I am wondering what purpose the Force had in orchestrating Obi-Wan's relationship with Janelle. And I'm wondering how he can say he "can't love her like he did before" unless he just means physically. But otherwise, I really can't understand him (and this is probably something Anakin can't wrap his head around, either). Is it because being a Jedi is the only thing he's ever known, from his first living memory, that he identifies with it so strongly that it alters his emotions? Surely the Force didn't concoct all this just to make Obi-Wan and Janelle miserable - yeah, they'll eventually get over the worst of it, but why go through all that. Maybe he doesn't want to live on Muulinist, but couldn't she possibly go with him elsewhere?
However, I must agree with Anakin - if the council simply expels him, it would be the worst thing they could possibly do - so I don't think they will unless you have another sequel up your sleeve.

I agree with crystalcat. You have also done a wonderful job in creating this relationship between Obi-Wan and Janelle: it's marvelous! I'm usually known for skipping right past OCs involved with Obi, but this is so good, I forget that she's created by you! You truly are talented.

Wow, you outdid yourself with this chapter. I really like how you're taking us all through the outcome very slowly, remaining focused on what happens inside of Obi-Wan and what and how he has to go through, not only with respect to the Council, but with respect to his own entire value system. I'm starting to wonder what he is going to do if the Council don't decide to punish him in a way he thinks is sufficient.
But BRAVO to Padme for seeing the situation so clearly. Anakin can't "fix" this although he desperately wants to (like all of us do, in one way or the other). I'm just hoping it doesn't take another month for you to post again, but even if it does, the results are obviously worth the wait.
Incidentally, I notice you forgot to change the date in the title.

You did a wonderful job of going through all the thoughts, feelings and emotions! Poor Obi-Wan, I feel so sorry for him. He didn't mean to do anything wrong and now he feels so guilty for hurting so many unintentionally.
I also liked the Anakin and Padme interaction, they sure are in tune with each other and it was a good talk. Every time I remember that this is an extension of the couple as they were in Padme's Heart I like it even more!
What's wrong with him? Oh no. I sure hope everything will be okay!

It's sad he has to feel like he's done something wrong when he was so nice and so happy. How can the Jedi blame him when he lost his memory? If they forgave Anakin there's no reason they shouldn't forgive him too.

Very nice scene of Anakin trying to help Obi-Wan, and explaining to Oren. I had almost forgot you let Obi-Wan/Cohl grow long hair in this story, yum, I like imagining him like that! Hot! BTW is Anakin's hair must have grown back from the fire in Padme's Heart, right? I agree that Anakin would make a great healer! He's got the gift, and as he gets older he'll probably be even better at it! Good, San Hill held with no bond! Did you ever see the movie 1776? When you have scenes of Anakin and Padme talking through the force, I imagine it like that. John Adams was sitting there in the attic of Indepedence Hall alone and when he spoke to Abigal, she'd appear and answer back. The audience saw her kind of in a dream clouded way, on the farm back home, but they were together, kind of. That's how I see Anakin and Padme, and I love it! Of course, him being with Padme in person is the best! That last scene I sure hope that kind of love awaits Obi-Wan and Janelle, someday!

I understand how Obi-Wan has worried himself sick over this. The council isn't likely to be too understanding, even though he didn't even intend to fall in love. I'm not sure there's anything Anakin can do. Love has to be the cure!

How terrible that Obi-Wan evidently feels he needs a hair shirt. However, I can understand that his entire value system has just been uprooted and he hasn't had time to adjust or won't be able to completely adjust to it. He should be able to testify against San Hill adequately, as that will enable him to think about and concentrate on something with which he is familiar, and not have to think of the other too closely (by keeping himself busy). But I'm wondering how you are ultimately going to be able to resolve this for him. Not sure I could do it justice; my hat is off to you for even tackling this sort of story!

Aw it looks like Obi-Wan is returning and "Cohl" is fading. Good to see Toller improving.
