Rebirth of the Jedi

Chapter 1

Anakin awoke with a start....... he sat there in bed trying to clear his head.......

Padme feels the bed shake.... "did you have a nightmare?" hoping he didn't, hoping that he would never have them again.....

"No.....it wasn't a nightmare, but something is wrong"..... Anakin sensed.......

He didn't want to admit that he really didn't remember the dream. He knew he was dreaming, he remembers seeing Obi-wan alive... not a force ghost..... but then something awakened him, a feeling of evil.... the dark path..... something.... he hadn't felt in months......

"It was nothing" he reassured her...... as he gently kisses her forehead and gets out of bed.......

The apartment was a mess..... toys strewn all over...... he tries not to trip over anything.... he laughs at the sight......

The Skywalker family had been living on Corusant so Anakin could be close to the Jedi Temple.... restoring the Order was not going to be easy, new codes had to be established and trying to convince Yoda was difficult..... he was an old dog, who didn't want to learn any new tricks..........

It had been 6 months since The Emperor was defeated..... any evidence of his presence was now gone.... buildings repaired.....families reunited with their soldiers.......

A sleepy Leia holding a wookie doll strolls into the living room.... Anakin sees her and smiles........she instinctively crawls into his lap and sits there as she tries to wake up fully..... her father is catching up on news from the hologram........

Padme walks in carrying Luke.....who when he sees his father, wants down and runs to his daddy.......

Luke attempts to crawl into his father's lap like his sister, but she won't have it...... Luke whimpers....

"Ok you two, no need to fight over him" Padme reassures......

Anakin doesn't even realize whats going on, he's paying close attention to the news......

"Anakin?" Padme says loudly....

"What?, Oh sorry, what were you saying?" Anakin states.....

"I said your son wants in your lap too.... you need to make room"

Anakin nods and picks Luke up and places him on one knee and Leia on the other..... Luke gives a hugh smile to his father, who isn't looking at him, but kisses him on the head.......

"I swear they love you more than me...." Padme kids.....

"They don't see me as much lately, that's all" Anakin states.......

He looks outside, its still dark out "what time is it?" he asks.....

"Its too early" says Padme....."I think around 5am"

"I didn't mean to wake up the entire family" Anakin states.... he shuts off the news and places Luke and Leia down.......

Anakin walks towards Padme, his two loving children hot on his trail following him.....

Anakin reaches for Padme..... "Your so beautiful" he kisses her....

"I'm a mess and I'm tired...." she teases.....

"Never my love, your never a mess" Anakin starts to laugh as his twins each grab a hold of a leg......

"They sense you, Anakin.....its like when your sad, they are sad, when you are happy, they are happy...... you woke up just now and they seem to follow suit"

"I know, I feel it" he states looking at them and smiling......

"As they grow and mature, they will learn to live with their senses and the force and not be so sensitive to it" Anakin states.......

Padme nods her head, knowing her husband is right..... she is starting to understand more of the force, especially since her children are so strong in the force.... being their mother and so close to them, seeing their strength in the force is a daily lesson ...... she sometimes "feels" her children, also.....but chalks it up to simple "mother's intuition".....

"Luke, Leia, since your wide awake now, let's have an early breakfast" Padme states as she walks towards the kitchen......

Being two healthy, growing 18 month olds, Luke and Leia practically run into the kitchen after their mother.....

Anakin chuckles as he watches them......they bring me such joy..... I truly am the luckiest man in the galaxy, he thinks...... He suddenly notices an urgent message on his comlink...... he uses the force to turn it on and is at the comlink when it starts to play....... its a recorded message from Kister..... he missed the call last night........

"Anakin? Don't you want breakfast?" Padme asks as shes walking into the living room.....

Anakin quickly shuts off the com link.... he has a large frown on his face and he's deep in thought...... He looks up at Padme "what? I'm sorry...."

"What's wrong?" Padme asks, the smile on her face quickly turns to concern......

"Nothing...... " he states.....

"Anakin..... don't do this...... you promised, no more secrets" Padme states...... looking even more worried.........

"Padme, its military stuff, I'm not positive of what's going on, but I do believe the dream I had was a warning" Anakin admits......

"You said you really didn't remember the dream?" she asks

"I don't, just a feeling really, I did see Obi-wan in the dream, I think he is trying to tell me something" Anakin ponders.........

"What?" asks Padme

"I'm not sure..... Kister contacted me from Alderaan..... he said that Mon Mothma is missing......she left here, days ago, to visit her home world of Chandrila, but never arrived"

"Why are you hearing it from Kister?" Padme asks

"I don't know.... I've been busy with restoring the Jedi, but I get daily military reports from General Panaka" Anakin is pacing now......

"He should be aware of this, he wouldn't keep anything from you, you are the militaries strongest advisor" Padme states.....

"I know...... like I said something's wrong"

"You said you saw Obi-wan in your dream........is it like when you see his force ghost?" Padme asks......

"No....he's alive in my dream.........I don't know how I know that, but I just do.............come to think of it, I haven't seen his force ghost for months now..........I just assumed since everything was going so well, that I didn't require his guidance as much, plus I have Yoda"

"Well maybe there's a time limit as to how long you can see the force ghosts?........they all can't stick around forever...... they must eventually become one with the force?" Padme asks.....

"I don't know.......I must meditate on this.........then I will go find Master Yoda and discuss it with him" Anakin says.......

Padme is now at Anakins side.....looking up to her husband with understanding and love in her eyes.........her arms are around his waist........he looks at her and musters up a smile..... he kisses her on the forehead and they hug.........

"You do whatever you need to my love" Padme states....."just know I'm here for you and will help in any way I can"

Anakin closes his eyes and tightens his embrace on her "I love you Padme"

"I love you Ani"............

Chapter 2

"What do you mean Master?" Anakin asks Yoda.......

"Wrong something is with the Force" Yoda states

"Have not felt this way for some time" he adds.....

"Do you think this disturbance in the Force is related to me not seeing Obi-wan's Force ghost?" asks Anakin

"yes, yes" Yoda replies.........

"Sith destroyed yes, but evil remains" Yoda gets up from his meditating position and looks out to the city of Corusant.......

"Go you must to find Mon Mothma........Kister to help you...... General Panaka investigating his intel to see why he did not know of her disappearance" Yoda states.......

"I will go to Alderaan as quickly as possible Master" Anakin is getting up now and is looking down at Yoda........

"May the force be with you" Yoda states as Anakin is leaving.......

"thank you Master" Anakin says quickly as he heads for home..... his mind is racing...... what evil remains?.....most if not all of the Sith's followers were destroyed.........and where is Obi-wan?

After the destruction of the Empire.... Obi-wan's Force ghost was practically a daily site....... it even started to annoy Padme, when she would hear Anakin talking and believe he was talking to her, but to find out he was talking to the "air" and not her.......she was trying so hard to understand everything......all the changes in her husband......

Anakin knew she would be upset that he had to leave..... he arrived home to see his beautiful wife sitting on the couch...... he smiles, she raises her finger to her mouth implying "quite" and motioned to the twins sleeping on the floor...........

Anakin smiles and quietly grabs her hand and leads her to their bedroom........ he pulls her to him and kisses her passionately......

"We need to be quiet...... they were so over exhausted today, they didn't want to nap, they finally collapsed on the floor and I left them there" Padme states giggling as Anakin fumbles to undress her quickly...

Passion in his eyes, he laughs as they fall unto the bed.........

Suddenly he stops kissing her........ Anakin looks so lovingly and sad at his wife......... he brushes her hair away from her face.....

"What's wrong?" Padme asks, knowing her husbands face so well.......

"I hate to tell you this right now, but I have to leave" Anakin admits......

Padme's face is now sad "I knew you were going to, it was inevitable"

"I'm sorry My Love".... he whispers to her........

They stare at each other for a long time.... their eyes telling each other everything........

"Finish telling me later Ani" Padme states as she eagerly continues their kissing.......

Anakin smiles and complies to his wife............

Anakin sits there playing with his food....... everyone at the dinner table is quite.......Padme hasn't even touched her food...... the twins eat slowly and periodically look at their father.........

"I will leave for Alderaan early in the morning............. Luke and Leia will probably still be sleeping" Anakin finally states........

"Thats fine"......Padme looks at Anakin, he looks so worried.... she then looks at the twins who also aren't happy........"make sure you say goodbye to them tonight".....

"I will" Anakin looks at Padme......the distraught in his eyes, he hasn't been away from his family for six months and had grown accustomed to it....... he never thought he would enjoy staying in one place for so long......but he did..... all those adventures didn't mean anything to him like they used to.... all that mattered was his family..........

But evil was lurking around the corner...he must face his responsibilities and ensure that his family and their home................. their life, will remain safe......

Chapter 3

Anakin places the twins down to sleep...... they are both looking at him, worried......... Leia hands Anakin her wookie doll "for da-da" she says....... Leia was the quiet one, she doesn't speak alot, here and there, Luke was the chatter box........

Anakin smiles and takes the doll, as a single tear flows down his cheek...... "good-bye, for now" he musters.......

Luke and Leia sense the sadness in their father, but also know that they will see him again..... Luke smiles and says "bye-bye" and waves his little hand up at his father........

Anakin bends down and kisses them both on their foreheads...... "I love you Luke, I love you Leia" he states and quickly turns and leaves, not bearing to look at them any longer and be able to control his emotions........

Padme is at the door of the nursery and Anakin stops suddenly so as to not bump into her, he wasn't expecting her there........

She looks up at her husband and smiles, he places his arm around her and she does the same, they walk to their bedroom, silent........

They lay in bed, holding each other, neither able to sleep........

Anakin finally breaks the silence......."you know that you and the children are the most important thing to me?" he asks.....

"of course I do" Padme states as she leans up on one elbow to look at her husband.......

"I knew rebuilding the Jedi would take me away from you all, but not physically......... something is wrong......and not just Mon Mothma disappearing"............ Anakin states, playing with a piece of her curly hair......... "that is why I have to leave"

"What do you think it is?" Padme asks......

"Yoda and I sense a disturbance in the force........its Evil....Padme.......Evil" he admits........

"Anakin, your scaring me" she states.........

"I don't mean to........its just.....I want you to know that for our family's safety........its the only reason I would leave you"

"I know Anakin, I know...........what does Obi-wan think? she asks......

"That's another problem, I haven't seen or heard him in months"

"just come home as soon as you can" is all she can say at the moment.......terrible thoughts invade her mind......

Anakin senses her fear "I promise I will come back, nothing can keep me away from you and our family" he states....... kissing her gently on her forehead......he pulls her to him and they hug..........Padme's eyes are closed tight savoring the moment........ Anakins are open looking out at the city......deep in thought............

He finishes dressing, as Padme sits on the bed watching him.......... they don't speak, just keep looking at each other......each trying to smile here and there to comfort the other...............

He motions for her and she stands and takes his hand..........she walks him to his speeder.............

