[glow=red,2,300]Hey, i'm wondering if anyone has ever wanted to change a part in any of the SW movies and why. If I could change a part I would change Anakin going to the darkside and Padme dieing. My Reason: I think that they turned the Whole saga around into a new meaning. It was sad seeing their love for each gone. Leave your choice![/glow]  |

i wouldn't change anything! i love the saga as it is, because if the saga was different maybe i wouldn't love it as much as i do, so i woudn't change it! |

Neither would I change anything, for otherwise, I never would have linked the emotional anger trial I've been through with Anakin's. Stating, our stories wouldn't be similar for that fact, they would be meaningless, then.

I would change one thing.... that when Anakin dies, he sees Padme along with Yoda, Obi won ..... to me it makes it even happier, that his sacrafice for her still doesn't "punish" him..... to me that would be perfection........ have Anakin smile at Luke with Yoda and Obi, then Yoda and Obi fade, Anakin remains to then see a light and Padme walks towards him...... they embrace, he twirlls her around, they kiss and then hand in hand they walk into the force.......

I've been quite touched to read this remark coming from you, PadméSkywalker, and let me explain why:
In theory, Anakin's already been punished before, when he had mistakingly turned to the Dark Side, resulting with the consequences we all know of. Stating, he's found his own punishment, when he discovered what in reality the Dark Side's all about, an ugly reality. A living Hell, so to speak. That it wasn't at all what he'd been promised. But who's not been lured by false promises? I can rely to this once more, having gone through the same. For when I came back to the Good Side, I noticed I had inheritated the abilty to spot anyone making false promises, exactly in the very same purpose Palpatine to get to Anakin.
You know, when I was younger, when I first saw this scene, I thought: "The Spirit of his wife isn't far. She's waiting." And each time I see Luke smiling back at them, I sees him smiling to his mother's Spirit whom joined the trio...For into the Other Side, we're all reunited with our Beloved Ones...

I would also want to change the part when Anakin turned to the dark side and Padme dying. It was to sad, to see their love they once had disppearing like that, being lost.
And I would also change the part at the end of Return of the Jedi as well. Padme should have been there. Without her, it makes you wonder if Anakin would ever be reunited with Padme, and if she forgave him. Having Anakin and Padme together, watching over their children, would be a beautiful ending to the Saga. You would know that Anakin and Padme are together and forever happy.

Not in my case, I stopped wondering so, having gone through the same. As far as Padmé's forgiveness goes, hasn't she already done so as she's passed away, in this statement:
"There's good in him, I know..."
The very same one Luke will echo to, a few years later, first with Obi-Wan, and then with Anakin himself. For otherwise, Anakin would never have been led to say, as passing away at his turn:
"You were right, you were right about me..."
Not only addressing to his son, but to his wife's Spirit, that's what I'm thinking took place, then.

Obviously I'd like to change not only a part, but lots of things, or I wouldn't have written stories on this site! Unfortunately, I suppose I would have to go with whatever would be in agreement with the OT. But this would still be possible if:
1. Anakin was shown reunited with Padme after his death
2. Padme's death was much better explained so it didn't seem she simply expired of a broken heart. Her original character was much too strong for that. Either have her really die in childbirth as he feared (which could have happened with or without his Force-choking her - THIS should have been the ambiguous part - did he cause it or did he not?), or explain some other reason for her death (Sidious siphoning off her life force to give to Vader, for instance). Or show that her death was faked and then fast-forward a couple of years to where Sidious finds and kills her (Vader never knows about it) - that would make the story COMPLETELY in agreement with the OT.

Only 5 years into the darkness and he still had time to be a husband to Padme and father to Luke and Leia.
They were still young.
The damage was not so deep to the galaxy .
