in an elaborate, simply night dress, eying him in the mirror, she coldly stared at him, “Jude, what brings you here to barge into my private quarters?” she asked, as he snapped, “It is my castle and I can do what I want, and also since when do you have the right to order the guards to do what you ask without my knowledge!” he yelled as she sharply rose to her feet, “Since you decided to let them go in the front place without pursuing!” she snapped back, “That was part of the plan, I had his village burned down and his sister captured so he would return then I would kill him” he informed her as she laughed, “Well, I got to him first and if you weren’t so hooked up on this Princess, you wouldn’t be so crazy” she added as he felt his blood boil more, “I was promise her by her father, she was on her way here before her carriage was attacked and she never made it here but into the hands of a young farmer!” he angrily replied as she laughed, “Well, that’s what you get when you send rookie guards to escort royalty” she smirked as she saw him begin to fume, “They were royalty, it’s just someone was alerted to the transport and attacked” he glared at her, she waved a strong, finger in front of him, “If you think I had something to do with that, you are wrong. I wanted to marry her, I was the one who spoke to her father in the first” she corrected him, slightly give a small smile, it was all part of her plan in the first place, except for the attack on the carriage, “So you think twice before you start accusing me of anything” she added as he calmed down, “You’re alright, but I will be watching you and if you slip up, I’ll know” he informed her, storming from the quarters, Rachel breathed a sigh of relief, he couldn’t pick up anything unusual from her and that was good, as she laughed, soon they would have their prisoners and then shortly after that, the King and his new bride would be dead and she will be Queen just as it should have been.

Amidst all the excitement and the sadness, Hayden and Natalie still managed to steal some time away together, out to the beautiful, quiet and secluded gardens where he spent the previous night with Mischa and Ashley, now he could have some beautiful perfect moment with the girl he loved, taking her hand and leading her over to the stone, grey bench surrounded by gorgeous red, pink and yellow flowers, she softly gave him a small smile, before he raised a hand to her soft, pale face and brought his lips in for a romantic kiss before she whispered, “Oh Hayden, I’ve being waiting for a while to receive another kiss like that” as he smiled, “Like the first moment we met?” he asked as she nodded, “Yes, you saved me, risking your life for a Princess” she replied, “I couldn’t let them take you like that” he smirked as she had to know, “Do you still remember that fateful day?” as he smiled more, “Every little detail” he smirked, sharing another sweet kiss as Natalie suddenly was filled with the memories of that life changing day.

The sound of the horses throttling through the dust light brown paths through the small forest, filled the ears of those who were near as a golden, silvery carriage was being driven to the King, a young Princess sat, sternly and innocently in the carriage, she did not want to this, her father had pressured her into this life not allowing her to be free like her other sisters, wishing she was back with her friends and her sisters as she stared out into the trees beyond, her carriage was filled with screams and the metal cracks of swords hitting the swords of the guards as the carriage came to a sudden halt and Natalie looked around, full of worry, emerging from the carriage, she found the guards locked in battle with unknown enemies, who seem to be winning, turning on her heels, she darted the other way, desperately trying to get away before two unknown fighters caught her, she screamed, kicking and fighting her away free but they were too strong, as they only laughed, before a sharp spear flew past their head, and all eyes turned to see a young, blond hair boy jumping down from his spot towards them, “Let her go” he simply told them as they laughed, “No way, she’s what we wanted and we got her so you leave” they ordered as the young male pulled out his long sword, “Then prepare to fight” he told them as they pulled out their swords, finding that this boy was a skilled opponent and soon had them defenceless, “Now will you leave?” he asked as they scrambled to their feet and took off, as the young boy looked around, trying to find the distress girl, smiling to himself when he saw a piece of her dress from behind a tree, he crept over to her and pulled her into his grip, she screamed but he raised a finger to her lips, “It’s okay, they’re gone. You’re safe, Princess” he smirked as Natalie gasped, “How did you know?” she asked, “I recognised you and I saw your carriage moving through the forest” he informed her as she smiled, “Well, I am very grateful for rescuing me” she smiled, “It’s Princess Natalie and your name is?” she asked seriously, “It’s Hayden” he laughed as she stared longingly into his bright blue eyes as he took her soft hand, “We should go, these forests aren’t safe” as she smiled, “I’ll be with you” she smirked as she softly reached up to plant him a sweet kiss on his soft lips.

Smiling as she once again stared into his bright blue eyes once again, she never wanted to let go of his grip, “We will be together, I promise” she assured him as he smiled, “I hope so because I never thought that I would be with a Princess” he smirked, reaching down for a flower, he smiled, “You’re missing something” he told her, “What?” she asked, as he raised his hands and slipped the flower into her hair, “Just like one I saw you the first time” he smiled as she felt like she could cry, “Oh that is so sweet” she cried, pulling him into her arms, they shared another passionate kiss under the starry night sky.

Chapter 34

Her worries watched away, as his soft, tender lips pressed against hers, Natalie moved her long, skinny arms around his neck, as he held his hands firmly on her hips, before he gently broke away, lifting a hand to the side of his head, “Oh, my head is really killing me” he laughed as Natalie giggled, “I would be surprised if you didn’t have one” she replied, “Come on, I’ll lead you out to the kitchen and we’ll settle your headache” she assured him, pulling him out of the bathroom and back into the living room, where Nicole was juggling two things-looking after Ewan, who was also suffering a major headache while finishing up her conversations with her family, Mischa was no where in sight and Emma and Daniel still appeared to be in their room as Natalie and Hayden entered the kitchen, Hayden spoke, “I’ll be sad to leave everyone shortly” as Natalie smiled, “They really have been the greatest of friends haven’t they?” she asked, simply making some warm, cosy, drinks and some painkillers to ease the pain, as Hayden slipped his arms around her waist, “They will always be our friends but we will always be able to stay together for the rest of our lives” he replied, leaning in to kiss her neck, making her giggle, “Oh Hayden, why did I ever leave you in the first place?” she asked, “I was so stupid” she added as he let out a small laugh, “And I was a stupid man for letting you go” he informed her, as she handed him the drink, smirking, “Well, it’s not going to happen again” she assured him.

Unaware of what she was doing, Emma continued to kiss Daniel, who was returning her kiss, greatly until there came a sharp knock at the door, making Emma spring right off the bed and dashing over to the door, “Yes?” she asked, opening the door slightly to see Nicole staring at her, “Uh, I was just wondering if Daniel was awake, because there’s someone on the phone for him?” she replied, “I’ll just check” Emma replied, moving back over to her friend, “Daniel? Daniel, you awake?” she asked, giving him a gentle shake, before seeing his eyes snap open, “Emma? What’s wrong?” he asked, “You have a phone call” she simply replied, her face full of sadness, knowing it was possible that girl he kissed, “Okay, I’ll take it” he informed her as she took the phone from Nicole and handed it to him before following Nicole out the door, not before she heard him say, “Hey, Michelle, how are you? Enjoyed the night?” he smirked while Emma felt her eyes swell with tears.

Laughing and playing around in the kitchen, Natalie stopped when she saw Emma emerged and move straight into the living room, and huddled into one of the cushy armchairs by the television, excusing herself from Hayden, she slipped round the side so she was sitting right in front of Emma, “Hey, are you alright?” she asked softly, seeing Emma shake her head, and she saw the clear, small tears fall down her face, “Do you want to talk about it?” she asked as Emma softly whispered, “I think I’m in love with Daniel” she confessed, “And, is something wrong?” she asked, “He won’t want me” she cried, “Don’t say that until you speak with him” she explained, “How did it start?” she asked, “Just before, I was in the room, watching him sleep, when I kissed him, only to find him returning the kiss” she replied as Natalie smiled, “Could he know it was you?” she asked, “Maybe, he did see me help him into the room and talk to me” she cried, as Natalie moved up onto the edge of the chair’s arm, “Look, I’m sure if we talk to him, he’ll understand and you never he might return your feelings. He might be with this other girl because he’s afraid you’ll turn him down” she explained, “You’ll help me?” she asked, wiping the tears off her cheeks, “You’re my friend, I would love to” she smiled, before winking, “I’m sure even Hayden will be willing to help by talking to Daniel” she smirked as she gave a light smile, “I would appreciate this, because I just need to know” she informed her as Natalie comforted her, rubbing her shoulders together, “I assure you we will do everything we can to help you, just as you have helped us” she assured her, before pulling her to her feet, “Now let’s spend the entire day together, getting ready” she added, pulling her towards the door, stopping in the kitchen, where Emma saw her whisper something to Hayden, who smirked in Emma’s direction, muttering something back to Natalie, giving her a quick kiss before she bounced back to where Emma stood, “Now we can go” she told her, dashing from the door.

Having observe everything from the living room, Nicole slowly rose to her feet and headed over in Hayden’s direction, leaning across the bench top, she smiled, “What was that all about and was Emma upset before?” she asked as Hayden smiled, “Guy problems and Natalie is going to help her out while I have to talk to her friend Daniel” he replied, “Is there any reason why?” she asked once more, as he shrugged, “Something about Emma thinks she’s falling for Daniel and is worried he will hurt her feelings because of his kiss with the other girl last night” he informed her, Nicole simply sighed, “Oh poor girl, love can be hard at times. Are you going to talk to him?” she asked, “Yeah, or Natalie will hurt me” he smirked seeing her roll her eyes, before another voice entered the air, “What’s going on? Talk to who?” they asked as Hayden and Nicole twisted their heads to see Ewan groggily moving towards the kitchen, “Just something Natalie ask me to do for Emma” he replied, “Uh huh. Does your head hurt as much as mine does?” he asked as Hayden let out a another laugh, “Bigger than ever” he told him as Daniel emerged from the room, “Well, I think Michelle’s starting to like me more” he informed them as Nicole only turned her gaze to Hayden, who’s smile turned from a grin to a serious look, “Yeah about that, do you want to take a walk down to the restaurant in the hotel. I need to talk to you about something” he spoke as Daniel slowly nodded, “Will it stop this headache I have?” he asked, “Sure” he smiled, before heading out the door followed by Daniel as Mischa was just entering.

“What was that all about? Where is everybody?” she asked Nicole, she was still angry with Ewan with what happened last night, “Natalie and Emma have gone out shopping while Hayden and Daniel have just headed down for something to eat and a talk” Nicole informed her, “Okay, anything said about last night?” she asked, as Ewan spoke up, “No, just massive headaches” he smirked, seeing her cold gaze staring back at him, “You deserve it. You think you would have learnt from last time” she snapped back as he stepped back, “Ouch, hostility, calm down, it was just fun” he laughed, “I will not calm down, you took out Hayden and Daniel for some fun and you brought them drunk as ever, before blurting out Daniel kissed a girl and I know I saw Natalie worry wondering if Hayden did that too!” she exclaimed, as Ewan waved a hand, “He wouldn’t do that, he loves her too much” he assured her as Mischa coldly stared at him, “I hope so, after what they’ve been through, they don’t deserve anymore trouble” she replied as Ewan once again spoke up, “Speaking of whom, Jude and Rachel have been awfully quiet haven’t they?” he asked as Nicole laughed, “Wouldn’t get too comfortable, they’re probably just planning something soon” she replied, “Hopefully we’ll be long gone by then” Ewan assured her as Mischa remained quiet, almost bitting her top lip, should she remain quiet about what happened last night? Or tell them that she saw Jude and Rachel with some unknown shady characters in the middle of Sydney last night?

With her oversized sunglasses over her deep, brown eyes and a light red headband sitting neatly on her dark, long, straight brown hair, Rachel just stared out from her seat at the local café, swarming with busy workers and customers, just hoping she could catch a glimpse of Hayden, Natalie or even the young girl who dared to attack her at the hotel, while Jude ordered their late breakfast at the counter, noticing the two sheets of paper in front of her, she slowly pulled it towards her, knowing it was Jude’s-she couldn’t help but to look through it once more while he wasn’t at the table: entitled “Things to do” it was a long list of his so called plan, with number one already crossed out:
1) Contact “old” friend back home, telling him to have everything prepared
2) Contact friend staying just outside of Sydney
3) Try and contact Natalie once more, asking for a “business” meeting with Hayden and her
4) Arrange for Natalie’s new friends to be blocked from having contact or being anywhere near them at the meeting
5) Explain plan and what I will be doing if they don’t cooperate
6) Live out a new life with a new lover or steal Natalie back and spend life with her
Rachel had to let out a small laugh, “So predictable” she thought, his plan was almost likely to succeed except for the last point, or at least half of it, “Steal Natalie back and spend life with her” that was totally unlikely to happen, placing the paper back in front of her as Jude made his way back to their table, “Fine plan, you have devised” she commented as he sat back down, eyeing her suspiciously, “I thought so too, let’s just hope it’s works” he replied, “Any idea when I know who these old friends are?” she asked as he laughed, “All in good time” he smiled as she started to clench her fist, “I can’t wait any longer, I want to know now!” she exclaimed, as several patrons around them, turned their heads, “Not here, I will tell you later, when you meet them” he smiled as she turned her head in the direction of the window, she couldn’t even bother to look at him any more-he had gone mad with content on winning her back so everything could go back to normal, letting a small sigh, she almost choked back on her breakfast when she saw two laughing, giggly girls, whom she recognised instantly.

