Oh this is going to be good! I always wondered if he thought she looked and acted like Padme and would he notice that. This is going to be fun to read.

I like how you are showing us what he's thinking and feeling, and having to hide it all from Tarkin! Now that he knows, "Darth Vader" can't ever be the same. I wonder if he's going to find a way to save Alderaan, and how the events of ANH might change? Good idea, I like this angle!

I always felt he should have felt something familiar about Leia. A great flaw in the cannon story. Nice job here weaving the movie dialogue into the story.

I wondered if you were going to write a story starting from ANH, since you've already done ones starting from the other two OT movies. I'm glad you did - hopefully Alderaan can be saved.
I've read through chapter 4 - even though I'm trying to conserve the chapters (and should only be through chapter 2); I couldn't stop myself from reading more. So far Alderaan has a stay of execution; I just hope the Death Star can remain broken. Love how the movie dialogue and events fit what you've written; if it weren't for the fact that Alderaan gets blasted in the movie, I could believe this was really what went on (most especially it explains nicely Leia's resistance to the mind probe).
Still have chapter 5 to go tomorrow; hopefully you will post another chapter before Wednesday?

Okay, I am caught up now. Once again, I was only going to read the one chapter and couldn't stop myself from reading both.
But OMG! He was going to keep on pretending he had nothing to do with the escape (which he could have done like he did in the detention block), but NOW! Oh, no! Just as impulsive as he ever was! And I suspect they're going to Alderaan - I just hope they can't fix the Death Star!

I'm caught up now, this is GOOD! I love how they saved Alderaan, was that Vader using the force to break the device? He admitted he took her blood test and told her! And then he meets Luke, and Obi-Wan, and things are very different than the movie! He leaves with them! I'm so glad things are moving along this fast, I was wondering if she might not find out for many chapters. I can't wait to see where you're taking them now and how this is going to change everything! Please come back and update!

This is great! Just when I thought there couldn't be any more new AU ideas on Vader and his kids, who'd have ever guessed this? Vader on the Falcon, with Obi-Wan alive and stewing in his own mess getting caught in his lies? Leia nice and taking up for his father (nice to see that reaction instead of the hardcore, unforgiving Leia she usually is) And Luke, well! Vader drops the F bomb! What's he going to do?

I LOVE seeing all this come about waaaay out of order! Leia doesn't have the animosity she has if you play it through till the end because he didn't torture her or participate in Alderaan's destruction. Even if they manage to still blow the planet up, Vader isn't going to be complicit in the deed (though, if they do it soon, the point may be moot). But of course Luke has the same feelings about Vader he had in the original, because he still thinks his father is a good guy, killed by Vader. What a surprise he's getting! "Noooooooo!" Only Ben is right there to supply confirmation (and still in the flesh to receive the backlash!). And I love the friction between Vader and Han! Can't wait to see how this all works out!

Vader is a member of the rebel alliance and a traitor, take him away! So now it's Luke who won't accept Vader, and Han of course. I really, really liked Obi-Wan being put on the spot and having to answer not only to the kids but to Anakin's face (well, sort of, behind the mask) I only hope that the resentment the kids feel at their screwed over childhoods will be spread equally between Obi and Anakin/Vader, and that knowing about their mother now will help. Good to see no one fell for the 'certain point of view' justification. "Not quite the same thing as murder, is it?" I LOVE it!

You have the excellent ability to portray the characters at their level of development at a particular place in the story - Luke's reaction at this point is completely that of the callow, immature boy he was when he first left Tatooine (contrasted with Lucas's version where he'd had three years of military experience and more Jedi training with Yoda before the discovery). I somehow have the feeling the Obi-Wan and Anakin will be able to make up their differences before Luke will be able to accept it all (but, of course, you could write something to change that in a few moments). I'm wondering also how this will affect Luke's decision to become a Jedi (like his father and hero Ben), as now neither one of the men seems much of role model, and Luke hasn't even begun to train (aside from the short lesson with the remote on the way to Alderaan). In fact, Leia seems like the only one who understands the situation at all (which is an interesting contrast to how stories inevitably end up when they start with Alderaan already blown away).
Please post the next part!

I don't blame anyone for being suspicous that Vader might be just pretending to be nice to get the Death Star plans back, I'd probably think that too. But now that he's found his kids, he's not the same guy who wanted them and they must sense this. Interesting how you chose Obi-Wan to tell Luke the story of his past instead of Vader, I think that worked since he was so mad at Vader (though he wasn't happy with Obi either) I am so glad now everyone knows the true tragic story and that Obi has regrets he didn't find out in time to save Anakin from turning.
So Vader walked right into the Rebel Alliance suit and all? I guess they trusted him since he was with Leia. I was wondering if he might be disguised somehow, if not healed, out of the suit or maybe a new designer suit? I can't wait to see what you may do with his 'look' as the story goes on!
And what is Palps going to do when he finds out Vader defected? Yikes!

Poor Vader! What's going to happen to him and all of them now? Very unique twist on the whole story, you've done it again.

Great retelling of the battle in a different way! But Vader is busted now, yikes!

Oh no this is so aggravating he can't tell them who he is! Shut up, Obiwan! Let Leia handle it! He shouldn't have given up so easily, maybe he could have escaped without hurting anyone. Now he's got BOTH sides blaming him, or going to blame him for something. He's got to get out of that suit so no one will know who he is. Any chance of that? Write again soon!
