Chapter 1
In the old days, Courscant's nightlife was glamerous and colourful bursting with people of all ages and class but it had suddenly come to a stop and was now dark, grey and unfulfilled. Drunken dancers and musicans lined the streets, too depressed to act.
Alone in a nearby hotel, huddled on his bed, clutching an empty bottle was a man. Once so young and full of ideas, now a broken man because he had been in love for the first time and she was gone. This is his story and his love.
The Moulin Rouge. A nightclub. A Dance hall ruled over by Sio Bibble-where the rich and the powerful could play with the most beautiful creatures of the underworld. The most beautiful of all this, was the woman i loved-Padme and she was the star.
I firsst came to Courscant 1 year ago.....
The foggy mist cleared around the spaceport and Anakin saw the city for what it was and he was pleased. Amazed at the people and music that ringed throughout the streets. It was not as his father had told him-'a city of sin' The entertainment distict was his stop and was perfect for where he could live a a penniless existence and write about everything he believed in-love. But there was only one problem he'd never been in love!

Luckily right at the moment an unconscious Jedi fell through my roof as Anakin jumped back and he looked at the figure on his table, and then the hole in his roof from where he had fallen-He was quickly joined by another Jedi dressed as -and he saw the door open and looked down to see a very small Jedi who looked at him, “How do you do?” he asked, “My name is Yoda, yes it is” he told him as he moved over to his friend on the table, “I am terribly sorry about this. He is just upstairs rehearsing a play” he told him, “What?” Anakin asked-A play something very modern called ‘Spectator, Spectator” and unfortunaly the unconscious Jedi suffered from a condition called Narcoeplisic- “Perfectly fine one moment and then suddenly unconscious the next” he laughed as Anakin looked at the Jedi again, very stunned at what was happening when they heard voices above and looked up to see three more looked down, “How is he?” one asked as he sighed, “Oh brilliant, now the unconscious Jedi is unconscious and the play will not be ready to present tomorrow” he told them, “Yoda, I still need to write the music more” another told him, sounding worried as Yoda replied, “Fine someone to read the part we will” as the first asked, “Well where in heavens are we going to find someone to read the role of a young Naboo Shaak Herder” as Yoda looked over to Anakin who looked back up at them, too stunned to speak at what was happening-Before I knew it, I was upstairs standing in for the unconscious Jedi.

[note: words in purple are the songs]
Anakin stood on a ladder wishing the play unfold in front of him and it was a disaster as Yoda was knocking everything over and the music was all over and all this commotion was driving Mace crazy, “Stop, stop. This eccentric noise is drowning out my work!” he exclaimed, moving over to the musician, “Could we please just stick to a little more decorative tune” he added. There seemed to be an artistic difference to Mace’s lyrics to the satire of the play. “I don’t think a noun would say anything about a hill” another told the group as someone else spoke up “What he sings ‘the hills are vital with colour?” as they argued amongst themselves, the unconscious Jedi had woken up and started yelling ideas but then was knocked back out onto the bed as Anakin tried to voice in his ideas but was overheard by the commotion until he used his voice into singing “The Hills are alive with the sound of music” causing everyone to stop and listen at what had just happened, the unconscious Jedi spun up, “Ah, the hills are alive with the song of music. I love it!” he exclaimed as Anakin breathed a sigh of relief as another sung it “The Hills are alive with the sound of music” before the musician turned around and told him “It fits perfectly” as Anakin smiled and went on, “With songs they have sung, for a thousands years” as everyone cheered and Anakin smiled more. Yoda stepped forward, “Mace, you two should write the show together” he told him as he asked “I beg your pardon?”. But Yoda’s suggestion that Mace and I write the show together, was not what Mace wanted to hear. “Goodbye!” he yelled, slamming the door behind him as Yoda only smiled and held up a drink, “Here’s to your first job in Courscant” he told him. “The hill are alive with the sound of music, with Anakin we could create a play that we’ve always wanted” Yoda told them as another pointed out “But how do we convince Bibble?” as they looked at Anakin, who gave a nervous smile while he was trying to listen to them. But Yoda had a plan. “Padme” he replied. Padme. They would dress me in the Jedi’s best suit and introduce me to Padme who would listen to my poetry and would be astounded and assist to Bibble that I write ‘Spectacular Spectacular’. The one problem was I kept hearing my father’s voice in my head: “You’ll end up wasting your life in the Moulin Rouge with a Can Can dancer” Anakin quickly tried to make a break for it, telling them “I can’t write the show for the Moulin Rouge” as they all crowded around him, “What?” they all asked, “I don’t know if I am a true poet” he confessed, as they all gasped before telling him one by one, “Do you believe in Truth?” “Yes” he replied, “Beauty?” asked another, “Freedom?” “Yes” he replied again, “Love?” asked the last one as he sighed, “yes, above all things I believe in love. Love is everything. Love is like oxygen” he told them as they cheered and Yoda cut in, “See you can do it. You’re the voice of the Children of the Revolution, you are” he told him as another two grabbed him and lifted him back into the apartment.
The group was so excited at having Anakin join them to help write their play with his young, talented ideas, they brought out the drinks to celebrate and Anakin was to taste his first drink ever, it felt strange and unusual as he joined his friends in a toast, when it all went dark and a green light appeared in front of them-the green fairy from the bottle’s label, “I’m the green fairy” she spoke, flying in front of them, as they all drunkenly laughed while she sang, then standing up on the edge of the apartment, looking out of the city, they sang, “Freedom, Beauty, Truth and Love” as Elle the green fairy flew out in front of them, “The hills are alive with the sound of music!” and before they knew it, they were swept up into the spinning. ‘We were off to the Moulin Rouge and I was to perform my poetry for Padme” Anakin’s spoke out over on the music
Chapter 2
The Moulin Rouge was nothing like Anakin had seen, the lights, colour and the people-all here for fun-the dancers come out and the men go wild for them, throwing money at their feet. “The Moulin Rouge!” shouted Sio Bibble. Sio Bibble and his infamous girls-they called them his ‘diamond dogs’ and all of a sudden, the red curtains flew back and out flew the dazzling dancers of the Moulin Rouge with Sio Bibble, as they sang, then stopped as Bibble announced the next part, “The Can Can” he told the crowds as the dancers moved into position and then they started up again.
Anakin watched in amazement-he had never seen anything like this as men went wild for the girls dancing all around as he became caught up in the excitement, his friends called him over, “Anakin!” Yoda yelled as he turned around and sat at a nearby table, “Mission accomplished. We’ve successfully invaded C-1” he told him, as the Moulin Rouge went off all around them.
The club became dark and sparkles began to fall, everyone looked up, to see them fall and a swing come down with someone on it, Anakin stared at the figure on the swing as he heard Yoda whisper, “It’s her. The Sparkling Diamond” as her brown eyes looked intense as she began to sing, “The French are glad to die, for love” as her platform circled the crowd, They delight in fighting duels.” she went on. But someone else was to meet Padme that night. “But I prefer a man who lives” she continued, Bibble’s investor “And gives expensive” she went on, before she leaned back with her arm out, “Jewels”. she finished, The Duke. And with that the lights came back on and she began to swing while still singing.
“A kiss on the hand might be quite continent but diamonds are a girl’s best friend but diamonds are a girl’s best friend” Padme sang as the men swarmed around her, “A kiss will be grand but it won’t be pay rental on your humble flats!” “or help you feed your mmm, girl thingy cats” she went on, as some of the male dancers lifted her up “Men grow cold as girls grow old and we all lose our charm in the end” coming over to the group of young men, she took the jewellery he had offered, looking up at it, “But square, cut or pishing, these rocks don’t lost pishing, diamonds are a best friend”
The Duke and Sio Bibble looked over at Padme, “When am I going to meet the girl?” The Duke asked, “After her number, I ‘ve arranged a private meeting just you and mademoiselle Padme, totally alone” and as Anakin was enticed with Padme, he heard Yoda calling his name “Anakin!” he exclaimed as he turned to listen, he heard, “After her number, I ‘ve arranged a private meeting just you and mademoiselle Padme, totally alone” he told him as Anakin blinked, “Alone?” he asked, as Yoda and Sio Bibble repeated at the same time, “Totally alone” they told them.
“Cause we are living in a material world and I am your material girl” Padme sang, blowing a kiss to the boys in front of her, “Come and get me boys” she teased them as they lifted her up and carried her over to her platform, “Excuse me” Bibble told the Duke, “Talk to me Sio Bibble, tell me all about it!” she shouted, standing up on her platform with him, “There may come a time when a lass needs a lawyer but diamonds are a girl’s best friend” spinning around, “There may come a time when a hard boiled employer thinks you’re hot or not” “But get that ice or else no dice!” she sang, with the crowd at their feet.
In order to get Padme to see them-it was time for a switch, while she danced with the dancers and Sio Bibble, Yoda told his Anakin and his friends, “Don’t worry, don’t worry, I’ll sally forth to the front” turning around and spilling a drink on the Duke, gasping.
Is the Duke here yet Sio?” Padme asked as he looked over her shoulder, “Yes” he replied as Yoda starting to help him wipe, “Where is he?” she asked as he saw Yoda wiping his suit, “He’s the one Yoda shaking a hankie chief at” he replied as Yoda realised she was looking, dropping the cloth and popped back to Anakin, “Excuse me, Anakin, may I borrow that?” he asked, grabbing a cloth and waving it in front of him as Padme looked over, squinted hard to see him-it couldn’t be. He was so cute! “Are you sure?” she asked, as he looked over and saw the commotion, “That’s the one, chickpea” he replied as she giggled, handing her more diamonds. It was done, he thought she saw the real Duke but she knew only Anakin.
Padme and Sio Bibble went under the platform, “Will he invest?” she asked, “Play it after spending the night with you, how could he refuse” he replied as Padme asked again, “What's his type? Wilting flower? Bright and bubbly? Or smoldering temptress?” making a sizzling sound, as Bibble told her, “I'd say... smoldering temptress.” “We’re all relying on your gosling” he told her as the crowd was waiting outside, “Remember a real show in a real theatre and you’ll be…” he began, “A real actress” she finishing, popping back out, “Cause that’s when the lasses go back to their spouses” as she was spun around, “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend” she finished, landing right in front of Anakin, “I believe you were expecting me?” she asked, as he looked into her bubbly brown eyes, “Yes” he gasped, “Yes” he told her as she moved back over to the crowd, “I’m afraid it’s ladies choice” she told the crowd, pointing at Anakin, who didn’t move, she gasped as the crowd started to clap, “I see you’ve already my Naboo friend, Anakin” Yoda yelled to her, “”I’ll take care of it, Yoda” she told him, “Let’s dance” she told Anakin, pulling in up from his seat, “Tell her about your important poetry!” Yoda reminded him before he was whisked out, nervously, onto the dance floor after Padme

Chapter 3
Anakin was very nervous, he was dancing with the most beautiful woman in the Moulin Rouge and everyone was looking at him, his friends was cheering at him, as he felt her dancing around him, while trying to stay in tow, Sio Bibble watched from backstage, “That Duke certainly can dance” he commented. Padme knew what she had to do, keeping Anakin in her eye at all times, arm draped across his shoulders while they danced, “So wonderful of you to take interest in our little show” she told him, “Sounds very exciting I’d be delighted to be involved” he replied, loudly over the music, “”Really?” “Assuming you like what I do of course” he smiled, as she blushed, “I’m sure I will” she replied, he was so charming, she couldn’t wait to get to know him more, swinging her around like the other dancers, “Yoda thought we might be able to do it in private” he told her, “Did he?” she asked, “A private” he started leaning her back then bringing her back up, “Poetry reading” he finished, as she looked at him, “Oh” she replied, leaning her back and then up again, “hmmm, a poetry reading” she teased, “Oh I love a little poetry after supper” she laughed, tickling his cheeks as they continued to dance together and a huge smile cross his face.
The show was starting to wrap up, Padme was back up on her swing, going higher, “Diamonds” she began to sang with Sio Bibble proudly beaming behind her, “Diamonds” she sang again, I don’t mean rhinestones, but diamonds” she sang, as Anakin continued to stare up at her, while his friends all smiled and cheered proudly at what he done, Are a Girl’s Best…” she suddenly stopped, gasping for breath, as everyone waited for her to finish, when her eyes rolled back, then Anakin’s eyes went wide, as she fell back, everyone watched in horror, before Palo, one of the male dancers caught her in his arms, he looked up at Sio Bibble, who, still in shock, shook his head, to take her backstage, as Anakin stared, worried, he hoped she was alright, as Sio Bibble started cheering, to finish the show, the crowd soon was distracted and joined in.
Dancers Rabe and Eirtae quickly escorted Palo with an unconscious Padme to the sitting area, as Sabe and Dorme watched from above, Sabe quickly leaned over and whispered to Dorme, “Don’t know if that Duke’s going to get his’s money’s worth tonight” she smirked, as Dorme playfully hit her, “Don’t be so unkindly Sabe” she replied, pushing her back onto the stage. Palo laid Padme onto the soft, red couch, standing back.