Almost gliding down the busy side street, their arms full of shopping bags from a variety of stores, Natalie and Emma decided to stop off at a local café not too far from the harbour, where the smell of the water filled the air, “This has been so great, I really appreciate all this” Emma thanked her once again as Natalie simply smiled, “Anything for a friend and I can’t wait to see Daniel and Hayden’s faces when they see us tonight” she laughed as Emma laughed, “I can’t believe you’ve organised a double date to help me” she replied, “It’s what I do” she smiled, as the waitress moved over to take their orders just as Natalie’s cool, funky phone started to ring, “Hello” she answered before her face turned to fear as she heard a darker, creeper voice on the other end, “You must be very brave to wonder around these streets without your man” they spoke, “Who is this?” she asked, “Someone you don’t want to meet alone” they replied as Natalie’s deep brown eyes darted all around, “Now I want you to listen, I want to meet you face to face tonight inside Centrepoint Tower’s restaurant level two and bring your husband” they informed her, before the line went dead and Natalie met Emma’s concerned gaze, “What’s wrong? Was it Hayden about tonight?” she asked, feeling herself go red as she simply shook her head, “No, I think…I think…it was Jude or Rachel” she spoke seeing Emma twisting her head around, trying to spot her around.

Sitting in the hotel’s luxurious restaurant, Hayden and Daniel were enjoying a fine late breakfast while reviewing their actions at the club last night, “I know you kissed Michelle and you think you might like her as a girlfriend, however you should really look at your attitude last night” he explained to Daniel, “1-you were drunk, so was she. 2. I can vaguely remember her friends were encouraging the kiss to lighten up the night” he laughed as Daniel had to mention, “Wait, when did I kiss her?” he asked, “Right before the girls entered their hotel room for the morning” he answered him as Daniel looked at him, “Okay, but who was the girl I kissed on the bed in our hotel room?” he asked as Hayden clenched his teeth together, Should he mention Emma’s name or wait till tonight? He wondered, “Well, okay funny story, it’s not Michelle but it was a close friend who looked after you while you were passed out” he laughed, not seeing him return the laugh but looking confused until his eyes widen in shock, “Emma!” he exclaimed, “Yes, I only found out this morning and also Natalie’s organised a double date: her and me and Emma and you” he informed him as Daniel sunk back in his chair, “I can’t believe it. She kissed me; I never knew she liked me. I thought it was Michelle” he told Hayden as Hayden gave a slight shrug, “Life can be unpredictable, like that” he replied, “Then where was she when I emerged from the room?” he asked, “Shopping with Natalie” he answered him as Daniel let out a laugh, just as Hayden’s phone went off, making Hayden comment, “That’s probably them now, asking if we can help them with their bags” he laughed, “Hello” he answered into the phone, like Natalie’s before, his face turned into fear when he heard a dark, creepy voice reply, “Thought you’d be protecting your woman, jerk” they told him, “Who is this?” he asked, holding his voice strong, “Never mind who I am, I want to talk to you and your female tonight at Centrepoint Tower-level two restaurant. I’d advise you to come and listen to my offer” they explained to him, before Hayden held the line go dead and placing the phone back in his pocket as Daniel eyed him, “Well, was it Natalie?” he asked seeing him shake his head, “I think it was Jude or Rachel” he concluded as Daniel quickly turned around, making sure they weren’t nearby by.

Arriving back at their hotel room, full of shopping bags with glamorous outfits and accessories, they ushered Ewan into the living quarters and away from the bedroom, they needed to get ready and Natalie had to inform Nicole and Mischa over the strange phone call at lunch, “So you think it was Jude or Rachel that called you?” Mischa asked, as she helped layed out the outfits across the bed, “I am now sure it was one of them-their voice was darker but they are the only ones who want to meet us and what concerns me more is how they got my new number” she spoke as Nicole spoke up, “One of the reverse charges, probably said your name and got your number” she suggested as Emma held up a beautiful, stunning strapless pale baby blue dress, “This is just so beautiful, I can’t wait to see Daniel’s face when he sees me in this” she gushed, “He will love it, he’ll just be nervous and we’ll be there to help” Natalie assured her as Mischa spoke up again, “So explain this, you’re all going on this double date and then going to meet Jude and Rachel, I thought they said come alone” she pointed out, “Well, we can’t trust them and I’m sure Daniel and Emma will agree, besides Emma assured me, she’ll be coming with me” Natalie replied, as Emma nodded in agreement, hearing the more voices in the living room, as Natalie waved for Emma to hand her the bag full of clothes for Hayden and Daniel to wear tonight as they remained silent, just listening to the voices in the living room.

“They kicked you out here while they chat around in the bedroom” Hayden laughed as Ewan explained why he was lounging about here and all the girls were in the bedroom, “Yeah, but it’s worse. Natalie and Emma had bags of shopping with them, so they’re probably checking them out as well” he added as Hayden and Daniel exchanged a glance, “Probably for tonight” Hayden assured him at the same time before Ewan spoke again, “So, before when you arrived back at the room you said something of a strange phone call while you were downstairs, mind telling me about it?” he asked, seeing Hayden shrug, “Sure” he replied, “Well, the voice was dark, creepy like and wants to meet Natalie and me tonight” he informed him, “So what about the date?” he asked as Daniel looked to Hayden, “Date?” he asked as Hayden paused, he couldn’t say much about tonight so he had to make something up, “Natalie and I have a date tonight” he quickly replied with a wink to Ewan as the door open and out stepped Mischa, “There you are, Natalie said that this is for you, both you and Daniel” she smirked, “Thanks, very much” Hayden replied, taking the bag from her, “Probably clothes for tonight, better be something sensible!” he yelled out, with no reply before turning back to Daniel and Ewan, “This better be worth it” he muttered, as Mischa ducked back into the room.

For the first time, in a long time, Jude and Rachel were sharing a laugh together, “Do you think that they have any idea that it was us?” Rachel asked, wiping the tears from her eyes, as Jude shook his head, “I hope not, I changed my voice so it sounded different from usual” he assured her, “Thanks for pointing out Natalie and her friend” Jude added as Rachel smirked, “Part of the plan wasn’t it. Do you think they will show up tonight?” she asked, “If they want us to leave them alone, they will come” he replied as she quickly agreed, “It will be hard to let him go but for the right agreement, I will” she laughed as he smiled, “There you go, that’s the whole plan” he smiled, as they clinked their glasses together.

As the afternoon fast approached, Hayden and Daniel had changed into their outfits, black pants with tight, deep blue silky shirts, “I thought that she had brought something worse” Hayden joked as they checked themselves out in the bathroom, “Sometimes you have to trust them to choose the right clothes for you, after all, they know all about fashion” Daniel joked in reply as Hayden gave a laugh, “Yeah, you’re right about that” he commented, before heading out into the living room where Ewan and Mischa were waiting for them, “Well, don’t you two look handsome tonight?” Mischa gushed, “You should let Natalie do all your shopping” she added as Ewan smirked, “Oh please, he can’t do that because where’s his control in the relationship?” he asked as Mischa snapped back, “Just because she’s shops for him doesn’t make him any less of a man” as Hayden, just shook his head as Daniel spoke up, “When will Emma and Natalie be ready?” he asked as Mischa nodded, “Shortly, they’re just slipping into their dresses and I think you will be shell shocked when you see them” she smiled as Hayden assured her, “Natalie could wear just shorts and a singlet top and look ravishing” he commented before moving over to the lounge with Daniel.

Admiring their beautiful dresses in the mirror, Natalie gave a swift spin around, she wore a stunning, violet with a touch of sparkling pale pink dress with sparkling violet, pale pink high heels as her luscious brown curls fell pass her face, touching her shoulders as Emma finished combing down her straighten, sandy blond hair, her beautiful, strapless, pale baby blue dress fit with baby blue sparkling heels looked divine as Nicole commented, “You look truly beautiful, they will love you, be blown away” as Natalie breathed slightly, “I know, I can’t wait till we get out there” she replied, “Are you ready?” Nicole asked as Emma and Natalie exchanged a glance with each other, both very nervous, “Yes, we’re ready” Natalie informed her as Nicole moved forward to the door, “We’re ready!” she called out as everyone turned in her direction and out stepped a gorgeous Natalie making Hayden grin more, he slowly moved over to her, gently kissing her left hand, “You are truly stunning” he spoke as she smiled, “Why thank you, you look utterly handsome” she replied, looking over at Daniel, “Daniel, there’s someone here you might like to see” she informed him before she placed her arm through Hayden’s then moving out of the way as a ravishing Emma emerged into the room, taking everyone by surprise, including Daniel, “Wow, wow, you look incredible” he gasped as she blushed, “Thankyou” she smiled as he moved over and she slipped her arm through his’s as Hayden spoke up, “Well we should get a move on” he told them as Daniel looked at him, “What? I thought you had a date” he reminded him, “Yes, it’s a double date like I told you earlier or rather hinted” he corrected him, “This is so amazing” he replied before leading Emma out towards the exit followed by Hayden and Natalie, who whispered into his ear, “Don’t they look so cute?” she asked, who smiled back, “Yes, quite the matchmaking couple aren’t we?” he smirked, “They’re only taking after us” he added as she returned her reply with a soft, sweet kiss on his cheek as they departed down the well lit corridor.

Now for another instalment of my little side story-I’ll bet that chapter kept you wanting more!

The days were going by fast, waiting for news of Daniel’s cousin’s friends to arrive undetected into the city so a messenger could be sent to the King that they have his Princess and her friends and begin the plan. The time spent locked up in the room, too afraid of being seen by anyone was killing everyone inside, Hayden spent most of his time with Natalie as well as sharing time with Ashley who would plead with them to play with her and Mischa while Ewan spent close time with Nicole, knowing that Natalie was still feeling “untrusting” of him since he was one of the knights who snatched her from Hayden’s arms to be dragged to the palace while Daniel and Emma kept in conversation with their friends while going through the plan over and over just to get it right, ducking out to see if his cousin’s friends had arrived. Everyone just couldn’t wait for it all to be over, no one more than Hayden, who knew the very place they would head to once they left this village. He was going to marry Natalie straight away then decide what they would do, now that they were suppose to be “dead”.

Ever since her interaction with Jude, Rachel began more cautious how she worked out her plan, secret discussions with her security about her maidens and their process, which was very little, no sign of them, “They can’t have gotten far, because they aren’t enough villages in the country to hide in, so you’ve missed something and you’ve gone right past them!” she snapped to her guards, who had just returned from another unsuccessful search of the roaming plains, “We’re been searching, we can’t you understand they could be dead. I mean, there are a lot of dangers out there and they can’t survive for much longer” the first guard spoke, only making Rachel fume more, “They have a young boy there, obviously some background in hunting! He will help them find some food!” she exclaimed, just as a messenger came barging through, “Your highness, the King has received an important message! You might want to come and see this!” they exclaimed, glaring at her guards, she snarled, “This conversation isn’t over” she snapped, angrily brushing past them, towards the throne room, eager to see what this messenger had found.

Almost out of breath by the time he arrived back at the room, Daniel and Emma rushed through, startling Hayden, Natalie and Ashley who were closest to the front of the room, “What’s wrong?” Hayden asked as Ewan popped around the corner, eager to discover what all the rushing was for, “Okay……okay…it’s…almost…almost…” Daniel panted as Emma took over, “We have sent a friend with a message to the King and we can confirm he has arrived at the castle” she finished as the tension started to build up between the group as Ashley clung to her brother, obviously she was still too young to understand the whole plan as Hayden informed them, “Then tonight, using the cover of darkness, we escape to the stables and remain their till Emma informs us it has worked” as Daniel regained his breath, “That’s the plan. The hunters are in position and my cousin has offered them a huge reward for their help” he replied, as Nicole and Mischa appeared next to Ewan, “What’s going on?” they asked, “What’s all the commotion?” Mischa asked, locking eyes with her brother’s bright, determined blue eyes, “The King has been alerted and once the darkness appears over this village, we run towards the stables and remain there until we can leave” he firmly informed her, “And let’s hope this works” she replied as Hayden looked over at Natalie, “It will work” he added, before he shared a tender kiss with her.

Rachel sat firm and tall in her plush, cushy throne right next to Jude, noticing how he never took his eyes off the young messenger, who brought news of the Princess’s whereabouts, of course, what he was telling them, he was told to say by Daniel, still Jude had some questions before he truly believed the messenger, “And you’re sure you saw them?” he asked as the messenger nodded, “Yes, when I arrived at the village yesterday, I immediately recognised the gorgeous Princess in the window of the town’s hotel, with a male arms draped around her waist” he replied, seeing Jude clench his fist but remain strong, “I see. How could did you know for sure it was them and not someone else?” he asked as the messenger went on, “I overheard two children coming down the stairs, talking about how they can’t believe they are talking to Princess Natalie” he answered, as Rachel jumped to her feet, “Well, that’s all we need, thankyou for your time. You may return to wherever it was you were doing” she snapped, ushering him out before turning back to Jude, a sly smirk across her face, “So, shall I prepare the soldiers?” she asked as Jude looked away, “Yes, but also the carriage. I will be going as well. If I had gone in the first place, we wouldn’t have any of this to deal with” he replied as Rachel stammered, “What! You can’t trust your own men!” she exclaimed, as he now was the one to smile, “No, I can’t trust you. I will be going and you are welcome to join me, maybe I’ll let you have the young peasant and sisters as slaves instead of killing them” he told her, moving down the carpeted hall, to prepare for his journey as Rachel felt the angry swelling, “It is almost time. You will be dead as will your Princess and I will be Queen, like it should have been” she muttered before summoning her own guards and proceeding down to her chambers to prepare for the journey.

