Oh, thank you for the nice long chapter. There IS a character limit on this board, I see you've discovered (I found it too, on a chapter of mine).
Lovely interweaving of Anakin and Padme's learning to love each other (and their kids learning to love them) again with the action story of the Empire in upheaval with Palpatine's assassination. I'm looking forward to seeing what Piett comes up with - interesting what he told the men about Palps being senile! I'm wondering now if you're going where Anakin originally offered Padme - but without the Dark side along ...
No, don't answer - I'll find out!

Chapters 18 and 19
I really, really do enjoy the way you have the characters interacting and discussing the deep feelings they have, both with each other, and in their own minds. This is beautiful introspective and detail I love and it's what you don't get from movies or EU books all full of creatures and explosions. I love the way you write and the things you say and how you do it. It is truly a pleasure to read!

That was quite interesting having that come from Leia. She really is just as blunt as Anakin and it really hit home because he couldn't dodge the directness of her approach. Hopefully, it will do some good; I'm just wondering what is going to happen to them next!

I finally caught up! So wonderful how they still love each other..... Padme always knew him.... she knows the conflict he's going through....... where was Padme? I know Palps had her for some years..... she thought the children were dead? I guess she never heard of Luke Skywalker?

I especially love the Anakin/Leia interactions they are filled with tension and also love. Leia will be a tough one to crack and her father knows it. I am pleased to see Padme and Anakin profess their undying love for each other.

Oh, boy, this is going to be interesting! Emperor Vader! But will he be believed, since anybody can come along and say it was them under the helmet all the time. Especially as he can't go around Force-choking anyone without seriously distressing Padme (and of course, coming dangerously close to going back to the darkness).
I'm wondering what's going to happen when they re-join Han and the Alliance ...

I love how Anakin let Padme "vent it all out" she needed to yell at him, hit him......
Can't wait to see what will happen when he becomes Emperor Vader!

Padme expressing her feelings about what happened on Mustafar was great.
Anakin listened and offered no excuses , which was I'm sure very healing for Padme.

Oh, my, reaching the point of no return here. I was wondering if you were going to put him back in the mask - but I like the idea better of him dressing up like the emperor! How malevolent will that look! The only thing he won't retain about Vader's scariness is his voice...
Am curious to read tomorrow's post to see if we get the press conference or the alliance's reaction. No, don't tell me!

Well, that was kind of creepy - he just forgot himself completely and started to Force-choke the reporter. On the positive side, this should help allay any doubt whatsoever that he's really Darth Vader, for purposes of becoming emperor.
I have to wonder if the reporters noticed that Lady Vader caused an intervention? (no, don't tell me!)
Hope your posting this early in the day means there's another one coming tonight???

I'm so glad they're going to try to rule the galaxy, I hope it works out! I understand the force choke, he had to try to show those guys he was still Vader and still someone to fear, but I also understand how it scared Padme. With her at his side, the dark side doesn't have a chance, I hope!

He really scared the heck out of Padme as she realized the darkness is still there. I feel so for him.

Okay, so now Han knows, but how ARE they going to explain it to Mon Mothma without giving the whole thing away?
Love the description of Vader's unused palace. Well, at least now it's getting some use! And the press wondered why he'd want to be free of the suit ....

I can't wait to see what diversion Han comes up with. And what DOES Mon Mothma think she knows? She may have known Padme was pregnant, but would that lead to her thinking that Darth Vader is really Anakin (and would she have known who the father was even so)? I have the impression from this story that people think Anakin was one of the Jedi killed in the purge.
Anyway, you have me really curious now. Please post again asap!