Back out in the dance hall, the crowd was still cheering but it was clear that Padme was not coming back out, so Sio Bibble waved his arms out in front of the crowd who stopped cheering, “Feel right at home there, but I can see some lonely Moulin Rouge dancers looking for a partner or two, so if you can’t honk honk, you can honka dola with them!” he exclaimed, as the music started up and the crowd began cheering for the dancers.
Backstage, Padme’s assistant who was like a sister to her, came running past, “Out of the way, baby doll!” she snapped at Rabe, kneeling before Padme, taking a small remedial out and waving it under her nose, Padme gasped, her bright brown eyes snapping open, sweat dripping around her forehead, “All these…silly costumes” she breathed, “Just a little faint” Sola smiled at her, as Bibble’s assistant came running over, “Alright you girls, get back out there and make those gents thirsty” he told them as everyone scrambled, “Problems?” he asked as Sola rolled her eyes, “Nothing for you to be concerned about” she told him, “well let’s not stand around then” he replied, moving off as Padme lightly coughed, Palo looked at Sola, before moving back out the dance floor, Sola held a cotton hankie chief in her hand, and near Padme, as she coughed a second before drifting back unconscious, Sola looked at the cloth, she saw blood-this was bad, why was Padme coughing up blood? She wondered.
The dance floor was vibratant with the dancers, finishing off the show as the music played, “Come out of the gardens baby, young girls, they called them the diamond dogs” before the curtain closed on the show.
Chapter 4
The Duke moved out of the Moulin Rouge with his bodyguard, as the crowd moved around him busily chattering away about the night’s events, “Find Bibble. The girl’s waiting for me” The Duke glared his bodyguard who nodded and moved away t find him.
Back in Padme’s dressing, Sola was busily trying to tighten together the laces on the back of her beautiful, striking red dress, “That tinkle toes Duke is really taking the bait girl” she told her, “With a patron like him, you cold be the next Sarah Harten” she added, as Padme breathed in deeply, as the dress was closed up, “Oh Sola, do you really think I could be like the great Sarah?” she asked, powdering her cheeks, “Why not, you’ve got the talent. You hook that Duke and you’ll be lining the great streets of Alderaan to see you” she told her, as Padme whispered, “A real actress, then I’ll fly away from her” she whispered then moved around to her little green yellow bird singing in her cage, “Yes, we’re going to fly, fly away” she told the bird as Sio Bibble ran in, “Dumpling is everything all right?” he exclaimed, “Oh yes, of course Sio” she laughed, “Oh thank goodness, certainly after you weaved your magic with that Duke on the dance floor” he told her as she spun around in the beautiful, stunning red dress, he beamed, “How do I look?” she asked, “Oh my little strawberry” he replied, moving over towards her, “How could he not possibly resist gobbling you up” he told her, as she giggled, before he spun around, “Everything's going so well!” he exclaimed.
Anakin stood facing the city, his hat behind his back, he was suddenly very nervous, waiting for Padme to arrive but his friends were delighted, stepping out of the Moulin Rouge, Yoda looked up at him standing there, “Unbelievable, straight to the elephant” he commented.
Padme had changed into something more seductively, her black laced corset with see through dressing robe, her long, lacy brown hair flowing behind her, “This is a wonderful place for a poetry reading don’t you think?” she asked as he turned around to see her enter the room, she was even more beautiful than before, he was stunned, “Poetic enough for you” she whispered, “Yes, yes” he gasped.
Meanwhile his friends were eager to see what was going on with Anakin and Padme, so they laughed softly as they climbed up the elephant to overlook the meeting.
“A little supper? Maybe some champagne?” Padme suggested, moving over to the food and drink table, she lifted a bottle of champagne, as Anakin moved closer, managing to speak, “I’d rather, um, just get it over and done with” he told her, hearing her slammed the bottle down on the table, “Hmph. Oh. Very well. Then why don’t you come down here and let’s get it over and done with” she whispered, moving over to the bed, she knelt, pulling back her robe to reveal her long leg, “I prefer to do it standing” he told her , “Oh.” She gasped, and she starts to get back up, before Anakin went on, “You don’t have to stand, I mean. It’s sometimes that…it’s quite lone and I’d like you to be comfortable. It’s quite modern what I do and it may feel a little strange at first, but I think, if you’re open, then you might enjoy it” Anakin smiled, she smiled flirtatious, “I’m sure I will” she breathed, “Excuse me” he told her, turning around to remember what he had to say, “The sky is” he started, turning around, she was laying on the bed, moaning with pleasure, he turned around, getting nervous, until she couldn’t wait any more, “Um, is everything all right?” she asked, her bright brown eyes staring straight at him, “I’m just a little nervous, sometimes it takes a while for a little of inspiration to come” he replied, “Oh” she breathed, getting up and moving over, “Oh yes, yes, yes, let mummy help” she told him, grabbing his male area, “Does that inspire you?” she asked, spinning him onto the bed, “let’s me love” she told him, “Make love?” he asked, looking confused, she pushed him back, “You want to, don’t you?” she asked, “No, I come to…” he was cut off with her hand over his mouth, “Don’t speak, feel the poetry” she told him, starting to undress his pants.
His friend on the roof of the elephant were trying to hold onto Yoda, who was trying to fly past to look through the window, she was in view and he layed on the bed, she ripped open his pants and looked down, “Oh” she gasped, “Big boy” she told him as Yoda yelled back to his friends, “He’s got a huge talent!”
“Yes I need your poetry now!” Padme shouted as Anakin managed to fight his way out, “It’s a little funny” he told her, “What?” she asked, “This feeling inside. I’m not one of those who can easily hide. Is this ok? Is this what you want?” he asked, out of breath, “Ah, poetry. Yes, this is what I want naughty words.” She told him, starting to laugh and roll around, “I don’t have much money but boy if I did, I’d buy a big house where we both could live. If I were a sculptor, but then again, no. Or a man who makes potions a traveling show.” He watched her on the floor, “Oh naughty, don’t stop don’t stop” she giggled, “I know it's not much...” he stopped when he saw her still rolling around, “But it’s the best I can do” he finished, “Give more, yes, yes” she begged, as he turned away to face the city, where he started to sing, “My gift is my song!” she stopped to look, “And this one’s for you” he smiled at her, “And You can tell everybody that this is your song” as she stood and moved over to him, “It may be quite simple but now that it’s done.” “I hope you don’t mind, I hope You don’t mind That I put down in words…How wonderful Life is Now you’re in the world” she smiled, turning back, “Sat on the roof And I kicked off the moss” he went on, seeing her smile, Well some of the verses well, they got me quite cross” he smiled, turning to face her as she moved closer, circling around each other, But the sun’s been kind, while I wrote this song. It’s for people like you that, keep it turned on” standing behind her, as she blushed, So excuse me for forgetting But these things I do, you see I’ve forgotten if they’re green or they’re blue” he reached out for her hand, running his fingers through her’s, “Anyway the ting is well I really mean, Yours are the sweetest eyes I’ve ever seen” she smiled, as he took her in his arms and they were spinning around, out onto the night sky, with the fireworks exploded with colour,
“And you can tell everybody, This is your song” spinning around, standing on a minature Temple spire, she gaped in astonishment, “It may be quite simple But now that it’s done.” She spun out to his arms, her robe a twirl around her, I hope you don’t mind, I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words” he sang, holding her in his arms, “How wonderful life is now you’re in the world. I hope you don’t mind. I hope you don’t mind that I out down in words” she looked into his beautiful eyes as he smiled, How wonderful life is now you’re in the world!” picking her up in his arms, they spun around, as Yoda and his friends cheered, “Looks like we got the job!” Yoda told them
Anakin and Padme were backing her room, spinning her around before leaning her back, her arms tightly around his neck, “I can’t believe it. I’m in love. I’m in love with a young, handsome, talented duke” she whispered, as Anakin smiled, “Duke?” he asked, “Not that the title’s important” she told him, running her nose against his’s, “I’m not a duke” he told her, “Not a duke?” she asked, her eyes blinked, “I’m a writer” he told her, leaning in to kiss her, “A writer?” she asked, “Yes, a writer” he repeated, she pushed him back. [oh! What a tease I am! What will happen now that Padme knows Anakin is a write and not a Duke and where is the really Duke, stay tuned! It gets going from here]

Chapter 5
She looked at him in disbelief, Not a writer? She thought, “Oh” she gasped, “Yoda.” Anakin began to say as Padme gasped again, “Oh, you’re not one of Yoda’s oh so talented, charmingly Naboo’s, tragically impoverished writers?” she asked, as Anakin smiled, “Well, you might say that” he replied as her hands flew to her mouth, “Oh no” she gasped again, “I am going to kill him, I am going to kill him” she hissed, running over to the door.
Just when Yoda and his friends thought Anakin had gotten them the job, it had taken a nasty turn as Yoda was now seeing unfold in the room, looking back up at his friend, he whispered, “Oh, I think there might be a small miss”
Anakin ran after Padme, “Yoda told me to....” he tried to explain but she was already in a panic, “But the Duke” she cut in, opening the door to see Sio standing there with the Duke, “My dear Duke” she heard him say as she slammed the door, “The Duke!” she screamed, “The Duke?” Anakin asked, “Quick! Hide! Out the back” she told him, throwing her robe over him as he crouched down, the door flew open, “My dear, are you decent for the Duke?” Sio asked her, she spun around, “Where were you?” he asked as she knocked Anakin’s head back behind her leg, moving backwards to the table, “I..I was waiting for him” she replied, her robe opened to show her dazzling black corset, and her long legs, The Duke looked her over from bottom to the top as Sio moved over to the side, “Dearest Duke, allow me to introduce Mademoiselle Padme!” he announced, “Misteror, how wonderful to take out of your schedule to vis..” she stopped to turn her head over her shoulder to see Anakin quickly duck down behind the table, her eyes quickly flashed back around to the Duke, “The pleasure my fair will be entirely mine, my dear” The Duke told her, smiling, to take her small, white hand in his’s as Sio cut in, “I’ll leave you two squirrels to get better acquainted” he told them, walking out and closing the door behind them.
The Duke held her soft hand in his, “A kiss on the hand may be quite continent” he smiled, as Anakin listened from the other side of the table, “But diamonds are a girl’s best friend” she reminded him, taking his hat and stick, she moved over to the bed as he breathed at her breathtaking beauty, “Well, after tonight, pretty absorptions on the stage, you must surely be in the mood for a bit of refreshments, my dear” he told her, reaching for the champagne as she jumped up, “No, don’t” she breathed, “You just…” she started, moving over to the window, “love the view” she finished, as The Duke smiled, “Charming” he replied, turning back to the table, not before Padme started to dance and spin around, “I feel like dancing” she told him, diverting his eyes towards her as Anakin raised his head, a disbelief look on his face as The Duke laughed nervously, “My dear” he tried to speak up as she spun around, “Would you like a glass of champagne?” he asked turning around as she yelled as Anakin ducked back down, “Don’t” she told him, “What?” he asked, “It’s, it’s a little funny” she replied, “What is?” he asked as Anakin popped back up, “This…” she started, “Feeling” Anakin whispered quietly, “Feeling” she repeated, “Inside” he told her, “Inside” she went on, watching Anakin, “And not one of those you can easily…” she repeated as the Duke looked on, “Hide” she finished as Anakin ducked back down and she dove for the Duke’s legs, “I don’t have much money, but if I did, oh, I would be a big house, where we both would live” she told him, opening his legs to see Anakin, “Get through the door” she instructed him as he nodded, she closed his legs, “I hope you don’t mind” she started, “I hope you don’t mind, that I put down in words” she slowly rose to meet his eyes, “he was memorised with her sparkling brown eyes, “How wonderful life is, now you’re in the world” she finished, “That’s very beautiful” he told her, “It’s from Spectacular, Spectacular” she told him, placing his hands over his shoulders, “Suddenly I understand the true meaning of those words” she whispered to him while telling Anakin to move through the door, “How wonderful life is now you’re in the world” she finished “And what meaning is that, my dear?” he asked.
Anakin had slowly and quietly made his way to the door, looking back at the beautiful Padme with the Duke, turning the door handle, he opened the door but was not counting on the Duke’s bodyguard standing guard outside the room, he quickly popped back in and ran to the side, forgetting Padme and the Duke, the door slammed behind him, he saw her move away and onto her bed, pretending to cry to divert attention away from the door.
“Duke!” she told him, “Don’t you toy with my emotions” she told him, looking over at Anakin, “You.....you must know the effect you have on women” she cried as Anakin looked at her, very confused, “Let’s make love” she told him, grabbing the Duke over to her, waving at Anakin to run past, “Oh, I knew you felt the same way” she told him, as Anakin ran past but stopped, “Oh Duke” she breathed, “Get out, get out” she whispered, then seeing him, she stopped, “You’re right, we should wait, until opening night” she told him, smiling at Anakin who smiled back then moved out of sight, “Wait, wait” The Duke repeated, “It’s a poem you wrote that scares me” she replied, “You should go” she added, “I just got here” he reminded her, “Yes, but we’ll see every day but we must wait, must wait until opening night, get out” she told him, closing the door behind her as Anakin moved into view, she breathed heavily.