It was almost nightfall, soon they would make a dash for the stables, Natalie suddenly felt like she had a bad feeling about this, like something could go wrong, Jude could see through this trick but she had stared at her supposed decoy hundreds of times and she looked exactly like her-it was like she was her. Adjusting the ends of her dress, she did not sense the figures emerging behind her until one spoke, “Do you still plan on being with my brother?” they asked, in a sweet voice, that only made Natalie smile as she moved around, so she was standing in front of Hayden, who was holding Ashley in his arms, tears falling down her face, she whispered, “Yes, I do” seeing her giggle as Hayden laughed, “I didn’t tell her to say that by the way” he pointed out as she moved closer to him, taking his hand in her’s, “It doesn’t matter” she assured him, bringing herself in for a romantic kiss as she added, “Because I love you” as he smirked, “I know” with his cheeky, sweet grin that made her blush, sharing another kiss as another voice broke the moment, “Ready to go?” they asked as Natalie looked over and saw Ewan standing with Daniel, Hayden looked down at Natalie, still holding her hand firmly, he nodded towards his friends, “Yes, let’s do it” he simply replied.

Chapter 36

Just like most nights, Sydney was crowded with traffic and partygoers moving through the different clubs and restaurants, lights and noise throughout the streets, almost like loud music to one’s ears as Hayden, Natalie, Daniel and Emma took the perfect evening to stroll the streets from their hotel to the Italian restaurant, hands in hands, it was perfect. Emma turned around and smiled at Natalie, it was all her idea and it was working, of course, what was about to happen next, was not part of the plan.

Just a few blocks away from the restaurant, Hayden and Daniel had an old reunion with some old friends, dressed in short, knee length dresses and stylish shoes, Stephanie and Michelle stepped out of the night club to see their friends moving towards them, “Hayden! Daniel!” they exclaimed, dashing towards them, as Hayden and Daniel became very nervous, “Stephanie, Michelle, what a nice surprise” Hayden laughed, sensing Natalie and Emma’s looks, “It’s great to run into you again” Daniel added, seeing Michelle smile sweetly at him, “You too, so who are your friends?” Stephanie asked, as Daniel quickly remembered, “Uh, this is my friend Emma and Hayden’s wife, Natalie” he informed them, “Nice to meet you. How do you know Hayden and Daniel?” Natalie asked, seeing both girls giggle, “We met them last night at the club” Stephanie smirked as Natalie looked to Emma, who had gone quiet so she took over, “This is a lovely meeting but we have our dates to continue” she informed them, holding onto Hayden’s tightly and directly in front of the girls, “Well, it was nice to run into you again and hope to do it again” Stephanie smirked as Natalie gave hr a cold stare and brushing past with Hayden, as Emma moved off with Daniel before Michelle could flirt anymore with him, towards the restaurant.

“So they seem nice, don’t they?” Natalie asked, in a tone that couldn’t express care or concern as Hayden sighed, “She is a friend I met at the club with Ewan and Daniel and nothing happen” he replied as Emma had to ask, “So you really see me a just a friend?” looking at Daniel, her voice full of sadness as he smiled, looking back at Hayden and Natalie, their eyes met his’s, urging him to answer her question, “Emma, you will always be my friend but…” his voice trailed over, before he leaned over and gave her a light kiss on her cheek, “There is always a chance to develop our “friendship” more” he added as her face formed a cheerful smile, before she flung her arms around his neck, almost knocking him off his feet, “Oh, you’ve made me so happy now” she cried, before they regained themselves and moved into the restaurant, where the aroma of a variety of delicious, various Italian foods filled the front foyer, travelling with them as they were shown to their table, “This is so beautiful, what a magnificent restaurant” Emma gushed as Natalie smiled, “I remembered this restaurant, because this was the very same restaurant that Hayden took me to on our first date together” she smiled, leaning over to share a tender, sweet kiss with him as Daniel looked over at Emma, she looked utterly adorable in her strapless baby blue dress, he touched her hand softly before he edged himself closer to her, her eyes met his’s, and he smiled, he shared a beautiful kiss with her.

Lounging around the hotel for the whole night was not that much fun, “I am so bored. There is not much to do in here” Ewan complained as Mischa pointed out, “I think you need a night in because on two occasions, you came back drunk as ever and almost ruined everything” as Ewan looked at her, confused, “What did I almost ruined?” as she sighed, rolling her eyes, “Well, you showed up 25 minutes late for the wedding, you made Natalie wonder if Hayden cheated on her and introduced Daniel to a girl making Emma upset as she had feelings for him” she reminded him but he argued back, “But.. if it wasn’t for me, Daniel and Emma wouldn’t have shared their kiss” he smirked turning his head to see Nicole emerge from the bathroom, cleaned, dressed and ready to go somewhere, “Where are you going tonight?” he asked her, as she giggled, “Well, I am off to meeting with a director then I am meeting my husband” she replied, “I have to continue with my life too, you know” she added as Ewan gave a half smile, “Of course, you have helped out a lot and now you want to spend time with family and continue with your career” he shrugged, as Mischa gave a laugh, “Oh please, you knew this was coming, soon we all will be leaving and going off on our separate ways. I mean Emma was telling us how Daniel and her were only here for a short stop then they have to go off again and I’m sure Hayden and Natalie have business they have to do” she pointed out, seeing Ewan snigger, “Business? If that’s what you call it” he laughed as Mischa threw her arms in the air and moved towards the balcony, “Why do I even bother?” she asked out loud as Nicole gave a smile, “I’ll be heading off. I should be back in the morning. Hope everything goes well tonight for the others” she spoke up before exiting the room just as Ewan rose to his feet, “I’m not staying here any minute longer. I’m going downstairs” he announced, heading for the door as Mischa spoke, “I’ll come too, I need to get out too” she confessed.

Still at least 2 ½ hours away from meeting up with Hayden and Natalie, Jude and Rachel still arrived at the restaurant earlier than expected so they could enjoy a meal before they got to business, Rachel emerged from the lift in a dazzling, gorgeous outfit that she remember Hayden always love her in-her thick, straight, dark brown hair with reddish streaks running through her, tucked behind her ears as she looked over at Jude, in conversation with another figure, shaking her head, she moved over to him where she could listen in on the conversation.

“So you know what to do, then?” Jude asked the figure who gave a smirk, “Yes, my friends are scattered throughout this hotel not to mention on the bottom floor of this tower. When your friends arrive, they will notify me up here and I will notify you and if they’ve brought anyone else” he replied, as Rachel, who wanted to acknowledge her presence, asked, “What will you do if they have brought others?” as Jude spoke next, “What they do, is they will walk over to the group and separate them from Hayden and Natalie because we want no interruptions from friends in this meeting, do we?” he stared down at her, eyes cutting through her’s, “Of course not, especially not after what happened last time” she reminded him as he gave half a smile, “Yes, of course, now into your position and we’ll adjourn to the restaurant” he smiled, leading her in to the restaurant, which slowly revolved around as they ate.

The double date was more perfect than any of them had expected, the beautiful, smells of the Italian foods were too good to pass up, Hayden’s arm draped around Natalie’s slim waist as he leaned in while she fed him food from her plate while Daniel had his arm draped around Emma’s waist, causing her to giggle as he slightly started to tickle her, she looked over to Natalie, speaking up, “This has been such a magical night, thanks so much for all this” she gushed as Natalie smiled, “It was the least I could do” she replied, as Hayden laughed, “If only it wasn’t ruined by having to meet up with Jude and Rachel once more” he pointed out as Daniel suggested, “Hopefully it’s for the last time, then we can finally not worry about what they’re doing now” as Hayden gave another laugh, “I hope that’s true, so we can finally have some alone time” he smirked, turning to Natalie, and started to kiss her neck and around her side of her face as she giggled, before going slightly red, “Oh Hayden, you are so sweet” she told him as Emma and Daniel could not help but smile, “They look so happy don’t they?” she asked, “Yes, and you look lovely tonight” he added as she returned her reply with a sweet, romantic kiss on his soft lips, “That was beautiful, you look so handsome tonight” she smiled, returning to their meals.

“Why do I have such a bad feeling about them meeting Jude and Rachel tonight?” Ewan asked Mischa as they lounged about in the recreational section of the hotel, “Because we care for our friends and don’t want to see them hurt. I mean, you more than all of us because you’ve known them longer” Mischa pointed out, before grabbing some snacks to eat, “Yeah, true. I hope that with Daniel and Emma there, they won’t try anything too rash” he pointed out as Mischa gave a smile, “What would you do if you found out something that you think you should have told them?” she asked as he once again looked at her, confused, “What do you mean? Did you see something?” he asked, “I’m not sure. That night, I stormed from the hotel, disgusted that Hayden, Daniel and you were drunk, I was just strolling down the street when I saw, or thought I saw, Jude and Rachel with some dark, shadowy figures. I think they were planning something” she confessed as Ewan nearly choked on his drink, “What!?!” he exclaimed, “Please tell me it was someone else?” he asked, “I’m not sure. I thought I recognised Rachel, then as I got closer it was Jude too” she replied, now wishing she hadn’t said anything, as Ewan shrugged, “I only hope that it may have been about something else and had nothing to do with tonight” he suggested as Mischa gave a nervous smile, somehow she didn’t quite feel confident that tonight would not go as easy as expected, looking over at Ewan, who seemed to relax once more-when she thought they should be checking out the situation, but allowed herself to lounge back, with her drink and enjoy her night.

Almost 2 hours later, Hayden emerged from the restaurant with his arms draped around Natalie, who had his thick, warm, black jacket draped over her shoulders, cuddling up to Hayden while Emma had her arm linked through Daniel’s leaning her head on his shoulder before following Hayden and Natalie towards their next stop, “I feel so bad. We were going to go to a movie next and now we have to cancel it” Natalie spoke up as Hayden smiled, “We’ll all go tomorrow morning to the same movie and make it feel like it was last night” he assured her, “I think that will be nice” Emma spoke up as they could see Centrepoint Tower coming into view as Hayden started to a lump forming in his throat-I have a bad feeling about this he thought.

Watching from their stationed posts, they observed the four figures moving their way towards the tower, “Uh, we have a little problem” the first spoke into his walkie talkie, “What problem?” he heard a rough, angry reply, “The targets are coming but they have company” the first answered him, “Why are you telling me? You know what to do, so do it!” the reply snapped, cutting the conversation off, leaving the figures to exchange looks with each other, “Then I guess we know what to do” he told his companion, moving over to the entrance just as the four figures just entered the tower.

Enjoying their beautiful dinner, Jude and Rachel did not see the figure stroll up to them, “Uh, we have some news” he spoke up, causing Jude to look up, “Yes” he slowly spoke, “They have arrived, however they have brought company and I have ordered the men to separate them. They should be bringing them up shortly” he informed them as Rachel took a sip of her drink, “Let’s hope they agree to this agreement, I am not all that ready to move on and say goodbye” she muttered as Jude laughed, “well, you may have to because there is a chance they will agree to this and we are out of the picture” he reminded her, resuming back to their meals.

His bright, blue eyes glared intently around the dimly lit foyer of the Tower, no wonder around or so they thought. As they moved over to the lift, they were stopped, “hold it right there” came a voice, as Hayden tighten his grip on Natalie’s waist, she gripped his hand as Emma gripped Daniel’s hand, “I know you’re here to see Jude and Rachel, however they’ve only asked for you two, so would you other two follow us this way” the figure informed them as they exchanged a glance, “I think we can all go up together” Hayden replied, “Not on my watch” he told them, as his companion grabbed Daniel and Emma by their shoulders, pulling them towards another section of the floor, “Why can’t they come?” Natalie asked, her voice felt shaky, “Because they’re not wanted. Move, move, move” he snapped, ushering them into the lift.

The restaurant was starting to empty out as Hayden and Natalie exited the lift, clasping each other’s hand tightly, wondering if this was suddenly such a good idea as they were escorted to Jude and Rachel’s table, who had not bothered to look up, but spoke, “Your friends will be fine. They just needed to be kept out of the way of this little meeting” Jude informed them, rising his head slowly, his eyes lit up with fascination, “Natalie, you are truly a beauty” he gushed as Hayden rolled his eyes, “Oh my god” he muttered, “Please have a seat” he indicated as they slipped into two chairs opposite Jude and Rachel, “Why do you want to see us again?” Natalie asked, a sense of angry in her voice, as he smiled, “I have something you might want to hear and make you feel much happier” he informed them, “Does it involve you fleeing and escaping our lives?” Hayden asked, with a slight laugh, “No, but you’re almost there” Jude smirked, ignoring the laugh, “I’ve decided there’s only one way I’ll give up and move on, but you’re going to help me” he answered them “How do we know that this is the truth?” Natalie asked, “Because this is what I want and I can use this” he replied, then glaring towards Hayden, “Before some people ruined everything” he added as Hayden gave a startled look, “Why don’t you just tell us, why can say no and we’ll be off” he smirked back as Rachel, who had enough of listening to this mindless, off topic conversation, “I think I’m going to take over now” she spoke up, “What Jude is trying to explain, is that he needs you to retrieve something of great importance he left in Rome, when departing in a great haste” she explained, giving a slight, seductive smile at Hayden, before going on, “However there is a catch, only you may go with anyone but Natalie” she added, as Hayden became shocked, “What! They is no way I’m going to leave the country, travel to Rome, knowing that Natalie is here with you, knowing you’re going to trick me” Hayden laughed, as Jude snapped back, “Without my money!” he exclaimed, as Rachel placed a hand over her face, “That was the one thing that you weren’t going to mention” she thought, seeing Hayden laugh, which shocked her because she thought they would be horrified, “You’re kidding me, you want to retrieve your money? Do it yourself” he laughed, once more as Natalie joined in, “You are really low, like you thought this would work” she laughed as Jude shrugged, “Well, if you don’t want to, then I guess you don’t trust each other” he told them as Hayden suddenly felt the urge to reach over and punch the life out of him, “I trust her, it’s you I don’t trust” he glared at him, before turning to Rachel, “Or you” he added, seeing her give a startle expression, before smirking, “So what do you say? Will you retrieve this suitcase or will you continue to live in fear of constantly being haunted by Jude or myself?” she pointed out as Hayden stopped, she had a valid point-this was their chance to get rid of their ex’s forever, should they take it? He glanced over at Natalie, who’s bright, intense brown eyes met his, she was thinking the exact same thing, however, could they trust Jude and Rachel while Hayden was away retrieving the suitcase back in Rome. He let out a deep sigh, “I guess we have no choice. Let’s get this over with” he replied, seeing big, wicked grins cross their faces, “I knew you would see the right way” Jude told him as Hayden added, “But, I want your word that while I am gone, you are not to try anything funny” his eyes coldly piercing their’s as Rachel laughed, “I assure you, nothing will happen” she assured him as Natalie straightened herself in her seat, gripping Hayden’s hand stronger, somehow she didn’t like what Rachel has just assured them

The room was black with darkness, they had no idea where they were, only hoping that Hayden and Natalie’s meeting with Jude and Rachel had gone alright, Daniel looked over at his friend, who was starting to shiver, he slipped off his jacket and moved over to place it over her shoulders, as she looked up, flicking a strand of sandy blonde hair from her face, “Thankyou” she whispered as he placed his arms around her small arms, “It will be alright. I’m sure Hayden or Natalie wouldn’t let anything bad happen” he assured her as she looked into his eyes, “Then why wouldn’t they let us attend the meeting?” she asked, her voice quivered with fear, “I’m sure they just wanted no interruptions” he smiled, looking down into her soft, eyes, and while he stroked her arm with his other hand, he leaned in to give her a passionate kiss in the darkness.

