Luke wanted to leave his father rest while in the coma for about a week’s time and then continue from there.
After five days-
Admiral Piett arrived on Commenor and immediately went to find Luke’s number in a central computer terminal locator. “Yes, Luke, this is Admiral Piett, I served under your father during the fight between the two sides.” I got your number from the central computer locator.” “Hi Piett”, said Luke. (The letter said for Piett to contact Luke since that was the only way to get word. No implications about friendships between Luke and Piett) “I very much would like to talk with you,” said the Admiral. Luke said, “Sure, where are you now?” Admiral got information from Luke to come to the council room at the cities chamber section. There they will meet.
Admiral Piett and Luke met in the council meeting room later that day. Meetings happen at this facility because it has computers where someone can find information about someone before commencing with business. Both went through security channels to signify who they really are, this is a very deep precaution so as not to cause trouble! Every life aspect is sought out before continuing. After they both go through this process, they continue with business.
“Hi Admiral Piett”, said Luke. “Just call me Firmus”, said Piett. “I got this letter from someone I don’t know. It says that I was used as a link to Vader. It also said that you are his son. I am somewhat shocked by this. But, let me go on, I do have a suspicion that it was Obi-Wan Kenobi who sent it. I had heard from a General serving the dark side that Obi-Wan and Vader had connections in the past. He said that Vader is alive. I am guessing it is true since I have heard of the force is very strong amongst you two. It had to be true. I stood by your “father” , (Piett finally realizing) for many years, and even though I was shaken and sometimes scared while working with him, I knew I never wanted to let him down. Besides, I feel-or better yet, realize that he is my friend now”. Luke takes the letter from Piett and reads it. (He notices the writing and thinks-it is Ben) “Wow”, shouted Luke, Ben sent this?” “He sent it about five days ago,” said Piett. “I am not sure how, but he did.” After Luke has read the letter he is reminded of his adventures with his buddy Ben. Both men then walk to the central control room where some couches are and talk for a few hours. Luke tells Piett everything about his father. Piett never understood why Vader had to wear that suit, just that he could not survive without it. Luke told Piett everything about the suit that he knew. Luke also mentions that right now he wants to find a way to build a suit for his Dad that is better and more human looking. After their meeting, Piett gave Luke some information then went to stay in a guest visitor’s palace for Admirals while he waits for Luke to call.
The next day-
Luke called Leia about their father. She will be coming to help out after she is done with senate meetings. Vader has been out of the coma and now is very well rested and ready to continue healing. Luke went to visit his father for the first time after the coma. (Scene: Vader has a whole bunch of wires and devices hooked up to him plus tiny tubes going into his mouth, and therefore finds it difficult to talk. Luke is standing on the left side of the table where Vader is on not covered by blankets but wraps around his torso). “Son, I never meant what I did to you in the past. I didn’t know my son then nor did I know how to handle the situation. It was new to me. Have you spoken to your sister?” Luke answered, “Yes, I have and she will be coming here after the senate talks.” “Now father, I want to work out a new suit with you. Do you want to do that now or wait?” Vader said to wait, he wants to heal more. Luke talked with his Dad then headed for the door-just then Vader motioned to Luke, “oh, and son, (he pauses) my name is Anakin.” (Vader realizes his other identity which was almost void during the wars. He is now free to take on the life of a person he once knew).