"you need help, you need to get C3PO and R2 back" he finally states.......

"Yes I was thinking the same.......Bail had their memories erased and gave them to Captain Antilles, I'm sure he would return them if we ask" Padme states..............

Anakin remembers the conversation he and Padme had about the droids, when he questioned their absence after everything had settled down. They agreed at the time to not ask for the droids back since they were on Alderaan with the Captain and helping with the Organa's estate.....he still remembers the horror of their deaths.............

"I'll make all the arrangements" Padme states.......

Nodding his head...... Anakin just stares at Padme...........his crystal blue eyes tearing up, unable to bear their goodbye any longer...... "I love you Padme, with all my heart" he says and kisses her quickly on her mouth, and turns to his speeder.......

"I love you......." she states and unable to bear it any longer starts to cry...... He takes off and she watches till she can't see the speeder any longer........ she turns into their apartment and checks on the twins.....she smiles and musters up a laugh as she sees Leia's wookie doll sitting next to her........Anakin must have sneaked in and placed it back for his daughter........she sighs........she misses him already.............

Chapter 4

On his way to Alderaan, Anakin truly felt the absence of Obi-wan, usually when he was alone, his former Master would talk with him.... where was he? What was the disturbance in the force? His powers were stronger since he destroyed the Sith, but he was still learning.... he needed Obi-wan..... why couldn't he figure out what was wrong? Where was Mon Mothma? So many questions, hopefully he would get answers and soon...... he already was missing his family and wanted to get home as quickly as possible.

He landed on Alderaan and Kister was there waiting for him..... a huge smile on his face, the embraced....."I missed you old friend" he said......

"Same here" Anakin said....... his smile quickly turning to concern and seriousness, "any news on Mon Mothma?"

Kister's smile also fades.... "No.... nothing....., its like she just disappeared"

"Well hopefully we can get to the bottom of it" Anakin states as they start to walk towards the "old Rebel Base"....... since the destruction of the Empire, it has become a military headquarters, which General Kister was in charge of...........

After reviewing the travel logs over and over..... Anakin still hadn't a clue........ he must meditate on it......

"You look very tired" Kister stated.......

"I haven't slept since I left Corusant" Anakin states matter of factly......

"Go get some rest, your no good to me tired...." Kister kidded........

"Your right, plus I must meditate.... there is something wrong with the Force...... have you heard of any loyalists to the Empire?"

"No, we've been spying on any remaining ones and nothing so far, they say they are not loyal to the Empire..... but they are suspicious and we're keeping an eye on them" Kister said "now go rest"

Anakin leaves........ he is surprised to find that the quarters he is given was the same one Padme stayed in during the Rebellion.........he smiles as he remembers their first night back together as husband and wife there....... oh how he missed her already! her smile, the smell of her hair, the softness of her skin..... and Luke and Leia....... the joy he has just looking at them.........he calls home and is surprised to see C3PO answering the com link.....

"Threepio!, so good to see you!" Anakin states.......

"Master Skywalker, good to see you sir, I'm so glad they restored R2 and my memory!, although I say it was rude to remove it in the first place.... I was shocked to find out it happened, and Master Antilles, he wasn't very nice.... . hardly used any of my services..... and.....

"Threepio, stop!" Anakin says with a smile....... (same ole droid).... "May I please speak with my wife?"

"Oh yes sir..... and by the way I was so glad to hear of the children!, they will keep me busy, although its not using my services properly....."

"Threepio?" Anakin says again........ "My wife please?"

"Oh alright......"

Padme appears on the com link and Anakin feels an ache in his stomach..... "hello, my love" he says.....

"Ani! how are you?" she asks eagerly......

"I'm fine dear..... how are you? and the twins?" he asks.......

"Well I'm missing my husband very deeply..... and the twins too...... they are sleeping at the moment...... they aren't the same without you"

"I know I feel it also" he states.....

"Ani, you look tired, are you alright?" she asks

"I just can't figure everything out, I should be able to with my powers, its very frustrating" he admits.......

"Give it time Anakin, your still adjusting to everything, as is everyone" she states........

He smiles...... knowing she is right...... "I love you Padme...... good night my love"

"I love you Ani.... good night, sleep well" Padme looks sad as she states the last comment.......

The com link ends...... Anakin feels even more empty..........he closes his eyes and meditates........

Anakin meditates for a very long time..... during his meditation he has images of Obi-wan..... he's standing in front of him, smiling mischievously at him......Obi-wan is telling him, he will help him...... he will always be there for his brother, at this, Anakin smiles and comes out of his meditation.......

He is exhausted, he practically is asleep when his head hits the pillow..... again, he dreams of Obi-wan.... but also something else....... something, someone in black, blurry...... a figure? in long black robes maybe? he can't make it out............but he thinks he hears an evil laugh...... a laugh he thought he would never hear again...............

Chapter 5

Anakin awakes with an uneasy feeling...... he was so exhausted......but he remembers dreaming..... remembers the uncomfortable feeling....... but he can't clearly remember all of it...... he consults Master Yoda.....

"Evil you sense in these dreams?" Yoda asks......

"That I'm sure of..... but there's someone there...... someone familiar....... I think its the Emperor" Anakin states.........

"Odd that is, dead is he" Yoda states.....

"I know Master, but I can't shake this feeling it was him" Anakin admits.......

"Strong in the force you are Master Skywalker...... evil I sense also....... meditate we both must continue........"

"Yes Master, I will" Anakin says......

"Interesting......" Anakin hears Yoda say before the transmission was ended.........

Anakin heads to the Main Square of Alderaan to pay his respect to Bail and Breha Organa....... they were buried there with a large monument built in their honor........

He keeps looking around, he senses he's being followed.... but every time he looks, nothing....... someone is definitely there.......... he keeps on guard, with his hand on his light saber, just in case..........

People in the square are surprised to see him, they recognize The Chosen One but are too timid to approach him......

Anakin has come accustomed to the stares and recognition ........ although still feeling very modest, he doesn't think he did anything spectacular...... just what was right............ at the corner of his eye he sees a small boy.........blonde hair, blue eyes, just like his Luke's.......this child has courage and approaches him.....

"Master Skywalker?" he asks.......

Anakin smiles and kneels down to be eye level with the boy......"yes little man" he states........

"I think your great" he states as he gives Anakin a huge bear hug......

Anakin returns the hug...... and laughs....."Thank you, that's just what I needed today" he says.......

At this the boy is thrilled and runs back to his mother.......Anakin chuckles.......... he thinks that Luke will be probably be like that, brave and loving...... how he misses him and his sister........, his sister..... what a handful that little lady was....... so strong......so quiet........always getting her way..........

He stops in front of the monument...... a loving sculpture of Bail and Breha..... they are looking at each other and holding each other's hands......a picture of love.......captured very well........

Anakin pays his respects for a long while.......still feeling responsible for their deaths....... he shakes his head as to stop his negative thinking........

He quickly heads back to the Headquarters...........he stops again and looks around in a complete circle....... he knows someone is there....... its not evil, but who is it? Is it another eager admirer?

"Come out, I know your there" Anakin states loudly.......

Nothing.........."I will not be angered if you come out now" he continues............

Nothing........ shrugging his shoulders..... he continues on his way.......

He arrives at Headquarters.... to find Kister deep in conversation with one of his men...... he looks up at Anakin, happy to see him......

"Well rested I hope?" he asks Anakin.......

"Very" Anakin replies.......

"Good news.... we found the mole on Corusant...... and have sequestered him....... he is responsible for not getting any important information to General Panaka.......the bad news is he's not talking"

"He's a loyalist to the Empire then?" Anakin states more than asks.....

"I assume so.... he wasn't on our watch list...... it was a stinging shock to find out it was him..... he was close to Panaka....... very disappointing......" Kister states...........

"At this juncture we should not really trust anyone"....... Anakin states...... " I think you, me and Panaka should only talk about any serious findings, plans, etc"

"I agree" Kister states..... ."Panaka will be checking in another hour or so.... .he's still interrogating his mole.......he's very upset"

"I have a feeling, he won't find out anything......we're going to have to find out ourselves"......Anakin states as he continues to look over the reports and logs over the last few weeks.

Suddenly a corporal enters the office, quickly and loudly reporting.....
"General...... they found the Supreme Chancellors ship on Chandrila....... unfortunately Mon Mothma was not found, but all her crew were found dead"

Anakin and Kister look at each other, excitement on their faces.....

Anakin states...."So she made it home"

"It appears so...." Kister states...... "any other evidence found?"

"Yes sir...... it was reported that the crew were killed by light saber....."

At this Anakin is shocked... .who other than Jedi uses a light saber....."are they sure?" he asks......

"Yes sir".......

"That will be all" Kister states....... and the corporal leaves.........

Anakin is deep in thought........"Well it looks like we need to go to Chandrila"

"Yes...... I'll have your Star fighter ready as quickly as possible"

"I think we should go together" Anakin states.....

"Why?, I can you follow in my ship?" Kister asks.....

Anakin shrugs.... "just trust me.... we need to go together"......

Kister now shrugs....."your the Jedi Master", they smile at each other and head for the hanger...........

Chapter 6

Kister, Anakin and some of the military, which after the Empire was defeated were now called the Republic Guard..... were on their way to Chandrila....... Anakin was flying the ship himself, he hatedsusing the computer..... the ships always feel better when he is in control.......

"You took it off auto-pilot?" Kister asks as he enters the cockpit.....

"Always" Anakin smiles....... "we're almost there....... I personally spoke to General Panaka and Master Yoda and updated them........they agree to keep a tight circle of trust, due to recent events"

Kister nodded in agreement......... "beautiful planet" he said as they were making their approach.......

They landed and were greeted by the Senator of Chandrila, Mon Trylov....... "Master Skywalker, General Kister..... welcome...... I had hoped we would have met under different circumstances" she said.....

"Yes I agree" Anakin stated....... "without being rude, we would like to examine Mon Mothma's ship as soon as possible"

"I completely understand, we too would like to get to the bottom of this" Trylov said as she motioned to her troops......"these Guardsmen have been stationed here since the destruction of the Empire, they will show you and your men the site......... afterward please come to my office so we may discuss your findings and compare them with ours"

"Certainly my lady" Kister said staring at Trylov as long as he could without tripping over his feet as he follows Anakin.........

Trylov was a young woman, in her 20's, very mature for her age and position. Her eyes were green and her hair black as coal......her skin was fair and flawless........ her gown matched her eyes and her straight hair lay perfectly to the middle of her back...... she too lingered a little longer at Kister than needed...... admiring his handsome face, wide smile, dark hair and olive skin....... he was much shorter than Master Skywalker, but his height equaled hers and she wasn't short for a woman........

Anakin sees the look between Trylov and Kister.... and grabs his friend by the arm and guideds him away......... Kister is still smiling as they arrive at the ship.