[How was that for a twist! Now for another part of our little medieval story]

Under the cover of darkness with the bright, small, silver stars twinkling in the sky, Hayden, Natalie, Ashley, Mischa, Ewan and Nicole made a dash for the stables where their horses were waiting, so they were out of sight and could escape right after everyone left. Daniel and Emma remained at the hotel, where they prepared the “decoys” for the oncoming encounter with the King. Moving further and further down the back of the stables and out of sight of the entrance, they remained silent as Hayden looked over at Natalie, who gave a small smile, reaching out for his hand, he took it immediately, hoping that this whole plan would work, he was not ready to lose her again. Not like last time.

The sky burned brightly in the morning sky as Hayden awoke that morning to see his sister Mischa busily chatting with Natalie, Ashley, helping their mother in the kitchen with breakfast before she took Ashley into the village to pick up some essentials while their father exited the house towards the yard to attend to the animals and crops. Both girls giggled as he made his way towards the kitchen before he gave Natalie a small smile, making her blush. She had shocked him last night by saying that she wouldn’t mind a life like his’s, you could anything you want and be who you want to be she had told him. He was glad he met her. After enjoying a small, but delicious breakfast, Ashley left with their mother while Mischa, Hayden and Natalie exited to the yard to assist their father, Natalie positioned herself off to the side watching them work before Hayden pulled her over to them and started to show her what to do, she giggled when she started, it felt so weird. However the sound of horses galloping towards them, was about to ruin everything.

“Oh, it’s that King Jude’s army. I wonder what they want with us?” Mischa heard her father asked, as she looked over at her brother with Natalie, “I hate to guess” she replied, as he dropped his equipment, “Stay here” he ordered her, moving over to the troops, Hayden noticed his father was moving off and observed him moving over to where the knights had stopped, “This can’t be good” he muttered, “Stay with Mischa” he told Natalie as he moved over to his father, “Look, we don’t any trouble and we haven’t done anything” his father was telling the soldiers, “Really? Then, how do you explain a lone scout reporting that he saw your son run off back home with the Princess?” the leader asked, “He saved her, he was protecting her” he fought back, “He should have brought her back to the King. He would have been rewarded nicely, and considering the state you live in, I would have done that” he laughed, “I think you should leave” Hayden spoke up, “No, we are to retrieve he Princess and we will do that” he informed him, “Men, you have your orders” he told them as they descended the horses, Hayden and his father moved further away, “Son, take your sister and the Princess out of here. I’ll handle them” he ordered him, “But I …” Hayden started, “No, go now!” he shouted as he took off, grabbing the girls and running back towards the house. Thinking they were safe, they had not seen half of the soldiers to enter around the front, banging down the door and charging at them, Hayden held them back as best he could, but these soldiers were slightly better and over powered him, knocking him to the ground, and just as was getting to his feet, he heard more screams and saw one soldier [later on, he finds out this soldier helps them in the end] dragged a screaming Natalie into the room and out the door, the second lot, dragged the father in and laughed, “You should have thought twice before messing with us” the leader spat, exiting the house as Ashley was running in, “Hayden!” she screamed, “They took the pretty girl!” she went on, seeing Mischa help her brother and father over to the lounge, Hayden couldn’t even respond, she was gone-like how it was suppose to be but he couldn’t accept it.

Preparing his horse, that night, he was started when a voice broke the silence, “I can’t believe you’re going after her” the voice told him, “I love her, and I going to bring her back” he told her, not bothering to look up “She’s a Princess! You knew they would come eventually!” Mischa exclaimed, “She told me she doesn’t want him now and I am going to bring her back” he argued back, “You’ll be killed for sure” Mischa pointed out, “I’ll be out of there before they even know I’m there” he smirked as he ascended his horse, “Don’t worry, I’ll be back in no time” he smiled, as she watched him speed off into the distance, wondering if he would be alright.

He had risked everything to bring her back to him, and in the process, gotten his sister captured, his parents killed and turned a soldier of the King’s army traitor, was it all worth it or was he just selfish and didn’t want anyone else to have her. Shaking his head, he didn’t believe these thoughts, they were going to be alright hopefully.

Before dawn have even broke the following morning, Jude and Rachel emerged down the palace steps and into their luxurious fancy royal carriage, the time was near, soon Jude would have his Queen, little did he know, that he wouldn’t live to be with her for more than a day, because of Rachel’s plans to knock him off his throne. Little did they know that they were about to be taken for a wild ride and would end up with no one. As the carriage pulled away from the castle, Rachel looked over at Jude, “Well, your highness, you are finally going to get what you want, perhaps some slaves as well?” she asked as he laughed, “Why do I want her friends as slaves. They will pay for defying me” he replied as she sighed, “Well, I guess you’re prepared for everything” she told him, slightly rolling her eyes, this was taking forever, she just wanted to be Queen, this country needed a ruler and a decent ruler than Jude.

Daniel and Emma stared out of the window overlooking the small village, they could see the outline of two of the hunters looking down from their position, giving them a small signal, telling them they were waiting. Emma slowly saw the sun rising in the distance followed by a fast approach of dust clouds swarming in the distance, “They’re coming” she spoke as Daniel nodded in agreement, following her gaze, “Then let’s go meet them” he told her, heading for the door as Emma ran over to him, “Are you sure this will work?” she asked once more, “Look, they look like them, we have the hunters. It will work. It always has” he assured her, emerging out of the hotel, as the royal carriage pulled into the village, worried villagers remaining in their homes, watching these two young adults walk confidently up to the soldiers and royals, hiding their smiles they changed to serious looks as they saw Jude and Rachel exit the carriage.

Jude eyed the young adults strolling towards them, serious as they looked, he wondered why they were the ones to confront them, however Rachel was thinking faster than him and snapped, “What do you little people want?” she asked, holding her hands firmly on her hips, “We know why you’re here and we’re here to turn them in” Daniel spoke, “Well, then, you are good villagers after her” she smiled, “Now hand them over!” she snapped once more as Emma spoke up, “Why do you want so badly?” she asked, innocently, though she already knew days before, she decided to play innocent so she didn’t make them suspicious, as Rachel snapped, “we don’t have time for this! Hand them over!” she snapped, going redder than ever as Jude placed a hand on her shoulder, “Rachel, I think she is incline to know why we want them. The Princess is due to become my bride, the traitorous knight will be killed and the young peasants will either join him or I’ll pass them over to my friend here as slaves” he informed her, smiling brightly as Emma gasp, “That’s horrible!” she exclaimed, “They had it coming” he replied, “Now bring them out, now or you will join them!” he snapped just like Rachel had as Daniel and Emma jumped, “Alright then, we’ll just go get them” he replied, moving towards the hotel, he gave a slight wink to the overhead hunters in positions and entered the back room in the hotel, “Okay, it’s started. You walk out there and slowly walk towards the King and Queen” he reminded them as they nodded, watching them go, Daniel turned to Emma, “See, I told you, it’s going to work” he smiled, moving back outside to watch the interaction.

“They should have done it by now” Ewan spoke up as Nicole smiled, “It depends if they’re arrived yet” she told him as Natalie peered around the corner, “Let’s just hope that they are really that the decoys are convincing enough to fool Jude” she told them as Hayden smiled, “I think he’ll be so overwhelmed to see you that he won’t think twice that it’s not really you” he assured her as she wrapped her arms around him, moving closer for comfort, as they just listened out to see when they could finally be free of all this trouble.

Chapter 37

With one final look at Jude and Rachel, Hayden slowly rose to his feet, extending a hand out to help Natalie up and another cold stare at the other two, “I am glad to see that this meeting was productive and that no thing goes wrong” he warned them as Rachel gave him a shocked look, “Hayden! I am appalled that you would say that! When we plan something with you, we stick to our word” she snapped back as he laughed, “Yeah, we’ll see once this is over” he replied, before he led Natalie towards the exit before Jude spoke up, “Aren’t we forgetting something?” he asked as Rachel whispered in a low voice, “What are you doing?” seeing them turn around, “What now? I am losing my patience” Hayden informed him as he only laughed, “This” he replied, throwing him a small, black travel bag, “You’ll need this for when you leave for Rome” he smirked as Hayden gave a small smile, “Thanks” he muttered before he exited into the lift with his firm, but relaxed grip on Natalie.

Once they were sure that they had descended into the lift, Jude left out a burst of laughter, “Well, that went better than I expected” he told Rachel as she joined in, “I know, they totally went with it” she added as she clinked her glass with his’s, “Yes, they did. Like I would give up her, she is so beautiful” he told her as Rachel nearly choked on her drink, “What! I wasn’t meaning that! You cannot be serious. It was just take the money when he hands it over and then off we go” she reminded him as he sighed, “Rachel, Rachel, hasn’t anyone told you, you fight for what you want down to the very end, till the very last moment” he informed her as she rolled her eyes, “You’ll get the money but you won’t get her” she pointed out before she slowly rosed to her feet and moved towards the rest rooms.

The area was so dark, no one could hardly see anyone-it was almost impossible to see if anyone else was with, “It shouldn’t take this long for one meeting” Emma pointed out as Daniel replied, “If they had some hidden agenda for tonight’s meeting, we would have heard something by now” as he twisted around, squinting in the darkness as the soft sounds of footsteps echoed against the floor, “Who’s there?” he asked into the darkness as Emma was now on her feet, “If it’s Rachel, I want to finish what I started” she assured Daniel as voices started to enter the air, “Are you sure it was this way?” one asked, “I know this way I’m sure of it” the other assured them, turning the corner, Daniel and Emma soon relaxed as they made out a small light from a lighter in front of them, and two familiar faces, “Hayden! Natalie! You’re still together!” Daniel pointed out as Hayden laughed, “You didn’t think I would let them pull us again, did you?” he asked them as Natalie spoke up, “I would never leave this man once again” she smirked, lightly giving him a sweet kiss before turning back to Daniel and Emma, “Come on, let’s get out of here” she told them and with that, they departed from the Tower as quickly as they could before Jude and Rachel changed their mind about their plan.

Once they were a few blocks away from the Tower, Daniel broke the silence, “So what exactly happened up there?” he asked as he saw Hayden and Natalie exchanged glances with each other, before Natalie spoke, “They want us to do one last errand, to call it, for them and instead of we, they want just Hayden to do it” she replied, as Emma asked next, “And what is that exactly?” as Natalie answered her, “They want Hayden to fly all the way to Rome to retrieve one of Jude’s suitcase he left when he left in a haste and he can take either you two or either Ewan, Mischa or Nicole but not me” she finished as Emma heard a hint of sadness in her voice, “What! Why!” she exclaimed as Hayden snorted, “Probably because if we went together, we would run off with his suitcase” pulling Natalie in closer to him, as Daniel laughed, “He is an idiot then, to think that. I mean it’s a chance to get rid of him and still doesn’t trust at least his former girlfriend” he told them as Hayden laughed, “I’m just worried he’ll try something when I’m out of the country” as Emma gasped, “You’re really going to go by yourself! Leaving Natalie here with just the rest of us and Jude and Rachel!” she exclaimed as Hayden, Natalie and Daniel turned and stared in disbelief at Emma’s sudden outburst, “I don’t have a choice. This is our only chance to be free from them” he replied as Emma wasn’t finished, “But you’re not even going to break the rules and take her! I mean, I wouldn’t trust Jude or Rachel as far as I could kick them” she pointed out, “I mean, they’ve probably got some agenda to get you out of the country then send Rachel to seduce you while Jude takes advantage of you not being here and goes after Natalie” she informed them as Natalie’s hands flew to her mouth, “She’s right! It’s one last chance to destroy us” she told them as Hayden only just smiled, “I can assure you I won’t allow that because I am going to do what Emma suggested and take you with me” he informed her as Daniel pointed out, “What if one of their new “friends” we met tonight, stop her from boarding the plan?” as Emma simply smiled, her eyes moving over to met Hayden’s, “Disguises, of course” she simply replied as they continued down the long, dark, empty street.