She saw Anakin and still breathing heavily, she ran forward, “Do you have any idea, any idea what would have happened if you were found?” she asked, as he looked at her, she started to sway and fall, he was forced to catch her in his arms, “Oh my” he gasped, holding her, he whispered, “Padme” shaking her to wake up.
In his office opposite Padme’s dressing room, Sio had decided to have a look in on her process with the Duke, “Let’s have a little peek-a-boo” he muttered, looking through his telescope, he saw what he thought was the Duke holding on Padme in his arms, shaking her, “My little darling” he muttered to himself.
Anakin had no idea what to do, holding onto her, he tried to move her over to the bed, as his friends popped their heads around, looking confused at what Anakin was doing, he fell onto the bed over Padme, who was still unconscious, upon hearing the door click open, they popped out of site, it was the Duke.
“I forgot my hat” he announced to see Padme on the bed with a bewildered Anakin on top of her, “Foul play?” he asked, as Anakin was lost for words, “She…I” he started as The Duke became angry and Padme’s eyes slowly opened up, “It’s a little bit funny, this feeling inside” he spoke as Padme, seeing where she was, replied, “Beautifully spoken Duke, yes, let me introduce you to the writer”, slowly getting up, “The writer?” he asked, suspiciously eying them, “Oh yes, we were, we were rehearsing” she told him, standing up, next to Anakin, innocent smile on their face, The Duke laughed sarcastically, closing the door, he moved forward, “You expect me to believe that scantily clad, in the arms of another man, in the middle of the night, inside an elephant you were rehearsing?” he asked angrily at a startled Padme and Anakin.
[What will happen next? What do they say, do? Is it all over? Not by a long shot, stay tuned!]

Chapter 6
As the Duke edged closer to Padme and Anakin, they were too stunned to say anything, when all of a sudden, they had a loud crash and a cheerful voice, “How’s the rehearsing going?” they asked and Padme and Anakin turned to see Yoda standing there, moving forward, he told them, “Shall we take it from the top, I presume” he added as his other friends rushed by, “I hope the piano’s in tune” another told the Duke as Obi Wan moved over to the food and drinks, “Sorry about this, can I offer you a drink?” he asked.
In his office watching the drama unfolded, Bibble saw the group crowded around Padme and a confused Duke, he knew he had to get down there, “Oh my goodness!” he exclaimed, quickly running from the office to her dressing room before it was too late.
Padme quickly carried on with the noise, “When I spoke those words to you, you filled me with such inspiration” she told him, “Yes and I realize that there was so much work to do before tomorrow so I called everyone together, for an emergency rehearsal” she told him but the Duke was quick to point out, “If you’re rehearsing, where’s Bibble?” he snarled as she shook her head, laughing, “Oh no, we wouldn’t bother…..” she was cut off by the sound of the door banging open and Bibble coming in, “My dear, Duke, I’m most terrible sorry” he apologized as Padme moved over to him, “Sio, you made it. It’s alright. The Duke knows all about the emergency rehearsal” she told him, as he followed her gaze, “Emergency rehearsal?” he repeated as she smiled flirtalous at the Duke, “Yes, to incorpate the Duke’s artistic ideas” she replied as Sio exclaimed, “Yes, I’m sure that Mace would be all too happy to….” He was cut off by Yoda’s points, “Mace is not…” as Padme cut in, “Sio, the cat’s out of the bag!” she told him as she turned back, “Yes, the Duke’s already a big fan of our new writer’s work” she went on, looking over at Anakin before back to Sio, “That’s why he’s so keen to invest” she hinted “Invest?” he asked as he then got it, “Invest! Oh yes well invest” his voice boomed, “You can hardly blame for trying to hide our…” stopping and waving his hand at Anakin and Yoda for a name, as Anakin and Yoda both echoed, “Anakin!”, “Anakin away” he finished as the Duke looked at him, rolling his eyes, “I’m way ahead of you, Bibble” he told him, “My dear Duke, why don’t you and I go to my office to reluse the paper work” he suggested as Yoda and Anakin smiled between each other, thinking they were out of the clear.
“What’s the story?” he quickly asked as Bibble asked, “The story?”, “well, if I’m to invest, I’ll need to know the story” he pointed out as he suddenly froze, “Ah yes, well the story is about…”he stopped, “Yoda” he asked as they all looked at him, “Yes, well the story about, yes well the story’s about……” he stalled, “It’s about love” Anakin finished as The Duke smirked, “Love?” he asked, “it’s about love, overcoming all obstacles” Anakin went on, looking straight at Padme, who melted with his soft blue eyes staring at her, “And it’s set on Hoth!” Yoda exclaimed, as the Duke quickly questioned this, “Hoth?”, “Hollic Hoth!” Bibble echoed as Anakin looked around shouted, “Alderaan! Alderaan! It’s set in Alderran! And there’s a courtesan, the most beautiful courtesan in all the galaxy” he told them, looking straight at Padme before turning straight to the Duke, he went on, “but her kingdom’s invaded by an evil Maharaja!” he introduced before continuing, “Now, in order to save her kingdom, she has to a seduce the evil Maharaja. But on the night of the seduction, she mistakes a penniless po-a penniless-“he stopped, he needed a different title, “a penniless sitar player for the evil Maharaja and she falls in love with him!” he exclaims, turning to Padme, he continued, “He wasn’t trying to trick her or anything but he was dressed as a Maharaja because……he’s appearing in a play!” he told them as they both turned to the Duke, as Obi Wan charged forward, “I will play the elast tango dancing sitar player!” he exclaimed, grabbing the sitar from Anakin, “You seem like an angel, but dance like the devil” he added as the Duke was intrigued, nervously asking, “And, and what happens next?” as Anakin pushed forward, “Well, the penniless sitar player and the Courtesan have to hide their love from the evil Maharaja” as another piped up, “The penniless sitar player player is magical. It can only speak the truth” he informed him as Yoda squeezed forward, “And I will play the magical sitar” he told him, singing, You are beautiful” he sang to Padme, looking down at him, “You are ugly” he said to Bibble and then turned to the Duke, “And you are……” he was cut off as everyone moved to stop him speaking as the Duke put in, “And he gives the game away” he told them as they all cheered with delight, “Tell him about the can can” Bibble told Anakin, “The dancing can can……” Anakin started before Bibble pushed him aside, “Is an exotic, violent, vibrant world of Naboo’s that this whole production embodies” he finished as the Duke looked at him, “What do you mean by that?” he asked, “I mean the show will be a magnificent, opulent, tremendous, stupendous, gargantuan, bedazzlement, a sensual ravishment-it will be!” he declared, as they parted to show the pianist on the piano, “Spectacular, Spectacular!” he exclaimed, “The words of the natural, can’t describe this great event” he spun around, “You’ll be darn with wonderment, returns are fixed at 10%” he told him, “You must agree that excellent” he told him, before he moved in front of him, “And on top of your fee” he started, joining the rest of the group “You be involved artistically” , singing So exciting the audience will stomp their chairs, so delighting it will run for fifty years, so exciting the audience will stomp their chairs, so delighting it will run for fifty years” as they all swarmed around the room, singing “Elephants!” Yoda shouted, as another sang, “Nabooians” “Alderrans!” Bibble sang, “Courtesans” Padme softly sang, “Acrobats” “and Juggling Bears!” Obi Wan added, “Exotic girls! Fire eaters! Muscle Men! Contortionists!” “Intrigue, danger” “And romance” Yoda added, “Electric lights, machinery” they all added, “Powered with electricity!” Yoda exclaimed, as they all circled around the Duke, “So exciting the audience will stomp their chairs, so delighting it will run for fifty years, so exciting the audience will stomp their chairs, so delighting it will run for fifty years” before they all ran forward on the knees, “Spectacular, Spectacular, the words of a natural, can’t describe this great event” “You’ll be darn with wonderment!” they all exclaimed, pointing at the Duke, “The hills are alive with the sound of music”, “So exciting the audience will stomp their chairs, so delighting it will run for fifty years, so exciting the audience will stomp their chairs, so delighting it will run for fifty years” before they all finished up, Padme laying across the boys, arms out as the Duke looked at them, “Yes, but what happens in the end?” he asked them as they all turned their heads to each other, puzzled. They all swarmed around the dressing room, grabbing anything they could find to produce an ending for the Duke, they drew some red curtains across half of the room and Anakin stood in the middle, looking down at Yoda, who quickly turned on the light and Anakin moved away, the curtains opened and Anakin began, “The courtesan and sitar man are pulled apart by an evil plan...” as Padme sang, “but in the end she hears his song...” as Anakin continued. “and their love is just too strong” as Padme, in her character of the play, leans in to kiss Obi Wan, she is sidetracked by Anakin and stares at him sweetly, as he smiles back as the Duke cuts in, “It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside” before they are back into the song, “So exciting the audience will stomp their chairs, so delighting it will run for fifty years, so exciting the audience will stomp their chairs, so delighting it will run for fifty years” then they continued with the ending, Anakin continued with the story, “The Sitar’s player’s secret song, helps them flee the evil one…” “Through the tyrant rants and rails, it is all to no avail!” and from behind the screen appears Bibble, in a loud voice, he speaks, “I am the evil maharajah! You will not escape!” he declared as the Duke laughed nervously, and Padme put in “Oh Sio, no one could play him like you could!” as he looked at her, “No one’s going to!” he replied as they broke into their song again, “So exciting, we’ll make them laugh, we’ll make them cry! So delighting it will last for fifty years!” as the Duke asked again, “And in the end, should someone die?” as they looked at each other, “So exciting, the audience will stomp and cheer! So delighting it will run for 50 years...!” They all spun around to create a spectacular finish for the Duke that left him stunned with only one sentence to complete it, “Generally I like it” he told them, as they all cheered and swarmed around him.
Bibble had an investor and the Jedi had a show. The celebrations were lasting into the night as Yoda was thrilled, shouting excitedly, “It’s the end of the century. The Jedi have an revolutionary!” throwing a bottle against the building as dancers danced around the room, Obi Wan found himself, entrusted with one of the beautiful dancers from the Moulin Rouge, “What a beautiful woman” he told her, as others laughed, drank and partied throughout the room.
While the celebration party raged on upstairs, I tried to write but I all I could think about was her. Anakin sat on the edge of his balcony, overlooking the Moulin Rouge, he softly sang, “How wonderful life is” Was she thinking about me? “Now you’re in the world” looking out at the brightly, coloured Moulin Rouge nightclub.

Chapter 7
Alone, in her dressing room, Padme, wore her shiny, long, beautiful red dress, with her hair flowing down her back as she sat at her vanity, Anakin’s words that night ran through her head, “I’m not a Duke” “I’m a writer” “He wasn’t trying to trick her or anything” She got up and looked out at his apartment and saw him move over to his small table, “It’s about love” “love. Overcoming all obstacles”. She slowly moved towards the large entrance, softly singing, “I follow the night. Can’t stand the light When will I begin to live again” she grabbed on to the golden rail on the side, “One day I’ll fly away Leave all this to yesterday What more could your love do for me. When will love be through with me” pushing her back against the edge of the rail, she looked over to his apartment, “Why live life from dream to dream and dread the day when dreaming ends” she softly sang out as Anakin moved forward to the window, he smiled, “How wonderful life is now you’re in the world!” he sang, she began to move towards the stairs outside, looking back, Anakin smiled and moved outside.
Padme began to climb the small, golden stairs to the roof, looking back down at Anakin’s window, she found it was empty, wondering where he had taken off to, she suddenly shook it aside and climbed faster until she was standing high on the roof of the elephant, “One day I’ll fly away leave all this to yesterday why live life from dream to dream” she sang beautifully as she overlooked the city, as Anakin crept around the back, looking up at the stunning image of Padme, in her long, flowing red dress.
“And dread the day when dreaming ends” she finished, not noticing Anakin climbing up the tail of the elephant, careful of not giving himself away at the moment. Padme moved back to a small bench seat, singing softly, “One day, I’ll fly away” he slowly tiptoed behind her, watching her as she looked over out the dimly lit city, singing to a whisper, “Fly fly away”. It was a peaceful quiet moment as he stood behind her, she was unaware of his presence, until he breathed a soft breath and she turned, seeing him standing there, she screamed as he moved forward.