The crew were gone, their bodies sent to their families...... the scene was eerie......nothing really out of place..... there were no blaster shots, or evidence of a fight....... Anakin checked the ships logs.... and found no reason for the sudden landing, which was miles away from Chandrila's official hanger. Any visual recordings were apparently taken.

"There's not much here" Anakin states to Kister.........

Kister is just staring......

Anakin places his hand on Kisters shoulder and Kister jumps...... "what? huh? oh sorry.... were you saying something?"

Anakin smiles, he knows his friend is smitten..... "yes Kister, I was saying that there is not much to go on here..........I think we should go over the autopsy reports of the crew"

"Yeah okay, sounds like a plan.......... hey...... should we go tell Mon Trylov that we didn't find anything?......... I mean before we review the autopsy reports?" Kister asked........

Anakin couldn't help but chuckle at his friend.... "No I think we should review the reports, then go meet with her"

"oh alright......" Kister says disappointed.......

"I need all of you Kister" Anakin said seriously........

"I know, I know.... sorry...... she just takes my breath away......... I promise, I'm all yours..... so to speak"...... Kister assures......

"Glad to hear" Anakin states as they head to the Coroners Office to review the autopsies...........

Anakin and Kister spent hours reviewing the reports....... frustrated..... Kister slams the last report down on the table...... "nothing.....they didn't even put up a fight...... just like they were executed by light saber".......

"I sense they knew their attackers" Anakin says, still staring at the reports........ looking back and forth between them........

"Attackers?" Kister says......

"Yes there was more than one" Anakin states, finally raising his eyes to Kister...... "if there was only one attacker, there would defiantly be signs of a fight..... this was a well planned attack, which happened so quickly that the crew didn't know what hit them"

"They would only change their course and landing for a significant reason....... to help another ship..... .I'm thinking......... with no reason not to trust their attackers..... they were ambushed" Anakin concludes......

"Um aren't we reading the same reports" Kister kids...... knowing Anakin is right....... in awe of his skills.........

"Yes the same reports..... which I think are tainted...... as was the scene.... everything is all too neat and clean....... I think we were meant not to find any clues or evidence"

"Why did I even come? you don't need me....." Kister smiles........

"I need you old friend.... believe me" Anakin states......... "now we need to report to Mon Trylov"

Kister eagerly stands up "I was hoping you'd say that"..... .he was out the door before Anakin could even stand up himself........ Anakin laughs to himself...... he remembers that feeling...... the utter joy in your heart of meeting the one you will spend the rest of your life with....... he knew his friend had found her.........

Chapter 7

Anakin and Kister reported to Mon Trylov and her usual smiling face was now racked with concern, her eyebrows together trying to figure out who could have lured Mon Mothma and her crew and then sabotaged them?

"You think the reports are tainted?" Trylov asked "how?"

"everything was too neat and in order......there are no leads, and there should be" Anakin explained.....

"So what your really saying is that I have a spy or spies amongst us here on Chandrila?" she stated.....

"Probably" Kister interjected.....

"I'd say definitely" Anakin corrects.... Kister shoots Anakin a look at his last comment..... Anakin just grins back at his friend........

Kister and Trylov continued in conversation, theorizing and analyzing, when Anakin turned around........ he felt someone watching him, the same feeling he had on Alderaan...........what was going on? he had to go investigate..... "Excuse me" he said to Kister and Mon Trylov.....

Trylov nodded her head and Kister couldn't help but smile, he would be alone with her now and maybe they could learn more about each other......

Anakin quickly left Trylov's office.... and heads outside where he feels the presence........he's walking quickly, instinctively knowing where to go....... a shadowy figure wearing a robe with its hood up, loomed behind a pillar and he shouts out to it "who's there" as he got closer and closer to it.

The figure turns and runs and Anakin quickly gives chase. Anakin is gaining and notices that the figure was tiring...... "I will catch you, you might as well surrender" Anakin shouts as he continues his gain.......

The figure suddenly stops, realizing what Anakin said was a solid truth.......

Anakin comes upon the figure, who has its back to Anakin, the hood still was up........... Anakin has this compulsion to know who this is...... who has been following him on Alderaan and now here on Chandrila? He goes to turn the figure around, but a hand grabs his......"Please don't" the figure states......

Anakin knows the voice, but how? what trick was this? "I demand to know who you are and what your doing following me!" Anakin is clearly getting emotional and doesn't know why...... feelings of loss, love, friendship, betrayal were all swarming around him........

"I am your brother" the figure states as he turns and lowers his hood.........

Shock, disbelief and happiness all written on his face, Anakin stammers out........"Obi-wan?" ..... he looks like Obi-wan, sounds like him, but he saw Obi-wan die..... saw his force ghost on more than one occasion, had numerous talks and lectures with his ghost, but now, here standing in front of him, very much alive was him.......

"Yes my brother, it is I, reborn from the force to help in these dark times" Obi-wan states....

"How?, Anakin still in shock, starring iintently at Obi-wan,...... it couldn't be.

"There are things happening Anakin that you are unaware of and just starting to figure out, Jedi are needed and the force has given life back to a few jedi, who will help restore the order and stamp out this evil, once and for all" Obi-wan said....... he is now smiling at Anakin, unable to contain his happiness at seeing him face to face and also at feeling alive again......

Anakin couldn't help but smile also......."Is that why you were gone?"

"Yes, its not a simple process coming back to life, so to speak" Obi-wan said, grinning sarcastically.

Anakin can no longer control his emotions, there in front of him is his brother, his best friend......... he swiftly and quickly hugs Obi-wan, lifting him off the ground, who laughs and returns the embrace.........

They stand there for a while, neither wanting to let go.......

"I don't believe it, but it is you" Anakin finally said......

"Yes it is me.... and I'm still in a bit of shock myself" Obi-wan admits....... "Although I would love to stay here and chat, we need to get to a secured location, so I can update you and Master Yoda on the turmoil that is coming"

"This way" Anakin said as he headed for Kister's ship.

Chapter 8

Anakin and Obi-wan were in deep discussion in Anakin's quarters, when Kister arrived on his ship and went straight to his friends room....... he was highly upset with Anakin leaving like that, with no explanation and mostly being gone so long..... he didn't mind the time with Trylov, but felt embarrassed after awhile not knowing what was going on when she asked...... he just had to shrug his shoulders and excuse himself....... she smiled graciously and placed her hand out to him, he became more embarrassed, and stood there awkwardly, should he shake it? Think, think...... Anakin grabbed her hand when they first met and knelt..... okay, okay..... you need to stop gawking at her and kneel! he screamed to himself......which Kister finally did..... but instinctively also kissed her hand..... which brought an instant blush to her creamy skin. Kister felt a rush of warmth to his own cheeks and as quickly as he knelt, he was up, walking backwards, bumping into a table, excusing himself, smiling, almost giggling....... and the door he went......... Trylov stood there an extra moment, touching where he kissed and smiling at the door......."what an interesting man....... not conceded like most of the politicians I've met, he's honest, shy, but mostly sweet" she said out loud to no one in particular.......she then turned to head to her quarters for a good nights rest.

"Anakin Skywalker!" Kister was saying as he head into Anakin's room, he didn't even bother knocking, being a little perturbed at his friend...... "thanks for leaving me hanging th......." he stopped dead in his tracks and stared at Obi-wan, who quickly stood up as Anakin did with light sabers drawn at the sudden intrusion.......

"huh? y- y- your dead" Kister stammered out pointing to Obi-wan in disbelief...........

Withdrawing their weapons, Anakin smiled at Obi-wan who was also smiling....... "Apparently not anymore" Obi-wan said..... "how have you been Kister?" he asked.......

"Um fine, thanks and you?" Kister said automatically, still in shock at what he was seeing in front of him......

"Well I've been dead for 6 months, but other than that, I've been well" Obi-wan said sarcastically, bringing an even bigger smile to Anakin's face....... Anakin was trying his hardest not to laugh at Kister's look.......

Kister finally getting some sense around him asked angerly "What's going on Anakin? why did you leave me like that at Trylov's office? How is it that he (pointing to Obi-wan as if he was a thing and not a person) is alive? if it is him?"........... Anakin stopped smiling and grabbed Kister by the shoulders, he guided him to a chair and sat him down.........

"It's him Kister, I feel it, I know it" Anakin stated.......

"Oh great, now people are coming back from the dead!", Kister said exasperatedly bringing his hands up in the air and down on his knees hard........... he was shaking his head and continued....... "I just don't know how much more I can take of this force Anakin, I mean you see things, feel things, Know things......I have no clue of..... why am I even hear? I'm getting frustrated and feel useless"........

"Stop Kister, your needed, your my friend and my ally, I promise you, you are not useless, you've helped me with my family, but most of all you helped me, by forgiving me and staying my friend" Anakin said very seriously.

"okay, okay, but someone better tell me whats going on, before I lose it" Kister said......

Obi-wan smiles at this.... "Kister, you are not the only one shocked and surprised, there has been a disturbance in the force, that Anakin has sensed but has been unable to decipher. Evil remains, even after the Sith was destroyed".

"How?, who?" Kister asked........

"We are not positively sure, but some loyalists to Palpatine were very strong in the force", Obi-wan sat down as he was explaining this to Kister....... "unbeknownst to Anakin, Palpatine trained these "Dark Jedi" as insurance if anything happened to Vader, they were his spies and tracked down many of the surviving Jedi after Order 66".

"Great, just great" Kister said...... "and I bet these Dark Jedi are behind the disappearance of Mon Mothma"

"Yes exactly, they want to cause chaos in the government, weaken it, so there could be another take over" Anakin interjected........

"But with Palpatine dead, who is running this? in charge of it?" "Or is he alive too?" Kister asked.....

"I'm not sure" Anakin stated, "I've felt this evil and I believe I've seen him in my dreams"

Obi-wan contemplates this....... "I suppose if the Force was able to give life back to some Jedi, it could be fathom-able that the Dark Side could do the same?"

"I hope not" Anakin stated.....

"So do I my friend, so do I" Obi-wan said....... all three sat there in silence contemplating their next move...........

Chapter 9

Kister said his good nights to Anakin and Obi-wan......

"Well I guess we should retire also" Obi-wan said..........

Anakin nodded in agreement "Obi-wan, one question" he asked.

"Yes?" he was smiling...... almost knowing the question......

"Why didn't you want me to know you were back? alive?" Anakin asked......

"Anakin, I trust you with my life, but there are certain things I cannot tell you now"

"Like what?" Anakin asked..... raising his voice.....

"I cannot tell you how I became alive again, I cannot tell you the other Jedi that are also alive again, I cannot tell you some of our plans....... It was not part of the plan to reveal myself to you, due to the emotional ties we have" Obi-wan said.

Anakin was taken aback by this, hurt....... he felt himself getting angry, upset........ he took a deep breath, centering himself, a calm over came him......... Obi-wan observed this.

