Just wanted to let everyone know my computer has some kind of virus, it had it last year for awhile too. It will automatically shut off while I'm on it with no warning to say goodbye. Sometimes it starts back up, sometimes it takes hours. So if I disappear all of a sudden or if you don't see me for awhile that's what's wrong. I hope I can stay on long enough to download a virus program or something.

I'm really sorry your having computer troubles Annie! I know how it is, with our old computer it did similar things before. Even with our new one we have had it shut off with no warning, and for it to start up sometimes takes awhile. Evil computer problems! I hope it doesn't get to bad, I really hope it'll start working soon. Sigh, I hate viruses. I hope you it'll start working soon! Sometimes its best to turn it off for awhile and come back later, it then has time to rest and may be faster when you next come on. |

It still won't stay on. I'm now using a homemade 'Frankenstein" box my brother made, and it's hit and miss. Sometimes after I write a post, it freezes up and won't send it. Sometimes it freezes before the page loads all the way. He'll be back from vacation tonight, I'll see if he can fix one of them soon. Until then I'll just do what I can, and if I'm not around it's because of the computer(s). I really think mine has a virus and if we can get it to stay on long enough to download a virus program it should fix it.

September first, I go back on the fifth..sigh.
I'm going to have a busy weekend. Going shopping on Saturday (Getting the new Warriors book, at last) and get some final school supplies. On Tuesday I go back.
I sort of want to go back, and then sort of don't.
Also please forgive me everyone for being on here so little. I promise I will be on here alot more.

I hope it is! I know Annie had some bad weather a few days ago. Hope it's working better Annie! School tomorrow. This will sound insane-I am excited/nervous. I want to go back. See my friends, and the funny kids. You gotta love them. Their are always fun silly kids in the classess to. They can be annoying if the class gets really noisy, but there always fun to have a laugh. Makes class more enjoyable. Classess are shortened, we get out early the first day!  |

I'm using the one my brother made. Mine still ahs a virus. My daughter's is broken too so she's using mine a lot. The problem now is our DSL service, which seems to go out whenever the wind blows wrong, or even when it's damp outside even after the rain stops. Sigh. It's slower than dialup sometimes, and sites will only load halfway. Like here, I can write a post, and it will go out before it sends. Very frustrating.

Annie, I suggest writing the post in a Word document and then quickly cutting and pasting it here. Maybe that would get it before your connection goes out.

That's very interesting - my DSL does the same thing. We had the technician out to chase it down, and TWO guys who came to the door said they thought it was the card on the pole, that it had gone bad due to static electricity from a storm, but since it didn't blow out completely, they couldn't prove it with their equipment unless it malfunctioned while they were testing it (it didn't). So the company (AT&T) won't replace it - and the guy on the phone (who must have worked for accounting or something or had to replace it with his own money) was very unhelpful. I have a contract with them until February - but I'm looking for some sort of replacement now so I'm ready. Does anyone know of anything good? Satellite is out as it sends info at the speed of dialup (just receives fast), and since my son plays online games, that won't do. The cable in this area is Charter, unfortunately, that a friend of mine had big problems with. |

Doubleagent- I have gotten to where I save everything on copy and paste just in case, but sometimes even if I have it saved it still won't stay on long enough to post.
crystalcat- Yes, charter sucks. I had terrible trouble with it where I used to live. It's Verizon I'm having problems with now. The cable around here is Adelphia, but I don't want to have to invest in a new box and have everything wired for it. Right now I have the line in my computer and the wire goes out of the router, out the dining room window and up into my son's garage apt. I thought that might have had something to do with it, but my brother who lives 15 miles away and has both of his networked in his house also has the same problems with Verizon I do. I dont' know what to do, I've even considered going back to plain old dialup. It's slower, but at least it doesn't cut off halfway in the middle of a post, or only load half a site. Sigh.
