There was not much humor in this chapter with shades of Anakin appearing. Leia is quite angry with reason. I can't help but feel sorry for Vader.
He did her and Han a good turn.
Vader tells Leia in this version different spin on the story , makes for interesting dynamics.

Oh this was great! I loved how he met Leia and showed her all the pictures and told her the truth! Of course she's not going to believe it all but he can still have another chance. I can't wait for him to have his operation so she can see he really was that guy in the picture!

I agree, Annie, but Leia could still accuse him of using plastic surgery (or whatever passes for that in their galaxy) to look like Anakiin.

I love it! What did he tell them? “I had a mother; she was tortured to death. No other relatives. Anything else?”
I always liked Piett, and I can easily imagine him being a friend to Lord Vader, or as close a friend as would have been possible.
Finally! I wondered if anyone would ever write that Vader went to Kamino to get everything fixed by cloning organs. Seems so logical to me.
Great story! I really like it, TRT.

They could always do a DNA test! (sorry I've been on the history boards too much talking about the Anna Anderson case where they always bring up DNA)
But the biggest thing is the force, wouldn't they have some kind of sense about it if they meditated on it? Well let's see what happens!

I sure didn't expect that! What a twist on the 'I'm your father' speech! And Leia, what a b*tch! Poor Anakin! I hope he can get medical help soon enough, maybe now they can heal him?

What an unforeseen turn of events, and for Leia to make that move I was shocked. The realization that his children hate him along with the rest of the Empire has been very sobering. It's all so very tragic and sad.  |

Could the kids be coming around now? I hope so! The secret of Kamino should help! Once he's Anakin again how will they feel?
I liked the reference to Padme not marrying a monster, good point! And the part of her in his daze, very well done! Anxious for more!

Well, you have me logging in just to see if you've posted the next chapter yet. I'm totally hooked on this story - wish you would post FASTER!! (I know, it would be over sooner that way). Can't wait to see how you work this out.
Plus, I've got to admit I've always wondered what went on at that "dinner" on Cloud City. I know it wasn't really what you wrote (since the outcome was different), but nice to see it used, all the same.
On to Kamino!

I'm hooked, too, crystalcat! Can't wait for the next chapter (chapters?). This is so cool, and I'm eager to see what will happen. I love it that you have Qui-Gon Jinn talking to Vader; I think Vader will come around and become Anakin again, eventually. I hope so, anyway!

I love the conflict with Leia and Luke.... Luke still is more accepting than Leia..... getting good, I wonder if Vader will "transform" back into the old Anakin we knew and loved......

I liked how Leia saw Luke in Anakin's eyes, but it is sad how much she's blocking him out and convincing herself she hates him. I hope his remade looks will help her accept he's not a monster. I don't blame him for trying the surgery as risky as it is. Better to die than to live as Vader, but as Anakin, a whole new life!