"I'm proud of how your controlling your emotions Anakin" Obi-wan said........

Anakin nodded......"I dreamt about you being alive....." Anakin stated matter of factly...... "and not seeing your force ghost was terrible, whatever the reason is, I'm glad your here, I've missed you Obi-wan"

"As I you" Obi-wan looks around Anakin's quarter's where shall I sleep?

"My room is yours, make your self comfortable" Anakin stated.....motioning to his bed.

Obi-wan grabbed a blanket and was proceeding to lay on the floor.....

"Oh no..... you get the bed........" Anakin insisted......

"No Anakin, I appreciate it..... I'll be fine here" Obi-wan said, but the look on his former Padawan's face was all too stubborn.....he's seen it once too often....... "fine, fine...... let's just get some rest"

Anakin smiles to himself....... it felt like old times with his Master....... "Good night Obi-wan" he said as he turned on his side on the floor.....

"Good night Anakin, sleep well"

Anakin awoke very refreshed, he looked over to this bed, and noticed it was empty..... "Obi-wan?" he called out........ no reply....... hmm he probably got up early and is meditating or something.

Stretching and yawning, Anakin proceeds to the main deck of the ship......

"Morning" Kister says

"Morning, have you seen Obi-wan"

"Nope, Mon Trylov has invited us to breakfast" Kister said smiling.....

"I wonder where he is" Anakin says, not really hearing what Kister is saying...............

"I'm hungry, let's go eat, I'm sure he'll show up sooner or later" Kister states, as he gets up and heads out of the ship.

Anakin follows, deep in thought.......he reaches out with the force for his former Master.......... and stops in his tracks, he senses Obi-wan, he's no longer on Chandrila..... Obi-wan senses Anakin's probe, he smiles....."Anakin, I am fine, I had to leave..... please don't try to find me, it will all become apparent soon" he tells Anakin through the force......

"Yes Master......May the force be with you" Anakin replies back....... "but if I sense your in danger I will find you, I lost you once, I won't again"

"That's the precise reason I didn't want to reveal myself to you my brother" Obi-wan smiles....."I will be fine Anakin, I will contact you when it is time"...........

"Time for what?" Anakin asks....... but he is not answered, he is gently pushed away from Obi-wans mind...... Anakin knew he was stronger and he could easily re connect with Obi-wan, but out of respect for him, he doesn't try.

Anakin and Kister have breakfast with Mon Trylov...... not much is said........ Anakin senses betrayal in Mon Trylov's thoughts and also regret.........she was part of the kidnapping of Mon Mothma, but not a willing one.........

Anakin stares at Trylov......."you need to tell me where she is"

"What? excuse me? Trylov asks.....

Kister is shocked....."what are you doing?"

"She knows what happened, she was a part of it" Anakin states, not taking his eyes off of her......

"How do you know that?" she asks...... her eyes looking down to her lap.....

"what?" Kister asks

"I sensed it from our first meeting, its only today that I am positive........ a great man once told me.... be mindful of your feelings..... they betray you" Anakin takes his gaze from Trylov to Kister......

"Her feelings for you and her guilt is what exposed her" Anakin says to Kister......

"Tell me this isn't true? you don't know where she is?" Kister pleads to Trylov.......

"It IS true, I was a part of the conspiracy to have her kidnapped and conceal any evidence of it, but I do NOT know where she is and that is the truth"

"Why?" Kister asks............

"They have my sister, they told me if I help them and kept you both in the dark, they would return her" she said, starting to cry.

"They promised not to hurt her......they promised no one would get hurt..... but her crew........" she was sobbing now...

Kister went to her and hugged her.... .she clung to him......



"Who are they?" Anakin asks.......

"Jedi I think, they had light sabers......"

"Dark Jedi" Anakin corrects.....

"Who did you talk to" Anakin asks

"I never saw their faces, they were covered, there was one man though who acted like their leader" she informed.....

"Did you know this man?" Kister asks, still holding her, not wanting to let go......

"I thought I did, but he is dead.......... his voice sounded like the former Emperor"

Kister looks at Anakin "he is alive"

"It appears" Anakin states......"I must meditate on this, Kister stay with Trylov, notify Panaka and the other generals of what we have discovered about the Dark Jedi...... no one is to confront them if they are found, I will do that"

"What about her?, I mean what she's done?" Kister asks......

"No one needs to know, she had no choice, we all make bad decisions......... we shouldn't ruin her life and career for one mistake" Anakin states.........

"I agree, and you should know" Kister smiles as he teases his friend.........

"Yeah, I should know......" Anakin states not smiling or appreciating his friends comment, he turns and leaves..........

He contacts Master Yoda and updates him on all the news......

"Master Kenobi Alive?, see this I did not" Yoda states...... "plan the Force has, no controlling it I fear"

"How can the force do this?, make its own decisions, bring Jedi back to life?, I don't understand" Anakin ponders.......

"Many prophecies are there, yours not the only one fulfilled, Chosen one you are, balance to the force you brought, there is an ancient prophecy not many Jedi knew of"

"What is this prophecy Master?" Anakin asks.......

"Try I will to explain it" Yoda states

"Master Yoda, you told me there is no try only do or do not" Anakin reminds the old Master....

Laughing......"hee hee, Yesssssssss I did.....correct you are.......Tell the prophecy I will, your interpretation of it will be up to you"

Chapter 10

Yoda chose his words carefully......"there can be more than one meaning to a prophecy"....using his crooked cane (which he just recently started using) Yoda limped to his chair in the new Council Chambers on Corusant....

Anakin followed Yoda's hologram with eager anticipation...... he couldn't contain his eagerness and blurrted out "go on".......

"There is a Sith Prophecy, one which fulfilled by you, it appeared"..... "The Prophecy of Sith'ari, called it is"

"A man thought to be Sith, Yuthura Ban preached this prophecy, in a time long before Darth Plagueis." Yoda paused yet again, taking a deep breath..... "Memory of mine foggy, believe it as this...... Yoda then closes his eyes in an attempt to quote the phrophecy correctly..........

"There will be One who has freed themselves from all restrictions and will reach perfection, their potential fulfilled, Balance to the Force they have brought. They will have Perfect strength, perfect power, perfect destiny."

Anakins eye's grew large...... "I have heard something of this Master....... The Emperor told me this as an explanation as to why Vader would never be allowed out of the suit, saying he feared I would fulfill this prophecy and because of this fear he never let me out of the suit. He told me that sometime during the early history of the First Sith Empire, the coming of the Sith'ari was foretold. The Sith'ari was prophesied as a perfect being free of all restrictions who would rise to power and, according to the legend, destroy the Sith......... According to the description, it might have referred to me, although as Vader in the Suit I was not qualified to be genetically "perfect".

"Yes......... and destroy the Sith you did!" Perfection was you converting from The Dark Side as Vader back to Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, you freed yourself of the Suit, but most of all had the power and strength to free yourself of Evil"

Anakin nodded.......still finding it hard to accept that he was the Chosen One, no matter what Yoda, Padme or even Obi-wan had said....... the guilt of being Vader was still overbearing at times.....................

Yoda continued "but other Jedi had interpreted this prophecy different than I........ they believe that even though the Sith would be destroyed, balance to the force acheived, this destruction would make them stronger than ever, evil would remain, a Perfect Evil.................if this interpretation was true, it would mean that Palpatine was destroyed, yes, but could the Sith destruction mean he became stronger than before? Could he have remained alive? The Perfect Evil?" Yoda surmised......"if so, possibly he has fulfilled this Prophecy by freeing himself from death, the Sith are no more, but pure evil remains".........

Anakin stood up, pacing, thinking...... Yoda watched him carefully...... Anakin finally spoke "so your saying that when I killed Palpatine the Sith, I inadvertantly created a different evil? a Perfect Evil?"

Yoda nodded "possibly............a false balance we presume The Force has"

"It could explain why the Force is trying to balance itself, since this Evil is still present" Anakin surmised.......

"True, true"............"Meditate we both must on this........faith I have in Obi-wan, clearer it should become shortly"

Anakin still deep in thought, nodded in agreement "May the Force be with you Master"....

"As with you" Yoda replies....... the hologram disappeares...... and Anakin sits in his quarters for hours absorbing all that they had discussed....... Obi-wan must know some of this, hence his rebirth from the Force......

"damn" Anakin says loudly....... frustrated on his inability to see and know what was happening....... he should be able to! Why did he have the power to see the future at times and not now!

He was shaken from his thoughts by an urgent beeping from the com-link..... Padme was trying to get through to him it appeared for awhile now, but in his intense meditation he failed to hear it. He quickly flipped it on with the force from the other side of the room, smiling "Padme? how are".............he stopped when he noticed it was C3PO.

"Master Skywalker!, I'm so glad I finally got through to you" C3PO gushed out.... Anakin could hear his children crying in the backround, R2 was beeping and moving back and forth trying to calm them.....

"what's wrong?" Anakin asks quickly, why hadn't he sensed something was awry with his family? He suddenly senses it..... before C3PO could start to explain Anakin blurts out "I will be there as quick as I can!, do not leave the children alone!, do you understand me?"

"Why yes Master, but....." the com-link was ended before C3PO could say anything......"how rude!"......

R2 beeps his reply......C3PO picks up a crying Luke "I know he knows.... but he could have been more polite!, I'm only trying to help..............Oh my!, this one is in dire need of a changing!............. more beeping from R2..........."her too? ............ why do I always have to do the dirty work?" C3PO complains as he heads for the nursury...........

"Mon Mothma!" Padme says as she is thrown into the cell....... they hug for a quick moment......"What's going on?" Padme asks..... "I was taken from my bed without an explanation!" Padme notices a young girl sitting on the floor "who are you?"

"This is Mon Farlite, sister of Senator Mon Trylov from my home planet"..........Farlite meanwhile has stood up, she and Padme shake hands....... Mon Mothma continues.........."I'm not sure whats happening, I too was taken, my crew murdered in cold blood...... she shakes her head at the memory......there seems to be loyalists to The Empire and I can only assume they are trying to cause havoc in the Government...... with me being Chancellor and you one of the strongest Senators we have" Mon Mothma replies........

"They have light sabers" Padme observes "I don't understand, I hope Anakin is alright"

"What about your children?" Mon Mothma asks concerned......

"They were asleep in their nursury, when the intruders went to enter it, R2's alarm was activated.........there wasn't time for them to get Luke, Leia and myself, I heard one of them say to just take me.......I was what was important"

"Oh my, I hope they are alright" Mon Mothma says......

"Funny, I'm more worried about Anakin, I feel like Luke and Leia are safe" Padme says.......

"I hope your right.......now we must figure out a way out of here.........." Mon Mothma states.......

"I agree" all three start looking at every inch of their cell.........

Meanwhile.......

"I have to go!, they've taken my wife!" Anakin screams at Kister......he's lost his composure and realizes it, but doesn't care at the moment........