“Sorry” he told her as she jumped back up and moved away, “I didn’t mean to scare you” he went on, “I saw your light on and I climbed up the…” he stopped as she stared at him, her soft brown eyes staring at him, “I couldn’t sleep and I wanted to thankyou for helping me get the job” he finished as she looked down, blinking “Oh yes, of course” she replied, “Yes, um, Yoda……Yoda was right. You’re very talented” she commented, seeing him smile, “It’s going to be a wonderful show” she added, “Anyway, I better leave because we both…we both have a big, big day tomorrow” she informed him, turning to move back down the stairs, she stopped when he begged, “Wait, no please wait” standing there, “Before when we were……when we were” he stuttered, as she raised her eyes, “When you thought I was the Duke, you said that you loved me and I wondered if…” his voice trailed off, “If it was an act?” she asked, “Yes” he quickly answered, “Course” she replied as he looked down, disappointed, “It just felt real” he softly told her, she smiled sweetly, moving towards him, “Anakin. I’m a Courtesan, I’m plaid to make men believe what they want to believe” she explained to him as he looked up, smiling, “Silly me, to think that you would fall in love with someone like me” he laughed as she slightly laughed, “I can’t fall in love with anyone” she confessed as his eyes went wide, “Can’t fall in love?” he asked, “But a life without love that terrible!” he exclaimed to her, “No, living on the street, that’s terrible” Padme protested, “No! Love is like oxygen, love in a many splendored thing, love lifts us up where we belong, all you need to love!” he told her as she sighed, “Please, don’t start that again” she told him as he smiled and started to sing “All you need is love” “A girl has got to eat” she told him, but he still kept on going, “All you need in love” she just looked at him, laughing, then she joined in, “Love is just a game”
Anakin jumped down in front of her, smiling, “I was made for loving you, baby, you were made for loving me” as she turned around, flicking her long brown hair behind her hair, “The only way of loving me, baby is to play a lovely fee” she told him, as he moved over closer to her, “Just one night, just one night” he pleaded with her as she shot back, “There’s no way cause you can’t pay” as he held on to the golden pole, In the name of love” as Padme laughed, “One night in the name of love” as he swung around, she moved away, “You crazy fool. I won’t give in to you” she told him as he stepped forward, “Don’t-leave me this way. I can’t survive, without your sweet love, oh baby…don’t leave me this way” as she moved away, “You’d think that people would have had enough of silly love songs” as he moved over to her, smiling, “ I look around me and I see, it isn’t so. Heh, no” she turned to look up into his bright blue eyes, “Some people want to fill the world with silly love songs” as he raised a hand to her face, “Well, what’s wrong with that, I’d like to know” Anakin and Padme lean in to share a kiss but she quickly pulls away, he sees her go, “Cause here I go” he runs past her, jumps onto of the dome point of the elephant, Padme screams, afraid he would fall, but he kept going, “love lifts us up where we belong…” as Padme pleaded with him, “Get down, get down from there” but Anakin kept on going, “where eagles fly, on a mountain high” Padme pulls him down, singing to him, “Love makes us act like we are fools. Throw our lives away, for one happy day” moving back to the stairs as he threw his arms in the happily, “We could be heroes! Just for one day” following her to the stairs, she turned to him, “You, you will be mean” as he laughed, “No, I won’t” as she sighed, “And I, I’ll drink all the time” moving back inside her dressing room, he popped around, “We should be lovers!” as she looked down, “We can’t do that” she softly replied, “We should be lovers! And that’s a fact” he continued as she turned around, looking directly at him, “Though nothing, would keep us together!” she sang as he moved forward, “We could steal time…” he suggested as he was directly in front of her, smiling proudly, they both sang, “We could be heroes, forever and ever, We could be heroes, forever and ever, We could be heroes…” they stared lovingly into each other’s eyes as Anakin went on, “Just because I…… will always love you” she sweetly replied, “I……” before they both continued, “Can’t help loving……” before Anakin finished, “……You” as Padme smiled, “How wonderful life is,” as both softly finished, “Now you’re in, the world…” as they leaned in to kiss, she smiled, “You’re going to really bad for business. I can tell” she whispered before Anakin and Padme shared a tender, romantic kiss against the backdrop of Courscant as fireworks exploded all around them.
Watching from afar, little Yoda sat on the edge of his window balcony, a drink bottle in his hand and tears falling down his cheek as he softly sang, “How wonderful life is, now you’re in the world”
How wonderful life was now Padme was in the world. But in the Duke’s, Bibble had gotten much more than he had bargained for.
It was early morning on Courscant, as Bibble and The Duke sat in his office, still going over the paperwork for the play and The Duke was laying down his demands, “The progression of the Moulin Rouge will cost a fantastic lot of money, Bibble” the Duke told him before he went on, “So in return, I would require a contract that binds Padme to me, exclusively” he told him, “Naturally, I would require some security. I would require the deeds to Moulin Rouge” he finished, the papers slamming down on the table, Bibble breathed deeply, “My dear Duke” he tried to reply, but he snapped, “Please, don’t think I am naïve, Bibble” he told him, “I shall hold the deeds to the Moulin Rouge” he firmly told him, “I…” Bibble stuttered, “And if there are any shannings” he went on, “My man servant, Antilles” The Duke continued and out stepped, a larger man, quiet but stern, “Will deal with it, in the only manner, that you unworked, show folk understand” he smiled, “Padme will mine!” he exclaimed, “It’s not that I’m not a jealous man. I just don’t like other people touching my things!” he shouted then he calmed but down, a stunned Bibble sat, eyes wide, “I understand, completely, Duke” signing the forms, “Good, now that will have an understanding, it would appear that you have the means to turn your beloved Moulin Rouge…” he told him, “In a Theatre!” The Duke smiled, before firmly telling him, “I shall rule Padme over supper tonight”
Earlier on in the morning, everyone had assembled in the now empty dance hall, to listen to Bibble discussing plans for the theatre, “We will have created the world’s first completely modern, entirely electric. Totally Nabooian!” his voice boomed as Padme, dressed in a beautiful, long white dress with coat and hat, looked over at Anakin and smiled at him before noticing the Duke smiling at her, so she smiled back as Bibble continued, “All singing! All dancing! Stage spectacular!” he exclaimed and right at the moment, a huge, black wrecking ball smashes through behind him, causing everyone to jump back, as a now, dust covered Bibble moved forward, “The show must go on!” he proudly exclaimed.
Yes, the show would go on, but Padme would not attend the supper that night or the night after that. As Padme and Yoda found themselves listening to Anakin’s story idea’s, he emerges from behind the curtain, in a wild rage, as Padme smiles at him, “Mad with jealously, the evil maharajah forces the Courtesan to make the penniless sitar player believe she doesn’t love him” he told her as Yoda laughed excitedly, as Anakin jumped on top of his balcony, “Thankyou for curing me of my ridiculous obsession with love!” he exclaimed, “Says the penniless sitar player throwing money at her feet and leaving the kingdom forever……” he told them, pretending to fall as Yoda and Padme gasped, as he stopped, laughing, running along the side as Padme looked around for him, laughing, “Oh, but a life without love that’s terrible” as Anakin popped back in, “Yes, but…” he replied, moving closer to her, “The sitar” he added as Yoda cut in, “wait, wait, that my part, that’s my part” he told them, “The magical sitar” Anakin went on, as Yoda laughed, coming over, “Don’t you dare. The magical sitar that can only speak the truth says…” he stops, as Padme laughed and Anakin smiled, looking deep in her eyes. The greatest thing you’ll learn, is just to love and be love in return.
Over the next few days, the Moulin Rouge was abuzz with rehearsals with dancers and music as Anakin spent his time with Padme as well as Yoda, making sure he would remember his line, “Yoda?” he asked, “Yes, I know, the greatest thing you’ll ever…” he started before messing up. On top of this, Padme and Anakin would be sneaking to her dressing room, pretending to rehearsal but making out instead until the Duke would barged in, all sort of outings. Padme and Anakin were busy kissing in her dressing room where the Duke burst in, “A picnic? Sweetlady?” he asked, as she gasped, “Oh my Duke, so much to do, so much work” she replied as he handed the basket over to Anakin, “Well, if the young writer can’t handle a basket, I don’t see why you both can’t do it in my presence?” he told them. Another time, he burst in, “Still at it, my sweet?” he asked, as another excuse came up, “Oh my dear, sweet dear so many lines, in trilling over and over” she told him
But try as the Duke may, it was almost too easy for the young writer and the lead actress to invent perfectly, legitmate reasons to avoid him. Overlooking the rehearsals with the Duke, Padme looked over her shoulder and saw Anakin standing nearby, smiling at her, she smiled back before turning away with a straight face as Anakin came over and crouched down, “Mademaiselle Padme, I haven’t quite finished writing that new scene. The ‘Will The lovers Be Meeting at the Sitar’s Player’s Humble Abode’ scene” he told her as she looked at him, “And I was wondering if I could work on it with you later tonight” he went on, smiling at her, slightly before the Duke cut in, “But, my dear, I’ve arranged a magnificent supper for us in the Gothic Tower” he informed her as Anakin looked down, disappointed, “It’s not important, We could work on it tomorrow” he replied as Padme gasped, standing up, sweeping her beautiful purple dress behind her, “Oh, how dare you! It cannot wait until tomorrow. ‘The Lovers Will Be Meeting In The Sitar Player’s Humble Abode’ scene is the most important in the production” she replied, as Anakin, now standing, smiled slightly from behind the Duke, listening to Padme, “We will work on it tonight until I am completely satisfied” she added as The Duke was quick to stand, to intervene, “B-But my dear-“ he started as she cut him off, “Dear Duke. Excuse me” she replied, moving off, he quickly turned back to Anakin, who looked kept a straight face, with a little smile, “I’m sorry” he told him and moved off as The Duke moved off to find Bibble.
[What will the Duke say to Bibble? Will he demand more or a change? And can Padme and Anakin keep up their secret relationship longer? Stay tuned!]

Chapter 8
Bibble was busy directing the dancers in their routine, he had not seen Padme wander off or the Duke coming towards him. As the construction workers were working around them on the stage and the hall, the music was being put into tune and dancers were rehearsing their routine. No one had noticed anything different.
Padme quickly moved down the back hallway which backed onto the dance hall as Anakin, quietly followed her, looking around, making sure no one had seen them, sneaking off, when finally, she stopped and pulled him in closer, his hands around her waist, her’s on his face, their lips were locked in passionate kisses.
The Duke spotted Bibble directing the dancers; he needed to talk to him about Padme. He was promised that she would spend her nights with him as he walked towards him, he heard Bibble directing the dancers, “Right, that’s a wrap for today. Tomorrow, we begin on act 2, ‘The Lovers Are Discovered!’”, getting closer, he called out “Bibble!” as Bibble turned him and saw him coming, “My dear Duke, everything is arranged for that special supper in the Gothic Tower tonight” he reminded him, “Might as well eat it yourself, Bibble, her affections to her are waffling” he snapped back at him, “Impossible!” he exclaimed, “I understand how important your work is to her, but she’s always at it with that damn writer!” he yelled as Bibble looked over his shoulder, and saw something he did not want to see: Padme kissing the writer Anakin!, quickly turning his attention back to the Duke, he went on, “If I don’t see her tonight, I’m very well leaving!” he exclaimed, almost turning his head before Bibble prevented him, “No! Dear Duke” he yelled, “I insist that Padme take the night off tonight” he quickly replied, looking over at Padme as the Duke calmed back down, “Alright, alright. 8.00, then” he told him moving away, Bibble moving down the stairs, not happy with what Padme had been doing.
Padme looked out over the dance floor, giggling as Anakin stayed crouched down besides her, “You’ll come tonight?” he asked as she turned back to him, “Yes” she replied, as he pulled her farther down the hallway, giggling, before he was about to head off, spinning around, he asked her “What time?”, “8.00” she replied, giggling, as he smiled, “Promise?” he asked, as she giggled, “Yes” she replied, seeing him smile happily, “Go” she told him, as he gave one last sweet look at her and ran off.
Padme was smiling and giggling to herself as she made her way back to the dance hall, when she was blocked by a big, dark figure, she looked at up to see Sio Bibble standing there, “Are you mad?” he asked her, “The Duke holds the deeds to the Moulin Rouge, he’s spending a fortune on you, he’s giving you a beautiful new dressing room, he wants to make you a star, and YOU’RE DALYING WITH THE WRITER!” he snapped at her, as she gasped before she laughed, “Sio, that ridic……” she started before he cut her off, “I SAW YOU TOGETHER!” he yelled as she stepped back and moved over to the rail, “It’s nothing. It’s just an infatuation…it’s nothing” she breathed out as he moved closer to her, “The infatuation will end. Go to the boy, tell him it’s over, and the Duke is expecting you in the tower at eight” he told her strongly, before walking off in anger as Padme, just stood there, too shocked at what she was being forced to do.
“If I should fly, this very moment, I wouldn’t feel” she softy sang as she moved down the hall, “I should have known that life feels” she went on, “Breathtaking while living, ever breath of it” she moved along, the now empty dark hall, “Why live life from dream to dream and dread the day” she began to sing when she started to struggle for breath, every breath heavy.
