Wow, I agree. Mon Mothma is too full of herself for good sense. I hope Ackbar and Reikan can contain whatever mess she creates.

I'm trying to catch up on all I missed! I love that Anakin has Padme but I'm still worried about the kids. This is a very intriguing and complicated plot you have here and it's great! You are using each character well. It's an interesting twist to see Mon Mothma as less than kind for a change. When Bail and his wife were used as heavies in "Ashes" there were a couple readers who had a hard time accepting that. While Mon Mothma has always been the pillar of democracy in the movies and other fanfics- and I guess the EU too- you have done something very original in making her kind of the villain and it's working well. So now she's caught onto the Anakin/Vader thing and can use it against him. Everyone's got troubles that seem too hard to get out and I can't guess what will come next. Fine piece of work all the way around!

That's an interesting subject, should worlds be free to leave, or would that weaken the whole? Tough call, everyone should have independence if they want it but it's too dangerous a time to not be united. What will happen now?
Anakin and Padme's love is strong again though they suffer for the lost years. I hope they can be together again soon in person, not just feelings and force sense, though that helps!

Well, that was a nice sweet chapter ending in the middle of all the disasters! I suspect you are setting up how Anakin will be aware of it the moment Mothma kidnaps Padme (at least that's what I think you may have in mind). And that alone could turn him to the dark side (or turn Leia, for that matter, maybe easier).
Padme does have a lot to be depressed about, but it seems you are hinting at something more specific ... ?

Yes I was thinking the same thing, could there be a bun in the oven? Just what I was thinking, actually, especially after Leia's made her visit the doctor. Unless you're going to go off an kill her from some incurable disease or something dreadful and really unexpected (I hope not). Mothma really has overstepped her authority, and I suspect Ackbar and Reikan have come to the same conclusion. Did she kidnap Padme's mom/sister/neice ? Whatever it is, she's unwilling to reveal it so it must be something the Alliance in general would not approve of. I wonder what they have in place (if anything) to prevent abuse of power? I suspect Padme would not cave in to such blackmail, but Leia is another story. She'll howl for revenge even if Anakin doesn't hear about it. |

Aha! We were right!!! (I guess we have little Jedi senses of our own, hmmm?) Interesting that Anakin has learned enough about the workings of the Force since he was 23 that he can tell she's pregnant before she knows about it, when he couldn't even tell before until she said so even though he hugged her when she was at least 6 months along ... ;-)
And so now there he is, back on Tatooine for the Boonta Eve classic. Will he use the opportunity to free all the slaves in a manner similar to the way he once freed himself, I wonder?
I'm also wondering what Padme is going to do when she hears Mothma's information and no one else is at home. Run off before someone can stop her, hmmm?

Yes! She's going to have his baby, and I hope they get to enjoy this one! Take care, Padme! Won't Anakin have another happiest day when he finds out? I hope nothing happens to either of them!
Aw, that was cute how Anakin told Luke he could tell by his outfit he was from Tatooine. And going back, all those memories. Poor Anakin. A pod race? Is he racing? He'd better be careful! Baby needs Daddy!

Oh, no. If anything could return Anakin to the darkness, it would be something happening to Padme. And the idea that "two of our pilots were killed ..." -- well, it IS a war and I'm sure there are grieving widows on the other side who'd like revenge on the Alliance as well. I understand the wife's motivations, but MOTHMA should have a better grasp on that! Suppose they weren't killed; then was Leia supposed to come after the Alliance in revenge after they blasted Han away? It's not like they were just there as an escort service...
At least 3PO will be able to tell them what happened - and now they'll have Artoo back again and he can hopefully help them infiltrate the Alliance. Plus, he remembers Anakin (even though he also knows what he did to the Jedi).

Anakin is considering a podrace, I hope he'll be safe! Will he sense in the force what has happened to Padme? How terrible she gets threatened like that, that they'll shoot Han and Leia if she doesn't go along with them! I am so mad! Oh now I'm really sweating it out and worrying!

Anakin won, and he is okay, that is great! It was nice he gave the money to Kister for the orphanage, even though he probably could have used it.
Leia discovered the kidnapping and she is mad at Mothma! Clever idea using the droids to get to her. She must still think badly of Anakin to think he would be mad about the new baby.
Now Anakin knows what happened, Luke is right to worry it might drive him to the dark side, since saving a pregnant Padme was what did it the last time. Look out for him, Luke!
I have a shallow question, did I miss something, has his hair grown back yet? I want to imagine him hot!