"I know that! but don't you realize its probably a trap?" Kister yells back.....your the most powerful Jedi!, they either want you to join them or want to kill you!"

"I don't care! I must find her!" Anakin continues.....

"HOLD ON! BOTH OF YOU!" Mon Trylov yells, coming to stand inbetween both of them......in a lower voice she continues......"calm down both of you and let's figure this out together"

Anakin and Kister are both breathing heavily, staring at each other....... Anakin thinks to himself that he should have just taken Kister's ship without telling him anything...... he would be out there now trying to find her......

"We're wasting time, I need to go" Anakin insists......

"and I said your not taking my ship!, your the one that said (in a mocking tone, trying to sound like Anakin, deepening his voice) "trust me, we need to go together", Kister snips out..........

"What!?!" says Anakin..... confusion and anger on his face.......

Kister trys his best to calm down, lowers his voice and with all sincerity states...."you said that we should go together, now I see why........ Anakin, I'm being the voice of reason right now...... your flying off the handle......we will get your wife back..........but we need a plan....."

Anakin sits down, his head in his hands......."your right, I did say that..... its just...."

"I know, my friend, I know" Kister states, he looks at Mon Trylov..... "get General Panaka on the line, we will need all the help we can get"

Complying Mon Trylov starts to leaves her office after making the call....."I'm going to change, I'm going with you, hopefully my sister is with your wife"

Anakin nods his head...."yes, all three of them are together"

"She's alive and well?" Trylov eagerly asks......

"Yes" is all Anakin could say....... he senses they are in danger.......oh my love........I will be there soon......... I promise!........

Padme stops searching for a moment.....surprised to sense Anakin.... she thinks to herself....no Anakin don't endanger yourself, think of the children, please just keep them safe........

Anakin shocked also at being able to sense his wifes thoughts replies back "you are force sensitive my love, what a pleasant surprise, I will find you and we will all be together again as a family! This I swear!

Padme smiles to herself, she knows her stubborn husband..... she is worried but trusts him...... "we might as well stop" she states, both Mothma and Farlite stop and look at her...... "there is already a plan to rescue us"....................

Chapter 11

"What do you mean already a plan?" Mon Mothma asks...........

"I sense my husband" Padme states smiling...... "he's assured me that a plan is under way to free us"

"Oh my I hope he realizes what he's getting himself into!" Mon Mothma states as she goes to sit down on the cold hard floor....... Mon Farlite sits right next to Mon Mothma and lays her head on her shoulder..... Mon Mothma raises her hand to Farlites head and whispers "it will all be over shortly my dear"............... and then to herself she thinks "I hope".

Meanwhile

Anakin, Kister and Panaka were all in route to the outer rim, Anakin senses are leading him there, although he is not sure which planet his wife is being kept.

Anakin is sitting at the controls of Kisters ship, he is deep in thought. He smiles for a moment, thinking of his children, at least they are safe......... there are 10 of the best Republic Guards keeping his children safe according to Panaka, he senses they are safe, but sad..... they are missing him and Padme..... he tries to reassure them through the force, calming them this night so they sleep....... Luke and Leia fall asleep holding hands and smiling, dreaming of their father.

"I must go meditate" Anakin states, feeling exhausted more mentally than physically.... maybe he can connect with Obi-wan to figure out what is going on.....

"Sure no problem, I need to get to bed anyways.... I'll put it on auto-pilot" Kister states...... he forces a smile at his friend and they both leave the cock pit.........

Anakin is successful at meditating, but not in connecting with Obi-wan, he senses evil... a trap... Padme...... Frustrated he lays down to sleep, not believing he could sleep, so angry with himself, he should be able to see more clearly...... he frowns..... "Evil is blocking my visions..... its smothering everything" he says out loud to no one......

"So you've abandoned your true self" a familiar evil voice hisses....... Anakin is surprised and jumps out of his bed, light saber drawn......"who's there?" he yells, breathing heavy, his eyes searching every inch of the room....... he's breathing heavy, his whole body practically moving with each breath....... he's afraid, something he's not very used to feeling.........

He sees nothing..... with a wave of his hand the lights come on...... still nothing........ he shuts off his light saber....... shaking his head...... what was that? "A bad dream" he says to himself....... thirsty.... he turns to go get some water...........

A hooded Black figure is right behind him and again Anakin is surprised he jumps back, igniting his saber at the same time......

"Who are you?" he demands.....again he's breathing heavy, scared, nervous..... trying to compose himself, trying to calm down......

"Why have you abandoned your true self?, you will always be Darth Vader...... my misguided young apprentice" hisses Palpatine..... as he lowers his hood to reveal himself to Anakin......his eyes were still the ugly red/yellow sith eyes, but his face is not disfigured as it once was......

Anakin musters everything he can to calm himself..... his whole body straightens as the force itself flows through him, giving him strength, his eyes no longer afraid, his breathing slows..... "I knew you were alive, I sensed it" he states with a sneer on his face of disgust.......

"Good..... Good.......my apprentice...... we are still connected" sneers Palpatine.......

"I am no longer your apprentice! you Bastard..... I killed you once, I can kill you again!" Anakin blurts as he lunges at Palpatine.......

Palpatine disappears where Anakin had lunged at.... Anakin stabs nothing but air with his saber...... Palpatine instantaneously reappears on the other side of the room..... cackling.....

Anakin turns.... surprised at the movement of his former master........ again he attacks and again Palpatine disappears and reappears in another area of the room......

"You apparently didn't kill me before" Palpatine states.... still laughing.......

Anakin centers himself......it would be useless to try to attack again he realizes......."didn't I?"

Palpatines face no longer is laughing......"well you tried" he snips......... "all that you did was help destroy the Sith..... Evil Remains Lord Vader..... or haven't you heard?"

Anakin remains staring at Palpatine, as Palpatine starts to walk about the room.....

"You didn't fulfill the prophecy of The Chosen One, as others have told you......... there is no balance to the force, all you did was allow me to fulfill the Prophecy of the Sith'ari........ you see in allowing myself to be killed by you, I killed the SITH! I am now the perfect being, with perfect strength and power, free of restrictions, free to Rule the Galaxy!"

Anakin is sickened at this...... "Allow me to kill you?"

"Yes, do you actually think you were strong enough to kill me? You were no longer a Sith, it was all part of my plan......I allowed you to kill me, the ultimate sacrifice! for the Ultimate Power!"

"Why come here and tell me this?" Anakin asks..... thoughts racing through his mind..... what can he do to defeat him.........

"Well I have plans for you my young apprentice, your destiny lies with me..... you are Darth Vader, always have been, always will..... unknowingly you helped me to created the Perfect Evil".......

Anakin is shocked..... he feels pain to his heart..... did he? did he really help created the Perfect Evil? His face shows his dismay....... Palpatine sees this and continues.......

"Yes Darth, this is your destiny......to rule by my side"

Anakin interrupts "if you are the Perfect being..... perfect strength, no limitations, why do you need me?"

Palpatine stops for a moment..... "good point" he laughs.....amused...... "besides me, you are the most powerful being in the galaxy....... although you cannot best me.... you could cause me problems........if you join me now..... your family will be spared....and a easy transition from the New Republic back to My Empire we will have"

"I will never join you, you know this!" Anakin claims.....

"But what of your wife? your two pathetic children?, live without them can you?"

"You will not touch them!" Anakin insists, his temper rising, his anger becoming uncontrollable.......

"Good........Vader.......... Good.......... I feel your anger, it gives you focus!"

Anakin is trembling with anger...... no one will harm his family! ever!..... he will have to think of a way..... but what?

Anakin slows his breathing once more..... "But what if I'm dead?..... you couldn't hurt my family then? and no one would stand in your way?" Anakin states.......

Palpatine's face shows surprise, then mockery...... "You would do that? kill yourself, let the galaxy be ruled by me and leave your family alone?"

"If it meant they were safe!.... I would do anything for them!" Anakin yells........

"Tsk Tsk.......I expected more from you Lord Vader" Palpatine is shaking his head........ "at least some of a fight"......."but you forget..... I have your wife!"

Anakin at just the mention of wife...... looses it again and quickly lurches for Palpatine.........

Not prepared this time...... Palpatine bearly has time to disappear....... he reappears behind Anakin again, cackling ...... "Your anger gives you quickness, power, Lord Vader"

Anakin's eyes grow dark, his eyebrows narrowing..... his breathing is labored..... he hates him........and he has Padme and is threatening his beloved twins, he stares at Palpatine, feeling the darkness slowly returning.....

Suddenly a saving grace,

"His name is Anakin Skywalker" Obi-wan states loudly.........

The door to Anakin's quarters is open. Obi-wan is standing there, Mace Windu is behind him as is Qui-gon and Yoda.........

Palpatine is shocked......."my my...... look at all the Jedi back from the dead"

"Chancellor Palpatine" Mace states......

Interrupting him "My name is Darth Sidious..... Lord Sidious to you"

"We will not honor you with any titles Palpatine" Obi-wan states...... as he is talking he motions for Anakin to come by his side, which Anakin ignores....... still too angry and upset....... he remains staring at Palpatine.......

"Anakin, you will come with us" Qui-gon insists......... "now is not the time".........

Not taking his eyes off Palpatine...... "He has my wife....... he's threatened my children!"

"Match for him you are not" Yoda states

"I don't care!" Anakin yells "he will not take her from me!"

Calmly walking towards him, Obi-wan places his hand on Anakin's arm... "Anakin, Padme is safe, trust me" Anakin finally breaks his stare from Palpatine..... he looks at Obi-wan.... confused...... Obi-wan smiles at his brother reassuringly....... "come" he states as he gently pulls Anakin out of the room.....

Anakin is shocked by this........ as is Palpatine...... "What!?!" Palpatine yells..... "impossible!"

"Well Chancellor.... while you were busy trying to convert young Skywalker here...... we were able to rescue her and the other captives" Mace states matter of factly...........

Palpatine composes himself and starts to cackle again....... "fine Master Jedi........... you've made a good move....... but this is not finished" he states to Mace, he then looks at Anakin....... "You will join me again Vader, I have foreseen it"

"Never!" Anakin yells back..........

Still cackling........ Palpatine disappears from the room.......... all the Jedi, start to look around themselves........ nothing........

"Gone he is" Yoda states..........

"why didn't he stay to fight?" Mace asks.........

"sure I'm not" Yoda states...... "plan he has....... plan that Skywalker he needs".........

"Where is Padme?" Anakin asks eagerly to Obi-wan......

Obi-wan smiles..... "main deck".......

Before he could even finish deck, Anakin was on his way..........

As soon as the main deck doors opened, overwhelming joy entered Anakin's heart.... "Padme!"

Padme runs to him....... they embrace for what seems like an eternity......

"Are you alright my love?" Anakin asks...... kissing her forehead.....

"Yes, yes I'm fine" Padme reassures smiling..... then concern on her face "the twins?"