How could I know…in those last fatal days, Padme still struggling with her breathing began to cough, tears flowing from her tears as she wondered what was happening to her, staring into the mirror, But a force darker than jealousy, and stronger than love, had began to take hold…of Padme. Padme was overcome with the loss of breath and fell to the ground, unconscious and watching from a few feet behind, dancers Palo and Rabe observed Padme’s sudden change in health.
As the afternoon soon turned to night, everyone was now worried, Padme had still not regained consciousness, now lying on her bed in her dressing room been checked over by a medical droid with Sola, kneeling right next to her and Palo watching from the door.
The Duke was growing impatience, pacing the tower room in frustration, as Bibble observed from his office across from the Gothic Tower, he too, was becoming frustration, muttering, “Where is she?” to himself and Anakin, was becoming curious as to where she was, hoping that she wasn’t having dinner with the Duke as he walked around his apartment, occasionally gazing out his window at the spinning windmill of the sparkling Moulin Rouge, hoping she would come to him.
“Do you think she’ll be up and about by tonight?” Sola asked with worry as the medical droid check Padme’s blood, pulse and heart beat, shaking it’s head, “Tomorrow morning is the earliest” they replied as Sola looked away in sadness, “What was happening to Padme?” she wondered.
The Duke had grown tired of waiting for Padme, thinking that Bibble had failed in stopping her from working with that writer; he ordered his staff to close the doors to the balcony. Seeing this, Bibble’s assistant ran to his office, exclaiming, “The Duke’s leaving!” but Bibble would not have it and needed the Duke, so rushing to the Tower, he knew he would have to lie. Standing in the tower, seeing the Duke turn away towards the exit, he shouted, “She’s confessing!” which caused the Duke to stop and turn, already in anger.
Now do I have your interest once again? What will Sio say and does the Duke believe him? Plus what will Padme tell Anakin the next morning about not showing up the night before? Will she tell him the truth? Plus there is a shocking twist to our story, what it is; you’ll have to stay reading!]

Chapter 9 Note: In the Come What May parts, the scenes in the movies shift to different locations and may be confusing, but I will do my best at writing them the best I can. Hope you enjoy it still. There will be a part during the song where the lyrics are separate from the story that is because in the movie, as they sing, the scene moves to different locations.
The Duke, still furious at the absence of Padme, turned to face Bibble, “Confessing!?! What kind of imbecile do you take for, Bibble?” he angrily snapped back as Bibble’s voice became a little shaky, “She suddenly has a terrible desire to go to a priest” he informed him, “To confess to her sins” he added, The Duke had to blink twice, trying to believe all this, “What?” he asked, his voice no more than a whisper, moving slowly forward to him, Bibble continued, “She wanted to be cleansed of her former life. She’s looks upon this night as her wedding night” he told him, “The wedding night?” The Duke repeated, “She’s like a blushing bride” he smiled, “She said you make her feel “like a virgin”” he added as The Duke repeated, through his teeth, “Virgin?” as Bibble smiled more, “You know, touched for the very first time” telling him more as they moved back into the room, “She says it feels so good inside. When you hold her And you touch her” as The Duke repeated softly, “Like a virgin” as Bibble moved in front of him as the Duke’s staff started to stop packing to watch the two, “She made it through the wilderness somehow. She made it through. She didn’t know how lost she was” “Until she found you” he finished then slowly started to sing, “She was beat incomplete. She’d been had. She was sad and blue. But you made her feel. Yes you made her feel. Shiny and new” then the room exploded into light, with the staff swarming around them as Bibble went louder, “Like a virgin! Touched for the very first time. Like a virgin. When your heart beats close in time” as they danced their way across the room, with Bibble now sporting a white frilly tablecloth around his head, “If you want her love. Fear is fading fast. She’s saving it all for you. Only love can last” as the Duke watched on, feeling uncomfortable around all this, She’s so fine and she’s nice. She’ll be yours til the end of time. Cause you made her feel. Yes you made her. She had nothing to hide” Bibble jumped off his seat and landed in front of him, Like a virgin. Touched for the very time. Like a virgin. When your heart beats close in time” as they ran out onto the balcony, “Like a virgin. Feels so good inside. When you hold her and you touch her” as they ran after him, falling onto the large, double bed which began to spin around, making the Duke feel really nervous.
While Bibble’s lies were working with the Duke, Anakin paced his room, unaware of what was happening, his face serious, she wasn’t coming, she had obviously lied to him but he was unaware that right now, Padme was lying on her bed, still unconscious, moving her head just slightly against her pillow while the medical droid check her over.
The bed came to stop and the Duke redeemed himself as everyone closed in on him, he started, “She’s so fine And she’s mine. She makes me strong. Yes she makes me bold. And he love thawed out, Yes her love for thawed out. What was scared and cold” The Duke leapt off the bed and slowly crept over to the slowly moving Bibble, now backing away, he screamed, “Like a virgin!” as the Duke picked up his pace, “Touched for the very first time. Like a virgin. When your heart beats close in time” standing right in front of him before he diverted his attention, running off, “Like a virgin!” he exclaimed in the distance as The Duke snarled, “Feels so good inside” he moved over to the other end of the table, climbing up on top as Bibble was stopped by everyone and saw him coming closer, When you hold her and you touch her. And you hold her and you touch her” coming right in front of him, in a frightening way before they both added, “Like a virgin!” and dancing around on the table as champagne corks flew open and there was a waterfall of champagne in the air.
Sio Bibble’s lies had once again adverted disaster. But no lie, however, brilliant, could save Padme.
Fresh from his return at the Gothic Tower, Sio Bibble was greeted with the medical droid and Padme’s assistant Sola just outside her door, he looked in and saw her on the bed, so peaceful. The medical droid was about to deliver some horrible news. “Monsieur Bibble. I’m afraid that Padme is dying” they spoke slowly, “She has consumption” he explained as Bibble was overcome with sadness, “My little sparrow is dying” he whispered as Sola felt the tears swell before Bibble remained firm, “She mustn’t know Sola. The show must go on” he told her.
When morning rose over Courscant, Padme had woken and immediately headed over to Anakin’s place, her long brown hair held up in a tight bun and she wore a stunning, white dressing grown over her night dress, she sat up on the bed and as Anakin sat over, typing away near the window. All night the penniless sitar player had waited and now for the first time. He felt the cold stab of jealously. Anakin stopped and looked over at Padme, who coughed slightly, a lump was forming in his throat before he finally spoke, “Where were you last night?” he asked as she turned her head to face him, softly speaking, “I told you, I was sick” she tried to smile as Anakin got up and moved to the edge of the bed, “You don’t have to lie to me” he told her as she moved into a sitting position on the bed, “We have to end this” she replied, not seeing Anakin gasped, “Everyone knows. Bibble knows, sooner or later the Duke will find out” she told him, Padme leaned more forward, her voice was no more than whisper now, “On opening night I have to sleep with the Duke, and the jealousy will drive you mad” as she moved over to the open door out to the balcony as Anakin sat on the bed, he could already feel the jealously control him and his blood boil, as she moved out onto the balcony, he jumped up and moved over to her, holding her, “Then I’ll write a song and we’ll put it in the show” he told her as she shook her head, “No” she replied, “And no matter how bad things that when you sing it or whistle it or hum it, you’ll know what it’ll mean” he went on, kissing her forehead as she tried to move away, “I won’t get jealous” he added as she pulled back, her bright, brown eyes bearing into his’s, “Please don’t buff that way, Anakin. We have to end this” she told her, sadly, moving past him to the other side.
Anakin stared through the windows at Padme, just standing there, she was so beautiful, how could she end this? He needed to show her how much she love him so he decided to sing her the song he was going to put in the play, “Never knew I could feel like this” Padme felt herself melt at hearing his beautiful, sweet voice, “Like I’ve never seen the sky before” “Want to vanish inside your kiss”, “Everyday I love you more and more”
Mid morning, Anakin sat on a nearby seat as Padme stood on the makeshift stage next to Obi Wan, with Bibble nearby, Anakin introducing the new scene to them, “Now this new scene is where the Sitar player writes a secret song for the Courtesan” he explains as Padme looks up and smiles softly, “So whatever happens, however bad things are, that they remember their love” he told them, “So we could take it from your line, Padme” he went on, moving back as the Duke, who had been sitting nearby, looked confused at this new change, but said nothing as they began, “We must be careful” Padme told Obi Wan as he replied, “Fear not, we will conduct a love affair, right under the Maharajah” as Anakin began to sing the song as Padme looked over at him, Seasons may change. Winter to Spring” as Obi Wan fall back down the ground as Bibble spoke on, “Honestly, amigo. This is impossible!” he exclaimed, clearly unimpressed about the Jedi, with a condition like his’s, playing the main lead, “But I love you until the end of time” Anakin told Padme, who could feel herself melt more for him.
Anakin stood behind Padme on his balcony, holding her arms, “Come what may” as he turned her around, so she was looking at him, “Come what may. I will love you until my dying day”
During spare times away from rehearsals, The Duke had arranged for a picnic with Padme, but of course, Anakin was coming along, only to carry the picnic equipment, climbing the lush green hill tops, Anakin stood next Padme, gazing into her soft brown eyes as they sang, “Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place” as the Duke cut in, “My dear, a little frog” as Padme quickly turned back to Anakin, “Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace”
“Suddenly my life doesn’t seem such a waste” “It all revolves around you” as they were back in the rehearsal hall, sitting not too far from each other, unaware of what was going on around them, just thinking the two of them, falling deeper in love.
“And there’s no mountain too high. No river too wide” “Sing out this song and I’ll be there by your side”
Padme and Anakin were spending all their time together, despite having Bibble telling her before to call it off with him, cozying up together in his apartment, their heads on each other’s shoulder’s with the sunlight seeping through or sitting across from each other on his bed, going over lines for the play.
“Storm clouds may gather” “And stars may collide” as Anakin smiled over at Padme who blushed, “But I love you” he told her before she whispered back, “I love you” “Until the end of time” “Come what may. Come what may. I will love you” as the cast of the play all came together for a practice for the Duke.
Unknown to them, Sabe was going to spill the secret as she stood next to the Duke, speaking her thoughts loudly, “This ending’s silly. Why would the Courtesan fall for the penniless writer” before she gasped, “Whoops. I meant sitar player” she corrected before she walked off smirking as the Duke turned his attention back to the play, “Oh come what may, come what may” they all sang, “I will love you, I will love you” as Sabe moved back to sit with her three other friends and the Duke turned angry, “Come what may, I will love you til my dying day!” before they finished their song.
“I don’t like this ending” The Duke spoke out once they were finished as everyone turned their heads towards the Duke, Padme stepped away from Obi Wan as Bibble questioned his response, “Don’t like the ending, my dear Duke?” as The Duke, now standing up, responded further, “Why should the courtesan chose the penniless sitar player over the maharajah who is offering her a lifetime of security? That’s real love. Once the sitar player has satisfied his lust he will leave her with nothing. I suggest that the courtesan chose the maharajah” he smiled as Anakin stared in disbelief, he couldn’t believe what he was hearing as Yoda started to move forward, “But, but tell me, that ending does not uphold the Nabooian ideals of truth, beauty, freedom, and…” he was cut off by the now angry Duke, “I don’t care about your ridiculous dogma! Why shouldn’t the courtesan chose the maharajah!?! He shouted as Anakin, who had had enough shouted, “Because she doesn’t love you!” as everyone stared over at him, stunned as he quickly corrected himself, “Him.. Hi-him, she doesn’t love…she doesn’t love him” as the Duke stared at him then Padme, who only remained unharmed by what had seen, “Oh, I see…Monsieur Bibble, the play will be rewritten with the courtesan choosing the maharajah and without the lover’s secret song” he told him, glaring over at Anakin, “It will be rehearsed in the morning, ready for the opening tomorrow night…” he finished as Bibble stuttered “But, my dear Duke, that will be quite impossible” he replied as Padme looked down then she shook her head, “Sio, the poor Duke is being treated appallingly” she cut in, moving down the stairs on the stage, “These silly writers let their imaginations run away with themselves” she went on, “Now why don’t you and I have a little supper, and then we can tell Monsieur Bibble how we prefer the story to end, hm?” she smiled at the Duke while behind them, nearby, Anakin stood, feeling betrayed by Padme’s sudden actions.
As everyone broke for the afternoon, Padme had not seen Anakin since she had kind of betrayed him by saying to the Duke, she would spend dinner with him tonight. She made her way down the stairs backstage, before a voice stopped her, “I don’t want you to sleep with him” they told her as Padme turned and saw Anakin moving out of the shadows, she moved closer to him, “He could destroy everything” she whispered, looking around to make sure no one was secretly watching them, “It’s for us” she assured him, “You promised” she reminded him, moving closer so that she cold whisper in his ear, “You promise me, you wouldn’t be jealous” she repeated, looking back down the hall, “He’s waiting” she added, starting to move off but Anakin, who was overcome with sadness, pulled her back, “No, no” he replied, looking down as she looked at him, before she whispered, “Come what may” as he looked back up, his beautiful blue eyes piercing through her’s, “Come what may” he repeated, before moving off, leaving Padme standing them. What had she done? Has she truly broken her heart for money?
