When we saw Vader as only the old and fat guy nobody really cared about his life before that and he did fine to just say goodbye and go. It's not like that for Anakin we know from the newer movies. We want more for him.

Shaw is very much out of place now. We need Hayden in all scenes, even if they have to make 2 versions to satisfy the contract and royalties to Shaw's family.

The ending of ROTJ should have been like that! With Anakin and Padme side by side looking upon their children. I don't see why not. Probably because Padme was not a Jedi..and couldn't become a force ghost. Seems to unfair! I thought that once a being died that, no matter if they were Jedi, that they passed on into the force...because didn't Qui-gon say in TPM that they all have the "midi-chlorians" inside them...hmm...idk...I still think they should allow her too..i mean..after all she might have the force just not enough midi-chlorians to use it like Jedi do...

The author of this ghostly picture is Aeryn, and she's actually running the following Anakin & Padmé devoted site : moonsofiego.thepensieve.netyou may find still this picture in the wallpapers gallery of The Pair section of the site . Thanks for her ;D! I agree, for I've read some hateful posts towards Hayden here and there , very often wide of the mark , especially when I posted once on the message boards about Hayden's performance, justly ! Kisses, Sam.

Death threats? Holy Force... wow, I didn't know a thing about that! That's appalling. Maybe my opinion doesn't count, cuz I'd never say anything real bad about Hayden's perfromances... but I think it's great that they put him in as "the ghost" at the end. And I took that picture of him and Padme and made it into my desktop for awhile! I have visited that sitte before, and yes, it's a wonderful pic!

I like Hayden as the ghost, I just wish he would adjust the outfit.

what do you mean adjust the outfit? Since Anakin didn't wear those robes? Mostly black and brown?

There actually might be a technical reason they couldn't change the clothes. Since Shaw had on a robe in the original, splicing Hayden in might not have worked right (i.e. he might have looked cut-and-pasted in) if he'd had his original clothes. Yoda could have been re-inserted to fill, but some of the "seam" wouldn't have been so easy. It may need more advances in technology to make that work.
Having Hayden ever spliced into the unmasking scene will remain a possibility so long as Hayden is alive; the character is so damaged that he could be any age and still play it.

Crystalcat, that's so sweet what you've just said here, and so true! All I wish for you is to turn out to be heard and that it'll be done one day, now. Kisses, Sam.

Anakins colors of choice were the darker ones, as long as he is dressed that way it won't work for me.
I do believe the technology exists now to correct it. They practically filmed the entire ROTS with blue/green screens.

Joker!
Anakin's colors of choice darked gradually, mainly after he's first given away to anger for the murder of his mother by the Tuskens. Before that, his tones of color were similar to the ones worn by the other members of the Jedi Order.
Btw, have you watched the moviefone video where GL clearly explains that when Anakin made it back to the Good Side, he came back to the point where he left off before he turned to the Dark Side, stating that's the Spirit of Anakin that survived, not the Vader's persona (no longer available nowadays, unfortunately...)?
That's why I can't see him into the Other Side still wearing those dark clothes, it's then that it won't work for me at all!
Kisses,
Sam.

When I saw him in those light colored clothes, for the second or third time (the first few I may have still been ogling in shock at the screen, for I was not aware that they had changed that ending... imagine my surprise when Hayden pops up in there... ) Anyhow, the first time I noticed the lighter Jedi robes, my first thought was: Oh, that's PERFECT! I saw it as symbolism through color. It represented the Force completely welcoming him into its embrace, and the darkness being forever flushed from his soul. He wore the dark browns and blacks back when the darkness was consuming him (slowly and steadily) and it suited him. But at the end of ROTJ, that obviously wasn't the case. The dark garments in themselves were symbolism through color... and Hayden wearing the light clothes there at the end of Retutn of the Jedi gives viewers (or me, at least) more of a Everything comes full circle sense than they most likely already feel from the mere events that take place at the climax and closing of the film. It just seems to fit. Hayden and the light clothes. I mean, imagine him in the darker ones, being right beside Yoda and Obi-Wan and all... he would seem out of place... not like he truly belongs there, as Lucas intended for him to seem. I don't think they could have pulled this ending off with the simple mistake of using dark Jedi robes, you know? I mean, to me, it seems like a drastic move, albeit a wrong move. It's almost like putting Shaw in there still, but in Anakin's ROTS clothes... (wow) Ehhh. I changed my mind. It's not quite like that.

I agree with Arie the clothes were symbolic of his total transition to the light...... anakin wore brown in AOTC then black and brown in ROTS, then when he is vader he is completely black
