Yes, she did sound kind of robotic! This is a new question I haven't seen posted before, but I have wondered about it.What was up with that?

I believe that was her "Queen" voice, used to disguise her real voice1. If you recall, one of her handmaidens, posing as the Queen, used a very similar voice.

This question isn't stupid at all! A very interesting one, a true one! Now that you mention it, her voice was weird, as Annie says, robotic.
I think DoubleAgent is right, it might have been her "Queen" voice, a disguise perhaps. And yes your also right there, one of her haidmaidens also spoke with a similar voice. Perhaps also she used the voice for a sense of authority.

You know, I wondered about that too...I wondered how Natalie and Keira (yes, Knightley) could have theie voices so alike when Keira is British and Natalie, i think is from Israel...idk..that must have took some practice....yeah, maybe it was her 'Queen voice'...She didn't change it much in AotC though...from an authorative voice to her regular one..it pretty much stayed the same, but i guess it had too ;D, because she had to control Anakin and her own feelings as well through that movie (although, if she was actually trying, why would she wear those 'somewhat provacative' outfits...but we all know how that turned out...hehehehehe

I agree with the Queen voice theory. it seems the most logical.

Yes, me too. It IS the most logical, but I wondered about it too.