Deciding to head back up to their room, Ewan couldn’t stop thinking about what Mischa had told him, about seeing Jude and Rachel, with some unknown figures, who could they possible know to help them out in their plans. If they could, it would be disaster, maybe, it wasn’t what they were thinking of, maybe it was for afterwards. Completely different as he followed Mischa into the hotel room, who had been awfully quiet ever since she told him about what she had seen, “Maybe it’s not as bad as we think” he told her, breaking the silence, startled, “What?” she softly asked, like a whisper, “You know, maybe they were making plans for afterwards” he pointed out as she gave a small smile, “I hope so, I would hate for anything to happen tonight because of me. I mean, I’m the one who brought them here in the first place” she informed him as Ewan looked at her, confused at what she had just confessed, “What are you talking about?” he asked, “Well, I was the one who told Rachel, Hayden was here and I was the one who told them that you were in Bondi that day” she confessed, with a nervous smile as she saw a horrified expression cross his face, “That was you, I can’t believe it. Then why change sides?” he asked, “They were trying to succeed at a battle that couldn’t be won” she told him, looking away, before he moved towards her, turning her face back towards him, “You have done a wonderful thing. You done one thing wrong but you redeemed yourself by helping us now” he reminded her, “I am sure that everything turned out to be alright in the end. Besides, if something did happened, they would have let us know” he laughed, however Mischa just couldn’t see the lighter side of the situation.

Emerging out of Centrepoint Tower with their friends, Jude turned to the one closest to him, “So remember, in the afternoon, you will make your way over to the airport and remain there until he arrives” he reminded him as another spoke up, “What if she’s there?” they asked, “Like tonight, you deny her access, allowing anyone else with them, access on board” he repeated his instructions he had given them earlier before turning to Rachel, “Do you remember your orders?” he asked her, as she rolled her dark brown eyes in annoyance, “Yes” she huffed, getting into the waiting, parked car nearby as Jude snapped, “Don’t huff like that to me, you wanted this to happen and it’s happening, just you wait” he assured her, following her into the car before it drove off down the dark, quiet street.

Arriving back to the hotel, they scurried up to their room, the night’s events still fresh in their mind, turning the corner to their room, Hayden spoke up, “Well at least something good came from tonight” he told them as Natalie giggled, “What’s that, baby?” she asked, “The girls Daniel and I met at the club still like us” he replied as Natalie playfully hit him, “Hayden!” she exclaimed, seeing him give a playful smirk, “You know I was kidding. I meant we make a beautiful couple and Emma and Daniel open their feelings for each other” he told them as Emma giggled, “That’s for sure” she added as they entered the room, which was dark, not a single light on, which was strange because Hayden, at least expected Ewan to still be up, as Natalie moved over to switch on the main lights as a sharp flick of the lamp went on not too far from where they stood, “Finally, you’re back, I was worried I was going to have to send out a search party” they joked as Hayden simply smiled, “It took longer than we expected” he told him as Ewan eyed them suspiciously, from Daniel’s arm around Emma’s waist to Hayden’s arm around Natalie’s waist to his jacket around her slim shoulders, “So how did everything go? I can see that you are all still here but I also sense anger and perhaps another plan?” he asked, glancing at Emma, who gave a startled look, as Hayden moved with Natalie into the kitchen, “Where do we start?” he suggested before going on, “Jude and Rachel say they’ll leave us alone if I do one last “errand” for them, taking anyone else but Natalie” watching Ewan’s face, who let out a laugh, “You’re kidding right? You’re going to leave her while you do some errand?” he asked as Emma replied, “That’s what I said. He was going to leave her here and fly across to Rome and who knows what would have happened” she pointed out as Ewan agreed, “She’s right. You have to go together, regardless of what they say” he informed them, “I see your point and Emma’s suggested disguises but how are we going to work all this out in a matter of hours” he pointed out, as Emma spun back around to face them, almost knocking Daniel off his feet, “Hours! What do you mean hours!” she exclaimed, as Hayden and Natalie exchanged glances with each other, his eyes meeting hers, which told her, You tell them Nat, I can’t explain anymore, as Natalie turned back to their startled friends, “Well, Jude wants it done as soon as possible, so he’s told Hayden to meet him at the airport” she replied, glancing up at the clock behind Ewan, “This afternoon” she added as Emma started up again, “What! This afternoon! We’ll have to work fast to plan everything!” she exclaimed, as Natalie replied, “We will but right now, we just want to have some rest” she told them, as Hayden smirked, lifting Natalie over his shoulder, “That’s right. It’s been a long night and we would like to have a “rest” he smirked, winking at Ewan and Daniel before he carried a giggling Natalie towards their room, leaving a stunned Daniel, Emma and Ewan frozen to their positions.

“I can’t believe it! This afternoon! Boy, whatever Jude wants, must be of importance” Ewan commented as Daniel spoke up, “Probably is but if we don’t work on a disguise for Natalie, Hayden can forget about coming back because there won’t be anyone to come back to” he informed them as Emma and Ewan gave him confused looks, “Why don’t I like how you just said that?” Ewan asked as Daniel turned to him, “Well, if she stays here, Jude will find her and take her back and leave with her, and Hayden gets back and she’s not here, he gets angry with us because we didn’t stop them, hence he hates us and ends up at the starting line once again” he informed them as Emma gasped, “I have an idea! Mischa and I will on Natalie’s disguise using the outfits we brought yesterday while Ewan and you will go down to the airport and see if you can find out every flight to Rome for tomorrow afternoon and see if anyone we saw tonight is there” she informed them as Daniel smiled at her, “I think you’ve got a plan” he replied as she gave a return smile, feeling herself blush, wrapping her arms around his neck, “Of course, like Hayden said, we can work on all that in the morning, let’s go and have a “rest” first” she told him, sharing a sweet, romantic kiss before he led her into their room as Ewan moaned, “Why does everyone always have to kiss whenever I am in the room!” he exclaimed.

Thumbing through her magazines sprawled out in front of her, Mischa could not sleep, because of what she had told Ewan, even through he had assured her that they have forgotten what she had done wrong by helping them, there was a part of her that believed she shouldn’t be here that they could handle their next situation themselves anyway. She knew that she would be saying goodbye anyway shortly, Nicole was moving on, with her career and family life. It was only a few days, she had informed her that she couldn’t stay anymore, because she was heading further into the country to film scenes for a new movie she was very excited about and Emma had told her, that Daniel and her had to head back to their movie commitments shortly. Mischa knew she had plans too, she had only been out here because of fashion commitments and it had turned out to be a whole adventure and new friends as she looked over at the wedding photo of Hayden, Natalie, Nicole, Ewan, and herself, one of the few taken by Daniel and Emma, that night and a souvenir of what was suppose to be a magical night. All smiles and looks of happiness in the photos as Natalie looked so stunning in her dress while Hayden looked so dashing in his suit. Mischa smiled at the photo, putting it back on her nightstand as her phone chimed, searching through the magazines across the bed, she quickly found it and was surprised to hear a old, familiar voice on the other end.

Running her thin fingers through his now messy, blond hair, Natalie giggled more as he ran his hand down her slim waist, which started to tickle her, “You know how to make a perfect end to a perfect date” she commented as he smirked, “What about the meeting though?” he asked as Natalie ran a finger over his soft lips, “Shh, let’s not talk about that. Let’s just reflect on our beautiful date together” she told him as he smiled, “Understood” he assured as she leaned in to kiss his lips, “That’s better” she replied as he pulled her in closer, “In fact, I’m not finished yet” he smiled, pulling her on top of him, tickling her further, seeing her laugh, “Hayden! Stop it” she begged as he shook his head, “Not a chance, I want to hear more of your cute laugh” he told her as she giggled more, “I know how to stop this” she assured him, as she started to kiss his neck and side of his face, “Hey! That’s no fair” he argued, kissing her back.

“Okay, so we get to the airport around 12.00, that gives us time to check out afternoon flights, scout out possible targets for who might delay Hayden and Natalie’s departure for Rome and await their arrival at the airport” Ewan muttered to himself, he spent most of the night, in the back living room, organising a plan that also fitted in Emma’s part, “So Daniel and I leave for the airport at 11 to arrive at 12, and if Hayden’s flight is at 3.30 that afternoon, then we should have plenty of time, because Hayden and Natalie need to be there at least at 1.30” he went on, he had accidentally found out the time of his flight when he spotted a small, black travel bag outside the kitchen after they had all retired to their rooms, now looking through the items found in the bag-two plane tickets, one room key, the name of the hotel and hotel room number, a mobile phone with only two contacts and something that surprised him greatly, one, small, silver, sapphire, diamond ring. He picked up the ring once again, “Strange, looks like the engagement ring Hayden gave Natalie the night he proposed to her but Natalie said Jude threw the ring away right in front of her” he suddenly remembered, unless he threw it but snuck back into the room and kept it for himself, returning it now because by the time, Hayden found it, it might be the only thing he would have left, he thought, “Emma was right!” he exclaimed, placing the ring on the table, “Okay, now let’s resume this plan” he told himself.

Emma giggled as Daniel kissed her neck once more, “I thought you would never like me like this” she told him as he kissed her more, “I didn’t know if you would reject me if I confessed to liking you first” he replied, they had spent most of the hours, kissing and cuddling up together, now Emma sat on the edge of their bed, thumbing through some magazines she had borrowed from Mischa on possible disguises for Natalie, “Let’s have some more time together” he told her as she giggled, “We will, I just want to get this out of the way and tonight after they leave for Rome, we can all the time we want” she smirked, “I’ll hold you to that” he told her, moving into the bathroom as Emma thumbed through the magazines, “If we take this hairstyle, with those sunglasses, along this outfit and tall, black boots, Natalie will be able to board the plane undetected as Hayden’s cousin, who is travelling and her next stop is Rome” she told herself, “It’s the perfect disguise. Rachel and Jude will never see this coming” she laughed, running from the room, she ran right past Ewan towards Hayden and Natalie’s room, “Natalie! Hayden! Open up, I have some incredible news!” she exclaimed through the door.

Natalie moved for her robe, as Emma’s knocks got louder and louder, “It better be important news” Hayden told her as Natalie laughed, “Be nice sweetie, she just wants to help. After all, you do want me to come with you right?” she asked as he smirked cheekily, “I was thinking of getting Mischa to come instead” he joked as she gasped, before he made a sweet, innocence face which made her laugh, “You shouldn’t joke like that, baby” she pointed out, opening the door as Emma rushed in, “Hi, sorry to disturb you but I have the perfect disguise and identity for Natalie to use at the airport this afternoon” she explained to them as Hayden wrapped his arms around Natalie’s waist, “Okay, tell us” he told her, “Well, if we use this hairstyle, these glasses, this outfit and these boots, we can make your Hayden’s cousin, travelling across the world and your next stop is Rome” she excitedly told them as Hayden pointed out, “How did I find out she was here?” he asked, “You bumped into her just this morning” she answered, “But what about the clothes?” Natalie asked, “It’s okay, Mischa is out getting you the boots and the sunglasses, this is the same outfit we brought yesterday and Nicole’s going to do the hair” she answered once more as Natalie looked up at Hayden, “Let’s hope this works then” she told her as Emma nodded, “Trust me, this will work. Ewan is working on a plan right now, Mischa’s out buying the boots and glasses and we have the outfit” she assured them as Hayden spoke up, “Well, that’s great then. We’re going downstairs for some breakfast, would Daniel and you like to join us?” he asked, as she smiled once more, “Sure, then we get to work” she told them, running out for Daniel before they left with Hayden and Natalie for some delicious well prepared breakfast.

[Getting juicy now huh? Here’s the next instalment of our little medieval story]

Standing on the outskirts of the small village, Jude and Rachel watched the two young adults emerge from the hotel, followed by a small group, lead by the young Princess, dressed in exactly the same dress he last saw her in [Emma had lent Natalie one of her older sister’s dresses so she could give her beautiful royal ball grown to the decoy] He saw her hand clasped tightly with the young farmer, “I knew we would find you sooner or later. You have signed your executions!” he yelled out to the farmer as Rachel slapped him, “You assured me that the peasant was mine!” she shouted as he smirked, “I lied, but you can have his sisters as slaves and the red haired woman too” he smirked as she gasped, as she whispered under her breath, “You’ve also signed your death” turning her gaze back to the group slowly moving towards them, she could almost see Jude’s death in her eyes, when suddenly arrows flew out of nowhere, straight towards the group, striking each one of them as Jude’s eyes widen in horror as he saw her fall, the arrow piercing her heart as soldiers positioned themselves ready for attack as half of the troopers ran around the village, trying to find the attackers while Daniel and Emma ran forward, with looks of horror on their faces, “Oh no, this wasn’t suppose to happen” Daniel gasped, as the head soldier strolled over to him, “Well, are they still alive?” he snapped, “No, they’re all dead” Daniel told him, holding the small body of “Ashley” in his arms as Jude stormed up to them, “No, no, this can’t be happening” he cried, “Bring the body of Natalie back with us, you may keep the others” he ordered them, retreating to the carriage, his heart full of grief, as another soldier came up to the first, “What about Ewan’s, he was one of ours” he reminded him, as the first looked down at them, “We will bring his back with us and his fiancé” he told him, as they slowly lifted “Natalie’s”, “Ewan’s” and “Nicole’s” cold, limp bodies towards the carriage while Daniel watched them go, whispering to his friend, “Run, tell them what has happened. That they’re free” he told her, “I’ll handle these bodies” he assured her, as his cousin ran out, “Did it work?” he asked as Emma ran off, as Daniel smirked, “Yes, they fell for it. According to the King, his princess and her friends are no more” he replied as his cousin smiled, “I’m proud of you Daniel. It worked” he told him, “Thanks, now let’s give this people a proper burial” he told him, and with that, Daniel, his cousin and another friend carried the bodies of “Hayden”, “Mischa” and “Ashley” to be buried.