[Is this getting interesting for you? What will happen now? Is Anakin and Padme’s love broken for good? Will the Duke feel he has succeed in making Padme fall in love with him? Stay reading!]

Chapter 10
Another small note: during the singing and dancing paragraphs, it jumps from the dance hall to where Padme and the Duke is because that’s how the movie goes, so warning you, it could get confusing but I am doing the best I can to get this right]
She had gone to the Tower to save us all, and for our part, we could nothing but wait.
The dance hall was very quiet, so quiet that only the sound of a pin dropping or a cough could be heard. As the dancers and musicians sat lazing around, not knowing if they would have to rehearsal a new ending for tomorrow night. Anakin made his way over to his friends sitting nearby, still too betrayed by Padme’s actions, while at the same time, Padme had arrived at the Tower and entered the dark, dimly lit room, she wore a dark purple, black dress with long, shiny black gloves on her hands and a black dotted see through veil over her face, she eyed the Duke standing nearby, she whispered, “My dear Duke. I hope I have not kept you waiting” she told him, pulling back the veil to reveal her deep, dark brown eyes.
Anakin was so overcome with shock that he was drinking down his drinks, grabbing another one on the table, he drank it in one go and was too occupied with the drinks, that he did not see Sabe come up behind him, until she put her hand on his shoulder and flung herself into his lap and stared deeply into his hard blue eyes, “Don’t worry Shakespeare” she told him, “You’ll get your ending” she went on as he started to become angry with her near him, “Once the Duke gets his’s” she went on, smirking, her friends nearby smiling, “End-in” she finished, that caused Anakin to have enough with her and pushed her off him which caused a barrel of commotion between them and Obi Wan moved to intervene as Sabe yelled back at Anakin, “You keep your hands off me!” as Obi Wan calmed her back down and Anakin quickly stood up and move to the side.
Obi Wan looked back over Anakin, still standing the side, he slowly moved over to him, he informed him, “Never fall in love with a woman who sells herself” he told him, “It always ends bad!” he exclaimed, in Anakin’s face as Anakin looked around and found the whole hall staring at them including Yoda, who had backed further into his seat.
Padme moved over to the blazing fireplace in the middle of the room, “The boy has a ridiculous obsession with me” she laughed, “I mean, I indulge his fantasies because he’s talented” she went on, before turning back to the Duke, “We need him, but only until tomorrow night” she smirked.
Obi Wan moved away from Anakin and Sabe and down the flight of stairs leading to the dance floor, “We have a dance!” he announced, “In the brothels of Buenos Aires” he went on, clicking his fingers, the piano player began to play a small tune, as Obi Wan moved more into the centre of the floor, “It tells the story, of the prostitute!” he shouted and a light came over Sabe, her eyes met his’s and all the male dancers roared with delight as she stumbled laughing down the stairs, “And the man who falls in love with her” he finished, moving over so that they stood not too far about from each other, before circling each other as a light soft tune filled the hall.
Anakin slowly moved along the upper floor not too far from where Obi Wan was, eying them off, Obi Wan’s loud voice filled the room once again, “First, there is desire. Then passion!” he shouted, spinning Sabe around, “Then passion!” he pulled her in closer, before she eyed another male dancer over his shoulder, he pulled her back, grabbing her hand tight, “Then suspicion!” her face began to clinch as he gripped her tighter, “Jealousy, Anger, Betrayal!” he spun her around again before driving her back, “When love is for the highest bidder, there can be no trust. Without trust, there can be no love!” he went on, letting go over Sabe, who held her wrist in pain as the male dancer came up behind her, and Obi Wan moved off, “Jealously, yes, jealously will drive you mad!” he exclaimed as Anakin could feel his blood boiling and his eyes twitching in anger.
Meanwhile, alone with the Duke, in the Gothic Tower, Padme sat on a cushy lounge chair with the Duke sitting opposite her and they shared a romantic, tender kiss before they moved over to the dinner table.
“ROXANNE! You don’t have to put on that red light. Walk the streets for money. You don’t care if it’s wrong or if it is right” Obi Wan sang out loud as Sabe was overwhelmed with male dancers, all spinning her around, “ROXANNE! You don’t have to wear that dress tonight” “ROXANNE! You don’t have to sell your body to the night” as another lifted Sabe up into the air.
Anakin, observing all this little dance, started his own singing, all the while thinking of Padme and the Duke in close proximately with her, “His eyes upon your face” moving down to the dance floor, “His hand upon your hand” “His lips caress your skin” as he moved through the row of dancers now assembling on the dance floor, “IT’S MORE THAN I CAN STAND!”
Obi Wan still sings in the background as Anakin still goes on singing, “Why does my heart cry?” “ROXANNE!” Anakin moved through the dancers, “Feelings I can’t fight! You’re free to leave me but Just don’t deceive me!.....And please believe me when I say I LOVE YOU!” he stopped as he neared the exit, looking at the light coming from the Tower nearby.
The Duke slowly made his way down the long, decorated table to where Padme sat. She looked so beautiful against the backdrop of the darkness, she still shined, The Duke broke the silence, “When this production succeeds, you will no longer be a can can dancer” he informed her, coming down to her level and whispering into his ear, “An actress, I will make you a star” he added, as she gasped. He summoned one of his waiters standing nearby with a large box in his hands over and placed it on the table in front of her.
It was a beautiful, sparkling, diamond, sapphire necklace, Padme placed a soft hand on her neck, staring up at Duke, as he lifted the necklace out of the box and placed it around her small neck, making it sparkle, “A gift. From his maharajah to his courtesan” he whispered to her as Padme gasped, it was a beautiful gift, she rose to her feet, “Then the ending…” she started as he whispered in her ear, “Let Bibble keep his fairytale ending” he replied.
“Roxanne!” Obi Wan sung out, as Sabe moved towards the other side of the hall. Palo and Rabe who had been observing from a higher point, didn’t like what had been happening and without Rabe, knowing, Palo sipped away from the “entertainment” as Anakin moved outside the hall and slowly through the street, “Why does my heart cry?” “ROXANNE!” “Feelings I can’t fight! You’re free to leave me but Just don’t deceive me!....And please believe me when I say I LOVE YOU!” he stopped right outside the Tower and look up at the balcony to see two figures standing there, his heart started beating faster, knowing who it was. As the dancers inside, stopped and Obi Wan and Sabe stood on opposite ends of the floor.
Padme stood on the balcony, looking out at the sparkling city of Courscant, as The Duke kissed her neck and his hands were around her waist, she looked down to see Anakin staring up at her, she softly started to sing, “Come what may. I will love you, till my dying……day” titling her head to a side before she gasped, realizing who and what she really wanted, “No!” she exclaimed as The Duke looked up, “No?” he asked, before looking over her shoulder to se Anakin, slowly moving away, “Oh, I see. You’re very own penniless sitar player” he smirked as she moved away back inside and the Duke, felt the anger swell in him, following her inside, closing the glass doors behind him as she gasped, spinning around she breathed, “Dear Duke” she tried to speak but he moved and grabbed her wrists, forcing her down as he towered over her, “Silence!” he yelled, “You made me believe that you loved me” he cried out as she breathed out, “No” she whispered.
Obi Wan stared over at Sabe, the male dancers clutched onto the female dancers and The Duke held onto Padme’s wrists, eying the stunning necklace around her neck. Ripping it from her neck, he dropped her to the ground, she screamed as Anakin opened the door to his room, “Why does my heart cry?” “ROXANNE! You don’t have to put on that red light! You don’t have to wear that dress night ROXANNE!” Obi Wan moved across the floor as Sabe found her self watching the scene take a violent turn, female dancers scattered to get away from the floor, males moved over to Sabe. “You don’t have to put on that red light. ROXANNE! You don’t have to wear that dress tonight!” “ROXANNE!” as the dancers formed a circle around a frightened Sabe with Obi Wan standing in between them, “ROXANNE!”
Anakin stood on his small balcony, staring out over the city, “Feelings I can’t fight!” as Obi Wan echoed through the hall, “ROXANNE! ROXANNE!” as Anakin went on, “I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you!”
The Duke had chased Padme all throughout the room, the table decorations and plates went all over the floor, she was suddenly terrified for her life, the diamond necklace now laying on the floor, as she tried to escape the Duke, who had ripped off her dress to reveal a lacy, black corset, but he was too overwhelm with anger and jealously, grabbing her and throwing her onto the large, soft bed as she crawled back more to get away from him, her bright, now terrified brown eyes staring at him, afraid of what he was about to do, when suddenly, he fell down onto the bed, out cold and Palo, emerged from the dark and Padme, slowly pulled herself, breathing hard as he looked over at the now, unconscious Duke before they quickly fled the Tower.
The dance floor had become all to quiet again like nothing had happened as Anakin stayed near the open door to his balcony, wishing that he did not see Padme on the balcony of the Gothic Tower.
His door slammed open and Anakin looked up, to see Padme, limping slightly to him and crying, throwing her arms around his neck, “I couldn’t, I saw you there and I couldn’t” she cried, “And the Duke, he saw it and he…” as he stared at her, holding her close, “And I couldn’t. I don’t want to pretend anymore, I don’t want to lie. I don’t want to…but the Duke he saw, he saw” she told him, crying into his shirt as Anakin held her soft face, looking into her soft, red brown eyes, “That’s alright, you don’t have to pretend anymore. We’ll leave, we’ll leave tonight” he informed her as she looked at him, confused, “Leave?... But the show?” she asked as he smiled, “I don’t care about the show. We have each other. That’s all that matters” he assured her, bringing a smile to her sad face, “We have each other” she whispered as they shared another kiss, seeing Palo over by the door, Anakin motioned to him, “Palo, take Miss Padme to her dressing room. No one must see you, you understand?” he asked, grabbing a coat, “I understand” Palo softly replied as Anakin threw the coat around Padme, who was shivering from the cold in her corset, “Darling, you go and pack and I’ll be waiting” he smiled at her as she giggled, pulling him in for one last, long passionate kiss before she left to pack her things.
The Duke, had angrily called Sio Bibble to his quarters in the Tower, where he was being treated for a slight cut above his left eye during his violent attack on Padme, Bibble stood off to the side, watching him, “It’s the boy. He has bewitched her with words. I want her back Bibble. Find her” he snarled, snapping at the assistant treating his injury, who moved away, “Tell her, that the show will go my way and she will come to me when the curtain falls. Or I’ll have the boy killed” he informed him as Bibble blinked twice, “Killed?” he repeated as he turned to see The Duke’s bodyguard Antilles move into the light, looking from the Duke to Bibble, The Duke stared firmly straight ahead, “Killed” he simply replied.
[Well! How was that for a surprise take on the story? Will Padme run away with Anakin before the Duke and Sio Bibble find out or will Bibble get to her before she can and ‘persuade’ her to stay and leave Anakin, for his own good? Stay reading!]

Chapter 11
Padme scrambled around her dressing room, packing her shining jewellery into their boxes, she fumbled around the dressing room, only in her black laced corset, the long black coat from Anakin, hanging by the door, she looked up into the mirror, gasping when she saw the reflection of Bibble standing against the back wall, she quickly twisted around to met his gaze before moving to the other side of the room. “Forgive the intrusion” he softly spoke as Padme calmly replied, “You’re wasting your time, Sio” reaching for a soft, light, white grown, “Stop it” he snapped as she moved back to the mirror, adjusting her hair, “You don’t understand. The Duke is going to kill Anakin” he went on, as Padme gasped, looking up into the round mirror in front of her, “No” she breathed, as Bibble continued, “The Duke is insanely jealous” he told her, “Unless you do his ending and sleep with him tomorrow night. The Duke will have Anakin killed” as Padme just wiped the tears away as Bibble moved his eyes over to her as she slowly walked in front of him, “He can’t scare us” she informed him as Bibble reminded her of just how tough the Duke was, “He’s a powerful man. You know he can do it” he spoke as Padme suddenly was filled with anger and threw her white grown off in anger, “What are you doing!?!” he exclaimed as she hasted her steps, “I don’t need you anymore!” grabbing Anakin’s coat and putting it on, “All my life you made me believe I was only worth what someone would pay for me!” she shouted, before breaking out in tears, “But Anakin loves me. He loves me, Sio. And that is worth everything!” she cried before regaining herself, “We’re going away from you, away from the Duke, away from the Moulin Rouge!” she exclaimed before forcing a smile, “Goodbye Sio” she added, moving over to the open door where she had entered from, ready to head back to Anakin, not before Sio dropped the worse news of all.
