I thought of an interesting, almost funny, idea, but don't have the time or mental energy to devote to developing it. Anyone want to try? Even a short story?
It's like this: after ROTJ, Vader lives and is healed, but Leia never does forgive him so there are lots of disfunctional family dinners and hilarious episodes with everyone using the force to toss things around when they get mad. I'm not sure if Padme would be alive or not, if she were, that could be another issue. Suppose she was happily married to someone else, and Anakin was always stalking her. I know it's Jerry Springer and soap operaish, is it too degrading to the saga? What would you do with this idea? Write me a paragraph and let's have some fun with it?

I've experienced this before also: you got an idea, but your fingers or pen aren't following up. It's a kind of mental block, because you're aware that emotionally speaking, you're not ready yet to carry it out. It's a bit frustrating, I agree, but it's also part of the creative process, to determine which ideas are good to keep, and these to put to the trash. The other problem is that's you whom got this inspiration, Annie, none else. To get it written by somebody else could be differing very much from how you thought it all up, for perceptions are various. Don't count on me on that one ! Otherwise, what I mean is, just wait for it to develop a little bit more. Often, stories get better when given more thought, et may have changed a lot of how we first visualized them... Kisses, Sam.

Sounds funny, but I don't know, I agree it might be demeaning? "shrugs"

Okay, this went over like a lead balloon! Oh well! I have another wild idea I'll probably never get around to writing. It's a "Sound of Music" crossover. It would be an easy fit, the 'person of the cloth' falling in love against their training and struggling with that, the evil government getting ready to take over and the love interest being against it, could work? Or is this getting too ridiculous?
Outline/premise:
Anakin is the oddball rebel of the order, untrainable, 'how do you solve a problem' etc. Padme, her reign as queen over, married her love the dark haired artist and had 2 or 3 kids. He recently tragically died, breaking her heart. Anakin, of course, has loved her all along, and wasn't even around during the times of her marriage.
After many complaints from other Jedi, (Obi Wan is the only one who takes up for him, as Maria had one nun who did this for her) Yoda ('mother superior' character) sends Anakin on a mission to get him away from the Temple and give him time to consider if the Jedi life is truly right for him. He chooses the assignment of protecting Senator Padme and her children, whose lives have been threatened by the same terrorists who killed her husband. He also is a babysitter for the kids while she is at work. He becomes very close to them, and brings them fun and happiness they have lost since their mother turned cold after their father's murder.
Padme is being wooed by others for political and financial gain only, and Anakin, and the children, can sense this and want to help but can't interfere. Anakin is of course deeply in love with her, and she does eventually fall for him as well.
Then comes the takeover by Palps....and Padme is in trouble for not supporting it or flying the new flag of the Empire. She is commanded to join their ranks, or else.....
and of course, Anakin and the kids have something to say about that. They escape, running to the Temple for protection...but then the Clone Troopers of the Empire come there looking for them, and threaten to kill all the Jedi inside if they are not turned over! This is no time to sing about your favorite things. The excitement builds from there, can you guess how it will end?

I think you need to write these, Annie - they just sound so ... YOU. Like something you would write. Especially the first one. ;D

You've read my mind, for I thought the same thing, when I saw I didn't noticed at first that Annie had come up with her Sound of Music crossover, this morning ! And I liked especially better this second idea of hers to the first, it ringed good into my ears, this time . You may say I've given my seal of approval ;D! Kisses, Sam.
