Jacen Solo: New Lord Of The Sith.

Today, as I was briefly checking out any SW Blogs about Anakin & Padmé, the following update got my attention:

Intrigued, I clicked on the given link, and here's what I've fallen across next:

It left me thunderstruck when I've read this line:

With the galaxy once again approaching the precipice of war, Jacen sees a solution that will bring order to the chaos. That solution requires him to fully embrace the dark side, become corrupted by its influence, and emerge as the newest Dark Lord of the Sith.

And then, this one:

What's in a name? A great deal, indeed, for those who choose to take that final, fateful step and join the dark side. Each Dark Lord of the Sith must leave behind their old identity -- and old name -- in order to assume a moniker befitting their fearsome new status. As it was for Darth Bane, Darth Sidious, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, and a long line of dark disciples before them...so it is now, for Jacen Solo. But what name shall he take to seal his allegiance to the dark side? How shall he be hailed by those who honor, respect, and fear him?

Honestly, I thought we'd been ridden of the Skywalker family's dreadful experience with the Dark Side once and for all, with Anakin's whereabouts according to what he'd endured himself. And Luke didn't allowed him to get turn to it, too aware of the harm it has done to his own father, and therefore, Jacen's great-father. Frankly, when you're aware of what one of your family member endured and lost due to the Dark Side's seductive power, you'd at least get the kid think twice, no?

But apparently, they want the Dark Side's appeal to be the Skywalker family's Curse, for otherwise, they wouldn't make Jacen take this awful decision.

Btw, I do the polls every Friday when I got check out the SW Blogs entries. I'll cast my vote, anyway, even if I don't approve that much such idea.

All my apologies for the rambling, but with Anakin's experience of the Dark Side reflecting my own, enough is enough!

What I mean is, I'd like your opinion on it, now. Thank you.

I have never really been well-informed of the Jedi Order or happenings involving the characters after ROTJ. But this, I happen to find ridiculous!
What a discovery! You'd think, yes, that some doubt and secind thoughts would be involved in this... considering the past and all.

That's a new one! I agree with Arie, I never liked the post ROTJ EU either!

I don't know. If it's well written, it might be interesting to see how Jacen handles the Dark Side. I don't know much about this story line, but maybe he believes it's the only way. If that is so, then he should ultimately fail because the dark side has never given up anyone, except for Anakin. Jacen would have to sacrifice himself, I believe, to come back to the light.

Has anyone read Karen Traviss' books? Is she a good writer?