A lump forming in his throat as he slowly moved forward, he spoke, “You dying, Padme” seeing her gasp and paused at the entrance to the dressing room, “You’re dying” he repeated, after a long silence, Padme asked, “Another trick, Sio?” as he looked straight at her froze form, “No, my love. The medical droid told us” he replied as Padme turned back over her shoulder to where her assistant Sola stood, “Sola?” she asked, but Sola was too upset to reply and just stood there, holding back the tears, in silence. As Padme felt the tears flow, the words rang in her head, “I’m dying” as she started to sing softly to herself, “I was a fool to believe, a fool to believe” as she silently moved back into the dressing room, over to where her beautiful bird flew around in it’s cage, “It all ends today, yes it all ends today” as she stared straight, Sola watching her closely as Bibble broke the silence, “Send Anakin away. Only you can save him” as Padme remained strong, “He will fight for me” she replied as he nodded, “Yes, unless he believe that you don’t love him” he assured her, “What?” she breathed, before the tears fell down her soft, pale cheeks, “You’re a great actress, Padme. Make him believe that you don’t love him” he went on as Padme fought back the tears, “No!” she argued, “Use your talents to save him” he pressured her, “Hurt him, Padme. Hurt him to save him. There is no other way. The show must go on. We are creatures of the underworld. We can’t afford to love” he reminded her as she felt the tears fall again, before she could only sing, “Today’s the day…..” then Bibble joined in with her, “When dreaming ends”
Behind the curtain of the dance hall, the atmosphere was quiet and full of sadness as Sio Bibble made his way through to the stage, thinking about Padme, broken hearted and now knowing she was dying. He slowly spoke as he made his way along the long hallway, “Another hero. Another mindless crime, Behind the curtain, in the pantomime, On and on” as he made his way up the long stairs, he continued, “On and on” “Does anybody know what we are living for” as costumes makers sat nearby, started to join in, “Whatever happens. We leave it all to chance. Another heartache, Another failed romance. On and on”, “Does anybody know what we are living for” as Bibble reached the entrance to the stage, the music started up and had became louder, “The Show must go on. The Show must go on” he made his way down the aisle to the front doors, “Outside the dawn is breaking, On the stage that holds Our final destiny” “The Show must go on! The Show must go on!”
Padme, heartbroken and full of sadness, prepared herself to go and speak with Anakin, softly singing to herself as she finished up, “Inside my heart is breaking. My make up may be flaking” she pulled down her see through dotted small black veil, before holding her head up high, “But my smile still stays on” before moving out of her dressing room, down the long, now loud hallway to the stage.
“The Show must go on! The Show must go on!” Bibble exclaimed as Padme emerged on to the stage, the beautiful, sparkling red curtain fell into place behind her, she started, “I’ll top the bill. I’ll earn the kill. I have to find the will to carry on, On with the, On with the. On with the show” slowly moving down the small stairs and down the aisle as Bibble continued, “On with the SHOW! On with the SHOW!” he stared at the quiet, figure of Padme, watching her raise her hand, The Show must, The show must go on!” he finished as she held her head high and swiftly walked right past him and onto Anakin’s place.
Anakin stood right by his open window, still awaiting Padme’s return so they could run away together. He was becoming concerned because she had not shown up, little did he know his life was about to come crashing down as the sound of the door knob turning. Twisting around, he saw the stunning Padme standing in there, dressed in a long, gorgeous gray dress with hat and small veil over her face, he knew something was wrong so he had to ask, “What’s wrong?” as she breathed lightly, “I’m staying with the Duke” she answered him, seeing his shocked expression on his face, “After I left you, the Duke came to see me and offer me everything. Everything I’ve ever dreamed of” she told him, “He has one condition-I must never see you again” she finished before she moved over to the fireplace next to her, “I’m sorry” she whispered, as Anakin moved over to her, “What are you talking about?” he reminded “He knew who I was” she went on as Anakin cut in, “What are you saying? What about what we said last night?” he reminded her as she spun around from her place near the fireplace, “I didn’t expect you to understand. The difference between you and I is that you can leave anytime you choose. But this is my home” she replied, “The Moulin Rouge is my home” Padme strongly told him, as Anakin was too shocked to believe what he was hearing, “No. There must be something else. This can’t be real” he told her as she stood with her back to him, he was noticing her change in character and went on, “There’s something else the matter. Tell me what it is. Tell me what’s wrong. Tell me the truth!” he pleaded with her, holding her so she couldn’t leave as she was nearly struggling to leave before she looked into his loving blue eyes and firmly replied, “The truth?” she asked, as he looked straight into her eyes with his eyes piercing through her’s, “The truth is that I am the Alderaan courtesan…and I choose the maharajah” she answered him, “That’s how the story really ends” she added, as he released his grip on her and she swiftly left the room. Outside the storm was breaking down on the city but all Anakin could feel was his heart breaking in two. Words rang in his head, “Jealously has driven him mad!” they exclaimed as Anakin felt himself crumble as a tearful Padme made her way back to the Moulin Rouge and a evil now cheerful Duke smirked to himself in the Gothic Tower as the thunder banged loudly in the sky.
Anakin ran out along the long, empty, now wet with rain streets until he was at the entrance to the Moulin Rouge, not caring of he was soaked to the bone, he shouted with all his might, “Padme!” “Padme!” he shouted again, attracting the attention of two guards nearby, who dragged him by the arms away from the premise, “No! Padme!” he cried before one slapped him hard across the face, than pushed him hard to the cold, concrete pavement where Anakin looked dazed before falling unconscious as the rain continued to soak him.
Yoda, Obi Wan and his two other friends had been heading from the Moulin Rouge when they saw an unconscious Anakin lying in the rain and slowly and carefully, they carried him back to his place, laying him softly on the bed, placing warm blankets around him and applying treatment to his wounds from where he had hit the pavement hard as he slept on the bed.
After an hour, Anakin found himself back on his bed, with a warm, cosy blanket wrapped around him, he stared out through his window from his bed, as Yoda sat next to him, “Things aren’t always as they seem” Yoda assured him before Anakin corrected him, “Things are exactly the way they seem, “Anakin you may see me only as a drunken, vice-ridden gnome whose friends are just pimps and girls from the brothels. But I know about art and love, if only because I long for it with every fiber of my being” Yoda explained to him, “She loves you. I know it I know she loves you” he went on before Anakin only replied, “Go away, Yoda, leave me alone” as Yoda looked sincere and sad at this, “Go away” he repeated before snapping, “Go away!” as Yoda stood up, reached from his coat and sadly left, leaving Anakin alone on the bed.
I wanted to shut out what Yoda had said but he filled me with doubt and there was only one way to be sure.
As night fell on Courscant, Anakin stood in a nearby store, in a long, warm, black coat over his outfit, selling his holo type writer in exchange for money and stepped out in the quiet, dark streets, I had to know, staring down the street to the brightly lit and colourful Moulin Rouge and he slowly turned to make his way towards the building, So I returned to the Moulin Rouge, one……last…..time.
[Well how was this for you? If you haven’t been hooked by now, in the next chapter you will be? How was Anakin’s appearance at the Moulin Rouge changed everything? Remember The Duke’s words, if he came back to take Padme, he would killed, so will he or will he capture Padme’s heart once and for all? Not giving anything away but it going to be one bumpy ride!]

Chapter 12
Note: The first song in this chapter, after searching the internet for the words, I found them but it may look all jumble but these are the words sung in the movie but don’t let that stop you from reading. The song is not all posted up because like in the movie, I explain where Anakin is while the song is on]
The audience had filed in and was now anxiously awaiting the start of the play. The red curtain was closed and the audience were chattering amongst themselves when suddenly puffs of smoke filled the front of the stage and out of the smoke was Sio Bibble, the evil Maharajah, had started, “She is mine!!” and with that, the red curtains pulled back to reveal a beautifully decorated set with lots of colourful dancers, not to far but in the middle, was Yoda as the sitar player’s player, with his lines, in normal voice, “I only speak the truth. I only speak the truth. I only speak the truth” before he got louder, “I only speak the truth, I only speak the truth, I only speak the truth, I only speak the truth, I only speak the…” then Sabe, Rabe, Eirtae and thousands of other dancers spun around in their costumes, moving forward with their dance, “Chamma, chamma, re chamma chamma” “Chamma chamma baaje re meri paejaniyaan”
Captivated with the show, no one was backstage to see two small windows pop open and Anakin stick his head through, looking down the long hallway to find it empty, crawling through, he jumped down and crept his way down the hallway. As The Duke’s bodyguard, Antilles was stationed nearby, through he saw a lone figure down the end of the hallway and moved over to check it out. Anakin saw him coming and was too quick, ducking behind a small wall, seeing him move the other way, he jumped across underneath the stairs as Antilles slowly moved back, Anakin breathed deeply and carefully proceeded underneath the stairs towards the stairs.
The dancers proceeded in their song, [Eh, chamma chamma] [Chamma chamma baaje re meri chamma] Oh yeah, yeah….oh uo uo…]” “(Baaje re meri paejaniyaan) (Baaje re meri paejaniyaan)” “Tere paas aaun teri Saanson mein samaun teri” “Tere paas aaun teri Saanson mein samaun raja!”
The entire hall became dark, as the audience rose to their feet, loudly applauding and cheering and the Duke’s eyes became fixed on the rising figure up onto the stage, it was beautiful sparkling diamond Padme dressed in a beautiful, stunning two piece costume, a beautiful blue colour, “Oooo….Oooooo…..ooooo……ooooo…..ooooo” she started to loudly sing, as dazzling well dressed male dancers swarmed over to her, helping her down, as she reached the floor, she began to lightly cough, Bibble’s eyes froze with horror but Padme regained herself and started her song and dancing, “Kiss…, hand….” “Diamonds…, best friend…” “Kiss…, grand….” Diamonds…, best friend…” she wiggled her small, slim waist as male dancers circled her while Bibble turned to look at the Duke, who grinned in agreement.
Anakin had reached an area underneath the stairs where he could view the stage and he saw the beautiful Padme dancing, moving his head forward to have a look, he quickly pulled back before someone spotted him and moved on.
Padme moved around in the small circle she stood in, getting down, to lay on the cold stage, “Men cold…,” “Girls old…” she jumped up, her shiny, glittering brown hair bouncing behind her, “And we all lose our charms in the end…” now standing, moving backwards as the dancers lifted her and down, “Oooooooooh…….” as all the other dancers carried her, joining, “Diamonds are the…, Diamonds are the…., Diamonds are the…., Diamonds are the…., Diamonds are the…., Diamonds are the…, Diamonds are the…,” singing even slowly as a small, diamond necklace was placed around Padme’s necklace, sparkling in the darkness and small spotlight, “Diamonds are the….” As Padme made her way to the front of the stage, alone, singing “girl’s….best…friend….” as Bibble moved behind her and placed his arms around her, her head turned away to the side, “She is mine” Bibble spoke deeply as The Duke muttered to himself, “She is mine” as the curtain closed, to reveal the end of Act 1, with the audience applauding with delight.
While everybody hurried about ready for the second part of the show, Yoda and Obi Wan moved up the stairs ready for their appearance of stage, Yoda still believed that Anakin and Padme had a chance together, “I know she still loves him, there just has to be a reason” he told Obi Wan as Obi Wan pointed out, “It’s like, one is a Duke and the other” he didn’t finish as he fell asleep, rolling back down the stairs, but Yoda didn’t notice, still talking, “Though you agree something is wrong” he muttered.
An unconscious Obi Wan rolled right back down, right in front of a shocked Anakin, who jumped back, making sure he was unconscious. He suddenly had an idea as to how he could get to Padme without being noticed too much.
The show had started Act two, which had become the more dramatic plot of the play as Bibble loudly spoke, “I raise high my ceremonial wedding values and join with us in celebration!”
Padme was preparing for her next appearance on stage, but too overcome with her coughing, not knowing that Anakin was racing towards her. He had sneakily taken Obi Wan’s costume and placed it on him, to avoid suspicion.
Yoda, perched high above the stage, was thrilled with how it was going, “What a magnificent performance” as Sola was treating Padme with some liquid to calm her down, “A bit more for me lovely” pouring some into her mouth, “There, that’s a girl” Sola told her making Padme feel much better.
Antilles had spied Anakin running alone, so running over to Bibble, he pulled him back, “The boy’s here” he snarled as Bibble became worried, “I told Padme if Anakin were to come here, he would be killed” he replied, “He very soon will be” Antilles assured him, swiftly moving away, unaware that Yoda had overheard their conversation, “Killed? That’s it that why she was pushing him away to save him” he muttered, “Anakin!” he exclaimed, as he hoisted up, “I’ve gone this far up” he noted.
Padme was fixing herself up in the mirror when a lone figure stepped into view at the door, she gasped, stepping back against the wall, “I’ve come to pay my bill” Anakin simply told her as she held her gaze with him, “You shouldn’t be here, Anakin” she replied, briskly walking past him, “Just leave” she told him, but he could feel the anger brewing inside of him, and hurried after her.
High above the stage, Yoda made his way, looking down to see if he could see Anakin or anyone, “Killed, killed. I must warn him” he was muttering.