Startled by the approach of incoming footsteps against the dusty paths to the stables, Hayden told everyone to be quiet, holding onto Natalie’s hand tightly, “Good Luck” he told her as she whispered, “You too” as Emma burst through the large, brown stable doors, almost out of breath. “What happened?” Nicole asked as Emma stopped to catch he breath, “It……worked……They brought it……You can leave now…They’re gone” she told them, regaining her breath as smiles erupted all around as Hayden lifted Natalie into his arms, spinning her around, “I love you” she whispered in his ear as he grinned, “I always knew you did” he replied, sharing a passionate kiss with her while the rest moved over to the horses, “This has been great, we cannot thank you enough” Ewan was telling Emma, who was smiling proudly, all her worries that the plan would fail, washed away. She moved over to the back doors, “This is the safest route-you ride right out of here, straight into the plains. No one will see you, but you’re “dead” won’t matter” she explained to them, as Hayden and Natalie made their way over to the group, “Where’s Daniel?” Natalie asked as Emma turned back around, “He’s with his cousin, doing the “burials” and rewarding the hunters. He says that he’s glad you let us help you and hopes you have nothing but new life together” she informed them as they all saddled up, Nicole holding tightly to Ewan, Ashley riding in front of Mischa while Hayden gently lifted Natalie onto their horse but turning to Emma giving her an open, friendly embrace, with a soft kiss on her cheek, “There’s no possible way we could thank you enough” he whispered into her ear as she blushed, “Anything for new friends” she giggled, watching him ascended their horse, “We hope to see again, some day” he added as Emma laughed, “If we recognise you” she hinted, before the horses galloped straight out of those huge, stable doors bolting right across the open landscape.

Once everyone arrived back at the castle, no one would speak, the King retreated to his chambers, where he ordered everyone to leave him grieve his loss, while Rachel fumed her anger once more, “So close” she whispered to herself, “So close” she repeated, they had no clues to who the attackers were, were they from the first attack on the carriage? No one knew. The soldiers took their duty of burying the bodies in the traditional manner with the leader deciding to travel to Natalie’s parents kingdom and report the sad news of her death. He would leave the King to his grief, although he did not trust Rachel alone with him like this, he was the King’s close friend and discovered her plot to overrule him and in his current state, she would do so he called five of his closest guards before leaving, “You three watch over the King, make sure no one gets into his quarters while you two will accompany me” he ordered them, and with their promise, he turned on his horse and left just as Rachel was strolling towards them.

“Where is he going?” she demanded, they sensed anger in her voice and knew she even more angry because she was still not Queen, as one slowly looked up to meet her anger gaze, “He is going to inform the Princess’s father of her death” he spoke up as she rolled her eyes, “Great, more grief here” she huffed as one questioned her response, “Your highness, I’m not sure what you mean” as she huffed once again, “Idiots! Because he has gone to her father, that means that they want to come and see her body and speak to the King about what happened, leading to the whole escape and she didn’t arrive her at first, then she was brought back then gone, then back and then escaped leading to her death” she explained, “They are allowed to be here” another told her, “But they would find out, she never married him in the first place!” she screamed, turning on her heel and storming back down the castle as the guards looked confused before heading up to the King’s quarters like they were ordered to.

The three light brown horses were faster than ever, perhaps all that rest in the stables allowed them to travel faster, they had made record time, the village was far away and out of eyesight. Stopping a few miles nearby by the water’s edge and shady, cool trees, Ewan brought it up, “So anyone have any ideas on where we can go next?” he asked as Natalie pointed out, “Well, I can’t go home. It will hard to explain everything that has happened and the whole “death” situation” as Hayden reminded them, “Well, we don’t have a home or parents, so we can head anywhere” as Nicole spoke up, “How about we all start new lives together? Somewhere far away from all this” she told them as Ewan smirked, “I like that idea” sweetly kissing her while Mischa attended to Ashley, taking her from Hayden’s arms as he took Natalie’s hand, “Well, I need to talk to Natalie so we’ll be right back” he told the group, disappearing into the trees as Ewan laughed, “I know what he’s going to say” he teased as the girls looked at him, “What! Tell us!” they begged but he remained silent, “No, I promised I wouldn’t say anything” he told the girls.

Pushing stray tree branches out of their way, they emerged into a small clearing, with the light yellow rays of the sun peeking through the gaps in the trees as Hayden spun back around to Natalie, her beautiful, shiny, brown curls fell down her face and her simple, light violet dress Emma had given her, pulling her in closer, he gently touched her face, “Natalie, since the day you accidentally fell into my world when I saved you from the attack, I fell in love with you but couldn’t say anything, because something told me you wouldn’t love me because you’re a Princess and I’m just a farmer” he started as she stared sweetly into his eyes, “That night, you told me you didn’t want to go back to the King made me feel like something could happen” he told her, “So..” he went on, and dropping to one knee, on top of the green leaves below, he looked back at him seeing her start to cry, “Princess Natalie, will you marry me?” he asked as she cried, breaking into a smile, “Yes, I will. For the first time, since I was little, I am truly in love. Yes!” she exclaimed as she pulled him back up, before he slipped the small ring he had onto her small finger, spinning her in the air before she whispered, “I have some news for you too” as he stared blankly at her, “I was going to tell you before at the village before we left but didn’t feel right, but I’m pregnant and you’re the father” she informed him as she saw him smile, spinning her around once more, “This is one of the happiest moments of my life” he replied, as they shared a romantic kiss together.

Chapter 38

The hotel was abuzz with excitement and nerves as everyone rushed around the room, grabbing equipment, items and clothing, everyone sliding out of the way to avoid collisions with each other, not much time for much conversation but Ewan had to voice his opinion to Hayden about the ring he had found in the bag, just the timing is what he needed. Jumping out of the way of a scurrying Emma, Natalie and Nicole, he found Hayden standing away from it all in the kitchen, “Now’s the perfect time” he muttered to himself and slipped over to and leaned across the bench top, “See you’ve found a place out of the runway huh?” he joked as Hayden gave a laugh, “Well, I didn’t want to be squash or run over by all the running” he replied seeing Ewan’s facial expression changed, “What’s wrong?” he asked as Ewan could feel a hard lump forming in his throat, “Don’t be mad with me, but I wanted to help out with the plan and I spied this small, black travel bag after you left the living room, so I looked through it and I found something unusual that had me wondering why it was there” he told him as Hayden looked at him, “Go on, what was it?” he asked as Ewan reached into his pockets of his black pants and placed a small, diamond sapphire ring in front of him, “I found that in the bag, look familiar?” he asked as Hayden reached for it, “It’s the ring I gave to Natalie when I proposed to her but she said Jude threw it away” he reminded him as Ewan nodded, “I know. What I’m thinking is that, he snuck back and pocketed the ring for later, slipping it into the bag so when you found it after opening the bag, it would be something to remind you of Natalie because I thinking that he’s left her here so that he can find her and take her away from you and that ring will be all that’s left for you” he explained as Hayden stared at the ring, too shocked at what he had just heard, “You really think that?” he finally asked as Ewan nodded, “Yes so do Daniel and Emma. They think that he has a secret plan. Why else would he tell you Natalie has to stay here!?!” he exclaimed as Hayden suggested, “So I wouldn’t run off with his suitcase?” as Ewan shrugged, “Perhaps, but also to take her away again” he pointed out, as Hayden’s eyes nearly fell from his sockets, “No! Good thing I let you guys talk me into taking her with me then” he replied as Ewan smirked, “That’s what we’re here for” he smiled.

Almost another half of the plan was complete, as Rachel stood just by the door, dressed in slim denim jeans and a red sparkle singlet top with a white long trench coat and slender, fancy shoes and a small, slim red shoulder bag, she smiled at Jude, who was reminding her of her part in the plan, “Now remember your plan is at 1.30, you will board it, go to the hotel and readily your self for your meeting with Hayden, bring him back over to your side” he told her as she smiled wickedly, “It worked the first time, I can do it again” she assured him, slipping her white oversized sunglasses over her dark intense brown eyes, “I’ll call you as soon as I land in Rome” she added as Jude smirked, “Don’t forget to do that and do not fail. This is our last chance” he warned her, giving her one quick friendly embrace and watched her slim figure disappeared down the long, lit, carpeted hallway.

Twirling streaks of blond locks of hair down the side of Natalie’s slim face, Nicole smiled at her handy work, “I never thought that blond hair would go really well against your features” she pointed out as Natalie nodded, “Yes, I can’t believe it either, and it goes really well with my natural colour” she added which was now pulled back in luscious curls behind her ears, “I’ve not done curls in my hair since the wedding or when I was filming Star Wars with Hayden” she pointed out as Emma looked over in admiration, “I’m surprise at that because you look so good in curls” she told her, as Nicole glanced over at the bed, now filled with dozens of clothes, make up, hair accessories and lots and lots of different sized bags, “Emma, could you pass me the white oversized sunglasses next your right hand?” she asked, taking them from her and moved back to Natalie, “Nat, could you put these on for a moment, please?” she asked her as Natalie smiled, “Of course” she assured her, taking the glasses and slipping them over her eyes, and Nicole saw the long, blond streaks falling into place, waving Emma over with her hand, “Do you think that there should be more streaks falling past her face or less?” she asked as Emma looked long and hard at Natalie, “I think more, just a few more” she replied, “Because we want to make her unrecognisable and the more blond streaks at the front, will make her unrecognisable” she added as Nicole smiled, “I like where you’re going at. Okay, I’ll add a few more strands around the glasses” she told her, as Emma turned back to the bed, preparing her outfit.

“All we’re saying is that, you’re doing the right thing, they’re in there right now, working on disguising Natalie so you can board the plan together” Ewan was telling Hayden as Daniel and Ewan prepared to leave for the airport, “I believe you, I’m not losing her again” he assured his friends as they proceeded to make their way down the hotel lobby towards the huge, glass front doors, “We’re just watching for you, I mean, they’re the ones who think Jude and Rachel are up to something else” Ewan added, pointing over to Daniel who gave a confused, startled look, “You agreed with us!” he argued back as Ewan shot back, “Yes but you made it hard to say that you were imagining too much” and Hayden had to endure the bicking back and forth until he spoke up, “Alright, I get it! I listened to you and I am risking everything to get her on the plane, from the look, to the passport details. You picked up something I couldn’t see that night, now can we focus on the next part of the plan” he informed them, stepping out onto the greyish pavement and towards a parked taxi, “I’ll meet you at the airport at 1.30 with Natalie” he added, “But remember when you see us, if you have to use her name, it will be Kimmy, okay?” he reminded them as Ewan nodded in agreement, “Right, don’t worry, we won’t screw this up for you” he smirked, stepping into the taxi followed by Daniel before it sped off into the busy traffic lanes and Hayden turned back into the hotel, disappearing through the swarm of bustling crowd.

Stepping out of the taxi, Jude observed the scene before him, bustling crowds all around him, in and out of the airport, with no sign of Hayden or his friends yet, he wondered if Natalie would show up or because she couldn’t accompy him, she would remain at the hotel so she wouldn’t have to meet with him once again, reaching for his mobile, he called up one of his friends, “Did she catch the plane yet?” he snapped into the phone, “Jude, it’s 11.30, her plane’s not due for another 2 hours” came the reply, “Well, is she here?” he asked, “Yes, right in front of me” came the reply, before he heard, “Jude, what are you doing here so early, you gave him a 3.30 flight” she pointed out as he snapped, “I want to be here to see who turns up with him and if they turn up early” as he heard her laugh, “Oh my god, you are so predictable. [i]You think, that she’s going to show up, with him, only to leave the airport without him and knowing you’re still here”[/i] she informed him as Jude gave a shrug, “She’ll have her friends with her” he suggested as Rachel gave another laugh, “Whatever, I’m going to go towards the airport lounge near my flight” she told him, before handing the phone back to the friend, “No sign of anyone yet but doesn’t mean that they won’t show” he told him as Jude reminded him, “Just keep your eyes open” hanging up, he moved through the double glass doors and into the airport terminal.

Hayden had just turned the corner back to his hotel room, and turned the small, golden door knob when he felt himself being pulled in by his loose, white shirt into the room, “What’s going on?” he asked as he heard more giggles before a voice replied, “We want to show you our finish work” Mischa told him, pulling him right next to her onto the lounge, which had been turned right around to face the bedrooms, “We’re ready!” she yelled out as the white door opened slightly and out slipped Nicole, with a huge smile across her face, “Hayden, you ready to meet your new “cousin”?” she asked as Hayden gave a slight smile, “I guess I am” he replied as she opened the door more and out stepped Emma, with another girl, who he could not recognise, she had long, blond streaks falling past her face with the rest of her hair in luscious curls which were shining with red and blond colour, a long, navy blue trench coat was over a violet coloured top with deep coloured hipster skinny jeans and tall, black boots slipped over her feet, “Natalie?” he gasped, “Is that you?” he asked as she let out a sweet smile, removing her glasses, “Miss me?” she asked as he slowly rose to his feet, slipping his hands around her slim waist, “I sure did” he smirked, leaning in for a kiss against her sweet lips as Emma nudged Nicole, “I can’t believe it actually worked, I mean, if even Hayden couldn’t recognise her then what chance will Jude or Rachel will” she told her as Nicole agreed, “You did real good” she replied, before moving over to Hayden and Natalie, “Shall we get ready to head out, we decided we’d get some lunch first because meeting Ewan and Daniel at the airport” she informed Hayden, who clasped Natalie’s hand tightly, “Sure, let me just get the items I need and freshen up and we’ll grab something to eat” he told them, moving back into the bedroom, followed by Natalie as Nicole, Emma and Mischa all smiled and high fived each other, cheering in their success, now came the hard part, getting them on the plane undetected, but if Hayden couldn’t even recognise her, they should have no problem.