"They are safe........ General Panaka added more Guards" Anakin reassures...... he smiles and kisses her on her lips........ telling her with this kiss the overwhelming and complete love he has for her.........

Chapter 12

Surprisingly Anakin, Padme and the "reborn" Jedi make it back to Corusant without an occurrence.......

Anakin and Padme go quickly to their home to check on the twins...... both Luke and Leia run to their parents...... unspeakable glee written on their faces........

"I can't stay long..... I'm needed at the Temple for council" Anakin states.........

Smiling and kissing her children...... Padme states "I know..... just stay a few minutes more"

Anakin who is kneeling is suddenly tackled by Luke and Leia...... he falls to the ground laughing, as are his children.... "ok, ok..... I give up...... you got me"........

At the Jedi Temple..... Yoda, Mace, Obi-wan and Qui-gon are sitting in the Council Chambers.... each deep in thought......

"Glad to see you all" Yoda states "but disturbing circumstances meet again we do"

"Yes.... imagine how surprised we are" Qui-gon states......

"Indeed, its not everyday you are brought back to life" Mace interjects.....

"But alive you are" Yoda states "here by will of The Force you are"

Nodding, Obi-wan adds "Well we know our purpose now is to defeat Palpatine, but how?"

"That remains unclear, he is more powerful.... able to appear and disappear anywhere he wants" Qui-gon states.

"But why does he want Anakin?" Obi wan asks.......

"He states that although I can't beat him, I can help him overthrow the New Republic" Anakin states as he walks in the Chamber and sits next to Obi-wan.......

"I think hidden reasons he has" Yoda states......

"I agree Master Yoda" Anakin says "or else he wouldn't have tried so hard to get me back with him"

"Family safe?" asks Yoda to Anakin.....

"Yes... thank you....... I think I have more Republic Guards at my home than across the galaxy" Anakin chides......

"We must protect them, your weakness they are" Yoda notes.......

"Sorry Master......I'm trying to control my feelings....... being a Jedi....is one thing, being a Jedi and a husband and father..... is very hard...... I try to disconnect the two, but I can't"

"This is new to us also Anakin" Qui-gon states..... "never before in the Jedi have they allowed marriage, allowed attachment..... but you and Padme...... you and Obi-wan have proven the needed for change...... the rules have changed.... and we too are trying to understand what the Force has in store for us..... for the galaxy...... for you"

Anakin smiles at Qui-gon....... "Its good to see you Master......... as you Master Windu"

"I am sorry for what occurred the last time we were together" Anakin states to Windu, lowering his head in shame.......

"I don't question the will of the Force Anakin......nor do I blame you for anything that occurred" Mace states "what's important is that we are all back together for a purpose and that purpose is to destroy once and for all............... Palpatine"

"Small in number we are, but The Force has willed it........ together we will bring peace and end this evil" Yoda states as he gets up..... "meditate we all must"

They all stand as Yoda leaves the chamber....... Obi-wan looks at Qui-gon..... "that's it?.....meditate?"

Qui-gon smiles......"yes Obi-wan..... meditate..... all we come apparent soon" he turns to leave....

"I hope" Anakin interjects.......

"Have faith Skywalker..... have faith" Mace states as he too leaves.......

Obi-wan and Anakin are left looking at each other....... "I don't have a clue, whats going on!" Anakin states with a smile on his face.......

"Neither do I brother....... neither do I" Obi-wan laughs as he pats Anakins back and they leave together.......

Chapter 13

Anakin lay awake in bed and glances over at his wife...... he laughs to himself as he sees Luke and Leia spralled out in between them..... how funny it was when he and Padme came to bed and found the twins already asleep there....... Padme thought it so beautiful.... she couldn't bear to take them back to their beds....... Anakin hated to admit it, but he agreed..... he missed them so......although he would have liked to spend quality time with his wife....... another missed opportunity.... there seemed to be alot of those lately, especially with two small children.......

He gathers his robe as he has on so many sleepless nights..... and walks out to the living room........ this time he's amazed to see how clean it is..... no toys..... no mess..... R2 and 3PO have been very handy, he also was glad to just have them back in their lives......

As if on cue..... "is there anything I can do for you Master Skywalker?" 3PO asks.... his eyes lighting up as he senses a presence........ R2 sees Anakin and comes up along Threepio.......

Smiling.... at his faithful droids....."no, no, I'm alright.... you both can power back down...... I need to be alone"

"Yes sir" Threepio states..... he and R2 go back to their resting spots and power down..........

Anakin is staring at the beautiful, busy skyline of Corusant...... when he hears someone coming..... no doubt Padme, she always knows when I can't sleep, he thinks........

To his surprise a wide eyed Luke comes to him..... his arms automatically go up above his head in a gesture for his father to pick him up..... which Anakin eagerly complies......

"What are you doing up?" Anakin asks as he lifts his beautiful son....

"Daddy worried" Luke states........

"I'm alright Luke" Anakin lies as he kisses his son's head.....

"No...... no........." Luke says shaking his finger at his father........ "Bad man back"

Anakin is shocked at how intuitive Luke is...... "he won't hurt you Luke, I promise"

"Not me....Daddy" Luke states as his bottom lip trembles and he silently starts to cry, he lays his head on his father's shoulder and hugs him tightly around his neck.....

Anakin is heart broken..... Luke is already having visions? He prays its not so........ he sits down with his son and rocks him gently...... he then places his hand on Luke's head........ go to sleep my son...... all will be fine........... he wills through the Force........ Luke is soon asleep and Anakin carries him to the bedroom......

Leia and her mother are fast asleep...... Leia's feet are at Padme's head....... Anakin laughs...........he puts Luke down and then turns Leia around.........but even in her sleep she's ornery..... as quickly as he placed her "right way up" in bed.... she turns sideways, her head on her mother's stomach and her feet on Luke.....Anakin shakes his head, smiling........He remains at the side of the bed admiring all of them....... he gently kisses each of them on their head...... still standing beside them he swears to himself that no harm will come to them...... even if he HAS to sacrafice himself..... he thinks...... he turns and returns to the living room..... sits down and meditates..........

The next morning...... the happy family is sitting having breakfast..... Threepio is trying to wipe Leia's sticky face...... Luke is laughing at the site..... and decides to throw some pancakes at Threepio's head.......

Anakin is staring at his beautiful wife when his son launches his attack......"Whoa.... little man...... be nice......" he states as he grabs his son's hands........ Luke giggles "Ugh..... he's sticky" Anakin states as he tries to get all the syrup off of his own hands....... Padme tries not to laugh.........

Anakin is still attempting to get un sticky.... when Padme comes to his side with a wet wash cloth and takes her husbands hands..... Anakin surrenders to her and again starts to stare at her......... Padme blushes.....
"Stop looking at me like that Ani" she states.....

"Sorry Mi-lady".... Anakin chides....."I just am so in love with my wife"

Luke and Leia look at each other and smile..... loving the banter between their mother and father.......

"I love you" she states as she kisses Anakin's cheek...... Luke and Leia start to giggle..... "and I love you two..... even when your messy" she teases..... the twins.......

A call on the comlink breaks them all out of the carefree moment...... Anakin's face relays his apologies as he gets up to answer it........he leaves the room....... Padme takes over for C3PO and Leia complies with her mother...... not giving her the hard time she was giving the funny gold droid..........

"Yes Master?" Anakin asks Obi-wan.......

"Anakin......your needed at the temple....how soon can you be there?" Obi-wan asks.......

"I'll be there in 10 minutes" Anakin states.......

"See you then, Obi-wan out"..........

Padme is standing in the doorway, when Anakin turns around....... concern on her face....."be careful Anakin" is all she says as she runs into his arms and hugs him tightly........

"No harm will come to you or the twins..... I promise" Anakin states......

"We need you Anakin...... you need to be extra careful..... I don't think we could survive without you" Padme admits.....

"Nonsense!" Anakin states as he pull Padme from their embrace to look at her in the face.........."All that matters is you and the children, I will do what I have to for your safety"

"I know Ani.... that's why I'm afraid........ don't think you can sacrafice yourself and everything, everyone will be alright....... its not that simple" Padme states......

"What do you mean" Anakin states, surprised at his wife...... he walks away from his wife, so she can't see his expressions on his face......

"I don't know how... but I sense what you feel at times..... and I know you've been thinking if you weren't here, none of us would be in danger......"

"You are force sensitive..... in time possibly it will get stronger.... maybe its since the children were born, I don't know..... but you are sensitive"

"I know.....I don't like it..... but then I do..... I know when the children are hurt or need something.... then its wonderful..... but when you are afraid, hurt, angry......and I can't help you, then it is terrible" Padme admits

"The good comes with the bad.... I'm afraid" Anakin states, again taking his wife into his arms......."you will be fine...... and I won't sacrafice myself that easily..... it was just a thought...... a quick way to end it...... but I know now, it wouldn't end there........so no worries my love........ I'll be careful...... for the twins and for you" Anakin states as he kisses his wife passionately......

"Thank you Anakin..... I love you so much!....... so much it hurts" Padme says looking into her husbands eyes.......

"I know how you feel my love..... I know" Anakin states..... he quickly kisses her, grabs his light saber and is out the door.....

Padme stares at the closed door...... she is brought back to reality by hearing a frustrated Threepio yell "Come back you two......you haven't finished your milk"..... turning around, she sees her "angels" running away from Threepio.....

Chapter 14

Anakin arrives at the Temple to see Obi-wan, Qui-gon, Mace and Yoda reviewing intel on the hologram.

Removing the hologram, Obi-wan greets Anakin, "Good morning brother, sorry you had to leave your family so soon"

"I understand Master"......Anakin states as he sits down.....

"Reports we have on Empire loyalists and these Dark Jedi" Yoda states....

Nodding "Yes is appears they have a base and have been planing an attempt to regain power to the Empire for months".....Mace states

Obi-wan continues "They have been unsuccessful, unorganized, until recently since Palpatine has resurfaced, so to speak"

"And I'm sure we will here from them soon, since their plan to throw the government into chaos, failed" Qui-gon states.......

"If we know where their base is, why not attack it?" asks Anakin.......

"It would seem the logical thing to do" Obi-wan observes.......

"Almost too simple" Mace adds.....

"We must go into the archives and see what we can find on the Sith'ari, only then can we surmise how to defeat Palpatine" Qui-gon states.....

"Agreed.......Master Skywalker will stay here and search the Jedi Archives, rest will go attack the Empire Base" Yoda states.....

"You will need me, Master Yoda" Anakin insists......

"True, true.... but better served you are here" Yoda states as he walks over to Anakin......"Unknown why Sidious wants you...... too important you are, stay here close to family, till figure all out we do"

Anakin knows it would be useless to argue....... plus he would be home and could keep an eye on his family as he researched the archives..... maybe even Padme would help, she loves that kind of stuff...... "Yes Master..... I will do what you ask of me"

As the Jedi Masters stand and leave..... Anakin lulls behind....... all are walking and talking like the good ole days..... Obi-wan observes Anakin....... he slows down and waits for him.......