Anakin caught up to Padme, she gasped, as he pulled her back, “You made me believe that you love me” he angrily told her, “What will I pay you?” he asked, as Padme pleaded with him, “Please Anakin” she whispered as he held Sola’s voice behind him, “She’s got to get on the stage” she angrily snapped.
Bibble had re-emerged back on stage, continuing with the play, “Jealously has driven the sitar player into hiding!” he announced as the audience watched with interception
Anakin had ignored Sola and continued to chased Padme, getting close enough to her to whisper into her ear, “You did your job so very, very well!” as Sola ran over to Bibble’s assistant, “The boy’s chasing Padme, quick!” she told him.
“Why can’t I pay you like everyone else does!” he exclaimed, running up the stairs after her as she turned to look directly into his eyes, “No, Anakin, there’s no point. Just leave” she cried, nearly out of breath as she made her way to her stage position, Anakin hot on her heels, and Bibble’s assistant after Anakin, “Stop him! Stop him!” he was shouting as a stage hand tried to stop him but Anakin knocked him back, still pursing Padme, who was right at the entrance when she glanced down the end of the hallway, to see Antilles glaring down at them, she screamed, seeing him racing towards them, with his gun held out in front of him, “Go, go” Padme cried as Yoda saw him approach and tried to yell, “Anakin! Anakin!”
“Open the door!” Bibble was declaring while behind the set, there was chaos, Yoda was trying to be heard, Padme was trying to push Anakin away, but he wouldn’t budge, “Let me pay!” he shouted as Antilles edged closer and closer, Padme was crying with fresh, clear tears rolling down her cheeks, “Go” she kept telling him, as Bibble saw a stage hand staring out at him, “Open the door” he grittered through his teeth, he quickly moved over and began to open the door.
Bibble slowly took two steps down the steps as the giant golden arch doors began to slowly open, to Padme and Anakin as Anakin screamed to Padme, "Tell me you don't love me!" as there was a suddenly flash of bright light and then everything and everyone went silent.
[Who was expecting that thrilling ending? What has happened now? Was a shot fired? Is Anakin’s life in great danger more than ever, will Padme find true love? What will the Duke do now that Anakin is here? Plus, a surprise ending to the play! How does it happen? Stay reading!]

Chapter 13
Padme and Anakin stared out at the wave of confused faces of the audience and cast members of the play, holding each other’s hands as Bibble looked over at the Duke, who looked back at him with a look of I-thought-he-had-left-why-is-he-here?, as Bibble quickly moved forward, laughing, “Ha, ha! I am not fooled. Though he has shaved off his beard and wearing a disguise!” he announced as Anakin looked out in bewilderment at the crowd, “My eyes do not lie, for it is he, the same penniless sitar player!” he went on, as the audience sighs in acknowledgment, “Driven mad by jealousy!” he concludes.
Yoda watching from his position, sees Antilles move along the back way, to find a higher position to finish off Anakin as Yoda then watched Padme and Anakin, muttering, “What? No!”
Anakin slowly pulls Padme abruptly down the stairs before she falls to the ground, gasping for breath as Anakin stared out over the audience before looking back at Padme, “This woman is yours now!” he declared, throwing money down in front of her, “I’ve paid my prostitute!” he shouted as the audience gasped, then he turned to Padme, who looked up at him, in tears, “I owe you nothing. And you are nothing to me” he informed her, “Thank you for curing me of me ridiculous obsession with love” he finished, choking back on the tears and moved down the stairs, stopping in front of the Duke, glaring at him before continuing down the aisle way slipping off the long white cloak he ‘borrowed’ along the way.
Padme looks out at the moving figure of Anakin as Yoda suddenly came to a realisation that was important to the play, “I can’t remember my line” he softly muttered to himself.
Bibble slowly made his way back to the sad figure of Padme, “This sitar player doesn’t love you” he announced, “See, he flees the kingdom!” he finished, kneeing down in front of Padme, “Pumpkin, it’s for the best” he whispered, holding her soft, pale hand, “You know it is. The show must go on” he told her as she shakes her head in disagreement as he spoke loudly, “And now my bride, it is time for you to raise your voice to the heavens and say your wedding vows!” helping her up as Antilles, who had climbed to a higher position, pulled back as Anakin kept moving down the aisle way.
Yoda suddenly jumped when he remembered his line, “I’ve got it! I’ve got it! Anakin!” he shouted, tripping over the platform he was standing on, now hanging off it, screaming, “The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return!” as everyone looked around the hall in wonderment at where this voice was coming from-Bibble, Padme, Antilles, The Duke and Anakin, stopped walking until the voice finished.
Padme suddenly blinked and she remembered what that line meant to her, slowly turning her head, slowly and gently starting to sing, “Never knew, I could feel like this” as Anakin listened but kept moving, “Like I’ve never seen the sky before” “Want to vanish inside your kiss” “Everyday I’m loving you more and more” as she moved towards the front of the stage as Anakin stopped and slowly turned back around, “Listen to my heart” “Can you hear it sings” “Come back to me, And forgive everything!” she screamed, before gasping for breath as the audience gasped while the Duke gritted his teeth in anger, as Padme slowly started again as Anakin stared at her, “Seasons may change, winter to spring…..I love you…..til the end of time” she finished as the audience awes in delight as Anakin just stares at her, in her long, stunning white dress, her shiny brown hair in curls down her back, realizing that she really did love him
Anakin slowly started, “Come what may” as Padme smiled through her tears and everyone turned to address him as he went on, “Come what may” making his way down the aisle way, picking up the pace as he got closer to the stage, “Come what may…Come what may! I will love you” as Padme beamed brightly, “I will love you” she replied as Anakin smile beamed across his face, “until my dying…” as she joined in, “….dying” “day! Come what may!” they sang “Come what may” “Come what may” until Anakin climbed the stairs, facing Padme, who placed her arms around his neck as he placed his arms around her slim waist, “I will love you until my dying…”
Unaware of his presence crawling through to peer the side stage, cocking his gun but Yoda saw him first and grabbed onto one of the curtain pulls, swinging down, “Anakin! He’s got a gun!” he knocked it out of his hand, sliding across the stage as Padme and Anakin twisted their heads in his direction with horror looks on their faces as Yoda redeemed himself, “He’s trying to kill you!” he exclaimed as the audience just laughed, thinking it was all part of the play, “Shut up!” Bibble shouted as Yoda pointed out, “Look! He’s got a gun! He’s a murderer!” he told them as Anakin held closely onto Padme as Bibble went on “Guards! Seize them!” as another spoke up and suddenly the whole stage erupted into chaos, with dancers scrambled around the set, Antilles trying to get to his gun and aiming at Anakin but Sabe screamed as the door flew open again and he went rolling down the stage as Obi Wan stood there, “No problem! Go back to work!” he declared as Yoda sang towards the Duke, “No matter what you say” as everybody else joined in, “The show is ending our way!” “Stand your ground: For freedom, beauty, truth and love” as everyone started dancing around as Antilles tried to get to his gun while the Duke was losing his patience, “No, you won’t fool the Children of the Revolution, No; you won’t fool the Children of the Revolution”
As everybody sang the cheerful song, Padme and Anakin added their own songs to the singing, “One day I’ll fly away” Padme sang, one arm around Anakin and another in the air as Anakin held onto Padme and raised his other hand in the air, “My gift is my song” while others sang, “No, you won’t fool the Children of the Revolution, No, you won’t fool the Children of the Revolution”
Antilles worked his way through the musicians, hiding behind one of the instruments, creeping towards to the gun, while everybody was distracted doing their dancing, except for Rabe, who crept away, grabbing a heavy bag high above where he was, willing to stop him. “One day I’ll fly away” “My gift is our song” Anakin smiled at Padme, “Come what may!” looking into her eyes as Rabe dropped the bag on Antilles’s head, causing the gun to go flying and the set erupted with colour and excitement as a furious Duke stood on his feet and stormed off, stopping when he heard a clang behind him.
Anakin and Padme both sang together, outstretching themselves, holding each other’s hands, “Yes, I will love you!” as they were lifted onto some of the male dancers shoulders, circling each other “Come what may!” as Yoda, Obi Wan, Sabe and Eirtae circled the loving couple, “I will love you!” as the Duke stared at the gun on the cold, hard floor, picking it up, running towards the stage, declaring, “My way! My way! My way! My way!” while Padme and Anakin circled each other, smiles lit their faces, all singing, “Until my dying day!” then Bibble punched the Duke, sending him back on the ground and the gun flying out a nearby window into the night sky of Courscant.
Anakin and Padme were back on the ground, holding each other tightly together and everyone around them, before the golden decorated red curtain closed down as the audience jumped to their feet, wildly applauding at the same time as the Duke sat there, knowing that he had lost-Padme revealed her true love-for a writer!
How was this chapter? If you think it has finished, you’d be wrong! There is still one more issue that you will find out what it is, in the next chapter of a hidden love! One hint: you may want the tissue handy!]

Chapter 14
The audience could still be heard cheering for more, they loved the play, everyone was smiling, but no more than Anakin, who finally had Padme in his arms again, as the red and white confetti strands fell from above, Bibble’s assistant walked out in front of everyone, “Stand by for curtain call!” he announced, “Dancers positions please” he added as Sola made her way up the stairs to the stage, Anakin was so happy, he was smiling from ear to ear, planting a loving kiss on Padme’s sweet lips before he held her soft hand, leading her backstage, when something unplanned something.
Padme lifted her head back to the roof, her mouth gasped open, as Anakin looked over at her, his smile turned to horror as he quickly held onto her, “Padme!” Padme!” he exclaimed as she started to cough, “Padme, what’s the matter?” he asked, his voice in a state of panic, while Bibble who had heard something wrong, slowly turned to see Padme fall to the ground, landing in Anakin’s arms.
Holding her close, hearing her gasp for air, he kept asking, “Darling, what’s the matter?”, “Padme, what’s the matter?” keeping her warm and close to him, his eyes suddenly went wide with horror when he saw blood seeping from her mouth and with two fingers, he stared at it on his fingers, before anxious turning his head, he shouted, “Somebody get some help!” as Bibble spun around to his assistant, “Fetch the medical droid!” he shouted to his assistant who rushed off as quickly as he could.
Padme finally held her head so she could look at Anakin’s sweet, sad face, “I’m sorry Anakin. I am……I am” she started to whispered, as Yoda slowly lifted his head, “I am…dying” she managed to tell him, “I am so sorry” she cried, as just Anakin shook his head slowly, “No, you’ll be alright. You’ll be alright” he assured her as Anakin’s friend including Obi Wan just looked on, overcome with shock and sadness.
Padme stared into Anakin’s sweet blue eyes, she whispered, “I am cold. Hold me” she asks Anakin to do, pulling her in closer, then pulling back to see a slight smile on her face, which made him smile, “You got to go on Anakin” she whispered as he could feel the tears swell up in his eyes, “Can’t go on without you” he told her as she gave another half smile, “You’ve got so much to give” she told him, she slowly lifted a hand and touched his soft, gentle face, “Tell our story Anakin” she told him, “Promise me. Promise me” she pleaded with him as the small, clear tears fell down his cheeks, “That way, I’ll-I’ll always be with you” she whispered as Anakin kept his strong hold on her, he shared one last kiss with his beloved Padme before she was gone, her life dwindled away forever.
Everyone was too overcome with sadness, lowering their heads in respect-Palo, Bibble, Sola and Yoda as they all stared at Anakin, who knelt on the cold, hard stage floor cradling the woman he loved.
The audience still stood on their feet applauding for more as The Duke made a slow exit from the dance floor, unaware what had happened behind the curtain.
Anakin’s cries filled the room, rocking Padme’s body back and forth, looking down at her still form, he cried out in pain, he never loosened his grip on her as her soft, body lied still in his arms-Anakin just cried-he couldn’t believe she had been taken from him so fast.
There were only two sounds-the audience cheering for more and Anakin’s cries for Padme.
The night cast a dark shadow over the city of Courscant as the cold air flew in over the city and one lone figure of the roof of the Moulin Rouge slowly sang “There was a boy. A very, strange enchanted boy”
Chapter 15
Many weeks later, Courscant looked so much different especially in the entertainment district; the Moulin Rouge had closed down, causing everyone to move on as well as Yoda, Obi Wan and their other two friends had left for new chances in work, only Anakin remained in his apartment.
On his balcony was Padme’s beautiful green bird singing sweetly as Anakin just sat at his small table, typing on his holo typewriter, Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months. And then, one not-so-very- special day, I went to my typewriter, I sat down and I wrote our story. A story about a time, a story about a place, a story about the people. But above all things, a story about love. A love that will live forever. The End. Anakin stopped and looked at what at what he had typed-“The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return
That’s the end of a Hidden Love-A Star Wars/Moulin Rouge Crossover. What did everyone think? Share your comments; l would love to hear what you thought! How was the ending? Were you expecting a cheerful ending! Let me know