“Okay, Daniel, you were there last night, you’ll be the eyes for me and will be able to tell me if they are here” Ewan pointed out as the taxi came to full stop in the taxi bay, right outside the international airport terminal as Daniel understood, “Of course, I understand. I will be on lookout and alert you if I see anyone familiar” he replied as Ewan smirked, “You got it, and remember if we see Jude or Rachel, alert the other straight away” he pointed out, as they proceeded into the terminal, swarming with crowds arriving and departing throughout the airport, it was so crowded that Ewan nor Daniel could not spot neither Jude or Rachel or their friends, “Maybe, they’re not going to show up” Daniel suggested as Ewan disagreed, “No, they’re coming, I doubt that Jude would not let Hayden just slip onto the plane without one last conversation and the chance to see Natalie one more time” he winked, as Daniel quickly understood, “I think we should split once we can get past the detectors” he informed him, “Yes, good idea, we’ll check all the flights to Rome then get boarding passes like we’re going to Rome also” he explained as they headed over in the direction of the check in counter.

Hayden could not stop staring at an unrecognisable Natalie, as she ate her meal chatting away with Emma and Nicole, he had never seen her with blond streaks before and she looked so different and stunning, maybe Emma was right, maybe this disguise would fool everyone, it sure fooled him, as he wrapped an arm around her small, slender waist, sensing her slightly turn her head towards him, smiling, he could immediately tell that she was excited about this plan, he remembered her face when Jude told them she couldn’t come, she was crushed, looking at her now, he saw pure happiness and excitement. He glanced down at his watch, time was moving by fast, “Hey, we would get a move on, we should be at the airport shortly” he told them as Nicole, Emma and Natalie exchanged looks with each other, “That’s a good idea” Natalie replied, leaning over to give Hayden a quick, passionate kiss before they exited the restaurant after paying for their delicious lunches.

“Ewan! I’ve spotted two of them from the other night!” Daniel yelled into his phone, he was standing just outside the airport lounge in the international terminal, after pretending they were buying tickets just to get past, “What! Where are you? Are you sure?” Daniel heard Ewan asked, as he rolled his eyes in annoyance, “Yes, I’m sure, I recognised one who stopped us at the lift that night” he replied, “They’re right outside the airport lounge opposite the eating area” he added, “Okay I’m not too far, wait right where you are. I’m coming towards you, don’t let them see you” he heard Ewan order him as Daniel laughed, “Like I’m going to do that” he replied, hanging up, he moved further into the eating area, over to a empty, unoccupied table with a good, but safe distance from them. Just as he was sliding into his seat, a hand grabbed his shoulder, “I thought I said remain where you were standing” came the voice and Daniel quickly laughed, “Just thought I grab something to eat” he replied as the voice laughed, “Good idea, You get the food and I’ll watch them. Now where are they?” he asked as Daniel quickly indicated where they were before moving off towards the food counter after taking Ewan’s order along with his own as Ewan secretly kept his eyes on the two figures, sitting in the airport lounge opposite from where they sat.

“Well, now I’m off to board the plane then” Rachel told Jude, who was staring directly out into the crowd, Rachel noticed this and snapped, “She’s not coming! What good is it coming if she can’t board the plane!?!” she asked as Jude sighed, “I know, I just want to see her again, I miss her. I love her” he confessed as Rachel gently stroked his arm, “I know you do because I love him and hopefully this plan will change everything back to the way it was” she assured him as another announcement appeared over the speakers, “That’s me, I have to go” she told him as he gave her one quick hug, “Good luck, hope you can turn him back” he told her, watching her turn back and give one last mischievous smile, “Don’t worry, I will” she whispered, before she disappeared down the airport tunnel towards the plane.

Outside the airport terminal, it was packed, much more packed than this morning as Nicole pulled up into the carpark, pulling her sunglasses down over her eyes and adjusting her coat, she linked her arm through Hayden’s, she wasn’t sure at first, if it was too much but he assured her that he had seen his sisters and cousins do it all the time, in a friendly way as they approached the double glass doors where Daniel had agreed to meet them, “Nice to see you show up, guys” he told them, moving his eyes over to Natalie, “Who’s your new friend?” he innocently asked, as Hayden laughed, “Daniel, sorry, forgot, this is my close an favourite cousin, Kimmy, she’s been here travelling and her next stop is Rome” he informed him as Daniel understood, “Ah, nice to meet you. How was your stay in Sydney?” he asked, as Natalie smiled, “Loved it, it’s a beautiful city and Hayden’s just the best cousin” she replied as Hayden felt him becoming embarrassed, “Well, shall we check in so we won’t be late” he spoke up as they proceeded to make their way to the departure check in as Daniel’s phone rang again, “Daniel! Daniel! Are they here yet?” he heard Ewan asked as Daniel replied, “Yes, they’re at the departure area now. What’s wrong?” he asked, hearing the hastiness in his voice, “Okay, tell them to come through the detectors on the far side. Not the main ones we went through” he instructed him, “Why?” he asked, confused, “Cause Jude is standing just outside through detectors with those friends you saw earlier” he told him as Daniel quickly understood, “Understood, okay. We’ll meet you at the eating area” he told him, hanging up, he pulled Emma aside, “Emma, we’re going to the left after this” he told her, “Why?” she asked, just as confused as he first was, “Because Ewan just told me, Jude is right outside the main detectors” he replied as Emma gasped, “I understand now” she sighed, taking her “ticket” from Nicole, “Daniel says this way the line is more shorter” she spoke up, her eyes piercing straight at them, about to question this, Hayden stopped, he knew what she meant, Jude was here and they were going around to avoid him as best they could.

Not letting his gaze lose Jude or his friends, Ewan remained just outside the eating area, in clear view of all detectors, not seeing the small group stroll over to him, until one spoke, “What’s you staring at?” one asked as Ewan jumped, “Geez man, do you want to give a heart attack?” he jokingly asked, looking over at Natalie, “Who’s your friend?” he asked as Nicole, Mischa and Emma gave low giggles nearby, “This is my cousin Kimmy. She’s going to Rome next and will be accompy me” Hayden replied as Ewan smirked, “Have we met?” he asked, hearing a soft giggle, “Ewan, it’s me” Natalie whispered, briefly lifting her glasses above her eyes, giving a slight wink as Ewan looked shocked, “Wow, did not recognise you. You look good” he told her as she blushed, “Thankyou. Even Hayden and Daniel couldn’t recognise me” she informed him as Hayden laughed, “I was faking it” he told her as Nicole laughed, “Yeah right. Now where can we wait?” she asked as Ewan waved a hand, “Come on, I’ll show you to where the gate is” he told them, slipping into the crowds and away from Jude and his waiting friends, perhaps they could board the plane without a confrontation between each other, they all thought, as they reached the airport lounge, “Here we are, now more news, although we have seen Jude, we have been unable to spot Rachel, right Daniel?” he asked as Daniel nodded in agreement, “Could not find her anywhere” he added as Hayden just simply shook his head, “Doesn’t mean she won’t show up” he informed him, taking a seat by the huge, glass windows next to Natalie, who was busily flipping through a magazine that Emma had brought along with her, their flight was not for another 2 ½ hours, how long would they be able to avoid Jude for the time and where was Rachel, it was not like her to not be with Jude, she was there at the restaurant, so where was she now? He had a bad feeling about this but he simply shrugged any bad feelings away and just slipped an arm around Natalie, softly kissing her neck as she giggled, returning his kisses against his soft lips.

Returning back to the water’s edge, Hayden and Natalie had their arms around each other and huge, excited smiles on their faces, Ewan looked up and gave a slight laugh, he knew why they were smiling as Nicole followed his gaze, “What’s going on?” she asked just as Mischa and Ashley were coming back from the water, “Why are you smiling so much?” Mischa asked, “Did you kill someone you hate?” she joked, hands on her hips, as Ashley looked from Mischa to Hayden and Natalie, too confused to understand what was going on as Natalie was the first to reply, “Well, we have a announcement to make” she started, holding out her hand to reveal a small silvery gold ring on her finger, “We’re engaged!” she screamed in excitement as Nicole and Mischa followed her, screaming with excitement, rushing over to celebrate as Ewan rolled his eyes towards Hayden, “Women” he muttered as Hayden laughed, “Nest thing you’ll know Nicole will suggest we have a double wedding together” he added as Ashley ran over to Hayden, “I knew you loved her” she cried as he lifted her into his arms, looking over at Natalie, “Do you want to tell them or should I?” he asked over all the excitement as everyone all focused their gaze on Hayden, “What? Tell us?” they asked, as Natalie spoke, “I’m also pregnant with Hayden’s child!” she squealed with excitement as Mischa and Nicole nearly fell back, with the news, “Oh my goodness! I’m going to be an aunt!” she told her, as Ashley squealed in excitement, as Ewan and Hayden rolled their eyes, “Now we know what not to speak about around them” Ewan joked as Hayden nodded, “Agree, I think I’m going to have a pounding head after this” he added, watching the girls chatting away, their excitement lighting their faces.

Dreading what he was about to say, he strolled from his horse into the castle, his presence had already been made and from the strong, firm looks he saw on the faces on the King and Queen, he knew they knew it was not happy news, they had received no news since Natalie had left as Jude did not want them to know what had been happening but he knew they needed to know the tragedy that had just happened. As he approached the throne, the King spoke, “What brings you here, more news of my daughter?” he asked as the young knight felt a cold, hard lump form in his throat, “Your highness, I bring news but it’s not happy, joyous news” he replied as the Queen gasped, “Oh please, don’t tell me the worse” she cried as the knight looked down, “I’m afraid so. The Princess is dead, killed by unknown attackers in a village not too far away from here” he spoke as she broke down, “The King?” her father asked, “He is alive. I shall explain the true story” he informed him, “The day, the Princess was escorted to the castle, she never made it. They were attacked and from what one of our surviving told us, she was rescued by a local farm boy, we found her at his home and brought her to the castle, however the farm boy and one of our own escaped with her, then they were re-captured then escaped, finally tracking them to a village where they were killed” he informed them, “You may journey to the castle to view her body if you wish” he added as the Queen continued to sob and her father moved over to a nearby window, his hands firmly clasped behind his back, “I will journey to the castle, to bring her body back here and to talk with King Jude” he finally spoke, “Inform your King, I shall be along in a few days” he ordered and with that, the knight left and the King continued to stare out the window, his little girl lost, gone forever, in what was suppose to be a peace treaty between the two kingdoms, was now a failure and his little girl lost……forever.

Natalie was in fact, not dead but alive and well, now engaged to Hayden and pregnant with his child, she was reflecting on everything that happened and despite herself finding true love, she was still sadden by the thought of losing her parents, she could never return to them it would be too hard to explain what had happened and they would send her back into Jude’s arms which she did not want. She sat on the edge of the water bank, watching the slow moving waves flow down the river, a voice startled her, “Something’s troubling you, I know it” came the voice as Natalie slowly raised her head, pushing her long brown hair behind her ears, and saw the smiling face of Hayden looking down at her, “I just was thinking about my parents, they must be so crushed” she whispered, before she burst into tears as he pulled her up into his arms, “I know, I wish we could go to them but what if they separate us” he reminded her as she continued to cry in his shirt, “I know, but I care for them and now they will think I’m dead” she cried as he placed his head on top of her’s, “I know, but perhaps soon, we can return and inform them once everything dies down” he assured her looking into her deep brown eyes, “You mean it?” she asked as he smiled lovingly, “Every word” he assured her.

Watching from a short distance away, Ewan, Nicole, Mischa and Ashley watched the silent, tender moment Hayden and Natalie shared, “Well, we risked our lives but I think it was worth it” Ewan spoke up as Mischa looked down at Ashley, who had fallen asleep in her lap, “I know someone who’s pleased with her brother” she laughed indicating her sleeping sister, as Ewan laughed, “Influenced by a child, that’s got to say something” he replied as Nicole playfully slapped his arm, “Ewan! That’s not nice. She’s only a child, she just wanted her brother to be happy” she snapped back as Ewan silenced her with a kiss, “I know, I was lighting up the mood, relax sweetie” he smirked as she only rolled her eyes, moving herself closer, snuggling under his arm, “We should all get some rest, because tomorrow we’re moving again” she informed them as Ewan held her close and turned his attention back to the two silent figure of Hayden and Natalie, who were now sitting underneath the nearby tree, his arms securely around her and her head positioned on his lap as he twisted his fingers through her long, curls in her hair.

Rachel was strolling the quiet, halls of the giant castle, no one had spoken in hours since the deaths and it was driving Rachel crazy, she was so close to finally becoming Queen but just like that, it was all taken away from her and he still lived, locked up in his quarters overcome with grip, she needed another plan, if only she could convince him to marry her somehow then she would mysteriously kill him while he slept and she would ascended the throne as Queen. In his current state, it could work, she could say Natalie would want him to move on and marry another woman, like she found another young man. Secretly smiling to herself, she turned the corner to see the young knight from before arrive back with his soldiers, “Well, how did it go?” she asked, “They will coming here to speak with his highness and bring her body back to their kingdom” he informed her, “I knew it, I knew they would want to come out here, like his highness need more guilt to explain how he kept losing her” she snapped back, “Well, we shall make arrangements for them, please see to it that Jude will be notified of these new developments” she told them, before she proceeded out the huge castle doors, she needed some time to herself, to secretly discuss ideas on how she could get rid of the Jude and finally become Queen.

