I have a problem now that I have gotten into fanfic and read all your wonderful stories. That problem is that now the movies kind of fall flat for me. I am serious. I have always felt that fanfic was way better and more enjoyable than the EU, but now I am even seeing that your stories are more fun than the movies themselves. I will watch them now, consider the dialogue and storyline, and find myself asking 'is that it?' It's all your fault, fanfic writers. You have brought so much more feeling, detail, description and love to the characters, the way they were originally presented pale in comparsion. Your ideas and plots are so interesting I wonder why Lucas didn't think of them. You have taken the basic characters and stayed true to them, but elaborated and added new dimensions and made them more real. Oh, and your love dialogue sure blows the lid off 'you are so beautiful.' Now I can't help feeling a bit disappointed when I wastch the movies. So, thanks a lot!

Iknow what you mean, I watched AOTC the other night, it was on TV! Go figure... I have the DVD, but when I was flipping through channels I found it and watched it, commercials and all....... I love it though cause its when they fall in love.....
I've been wanting to watch ROTS, but I get soooooooo SAD at the end..... it is a good movie, but I rather read the stories here and the HAPPY ending for Anakin and Padme......

I watched it too. It's funny, even if you have the tape it's somehow more exciting to find it on TV.

I feel the very same way Annie! After reading all the stories here and on other fanfic sites, I find it very hard to enjoy the movies. They do all seem flat. Fanfic is often more enjoyable, because their are many possibilities. In fanfic, what you want can happen, and many have made happier endings for Anakin and other characters. Its so sad to watch Revenge of the Sith, to see how it all turns out for Anakin. Some stories have happier endings for Anakin, how it should and could have been. Some stories still have the same things happen to Anakin, but it usually turns out happier, with Anakin getting to see and speak to his children, or being redeemed from the dark side and still live. Not dying after he turns to the light. Their are so many possibilities. So many stories. Indeed, all of you have taken the characters from the saga and stayed true to them all, and like Annie said, elaborated and added new dimensions and made them much more real. And yes the love dialogue is amazing. Your stories and plots are amazing to read. George Lucas could learn a lot from all of you!
Couldn't agree with you more. It is a good movie, but I to would much rather read stories with a happy ending for Anakin and Padme, not a very sad and tragic ending. So yes, I to thank you all so much for all of wonderful stories you have written!
LOL, I don't feel the same way as that however. I can't watch movies on TV, way to many commericals.

I bought the DVD of ROTS when it first came out - but I've never yet watched the whole thing through. Even though I must have gone to the theater 10 to 15 times, I just can't watch now - it's too painful. The stories here are much more what I need - much better entertainment than something soooooo sad.

Well, I guess I'm different. I still enjoy the movies as much as ever. I still want to yell at Anakin not to trust Palpatine. I usually have to get right to ANH after watching ROTS, since Luke and Leia are the new hope and are on their way to defeating the Empire and Luke to redeeming Anakin.

I'm with you doubleagent I still enjoy the movies as much as ever, however it is not fun like they were before the prequels.
I'm thinking that will pass in time but Anakin turn and Padmes death are to raw in my psyche at this time.
It's a tragedy and sad and I watch ANH to pick my spirits up but seeing Anakin in that suit well.......
I do also enjoy the ff immensely as well. I don't like licensed EU at all. Just does not appeal to me.

I know how you feel. I still adore the films, but the thing is, when people write about anakin and padme so loveingly, Iit just makes you wish sooooo much that things indeed had been that way. i mean, in the films, you know that Padme is dead - and will never come back. Sure he is redeemed in the end - but lives are still ruined - including those of two children who should have grown up together with thier wonderful mother - and amazing father.
I guess its not that I like the films any less than I once did...rather I just find them too painful to watch. i shout at the screen and my heart breaks.
On the 'technical' side of things - yes I feel that the dialogue from many stories I have read - and the storylines themselves - are far superior to that of the film.
However, SW is SW - and without thefilms, we wouldnt have had a reason to enjoy the wonderful fanfic that it has spawned. Additionally, the tragedy of the films is what makes the fanfic so special! imean if ROTS had of had a happy ending, then our stories wouldnt have had as great an impact as what they have now.