"What's bothering you Anakin?" Obi-wan asks........

Deep in thought.... Anakin didn't see Obi-wan waiting for him....."What? oh nothing"

"I know you want to go on this mission Anakin, but what you will be doing IS just as important" Obi-wan states........

"I know..... part of me wants to be out there fighting like before, but another part is glad I won't be in danger and here with my family, Anakin admits......

"Your priorities have changed Anakin, you are a Jedi, but mainly you are a Father and husband.......they are your first priority.... as they should be" Obi-wan states as he puts his arm around his former Padawan.

"Its difficult at times Obi-wan, I know that staying here will help, but I can't help but think of you and the other Masters needing my help"

"It will all work out Anakin, there is a plan in motion and only The Force knows the outcome..... we must give in to that will and let it be, no matter what the outcome" Obi-wan looks away from Anakin at his last comment.....

"What do you mean, no matter what the outcome?" Anakin asks.......

"Anakin from what I've been told and foreseen.... The Force has a plan for all of us...... and some things you might not like" Obi-wan admits...

"Like what?" Anakin asks.......

"Let's just say after all is said and done and we are able to defeat Palpatine, once and for all, myself, Mace and Qui-gon will probably not stay"

"What!?!, how can The Force do that? Bring you back for a "job" and then when its done, back you go being dead?"

"Become one with The Force is a nicer way of saying it Anakin" Obi-wan chides.......

"This isn't funny Obi-wan, I won't loose you again"

"You don't have much of a say I'm afraid" Obi-wan states.......

"I don't understand all that is going on...... I know I should, but I don't" Anakin states

"We are all learning as we go my brother..... patience" Obi-wan smiles at his brother......again puts his arm around him.....

Anakin's face is somber...... Obi-wan continues with his arm around him to jar Anakin until he finally smiles also.....

"That's better" Obi-wan states as they leave the temple.

Anakin and Obi-wan spent a good part of the day in the Jedi Archives, Obi-wan had alot of experience in the archives and he showed Anakin the most productive ways to conduct research....... "I can't believe all the information that is stored here" Anakin observes.....

"I know, it can be intimidating at times..... but you'll do fine" Obi-wan assures ...........

"Well I think you have the hang of where to start, etc., and if you hurry you can make it home for dinner with your family" Obi-wan states........"Then tomorrow when we leave, you can start your research"

Nodding and looking at the numerous archives....."Yes I think I got it...... and if you and the Masters are not leaving until tomorrow, I insist you come home with me for dinner........I know you have seen my children, but I would like for you to meet them" Anakin states......

"I would like that" Obi-wan states.......

Chapter 15

Anakin and Obi-wan enter the apartment and are greeted by C3P0, "Master Skywalker, so glad your home!" ..... then he turns to Obi-wan.... "Master Kenobi?, um.... but..... how...... I mean aren't you?......."

Anakin puts his hand over C3PO's mouth, laughing as they pass him..... R2 beeps some pleasantries at Obi-wan who replies "well thank you my little friend".....

As they enter the living room, they see Padme, she is dressed simply, still as beautiful, but even more so.... glowing... she smiles at her husband, then she looks at her husbands guest.... shock, disbelief, then.... acceptance and then utter glee flow on her face....... she runs to Obi-Wan and he opens his arms to greet her...... he picks her up and spins her..... both smiling at each other.

Anakin is overwhelmed at the site.... the two people who are so important to him, standing there hugging each other....... then he sees his little ones, the two most important to him.........Luke and Leia are smiling at the site..... confused, at this stranger, but also sensing that somehow they know him.

Luke and Leia slowly approach the laughing pair, Leia stops at her father and grabs his leg, there she stays to observe..... Luke, being more daring continues to his mother and the stranger. He never takes his eyes from Obi-wan........

Obi-wan seeing the boy approach breaks the embrace and pleasantries, his face is softer, still smiling, he bends down to one knee to the blonde hair, blue eyed boy......

"Well this must be Luke" Obi-wan states, smiling, he observes every inch of Luke.....he feels the force is strong with this boy..... he pats his head..... "my how you look like your father"

Luke likes this man, senses the force in him and knows he is good...... he senses the connection between this man and his father, senses the love his father has for this man...... instinctively he reaches up and hugs Obi-wan around the neck.

Obi-wan wasn't expecting the show of affection, but quickly returns the hug..... "Oh my.... thank you Luke" he laughs...... Padme and Anakin, side by side now, enjoy the site...... Leia still not as open as her brother is still attached to her father's leg.....

Obi-wan smiles the dark haired girl, "and you must be Leia", he states as he slowly raises his hand and gestures to her to come to him......

Leia looks up at Anakin...."Its ok baby" Anakin states..... Leia lets go but still stands there a second.

She watches her brother who is playing with Obi-wan's beard, and grabbing at his light saber.... Obi-wan laughs...."oh no you can't play with that, I'm sure you'll build one when your ready with your father"......

As Obi-wan and Luke are conversing, Leia is slowly creeping her way over....... .Obi-wan sees this and puts his hand out to her again, this time she takes it. "Well how do you do little Leia..... my how beautiful you are...... just like your mother"...... hearing this Leia smiles, and she too gives Obi-wan a hug..... Luke not wanting to be left out also puts his little arms around Obi-wan........

His eyes glistening, still tight in the embrace of the twins..... Obi-wan looks to Anakin..... "you are truly blessed my brother"

"I know" Anakin states as he smiles, then looks at his loving wife, who looks up at him, total and complete love in their eyes, they share a small kiss and embrace...... when they are all interrupted by C3PO.

"Time for dinner....... and I do say, that I worked especially hard on tonights meal, although its not the proper use of my skills.... interrupting him, "Thank you C3PO" Anakin says a bit loud and firm.

The food gone, their stomachs full, they all sit around the table, Obi-wan is absorbed by the twins...... he leans over to Anakin.... "You know how strong they are in the force?"

"Yes I feel it.... especially Luke" Anakin states.

"Will you train them? as Jedi?" Obi-wan asks.......

"With all the changes within the Order, I'm not sure, presently, there are few of us, and when we have come across force sensitives, their parents are against letting them leave without them. We've changed alot of the ways, letting Jedi marry and have families, but Yoda still feels that a youngling can only train without any distractions.... he feels a family or parents will interfere with their training...." Anakin states

"Do you agree?" Obi-wan asks.....

"No, no I don't, what is the difference if a Jedi has a family when he's older or young?..... I think a family could give security and balance to a Padawan"

"Well what will you do?" Obi-wan asks.....

"It is not easy re building the Order, I'm sure in time, Yoda will see my point, I mean he's stubborn, but he's also very bright, we will be able to get alot more younglings if we allow their families to accompany them" Anakin states......

"I agree...... Anakin you are the ideal person to rebuild this Order, I have total confidence in you" Obi-wan states as he pats Anakin on the shoulder.

Anakin smiles..... "I could use your help"

Obi-wan stands up "I'm afraid I have no say in the matter..... and its getting late I must get some rest for tomorrow"

At hearing this Anakin frowns..... he doesn't want his brother to leave.

"I'm sorry we didn't get to visit longer" Padme states as she stands and walks over to Obi-wan..... "I've missed you, I hope to see you again soon" She kisses him lightly on the cheek.

Obi-wan smiles, "I would like that........ goodbye Luke, Leia, it was an honor to meet you", he states as he kisses each one on top of their heads..... the twins smile at him and wave.

Anakin is standing and waiting to walk Obi-wan out..... "I'll be back soon, I will walk with my master for awhile" he states to Padme, she nods her head, she sees the sadness in her husband, she wishes there was more she could do for him. Anakin had briefly explained how Obi-wan was alive again, that the Force needed him, Qui-gon and Mace to destroy Palpatine, who also had resurfaced....... she shudders at the thought....... she watches as Anakin and Obi-wan leave......

Obi-wan and Anakin walk in silence for awhile, both admiring the brilliant lights of Corusant. Anakin finally speaks "Do you think we will finally defeat him?"

"Yes" Obi-wan states not hesitating, very confident.

"How can you be so sure?" Anakin asks.....

"I trust the Force, Anakin" is all Obi-wan replies......

Anakin dwells on his answer and they walk again, both silent, just enjoying each other's company.......

"Well, here is my apartment, thank you for walking with me" Obi-wan states....

"Sure" Anakin states, looking down, not wanting to say goodbye to his brother........

Obi-wan senses this... "No good-byes for now, Anakin..... May the Force be with you"

Anakin feels some relief in this, he raises his head and smiles at Obi-wan "May the Force be with you, Master"

With that Obi-wan turns and leaves up his stairs, Anakin turns for the walk home...... a strong wind starts to blow and the air is cool and crisp.... Anakin shudders a little as he draws his robes closer around his neck, hopefully the change in the weather is not ominous of the future.

Chapter 16

Anakin arrives home, not realizing how late it was....... he silently checks on the twins who are sleeping soundly, he gently pulls up the covers on Leia.... who turns and hugs her wookie doll tighter.... Anakin smiles..... Luke is on his belly..... his knees tucked under him, leaving his bottom up in the air..... Anakin laughs.... how does he sleep like that?

He enters his bedroom just as quiet..... takes off his robes and slips on his sleep pants..... he slides into bed trying very hard not to disturb Padme......

"No use, I'm up" she says....... turning over and instinctively curling up next to Anakin who puts his arm around her.... she nuzzles into his chest......

"Did I wake you?"

"No, I don't sleep well when your not next to me"

"Neither do I, my love....." Anakin states kissing her on the head.... enjoying the smell of her hair.

"Anakin?"

"Yes my love"

"Do you ever think about having more children?" she asks and props herself up on her elbow to look at him.

Anakin smiles....."honestly...... no....... I've just been enjoying Luke and Leia so much, I haven't thought of it......... why? have you?"

"Well yes, silly, why would I be asking you?" she teases........

Anakin smiles, leans over to her, he stares at her, her face barely lit by the busy night sky.....their lips are almost touching..... Padme sighs...... it seems like an eternity but he finally kisses her. She falls onto her back and he willingly lays on top of her..... he senses something? He stops kissing her and looks at her.....

"Anakin, whats wrong?"

He suddenly is off of her and standing at the side of the bed..... staring at her.........

"What is it?"...........

no reply....... Padme crawls to the edge of the bed, gets on her knees and is right in front of him.... Anakin is deep in thought.....he starts to smile, giggle......

"ANAKIN?" Padme pleads.....

"Your pregnant!..... that's why you asked me........ he laughs

"What?..... no.... I mean maybe.........I feel it....... I think so....... I mean there's a chance I could be".......

"YOU ARE! I sense it! I know it...... Anakin practically yells and grabs her off the bed and twirls her around........ "how did I not sense this sooner!"