As the early sun started to rise the following morning, Hayden, Natalie, Ashley, Mischa, Ewan and Nicole were preparing to head off into the nearest village, everyone was taking precautions with Natalie, seeing how she was now pregnant and anything could go wrong and she could lose the baby. “Maybe if this village has a small church, we could move up the weddings” Nicole suggested as Ewan lifted her up onto their horse, turning to Hayden, “What did I tell you, it’s a woman thing” he muttered to him as Hayden softly laughed, gently lifting Natalie up onto their horse but helping his sister up and then lifting Ashley up in front of her before turning back to his horse, he joked, “You should have seen it coming, girls are like that, trust me, I lived with two of them and Mischa was always talking about these things” he laughed as Mischa glared down at him, “Hey, watch it our I’ll make you wear something you hate” she warned him as he gave a laugh, “You wouldn’t” he laughed, jumping onto his horse, feeling Natalie’s arm wrap themselves around his waist before they were off once again, through the wildness and out into the open, they were getting further and further away from their troubles and could soon start new lives together.

[It’s all closing in, huh? What will happen now? How will they break the news to her parents and will Hayden keep his promise and somehow return to her parents, plus will they fly out of Sydney undetected and will Rachel break them apart forever! Stay tuned!

Chapter 39

Crowds were coming and going all throughout the airport, but the group never kept their eyes from darting in and around the moving crowds, always cautious that Jude would catch them unaware, although he only had another hour before the flight took off, so Hayden, Natalie and their friends only hoped they could evade him long enough to get onto the plane, but nothing ever goes the way they want, does it?

Natalie slowly and sweetly leaned over and whispered in Hayden’s eyes, “Honey, I am going with the Nicole and Mischa to freshen up before the long flight, alright. I won’t be long” she assured him, with a sweet kiss on his cheek as he smirked, “Okay, I’ll still be here” he replied with a return kiss, watching her dart off into the crowds before he turned back to Ewan, discussing what they planned on doing after all this, when they heard a creepy familiar voice they never wanted to hear, at least not now, “Aren’t we here earlier than expected?” they asked as Hayden, Ewan, Daniel and Emma all froze before they all moved their eyes over to where the voice had come from, all showed a look of pure loath, as Ewan pointed out, “Well, I’m not sure if you’ve been at an airport, but you at least need to be here an hour early to get checked in and check off luggage” he smirked, seeing Jude starting to get angry, “Thanks for the pointer, so I take it Natalie, didn’t show or did she?” he teased as Hayden started to move towards him before Ewan and Daniel moved in front of him, they looked up at him, Don’t tell him about your “cousin” yet he saw their eyes try to tell him as Hayden understood, “No, she isn’t because she doesn’t want to see you after you denied her access onto the plane with me” he shot back as Jude just sighed, “But if she really did love you, she would have still come to farewell you” he shot back, with a slight smirk across his face, “I know that when I was with her, she was crazy about me and always came with me wherever I went” he added as Hayden started to clench his fist tightly, “Well, then how come you let he slip from your grip, then?” he asked, as Jude started edging towards him, “Because of you, thief” he spat as Hayden blinked innocently, “Really? I was under the impression that she left because she fell out of love with you” Hayden snapped back as Daniel, Emma and Ewan watched their endless conversations back and forth between each other, Hayden’s fist clenching more, as Daniel and Ewan continued to hold him back, as Emma whispered to Daniel, “You think he would use common sense and understand why she’s not “here” she giggled as Daniel agreed, To be fair, I don’t think he has any” he laughed before both looked at each other and burst into laughter.

Manoeuvring their own way back through the crowds towards their airport lounge, Natalie suddenly stopped, though she was still wearing her oversized sunglasses even though she was inside, she could still see, “What is it?” Mischa suddenly asked, seeing her paused in her spot, not too far from their friends, “Its Jude, he’s over there, talking to Hayden” she whispered under her breath as Mischa adverted her gaze over to where they stood converging at one another as Nicole spoke up, “So, we can go over there, Hayden’s probably told him you’re not here but at the hotel and if he asked who you are, you’re his cousin Kimmy” she reminded her as Natalie bit the top back of her lip, still nervous about seeing him again before nodding, “Okay, let’s go over there” she told her as Nicole smiled cheerfully, “That’s a girl, let’s show him” she replied, moving back through the crowd and over to the small group, which was close to starting a violent outburst.

“All I’m saying is that, if she really did love you which she claims she does, she would have come to say goodbye to you” Jude proudly informed him as Hayden only laughed, “And have to meet you again, having your uncomfortable creepy gazes looking her over” he shot back as Jude’s eyes watched another three girls join the group, slowly lifting a finger in disgust, he spat, “Who’s the girl in the middle? Cheating on Natalie already, are we?” he asked as Hayden looked in confusion until he saw Natalie right next to him, “Of course not, this is my cousin Kimmy, who I found out was travelling through here this morning and is coming on my same flight to Rome” Hayden cheekily smirked back as Jude looked her over, “Cousin? She’s too pretty to be your cousin, let alone related to you” he laughed as Hayden clenched his fist more, “Forget it, she has better taste in men than you” he shot back as announcement quickly came over to speakers as Jude smiled, “Well, then I guess it’s time. Remember, don’t even think about running off with my suitcase” he warned him as Hayden gave a slight smirk, “Oh, don’t worry, I wouldn’t dream of it” he replied with a slight wink to Ewan, and leading Natalie over the checkpoint as Jude yelled out, “Kimmy! Just letting you know, your cousin is bad news!” he yelled as Kimmy turned back, an intense gaze in her eyes and a smile on her face, “No, from what he’s told me today, you’re the one who’s bad news” she informed him, seeing him throw a startled look back at them as Hayden laughed, whispering sweetly in her ear, “Bet he wasn’t expecting that” before he escorted her down the long, windy airport tunnel towards the plane, back to the place where it all started, to where their love reopened and changed their lives forever.

Turning over towards the giant, glass windows nearby, Jude watched them intently, “Thought he would have taken one of you with him” he spoke out as Ewan cheekily replied, “He was but then he ran into his cousin and she was travelling and desperate to go to Rome but couldn’t, so he offered his spare ticket, we agreed and decided to stay here with Natalie” as they all saw Jude laugh, “You actually believed that she’s his cousin?” he asked as Nicole answered, “Yes, both their fathers are brothers so they’re cousins” as Jude laughed, before strolling off, “Yeah, like I’m believing that” he called back over his shoulder, as the group all froze, their eyes meeting each other’s, “Did he se through their plan? Or was he thinking that they had picked up a new girl and using her? Let him think what he wanted to think, Hayden and Natalie had gotten on the plane, it had worked and as the large, red and white plane travelled its way down the runaway, they exchanged smiles with each other, they had succeeded for now, but none of them could have prepare them for the agenda that Jude and Rachel had coming up as they proceeded to exit out of the airport.

As Nicole, Ewan, Mischa, Daniel and Emma exited the airport and entered Nicole’s black, comfortable car, they were unaware that they were being watched and it was no other than Jude and his friends, they were keen to follow them back so he could see his beautiful Natalie again, but he didn’t know that he was about to be tricked again and that he had seen Natalie at the airport except he could not even recognised her, watching their car pulled out of the large, half full carpark, he slightly turned to his friend, “Okay, do we have someone following them home?” he asked as the friend assured him, “Yes, they are just pulling out now and are keeping a safe distance but can keep them in sight, and not lose them” as Jude smiled, “Goodbye Hayden, you’ll go back to Rachel and when Natalie finds out about her in Rome, she’ll come crawling back to me” he muttered under his breath, watching the flow of cars speeding by as he climbed into his own car and sped down the street, he could already picture Natalie’s beautiful figure and angelic face at that very moment-from her sweet, energetic laugh to her deep, innocent intense brown eyes staring into his as their lips would meet each other’s once more.

High up in the bright blue sky with the fluffy white clouds sailing past, Natalie softly broke away from his lips, with a slight smile, her oversized glasses had been removed by Hayden, once they boarded the plane, away from Jude’s creepy gaze, “I thought that this plan would never work” she pointed out as Hayden smirked, twirling a finger in her stands of hair, “I had a feeling it would, even if I had to carry you over my shoulder” he informed her as she blushed, “Oh Hayden, I love you” she softly replied, leaning her head on hi shoulder, her long, brown blond locks falling behind her as he smiled, “You know, I kind of like you with blond streaks in your hair” he told her, twirling some more curls round his finger as she blushed, “Really? Because I thought you wouldn’t like them” she pointed out as he raised her chin up with one finger, so she was looking into his bright, baby blue eyes, “Well, you thought wrong” he smirked mischievously, reaching for his tall, glass of white wine as Natalie picked up hers, clinking their glasses together, they shared a simple, elegant drink together with a innocent, passionate kiss together as the plane soared through the crowds.

Stopping not too far from where Nicole had drove her black car to, they carefully watched as Nicole, Ewan, Mischa, Daniel and Emma all exited the car and proceeded through the revolving glass doors of the large greyish building, before two men in the group exited their car and proceeded slowly after them while the first two informed Jude of new developments, “What is it?” they heard when they dialled his number, “We have tracked them to a large greyish coloured hotel, where they have just entered and we’ve just sent in two others, to find out their room details” the first replied, “Okay, well done. Where are you?” he asked them as the first answered, “We’re directly in the street, not too far from Darling Harbour” as an annoyed reply came back, “How does that help me!” as the second took the phone from his friend, “Look, Jude, just drive down to Darling harbour, then proceed into the street next to one you are in. Marty will know which one, make sure he comes with you” he told him, “Okay, we’ll be there, be waiting outside the hotel you saw them go into” he ordered, hanging up as the two men exited from car and continued across the street.

“Oh boy, does it feel more relaxed now, that they got onto the plane with no delays” Ewan announced once they entered the hotel room, collapsing onto the wide, long lounge in the living room, “I can’t believe that even Jude was fooled by Natalie’s disguise, just like you guys were” Nicole giggled as Ewan just waved a hand in the air, “I was faking it, like Hayden was, I knew it was her” he replied as Mischa chucked a small round cushion at him, “Yeah, right, you wish” she laughed as Daniel wrapped his arms around Emma’s small waist, “I can’t believe it’s nearly all over, just think when they get back to Sydney to give Jude his stupid suitcase, then we’ll go out separate ways” he sighed as Ewan looked over at him, “Hey! We might go our separate ways but that doesn’t mean that we’ll forget each other, we’ll all get together when we can and I’m sure Hayden and Natalie will have kids some day and we’ll see each other all the time” he smirked as the others glared at him, before he ducked down, “Or when we can” he corrected himself, with a nervous laugh as Emma echoed Daniel’s comment, “I know, Daniel’s right, I can’t believe that we’ll all be saying goodbye shortly” she spoke up as Mischa added, “I know, it’s like we’re all family and hate to say goodbye” as Ewan spoke up once more, “I’m not sad about saying goodbye, I won’t miss you” he laughed as Mischa threw him a cold glare before heaving another cushion directly at his chest as Nicole laughed, playfully hitting his leg, “Oh Ewan, you and your little jokes” she piped up before moving towards the bedroom, “I’m going to start packing all of Natalie and Hayden’s stuff into their suitcase, chances are when they come back, they’ll be off again, as will I” she sighed as Ewan sniffed, “Oh, I’ll miss you” he smiled as she laughed, “Ewan, like you said, we’ll see each other” she echoed his reply earlier while Daniel slumped down into a nearby armchair, pulling Emma down onto his lap, sharing a romantic kiss together before Ewan yelled out, “As I told Hayden and Natalie a while ago, I don’t want to see that!” he laughed before he continued into the cleaned, white bathroom, all unaware of who was downstairs at this moment.

“Look, unless you tell me, who are you. I can’t reveal client information while they are at this hotel” the manger angrily told them once more, seeing the two men before him, remain firm and quiet before starting again, “Look, we need to know their room number. They’re our friends” the first snapped back, “And I told you until you tell who you are, no details revealed” the manager shot back as the second piped up, “Alright, the truth is, we’re their drivers they hired to take them around the city because they’re new here and wanted to see more of the glorious city” he lied as the manger smirked, “Which one?” he asked, seeing them freeze to their spot before the second one yelled out, “The young girl, she has sandy blond hair and was wearing blue denim jeans with a long baby blue trench coat over her top!” pointing excitedly at the manager who only raised an eyebrow, “And her name?” they asked as they froze again, saved by another voice, “Have you found out their room details yet?” they snapped, moving over to the counter, looking down, they slowly shook their heads, as Jude rolled his eyes, “Idiots! I’ll show you how it’s done” he snapped, pushing them aside, “Sir, I’m not sure of who the name is under but my fiancé is with them, her name is Natalie Portman” he told him as the manger quickly understood, “Uh, I saw her with Miss Watson. I’ll just get her room number for you, sir” he informed him as Jude smirked back at them, “Here you are sir, level four, room 413” he replied watching Jude and the other men moved away, “And that’s how it’s done” Jude proudly boasted, as they carried on into the lift.

Moving his eyes away from the blank movie screen, Hayden looked down to see Natalie, silently asleep against his shoulder, her jacket placed over her knees while her left hand was placed around his waist, with a small smile, he gave her a small, little kiss on her cheek before he saw her starting to shiver, so he slipped his jacket off of his shoulders, placing it over her small shoulders, as she snuggled closer to him, “Thankyou” she whispered as he leaned in and gave her another kiss, “I love you” he whispered back as she giggled, “I know” as he leaned back, and drifted into sleep.