Padme is laughing and kissing his neck.... her suspicions confirmed by her husband, never doubting his ability....... "I was hoping!, Oh Anakin! another baby!"

He stops their spinning and effortlessly is still holding her off the floor, they are eye to eye just staring at each other.... the love overwhelming....

Anakins eyes start to well up.....as he gently puts her down......... his face suddenly serious, he turns his head.....

"Anakin?" Padme asks, concern in her voice and face, placing her hand to his shoulder......

Looking back into her beautiful eyes..... he confesses "I remember how I wasn't there for Luke and Leia's birth, how I let you and them down.... what I missed out on..........."

"Don't.... Anakin.....your here now is what is important, Luke and Leia adore you.............. and you WILL be here for this baby's birth" she reassures.

Smiling and knowing she is right he kisses her and picks her up again.... "Your right...... now where were we?" he asks starting to kiss her neck......

He places her on the bed and she pulls him to her..... "I think right about here"........... and kisses him passionately and eagerly.... he forgets all his negative thoughts about the past and his present worries about the new baby and for this night they are lost in each others arms and their love.

Chapter 17

Morning comes all too quickly..... hearing the children playing, Anakin gets up, stretches and notices that Padme isn't there...... he wanders into the kitchen and finds his loving family busy with their morning routine....... Padme sees her husband "good morning, sleepy head"

"Morning.....what time is it?" Anakin asks.....

"Its precisely 8:37"....... C3PO chides in.

"I need to get to the Temple" Anakin states as he quickly grabs something to eat and hurries to go get dressed.

In no time he's dressed and kissing Padme and the children good bye and on his way to the Temple.

He arrives at the Temple and it seems empty, even with the few Padawans that were there. He knows that Obi-wan, Yoda, Mace and Qui-gon Jinn were gone, having left much earlier.

The Padawans were self studying in one of the great halls, hearing his footsteps, they all looked up, smiled and waved to Master Skywalker.... Anakin smiles and waves back..... ..... he enters the archives, sits himself down, gets comfortable and starts his research.

An aching rumble came from Anakin's stomach....... so in depth in his research, he worked right through lunch and to his dismay it was almost dinner time. Finally pulling himself away from the computer screen he was finally able to think of something other than the Sith...... he thought of last night and this brought a smile to his face..... another baby..... how wonderful..... and he will be there for everything this time.... damn Palpatine for making him miss Luke and Leia's birth and the first year of their lives.......

Standing up and stretching Anakin decided he would stop now and go home, he was anxious to see Padme...... plus he was at a decent stopping point.... he gathered his robe and headed home.

During his short ride home, in his speeder, his thoughts returned to his research. He was amazed at the mass amount of data on the Sith and that the Jedi were never taught any of it...... Anakin knew from today's research that the Jedi would have to have some knowledge of the dark side..... they need to know the enemy..... the dark side clouded so much, even to Yoda, when he turned.....

He arrived home and was greeted by his children..... Luke and Leia were in a foot race to see who could run to their father the fastest..... Luke got to him first and Leia was very unhappy with him......

"Don't worry Leia, you and Luke are twins, but you are different, each of you is special, where one of you is weak the other will be strong...."

Leia smiled at her father.... she was so bright...... she then stuck her tongue out at her brother..... as if saying... so there!..... Luke just giggled at her.... Anakin smiled and picked them both up and carried them into the apartment.

"So they were competing again?" Padme said......

"Yes my dear, sensing them are you?" Anakin asked......

"Sometimes..... I can't control it, I can't feel them when I want..... but at the most unexpected times, I do"

Anakin had placed the twins down and was walking towards her as she was talking....... Padme was cooking and Anakin hugged her from behind..... "interesting" he said.....

"I sense you too Anakin......not as strong as I sense the children though"

"I better watch out then" he teased.... kissing her on the neck......

Pushing him away playfully, "stop it...... find out anything useful today?"

"Some..... there is so much information out there Padme, I would go in one direction and from there I could go in five different directions...... it was a little overwhelming at times....."

"Maybe I could help you, I'm quite good on the Galaxnet"

"Maybe" Anakin said..... he was sensing something.... "I'll be right back" he said as he headed out the door..... he went outside on the balcony over looking Corusant..... he placed his arms behind him, spread his legs a little and closed his eyes and concentrated.......

Luke and Leia appeared at the glass and watched their father, they had seen him do this many times..... and somehow knew to leave him alone.........

Hazy images....... voices....... light sabers...... someone screaming "NO!!!!!!" anger, hatred...... death..........

Anakin's eyes flew open, his empty stomach no longer hungry but felt sick..... he knew Obi-wan was in danger.... it was his voice screaming no....... "damn I should be there!"

Torn and conflicted, Anakin apologized to Padme said he had to go back to the Temple...... seeing the concern and urgency on his face, Padme didn't question him....... he was gone in an instant.......

Chapter 18

Gnawing on some bread he found at the temple, Anakin's shoulders are slumped, like a sign of defeat and hopelessness..... he starts to shake his head.....

"I need to contact Obi-wan" Anakin states to no one in particular....... trying for over an hour, he slams his fist on the comlink..... nothing...... "where are you?" he stands and heads for Obi-wan's quarters...... he sits there and meditates...........again he hears the voices...... fighting..... screaming...... death.... hatred...... he snaps out of his meditation and realizes how late it is.... still pretty hungry and very weary........

Quietly Anakin returns to his home...... he goes to Luke and Leia's room and leans on the door frame just watching his beloved children...... Luke is again upside down on his bed...... Leia is on her back, her wookie doll on her stomach..... what a site...... if not for Padme and the children, he would be off now searching for his brothers...... somewhere they were fighting evil and he should be there...... as Luke stirs.... Anakin smiles....... he turns and goes to his bedroom, his lovely wife sleeping on her side as always...... he slips into bed not thinking he would be able to sleep, but sleep comes and is welcome, but the nightmare that follows isn't.......

Dark Jedi, faceless..... just blackness under their hoods, emptiness as are their souls. Fighting, strong, defeating his brothers. Retreating..... he hears a call for help..... he hears his name.... "Anakin, help us"........ they are cornered, the red blades of the dark jedi illuminating their faces...... they raise their sabers and go to strike the fallen Jedi, their hands covering their faces.....

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Anakin screams in his dream and suddenly he is awake....... he looks around, too familiar, their bed, their room, Padme sleeping on her side, her back to him......... Anakin gets out of bed...... walks to the Kitchen..... stomach growling....... he grabs anything he can find and sits there, shoveling in the food, eyes set, deep in thought........I can't let this happen again, these dreams like the ones I had of Padme, I was irrational, desperate and made the wrong decisions..... could these nightmares be Palpatine? Did he plant the dreams last time to aid my joining the dark side? Are they real?

So many questions in Anakins mind...... but at least this time he was aware of the possibility it was Palpatine..... he must get back to the archives and do more research..... the answer was there, he just new it....

Chapter 19

Padme had insisted on going with Anakin to the archives..... to his dismay she was faster at it than Obi-wan. He had given up earlier in the day and let her do her work, he sat there admiring her, deep in thought....

"Anakin did you hear me?" Padme asked...... "No sorry, just admiring the view" Anakin teased..... "Listen to this... this is in more detail than what Yoda told you"

"Sometime during the early history of the Sith Empire, the coming of the Sith'ari the prophesied saviour of the Sith Order, was foretold. The Sith'ari was a perfect being who would rise to power and bring balance to the Force. According to prophecy, the Sith'ari would rise up and destroy the Sith' BUT in the process would return to lead the Sith and make them stronger than ever before"

Anakin looked at Padme as she looked at him. Anakin coming to a conclusion he didn't want to..... "Do you think I'm this Sith'ari?"

"Well you did destroy the Sith and Bring Balance to the Force" Padme stated unwillingly....... "And you told me that Palpatine would never let you be whole because he was afraid you would become this Sith'ari"

"Fine, fine, I killed the Sith and Brought balance, but in no way would I ever lead them again, I still think the Sith'ari is Palpatine, look here, as he pointed to the monitor.... "its says "But in the process would return to lead the Sith and make them stronger than ever".

Padme just looked at Anakin, nodding, still thinking......

Anakin continued his thinking out loud "So no matter what Palpatine said that the Sith was no more.... I believe there are still Sith as in those Dark Jedi and he wants me again for my Sith powers"

"Palpatine has to be the Sith'ari not me, like he said he "let" himself be killed, therein killing the Sith and brining balance, I was just the tool so to speak..... I'm the chosen one of Jedi Prophecy, I'm not in any Sith prophecy"..... Anakin went on, trying to convince himself as well as Padme.

Padme was looking at the monitor, "Anakin look here, there is a Sith Philosophy" shaking her head..... she went on to read it out loud to Anakin:

"Oh Anakin, I can see how he twisted your love and concern for me and the babies...... everything in your past, led you to that moment, I am so sorry" Padme stated as she stood up and hugged her husband.

"No Padme, I'm sorry, I made that fateful choice, a mistake, I'll never make again" he assured her.

"I know Anakin, I trust you with our lives" Padme then stood on her tip toes to kiss her husband, which unexpectedly turned into a long urgent kiss.... all the stress of the day had gotten to both of them......

Their embrace broken, they continued to look at each other, when a blinking cursor on the monitor caught Anakins attention, "what is that".

Padme sitting back down, "Might be more information, I put out alot of searches this morning" hitting a button numerous pages were down loaded.... "wow that's alot of information" the first one she clicked on was a quote from Darth Bane........"Two there should be, No more, no less. One to embody power, the other to crave it"

"Sound familiar" Anakin said sarcastically. Padme clicked on other files, scanning them. "There's no way I can read all of this tonight, I'll encode it on a disc and take it home to review" Padme said.

"Sounds good, I feel useless, here" Anakin said.

"Anakin, don't feel that way" Padme insisted.....

"No, no, not useless here, but here on Corusant..... I had a terrible dream last night Padme of Obi-wan and the others.... they were in danger and calling for me to help...... just like the dream I had of you in child birth..... very haunting and disturbing"

"What are you going to do" Padme asked.....

"I'm not sure, but no rush decisions or actions, I need to be careful, Palpatine could be behind this" Anakin stated as he took Padme's hand as they started to walk home.

"Anakin do you think Palpatine was behind your nightmares about me? I mean to trick you into thinking I would die?" Padme asked.

"More and more I think yes, Palpatine told me only the Dark Side could save loved ones from death, he knew I would turn to save you...... and when I thought I had killed you..... I snapped" Anakin admitted.

"This is nice, not your snapping or anything, I mean we never talk about the past and I think we should, nothing should go unsaid between us, I'm your wife and I want to know everything, even the terrible parts..... it makes me understand you more, but especially it makes me see why you turned....... my poor Ani" Padme said and smiled at him, Anakin returned the smile and they continued to walk home.
